A beer museum, eh?
Barry's Doctor told him he should cut back on the booze.
Didn't he have a beer summit back in the fall?
Funny, everything is starting to revolve around alcohol. They say the first step to recovery, is admitting you have a problem. Perhaps Barry is just the garden variety alkie. It would sure explain the temper tantrums, and mood swings.
I love beer as much as the next guy. As a Californian who spent much of the 80's and early 90's commuting to Wisconsin for work, I can also appreciate quaint buildings like Breweries along the roadside.
But, to spend almost 1/2 million highway dollars, and about 1/4 million commerce department dollars to redevelop a brewery in Wisconsin is almost too much to bear! (Beer?)
Folks, these are the shenanigans we play when America is flush with capital. If we're in the black, Heck Yeah!, let's repair that brewery alongside a state highway! It's cool looking and adds to our historical culture!
But, if America is in the RED, don't we all feel a bit foolish dolling out such amounts to rebuild such folly, when there are ACTUAL potholes in our roads??????
Fix the Bridges, Fix the Potholes, more can benefit from this. Crikey, my national highway tax dollars refurbished or redeveloped a brewery I'LL NEVER GO TO! GRRRRRR!
You're right – I'll drink to that!
DTOM!

You think Dear Leader is drinkin' & smokin' now – just wait until Nov.

I never knew how good I had it in NC until I moved to Wisconsin. I took for granted my ancestral home's State Motto: "First in Roads, last in education." Wisconsin roads are horrible. I'd rather have a couple of potholes filled then another testament to this states' love of booze.
Hmm. Fascinating and stomach turning at the same time.Truth is stranger than fiction.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Hanzo
There might be a song there, somewhere.
" He be smokin'"………
You need to get out more. Outside of Milwaukee County, WI state roads (not the interstates) are beautiful. Resurfaced every year. It's the one perk of high taxes.
Pork is government's way telling us to GFY.
It could be that hanging out so much with the village idiot Biden and then having to go home to The First Gardener has driven Obamao to drink more. Perhaps, if he drank more and got really soused, he would just pass out and keep his mouth and office shut. That would be real community service.
I've only ever been in Milwaukee when it was snowing. The roads around Madison suck out loud, especially in the southern end of Dane County. State roads, county roads, it doesn't make a difference.
It's all pay-back for getting "THE CHOSEN ONE' elected. And yes I feel porked!
Thank You for that suggestion HA…………..sooooooo much easier!
We need some level of consumerism, it creates jobs. What we need is people and government to learn to live within their means. The Government is rewarding people and corporations that overextended their finances with bail outs…everyone thinks they deserve a handout. Just live within your means….
better to spend the money here than overseas in israel or iraq or afghanistan etc.
If you were an alcoholic, maybe you would understand?
This column is always a great reminder that I am actually a living, physical being. Increased heart rate, blood pressure climbing, steamy pile of vomit on the floor. Oh yeah, it's all real. I'll stop now while this post is still "friendly".
Barry, come now, repeat after me:
" Step One. We admitted we were powerless over alcohol, that our lives had become unmanageable."
Double income families often exist so one can pay for living expenses while the other pays for government. My brother and his wife did the math, they pay almost her entire earnings in assorted taxes, and she is a BS LRN, not a burger flipper.
A great philanderer once lied "The era of big government is over". We need to make it so, and then the economy will break the sound barrier.
You're right about the mindset, but consumerism only ends if the economy collapses, the economy will collapse if consumerism declines much more than it has already.

Resurfaced every year??????……. who ever is running that scam…….
Please !…..Keep him out of Chicago
Snip "The Secretary of Transportation says “it’s fun playing Santa Claus to states and cities around the nation”
Yeah, it's all kinds of fun putting us and our kids in debt so you can wear a red suit and have state workers sit on your lap while you get drunk on our money. These people make me sick.
I dont care if they have a D or an R in front of their name, corrupt is corrupt regardless of how it's wrapped or how much perfume you hose it down with.
When this hooror story of an administration is all over,….. there is going to be a ton of new millionaires,,,,, and….
not one widget to show for it.
I'll send him a case of single malt
If you think it will help
"Who's wine what wine where the hell did I vote"
Grab your ankles and OINK
I was thinking AIR but …No that too
Our taxaholic government has gotten drunk on our money for long enough. Uncle Sam needs some serious rehab.
Pork Man… I love these posts. Idea: add the micro numbers. The numbers report are too staggering for the progressives, libs (whatever). Think the $200 toilelet. Am I saying dumb it down? Maybe. But to get the ire going and peoples attention they need the raw, close to home, nums. Anything "billion" sounds just so good (must be good if "we" are willing to spend that much on it). Take the FL Citizens Insurance (gov run) as ex – CE0 as ab eg.
You been porked.
Remember the old sign?
Get porked at Porky's………
I think it would be easier and faster if we listed the things that weren't pork.
Imagine your world without super inter-state hi-way systems folks, they are only one more example of
things we can no longer afford. Your wish to live in cities, with all their amenities, is too expensive for
the WHOLE to support. You will either move closer to your workplace, or find other work closer to your
home. Social Security, Medicare, Unemployment Ins. etc, are only the beginning of the list of things we
can no longer afford. Progress down the long list of things we may do without, it is extensive, especially
when you realize your time will no longer be worth what it is today. Will two breadwinner families come
to be viewed as greedy, even unpatriotic? Think 1930's USA. We have all been brainwashed to believe
we NEED more & more STUFF. This era of consumerism WILL end.
agreed Thw, I myself have been a happy conspicuous consumer at times, however in this current
economic debacle we will soon realize food & fuel are the priorities, nothing else will matter to us.

Digusted Senior citizen, who has worked all her life to be successful!!!!!!!!!
Heather Radish,
I Didn't make myself clear. I actually love Wisconsin! It's beautiful! I especially love the North, Wausau, Rhinelander, Eagle River! Could be one of the most beautiful places in the US, and least recognized. Around every turn there's another postcard. Seriously.
But I wasn't specifically talking about Wisconsin potholes. That's where I got fuzzy. I live in California. You should see OUR roads. Joke. We can save the swamps, but pave roads?
BTW I have visited breweries in WI and the beer is great too.
Everybody loves beer!
