It's simple. Obama is the "parent" and we the American people are his "children". We don't always know what is good for us – aka "You don't know what's good for you".
It's total arrogance on his part. He even displayed it to the Supreme Court for the whole country to witness. He's a little man with a big head. But sooner or later that weight will be his downfall.
