Arizona’s Immigration Law
by Phil LiberatoreThe recent law passed in Arizona raises some tough questions. How does one respond to a state law that enforces federal law? Our President said it was “misguided.” Many state and city politicians in California have said it is time to boycott Arizona for its “harsh” immigration policy. One Los Angeles Councilmen said that Arizona is acting like it is its own country. One Texas Congressman said that the law is something he wants in his state. A city councilman in Costa Mesa, CA said that the city is going to copy it and make it an ordinance. Many activist groups have now filed legal suits against Arizona’s newest law, but many experts say that the law will stand.

Having grown up the son of an immigrant, I know firsthand the hardship of having no roots and being in a strange place. I was born in New York and moved to the San Fernando Valley. My father struggled to put food on the table, and I had to work as a young man. I had my own paper route and worked hard. When I graduated high school, I received a scholarship to USC. This is the dream that most immigrants have for their children.
California became the place where dreams came true for my parents and me. My father taught me that to be a good citizen you have to follow the laws. I believe that still today. I am successful because I have followed the laws of this great nation. I believe, to find success in this country it must first start there. I have driven past Home Depots, like many of you. I think about the lives those men are living and my heart hurts for them. I know they struggle to put food on the table just like my father did. I know they came here seeking a better life for their children. I understand their plight, but their method in achieving that goal is what I cannot understand.
Our current system has moved beyond common sense. Our President has failed to uphold the laws set out by Congress and states are not allowed to enforce the federal laws. Immigration and Customs Enforcement lack funding and staff to handle the current situation. We have judges and district attorneys that are more dedicated to sentencing ICE agents then to enforcing our immigration laws.
This issue is no longer one which we can sit idly by and hope for a solution. We have solutions. First, we need to secure our borders. Second, we need to remove all financial incentives for illegal immigrants. And third, we need to demonstrate the clear and responsible pathway to legal immigration.
Arizona passed legislation allowing local law enforcement agencies to work with federal agents. We have laws in this country for a reason and they need to be enforced. The American dream is something that I believe in, but a vital part of that dream is honoring the laws that we have established. If I am elected to the 42nd Congressional district in California I will stand in the way of any amnesty bill or pathway to citizenship that does not honor those that have sought to come here legally. I fight daily to uphold and defend the Constitution and the values that hold it in place. We need responsible common sense immigration policies. As the son of an immigrant, I am pro-immigration but oppose the recent wave of illegal aliens. John Adams said “Government is instituted for the common good; for the protection, safety, prosperity, and happiness of the people…” We stand at a pivotal moment; to create and protect opportunity and call upon our leaders to ensure the will and protection of the people of the United States of America.

Yet, you feel no sorrow for the billion other people in the world – out of sight, out of mind, eh?
I know they came here seeking a better life for their children.
No, like every criminal they are looking for a fast buck and don't care who else they hurt in the process.
And third, we need to demonstrate the clear and responsible pathway to legal immigration.
No, we don't. Look at the unemployment. We don't need ANY more people here, obviously. Importing more poverty hurts Americans.
50 foot high electrified barrier with 30 feet of 1/2 inch plate steel driven into the ground, 20 border agents every quarter mile, job done, border secured.
Take the business licenses of employers that "knowingly and repeatedly hire" illegals and seize their assets, fully fund e-verify and REQUIRE proof of citizenship to rent housing or open a bank account.
Problem solved!
Um, what?
And we allow anonymous posting why again?
Nothing I said was unclear.
It seems we have a government with so called leaders who choose to put their mouths in gear without engaging their brains. This has been so painfully evident with this issue as the President, Attorney General and Secretary of Homeland Security have all opined what a misguided law Arizona has passed while admitting they have not deigned to read it. They have sought to paint with a broad brush that this is based in racism and ignorance while abdicating the Federal Governments failure to enforce the current Federal laws. What pure unadulterated hypocrisy and unmitigated gall they exhibit. The true racism in this country has once again charged to the forefront and surprise, surprise it is all coming on the left. Shame on the Federal Government and all the protected do-gooder socially conscious and governmental protected groups who continue the violence, hatred and entitlement mentality so prevalent in this society.
November will be an education for them as we begin the process to re-establish the values of our nation.
Punish the employers appropriately and remove the state benefits is really all it will take.
Anthough the wall is a good idea anyway.
No, only Israel is allowed to have a border fence.
"Yet, you feel no sorrow for the billion other people in the world – out of sight, out of mind, eh? "
What are you putting in your Cheerios?
We have the right of self preservation.
so all the lazy shits can have something to do during the day?!
The border MUST be sealed if any attempt at getting the entire problem under control is to have any teeth, we simply cannot allow the sieve to the South to remain open. Unfortunately the libs would scream about the benefits thing but they would have zero recourse with the housing or bank accounts option.
It won't solve the crime problem. A fence is definitely necessary.
1. Having held elected office myself, I am quite familiar with the Oath of Office. By my interpretation of that oath, any president failing to secure our borders is guilty of malfeasance of office. If I am correct, that is a serious offense.
2. As an aside, living in Arizona, I have been speaking with local police officers. I have yet to find one that is troubled by SB1070. Most tell me something like, (paraphrasing now) ' we already had that authority.'
Agreed, but the reality is most are here for the benefits and the jobs.
Take that away they will leave.
I'm all for immigration, and heartily welcome anyone wanting to come to this country and be part of America. However, they should come into the country legally, through the normal immigration process, in no small part because the immigration process encourages assimilation, it helps them become a part of our culture, rather than following the Euopean example where so many countries now have entire conclaves of immigrants that remain separate from those contries and their cultures, operating as their own country within a country. In the long term, that can never be a benefit to a society. (continued)
That being said, those who came to this country illegally, should leave or be deported. If their only crime was coming into the country illegally, then perhaps a process can be put in place for them to begin the LEGAL immigration process without years of waiting, but the bottom line is, they need to be out of the country first before applying. We are a nation of laws, and illegally entering the country is against the law. If we don't enforce one law, we lose the moral authority to enforce other laws as well. Amnesty for illegals already in the country has been done before, and it's only an encouragement for others to immigrate illegally, and play the amnesty lottery as well. By granting amnesty, you make instant citizens, who haven't been encouraged to learn the language, to learn our culture and history, and leave them with no incentive to assimilate into our society whatsoever.
"We have the right of self preservation. " I'm not arguing against that. The biggest threat are these people who feel sorry for others, though. Everyone else has to pay for their feelings.
It's a shame really.
Mark Krikorian wrote "The New Case Against Immigration" a couple of years ago.
When I finished it I thought, "We go out of our way to avoid regime change. We champion self-determiniation for the rest of the world, yet we deny it for ourselves."
Surveys show that the elites are more "citizens of the world" than Americans. Yet the people would be happy with no illegals, fewer immigrants and more assimilation.
Politicians have gone way overboard establishing illegal aliens as a protected class.
Well said Sunshine – let's not even talk about the cost of illegals! oh yea, that's right, the cockaroachs on the left will SPIN that too! Cuz ya know, those 500k illegals pay soooooooooo many taxes! lol
So none of the brilliant leaders *choke* of our great nation have read the damn bill!!! Another perfect example of the lefts ongoing hypocrisy, aka BUSINESS AS USUAL!
Well said.
Securing the borders is a matter of priorities and will. The Imperial Federal Government has neither. They tout hiring 1600 more Border Patrol, meanwhile planning to hire 16,000 more IRS agents. They defund the border fence. Why? At the very least it meant jobs for American citizens.
Candidate Liberatore, at the very least you should call for the enforcement of California Penal Code 834(a). That would demonstrate you are serious in your candidacy.
Lets all take a break from reading blogs and buy something from Arizona! Give them the support they deserve.
I bought a case of wine just the other day — maybe they didn't grow all the grapes in AZ but they added a lot of value to both the beverage as well as to the country!
*Everything* you say is unclear
Do not be fooled by Holder's feigned ignorance of the issue. http://assets.opencrs.com/rpts/RL32270_20090311.p...
His verbal fumbling merely means he doesn't have a defense for what AZ did.
whatreallyhappened-perhaps you should consider one of the organizing for obama sites. Clearly the social networking there would be more receptive to your views.
Most people don't realize that the Governments South of the border are simply emptying their prisons onto our streets ala Fidel Castro.
They do it knowing full well that it will undermine our ability to survive as a sovereign nation, this is what needs to stop.
Good writing Phil, thanks for standing for the rights of Arizona and America!
But its perfectly OK for the Hamass Palisimians to bulldoze their own people's homes.
Hi all. From the smallest rented hovel to the largest mansion or mansions (think Al Gore), we, as the legal controllers of that property, get to say who comes and goes. Our country is an extension of our house. This is up to and including saying "NO" to any immigration at all if we choose to. Given that we already take in more legal immigrants than the rest of the world combined, I feel no need to be lectured by anyone from anywhere else, especially that cesspool south of the border.
The banks go hand in hand with the job, take that away you completely dissolve any reason for staying…
I found it amusing that CA, the great progressive bastion of sanctuary cities, millionares and michael moore types will boycott AZ. Go ahead CA because you get 1/3rd of your power from Arizona and it can be tit for tat. La Raza has a lot to do with this protest and they have protection now in the Supreme Court. Last year alone, the illegals cost Arizona 2.7 billion dollars. Thats ridiculous.
It'a all a huge mess and the illegals feel empowered that they can protest with CA backing them. This problem should not have happened if the Fed gov would've enforced the law to begin with. I can understand the frustration of good, innocent people wanting a better life but the gangs and drug smugglers are integrated into the equation. It's a no win situation.
Now they have the responsibility as well.
If they were acting on their authority prior to the passage of this law then there really shouldn't have been so many illegals in the state.
Two things it adds are the elimination of sanctuary cities and necessity of local law enforcement to work on the problem. Local law enforcement, whether of their own volition or from political policy, are no longer going to be able to just look the other way on the problem.
Something I realized is this, why are so many against the law have never read it. Holder and others doesnt even know whats it in, and they only go off the media scare from the MSM. We are talking about the same people who havent read their own bills and they passed. Those on capitial hill are complete idiots, and they all should be fired.
So to make it simple for the uneducated liberals/progressives, it helps to make a case if one reads law before making judgement on it. Yet, they still dont even read their own bills and still pass them.
Example. Nancy Pelosi: "We Have To Pass The Health Care Bill So You Can Find Out What's In It".
I rest my case.
Janet Incompetano has admitted to the Senate that although she also hasn't read Arizona's law, her position is that she wouldn't have signed it…..
I say let them leave, or escort them if necessary to their country of origin. We can drop them off at an American Embassy, where they can begin the legal immigration proceeding, at the very back of the line. If their only crime is entering the country illegally, then we can slap them on the wrist and let them come in legally. If they've committed other crimes, we dump them in El Jefe's "farm" land.
I think it's kinda funny you got a ton of thumbs down for arguing against a liberal leaning viewpoint =). You can't win, can ya?
How can she write when she can't read?
The United States has no obligation to anyone except to its own LEGAL citizens. Every country in the world, except the U.S., has borders. The USA needs to secure the border. I support Arizona and LEGAL immigration.
Yes, do what Enron did in 2001. Shut down a power plant or two for 'maintenance'.
Where can I find that?
I thought he was lying outright, because he didn't want the Senator to ask him about the part of the law that directly prohibits racial profiling or says the police have to have lawful contact first. Better to be thought a fool, than open his mouth and remove all doubt.
" But Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said a wall running the length of a border would cost too much. A 2,000 mile state-of-the-art border fence has been estimated to cost between four and eight billion dollars. Costs for a wall that would run the entire length of the border might be as low as $851 million for a standard 10-foot prison chain link fence topped by razor wire. For another $362 million, the fence could be electrified."
http://www.globalsecurity.org/security/systems/me...
Considering that it already cost AZ over 2billion, they really messed up on that one.
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2010/05/17/napolitano_admits_she_hasnt_read_arizona_law_but_says_she_wouldnt_sign_it.html
So presumably you are commenting during your busy work day? Have you told your supervisor about your propensities? Oh I forgot. Andrew Breitbart is your "supervisor."
Thank you Phil, so many legal immigrants stand with AZ., good luck in your bid for election.
The resulting savings in prison costs, emergency room costs, law enforcement costs, among others, would make a 10 Billion dollar wall well worth it.
Michael Chertoff is an idiot.
Having grown up the son of an immigrant, I know firsthand the hardship of having no roots and being in a strange place. I was born in New York and moved to the San Fernando Valley. My father struggled to put food on the table, and I had to work as a young man.
No disrespect, Mr. Liberatore, but just why is "working as a young man" somehow a hardship, or a badge of honor?
With all the sanctuary cities in California, I suspect an evacuation of illegals from Arizona heading west is in the offing.
You seem to be missing what is really happening.
Why are you supporting people who are breaking our laws, and could careless for your fellow citizen.
Besides, why are peoples feelings above national security, that our federal government has failed to inforce in decades. So, if the government has failed to protect its people, then its up to the states to do the job instead.
We just need to do something simple, first actually secure the boarder. Second, improve our legalization system (think new Ellis Island program). Yet, our federal government cant even do the first one.
The real meat of the Arizona bill is that it outlaws sanctuary cities(Tucson, Phoenix, Chandler, Flagstaff, etc) where police can not ask the question about immigration status due to rules imposed by mayors. Now they can. Notice also that the cities and states protesting this enforcement of existing federal law are sanctuary locations.
I didn't realize how large a portion of Electricity comes into CA from ARIZONA. HA! Checkmate! The Governor of AZ should tell CA. to grow up, because they may just have to shut down some power stations for maintenance. This is of course what Obama the DIVIDER wants, they love a crises, they can get alot done in a crises.
This does go to show that if CA is really bent on hurting AZ, and it's citizens then maybe CA should suffer a power failure for their attack on the citizens of AZ. All of this is promoted by the POSER in the White House, the real illegal alien. I'm not promoting that AZ actually turn off the power, but CA should smell the coffee before any of that and realize AZ is part of THIS country. It's just the Liberals, the United Nations and all the Communist countries that think AZ is wrong.
Yesterday, Local radio talk show host Neal Boortz had some representative from a group opposed to the Arizona law. Now if you don't know Neal, sometimes he can be a little tough to listen to even if you agree with his philosophies. Well yesterday was fantastic. He's a lawyer by education so he looks at a lot of stuff from the legaleze of it all. He asked this guy (an apparent citizen born here, but with Hispanic Heritage) two questions. 1) What papers must a non citizen NOW carry with the Arizona law that the federal govt did not require before the law? and 2) What rights do the police officers now have with the new law that they didn't have under the Federal? Any one listening knew the answers to these questions but this guy would not give a straight answer. I finally got po'd and had to turn it off when Neal pointed out the guy kept using the term "undocumented residents" instead of illegal immigrants. When questioned, the guy said he will not used that term because he doesn't think it appropriate. So basically, a nation of laws is not supposed to live by them. Great.
Like being clueless…?
I prefer minefields, myself…
The only people against Arizona's law are the ignorant, the left, and illegals. Or a combination of any of these three.
These people do not constitute a constituency that you want to please.
Every legal immigrant I know (and I know a lot) has said that Mexicans need to stand in line too, not jump it.
I am guessing we did grow the grapes here in AZ, we have many wineries in Sonoita, AZ.
Thanks, for supporting us!
Qhat the country does not realize is that the money we may lose in boycotts, is MORE than made up in the money we will not lose to illegal immigrants. Illegal Aliens cost us BILLIONS per year, we lost our Level I trauma centers in Tucson a long time ago, and now when we are in dire need of critical care, we must be life-flighted to Phoenix for it. Guess what that costs us? About 20,000 per flight, add that to the cost of your family having to travel and stay in Phoenix while you are in critical care. WE ALL PAY for illegal immigration, whether it it through our taxes, higher insurance premiums, or with out lives because the accesability of medical care has been stripped from our communities.
Until BO and his trolls have people in place to punish AZ, nothing will be done. Once their seiu and acorn knuckle draggers are in place, the trouble will begin.
We send foreign aid to Mexico. Over $30 millions a year. Here's an idea: keep the dregs of society in your country or we will stop sending money. We can them use that $30M to start building that fence.
You left out the patriot bill. It also was passed without being read.
Albuquerque finally gets it…
EVERYONE arrested in Albuquerque now is subjected to Immigration and Customs Enforcement investigation…as a routine part of their arrest…EVERYONE…
City Councilors Sanchez, Garduno, O'Malley, and Benton tried…but failed to overturn the routine ICE policy, AND to stop doing business with AZ…
BY THE WAY…the VERY FIRST guy arrested that was subject to the new law…?
That's right, boys and girls…here illegally…!!
The real truth about our immigration issues is they are the end result of years of liberal policies designed to help destroy this Nation. While many have come here in the hopes of a better life, it is becoming abundantly clear our Nation is rapidly heading towards the same third world status of the places they left. In truth the leaders in D.C. have allowed the evasion of the United States by a gorilla force intend on on our destruction. Then they have the gall to call Americans raciest when we protest against this travesty. We are witnessing the Application of Alinsky Rules for Radicals applied on a grand scale by a Socialist minded Administration. Wake up, officials from this regime feel free to berate this Nations people, Constitution, and Flag. We no longer enjoy a Government of the People, but rather a Government over the people. 2010 elections will forecast the future of debate and where we are heading. If there is anything that hints of malicious handling of the results and we see a huge voice of opposition I would not be surprised that we see a immediate crack down by those in D.C. Unfortunately many within the Beltway favor a Democratic style (read end game Socialist) Government rather than a a Republican style. In the fifties I had a preview of what awaits us when our school brought us the refugees of such conflict in the form of Hungarian students that escaped the 1956 revolution in their home country. I never forgot their stories of what they endured, or their astonishment at what life here in the U.S. offered. Of course liberal hacks will attack those of us who do not trust them or their lies, but that means little any longer, we see them for what they are, and would no more trust their words than those of a pedophile asking to teach in our schools, then again we may have already done just that.
LOL
At the rate we're going broke and increasing sales tax….even talking about a VAT NO WORRIES, FOLKS, THEY WILL LEAVE IN DROVES.
During the 2008 crash, El Paso bridge saw 200 THOUSAND LEAVE… IN ONE MONTH!
Just keep up the idiot liberal tax and, uh, tax, and oh yeh, TAX EVERYONE, EVERY DAY, FOR EVERYTHING, CARBON PENALTY FOR EXHALING TOO, YEH. THAT'LL HELP, THANKS AL, oh and hey how about ANOTHER TAX tap dance and we won't need any fences or Border Patrol. They won't stay.
When you shift the tax burden from EARNING to SPENDING…..they're OUTTA HERE. THE ONLY REASON THEY'RE HERE IS CAUSE THEY EARN WELL AND PAY ZERO TAXES! THEY WORK OFF THE BOOKS, THEY OWN NO PROPERTY……no worries!
Start TAXING THEIR SHOPPING TRIPS TO WALLYWORLD AND THEY'RE GONE IN 60 SECONDS!
I left out several bills, too many. I just went with the most recent one.
What can I say, those in office now are ILLITERATE.
I support enforcement of existing federal law. The DOJ(domicile of jerks) and homeless insecurity need to do their respective jobs. Update. The useless nations and Mexico are jumping onto the band wagon of the illegals. Notice that the neither the UN nor Mexico ever say anything about Iran, China, Russia, Venezuela, Cuba, etc. Only in America do we see this type of interference from useless idiots.
I think the greatest debate for Whatreallyhappened rages between his ears.
Get back on you meds WRH!
Answer the door those nice people are there to help you!
If memory serves, all us old fogies worked as kids cleaning yards, shined shoes, delivered papers, bussed tables, bagged groceries at the local market, or accepted any odd job to acquire spending money. Then it was the norm.
Probably all headed our way….San Diego. Oh, and thank you SD City Council for "speaking" for the people when announcing your boycott of Arizona. NOT. I wanted to think that we (and parts of the OC) were providing a little balancing force to LA and SF. Sigh.
Looking for the benefit of the AZ immigration law?
Just announced last night: In 2009 AZ stood at 19th place in the category of "Auto theft". That was down from #1 in 2001. By virtue of the recession and the drop in our illegal immigrants we have moved an astounding 30 places to where today we stand at 49th
That's what I'm saying. You don't have to pay a mine a salary, a pension, or overtime. You don't have to worry about them unionizing either.
It's not just illegals from south of the border who need to go; all illegal europeans, Canadians, asians, chinese, etc. need to go, if federal law is to be enforced correctly.
1.) This is a silly debate. The only reason California is objecting is because this law _WILL_ eventually force California to follow suit; or go bankrupt – there is no way southern California will be able to handle the influx of illegal immigrants. Either way the politicians there loose.
2.)A REAL fence is needed for national security, to and slow drug flow as well as immigration. The only reason it wasn't done decades ago is because politicians are gutless; they care more about getting reelected than their nations sovereignty.
3.) On top of the fence we need a Military presence on the border, the border needs to be monitored via predator drones to dispatch Federal agents to anyone that slips through.
Agreed. An entitlement mindset starts at a very early age, and leads to unhappiness, consuming envy, and lack of options (freedom) as one gets older. That is the poison of socialism.
SUNSHINE…in your first sentence you used two word that do not compute…Leaders and Brains…yes I know you said so called but the elected offal in D.C. would not know a leader if they were marched over by a squad of USMC Gunnery Sergeants…and as for brains…hahahahahahaha yous a funny lady…not in D.C….I like your thought process…
I was going to blast Mr Liberatore for calling these folks illegal immigrants, but then he used the correct phrasing in his last paragraph. "I am pro-immigration but oppose the recent wave of illegal aliens" You are the son of a legal immigrant as I am the grandson of a legal immigrant. I am sure that some of the illegals are here to make a better life for their families, but I think many are here to make money to send to their families in their home country. They are not here to assimilate and become Americans.
I agree with the rest of what you say. The federal government must do the job of protecting our borders. It is their Constitutional responsibility. Until they do their job, I will support any state that passes laws like Arizona did.
Arizona is in the red by $3 Billion. Last year, illegals cost the state $2.7 Billion.
$300 million worth of red ink is a number we can work with. It will be a good day when all the illegals are gone.
Next, the Californians…lol.
If the influx of illegal aliens isn't stopped they'll do to our country what they'e done to their own.
Thanks! At least I think which is a lot more than the liberals in DC can say. Glad to be able to bring a smile to your day and do appreciate the kind words and wit you have returned.
Phil. I'm a resident in the district you're running for. You got my vote, my wife's vote, and my brother-in-law's vote.
Good luck.
The illegal advocates are stretching the Constitution they hate, and misleading their followers. I support AZ's law. *ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS PROVIDE A VALID ID, THEN ALL THE QUESTIONING STOPS*. Oh yeah, and you have to be detained for some infraction in the first place. It's not hard to understand.
We in AZ are more likely to see dividends from our SB1070 before anything the Feds do in the way of stimulus. Our state government needs to raise capital but the necessary ingredient in any solution HAS to include a reduction in spending. Saving several hundred million in expenses incurred because of the illegals will go a very long way.
Additionally, just as there are unforeseen consequences of any action, there can be a host of uknown ancillary benefits to the action: wages, right now the illegals are killing the trades people in the state by undercutting costs with this slave labor, If more legal residents got those jobs, lower unemployment, higher tax base, lower classroom populations, shorter waits in emergency rooms, fewer stolen cars, lower car insurance costs,,,the list can go on and on.
All stemming from ONE state enforcing a common sense law that has been on the books and unenforced for decades.
I am proud to be an Arizonan, an immigrant from my native Chicago roots 26 years ago,,,,legally
I agree that laws preventing employers from hiring illegals needs to be strictly enforced. That and all welfare benefits and including public school education should be denied. They then would have no reason to be here.
The wall is needed to stop the millions of dollars of drugs entering the U.S. It also would prevent Islamo Jihadists from entering from our southern border.
Much ado about nothing, the law is good and sound and common sense. Only marxists bent on flooding America with illegal aliens to overwhelm the electorate would object to it.
I go to Latin Countries all the time and they take their border security seriously, all of them! You must always have your papers and be able to show you are there legally — it's the law. No big deal.
It's racist to assume hispanics are too stupid to follow the law here.
.
" Obama hosts his second state dinner on Wednesday for Mexican President Felipe Calderon"
Isn't that just so cozy? I wonder if they'll discuss how they will continue the drug trade when all the people are screaming to close the border. Such a minor inconveniece in the scheme of things while they sip their $500/bottle liquor and laugh at us 'non-elites".
How much is this corrupt dinner hosted by a corrupt president going to cost us?
Some of us are employers. You know, the ones that pay taxes so dear leader can golf.
I will only support the Electric fence if it is green powered. Must be Solor and Wind powered…this will create those Green jobs that some Van Jones dude talked about. Now that would be KILLER!

When the worthless, Socialist, Obama, a US Congressman, or a State Legislator, or ANY government official puts concerns about Mexican nationals ABOVE THE AMERICANS HE HAS TAKEN AN OATH TO PROTECT, there is no doubt he is a traitor!
One more time…
THEY ARE PUTTING CONCERN FOR MEXICAN NATIONALS ABOVE THE VERY AMERICANS THEY HAVE TAKEN AN OATH TO PROTECT!
KICK ALL THESE ANTI-AMERICAN TRAITORS OF OFFICE!
TRAITORS… http://usataxpayer.org/?0072194997
WOW! The New Arizona Law Works… http://usataxpayer.org/?0072194997
Exactly. The illegals and their supporters act like my daughter did at age 3 when she'd lose at Chutes & Ladders: Cry, then ignore the rules, then make up her own.

And those of us who live in the Southwest know that the Cities are where the problems are greatest. Well actually I think anyone who analyzes societies will notice that cities are always the sanctuaries of the worst kind of people, throughout history. They all hate flyover places because those people will look them in the eye and remind them of their poor morality.
And then watch mexicans drive clunkers straight through the gate in order to create gaps. The only real solutions I can see are to reduce trade barriers so latin countries do better economicly and to make it more difficult for illegals to send money overseas (In many latin countries the number one source of income is actual illegals who do this).

We were just in Vegas two weeks ago (from Canada), and took an extra three unplanned days to drive to Phoenix via Grand Canyon. We made a point of explaining at every gas station, restaurant, hotel, etc. that we are spending our money in SUPPORT of Arizona's new immigration law. Everyone was 100% appreciative.
Never been to Arizona before, but we will definitely be coming back soon.
What sets this nation apart is the people. What lets the people reach their full potential is the Constitution. Maybe we should give pamphlet versions of the Constitution, translated into the appropriate language, to every deportee. Of course, even if they overthrow (peacefully, of course) their existing government and adopt their own version of the Constitution, the new leaders will have to abide by the rules, something that is sorely lacking here at home.
