Obama’s Carter Moment
by Pamela GellerIn stark, bitter contrast to his indifference to the popular Iranian uprising in the summer of 2009, Barack Obama has almost immediately engaged in events on the ground in Egypt, and it’s not good. Obama took no such action with Iran — a jihadist terrorist state agitating in countries all over the world. That was an historic missed opportunity.
In 2009, his silence about the brutal, murderous putdown of its people by the Iranian mullahcracy amount to his tacit support of that putdown, and spoke volumes. Obama became part of the problem, not part of the solution. He gave religious barbarism the free hand. In response, Iranian protestors had a direct message for America’s president: “You’re Either With Us or With Them.”
And since then also, Obama’s most consistent response to Iran (as well as to North Korea’s hostile moves) has been to ignore them and hope that proven evildoers will behave themselves. Wrong. The good cop is off the beat.
Obama failed, and the consequences of his failure have begun to be made manifest now in Egypt. I cannot understate the importance of Egypt to American interests and Israeli security. Egypt is arguably the second-most important country to the US in the region. Mubarak has been a U.S. ally for decades. We send three billion dollars a year to Egypt. And Egypt made a peace deal with Israel.
But knowing Obama, he will throw another ally under the bus.
Yes, Mubarak needs to institute democratic reform. I pray he doesn’t brutally respond to the uprising like Iran did — they slaughtered their people and crushed the Iranian revolution.
Meanwhile, the more the layers are peeled back, the more we see the hand of Iran behind what is unfolding in Egypt and all over the Middle East.
Who has emerged as a leader for post-Mubarak Egypt? Iran’s man, Mohammad ElBaradei. It is widely acknowledged that, as head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), ElBaradei ignored and left out of reports evidence that the IAEA had about Iran’s secret nuclear weapons program. He did as much as the North Koreans to advance Iran’s nuclear weapons program. For years he provided the cover they needed in the international community to build their annihilationist program.
If Obama had seized the moment in the Iranian freedom uprising, we would not be in this position now. Iran is casting a dark cloud over the free world. The mullahs are conducting a covert war against the West in Iraq and Afghanistan. Iran has aligned with Venezuela and Brazil, in an Islamic imperialistic advance into Latin America. And now Iran’s bomb man ElBaradei is jockeying for power in Egypt.
Whatever comes after Mubarak will be terrible. Make no mistake.
The disastrous handling of the Iranian hostage crisis by the worst-ever President of the United States, Jimmy Carter, led to the rise of Islamic jihad across the world (that and the Soviet withdrawal from Afghanistan). If we still had an ally in Iran, what a wonderful and different world this would be.
The Islamic takeover in Iran also started out as a secular movement and democratic unrest. Then Khomeini flew in from France and it was game over. Fast forward to 2011 in Egypt, and the same story is playing out again.
The global jihad means to install beachheads in Tunisia, Egypt, Lebanon, Yemen, and in any other state that may succumb, in what appears to a domino effect. There are now rumblings in Syria and Jordan as well. Turkey is switching sides.
And the rest of the Muslim world has its finger on their itchy trigger. I hold little hope that freedom lovers in these countries have any shot against the devout Muslim movements when the leader of the free world has long since abdicated. Egypt is a secular government. The objective for all freedom-loving peoples in the world should be a transition to a new secular government. Will those elements in the protest movement be able to stave off Islamic supremacists? Iranian imperialism? I think not.
Iran has its hooves all over this.
This could be America and the West’s worst nightmare. All that military aid in the hands of the Muslim Brotherhood would change everything. The Muslim Brotherhood is the head of the snake in the global violent Islamic supremacist war. They are our mortal enemy and are committed to our destruction. In a captured internal document in the largest Muslim Brotherhood terror funding case in US history, the stated aim of the Muslim Brotherhood is “eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within and sabatoging its miserable house.” And they are doing it. The Brotherhood proxies here in the US include CAIR, ISNA, ICNA, MAS, MSA, et al. Complete infiltration. Their operatives, notably Grover Norquist, are in key positions of power (on the left and the right), bought and paid for with jihad dollars.
And Obama? That quisling President invited the Muslim Brotherhood to his infamous “speech to the ummah” back in June of 2009. Civilizational surrender.
I am all for political freedom. But will Islamic jihad allow for anything but the sharia? Never. As bad as Mubarak was and is, Islamic law is far worse. The battle in Egypt is between the secularists and Islamic supremacists; they are united only in their hate for Israel, as mandated by the Qur’an. The cries of “Allahu akbar” in the streets do not instill confidence in the outcome.
May free men prevail.

To put it simply Obama is a failure! At least for freedom loving Americans.
"The disastrous handling of the Iranian hostage crisis by the worst-ever President of the United States, Jimmy Carter, led to the rise of Islamic jihad across the world (that and the Soviet withdrawal from Afghanistan)."
I must vehemently disagree with you here, Pamela. The title of "Worst-Ever President of the United States" has long since passed from Jimmy Carter to Barack Hussein Obama.
Peanut boy moment? barry is carter on steroids…
Obama simply needs a big H for hypocrite tattooed on his forehead. I love how he got preachy at Mubarak regarding free speech but remains strangely silent when it comes to China, Iran, Cuba, Venezuela, Russia. Obama is right.
Free speech is a human right. Too bad he doesn't believe his own words.
Damn good article. Now, what can we do about it?
Ensure he's a one term President!
This is the problem a nation faces when it elects an incompetent, unqualified, OJT child to the highest office in the land, especially when he doesn't have or even know how to spell foreign policy. His only claim to fame is as a small, community agitator and Chicago styled marxist.
Jimmy Carter: 19% interest rates. Stagflation. Gas rationing. Iranian hostage crisis.
Carter was a merely feckless and incompetent, but well-meaning liberal failure. Obama on the other hand, is a success — at the far left agenda. He is a dangerous statist with a life-long history of associations with radical marxists, who pledged to "fundamentally transform America" and has been making good on those promises ever since — by any means necessary. And doing so against a more dangerous backdrop of $14 Trillion deficits, housing market collapse, jihadist terrorism, North Korea, European meltdown, China etc.
At least Carter was a prelude to Reagan. If only we can survive long enough to eject this dangerous radical and his associates from Washington.
"May free men prevail."
Wall Street Journal refers to Egypt protests as a "secular protest movement" and says the Muslim Brotherhood has been "relegated to its margins." Let's hope it stays that way. Best case scenario, this plays out like Tunisia.
Pam,
Egypt is an ally of the US, Iran is an enemy. That is certainly one of many reasons for the difference in how the US (and Obama) have reacted to the riots in each of those countries. I get the feeling, Pam, that there is not one single thing that Obama could ever do that you would not oppose. I think you do raise some interesting issues in your article here, but your strident and undeviating anti-Obama orientation detracts from any valid points you do make.
= "I cannot understate the importance of Egypt to American interests and Israeli security." =
I think you mean you cannot 'overstate' — Pamela.
Carter was not 'well-meaning'. Carter is a rabid anti-Semitic. Watch Carter promote for Hamas here: http://hotair.com/archives/2009/01/26/jimmy-carte...
I personally intend to make sure they will never, ever be able to change your factual statement in the history books. The Obama experiment was a massive fail, future generations need to know that.
"The title of "Worst-Ever President of the United States" has long since passed from Jimmy Carter to Barack Hussein Obama." really Doug? It must have been a very long two years and one week for you.
Personally, I think worst president goes to Buchanan. He had the best opportunity to prevent the civil war and he didn't. 600,000 Americans died and our current culture war is partly a result.
we have a president that has only inner cities qualifications.he knows nothing about what goes on in the world.the masses voted for him now they are paying the price.wait til they masses start here rioting because they have no jobs and food prices rise so high they will go hungry
When it comes to the OweBama administration its difficult to know what's done on purpose and what's done from total incompetence.
Jimmy Carter pens an open letter to President Obama:
From the desk of Greatest Ex-President Ever Jimmy Carter:
Dear President Obama,
Well, this is a fine mess those Republicans cooked up for you the other night, now isn't it? Look, don't worry. You can beat this thing. You just have to know what to do and how to do it. You need advice from somebody who's been there. You need the Greatest Ex-President on your team, and I'm here to help.
You know what the problem with this country really is? I'll give you a hint: It's not you. You have done all the right things. I know you know it in your heart. This recession is Bush's fault. Make sure you don't forget it, and make sure nobody else forgets it. They'll want to hang it around your neck. Well don't let 'em do it. You've done more than anyone could ask or expect. So what if inflation starts to get a little high? Believe me, I know all about high inflation rates. It's not that big of a deal. People learn to adjust.
This whole thing about unemployment? Hey, no big deal. It'll come around sooner or later. Just keep pumping the money into the federal spending programs, and sooner or later the jobs are bound to come down the pike. Look, I've been there, I know what I'm talking about. If you let the Republicans get all over you about spending you'll never get anything done. Just ignore them and do what needs to be done to save the country.
Look, I know all about problems in the Middle East too. Problems with Iran? No big deal. If worse comes to worse you can send a couple of commando squads in to sort things out. Those guys are so good you don't even have to worry about having back up for them or an exit strategy. Just send 'em in and watch the fireworks. Israel? Look, everybody is sick of them, not just you. Freeze 'em out. It's not like they've got anybody else to go to anyway. Look, I've been here, I've seen this. Take it from me, Iran is no big deal. Don't worry about it.
The Russians are headed back to Afghanistan? No kidding? Hey, guess what, I've handled that too! Just shut off any wheat sales to them and skip the Olympics. Believe me, it'll be problem solved in no time. There is no need to stress about any of this, you have it totally under control.
Seriously, inflation, unemployment, budget deficits, Iran, Russia, Afghanistan, none of these are a real problem. I've handled all of these just fine in the past. Basically you can ignore them and they'll take care of themselves. Just whatever you do, don't let the Republican try to make you responsible for any of it. That's all they ever want to do, make some Democratic President they don't like responsible for other people's problems. My advice? Just ignore them and they'll go away. Believe me, I know what I'm talking about here…. Read the rest here… http://beautifulletters-bls.blogspot.com/2010/11/...
The Arab Republic of Egypt will soon be the Islamic Republic of Egypt
"Egypt is an ally of the US, Iran is an enemy." Yes that is why we should see a difference but, that difference is 180 degrees out from what one would expect it to be. As Iran is an enemy one would have expected loud support for the government to be changed where as Egypt being an ally one would think some support for the government.
As for something Obama could do in which Pam may support is his resignation! I know I would.
Pray that Mubarak hangs on.
I'm currently at a loss. This is a tricky situation. If we had a good President with good values, what's the best course of action? I don't think Pamela spelled out what should be done. Any thoughts?
Get a clue c_robinson, I could point you to many articles where the Muslim in Chief has shown his disdain for Israel. I think everyone remembers the way Benjamin Netanyahu was treated by Obama the last time he was here, an absolute disgrace. The man that sits in the oval office right now is not only the enemy of Israel but also the enemy of America.
A lot more than 600,000 Americans will die if an Iranian missile with a nuclear warhead falls on one of our cities. If that happens, and God forbid it does, the entire world will know it was because Obama had four years' worth of opportunity to do SOMETHING about it and didn't even bother to try. Worse, he was complicit in the success of the Iranians to attain and use nuclear weapons.
Pam and I would not oppose any Obama initiative that would actually HELP this country in terms of its stature, influence, or general well-being. So far, we haven't seen one.
Now ask yourself: What has That One done to earn the respect of those whose politics might differ from his?
• Was it when his so-called "Justice" Department turned a blind eye away from blatant voter intimidation by the New Black Racists in Philadelphia?
• Was it when he confiscated the retirement assets of retired teachers and cops and handed them, complete with a carefully tied ribbon, to careless UAW slobs?
• How about when Mr. Integrity publicly threatened to sic the IRS on the attorneys representing said retirement-fund bondholders if they didn't knuckle under to this outright property theft? Nixon did this, too, and it's part of the reason he got run out of office.
• Was it when he unleashed his rhetorical goons to spend months bellowing "RACIST!" every time someone voiced even the slightest reservation about The Glorious One's policies?
• Or how about when he repeatedly bends over backwards to kiss the asses of the world's worst monsters while serially snubbing our best allies?
• No? Then maybe it was that studied callousness of his as 10 million jobs went poof during his first two years? Was that it?
When The Mendacious One stops simultaneously spanking his frank while congratulating himself in the mirror for being The Greatest Avenging Angel for the Disadvantaged and the Downtrodden the World Has Ever Known, Ms. Geller and the rest of us might develop a modicum of respect for his election to the office, if nothing else. Until then, Mr. Dictator Wannabe can spend the rest of his single, miserable term in the presidential sewer with the likes of Buchanan, Nixon and Carter for all we care.
Obama is having an Carter moment everyday!
I would think a public voice of support for an ally while at the same time openly pushing for Egypt to become a true Democratic state. Thus showing support of both sides while advancing freedom in a peaceful manner.
Obama is worse than Carter. Obama gave every single despot on the planet a big Green light to do what they wanted the minute Obama was inaugurated. OBAMA is the biggest recruiter for Al-Qaeda — Gitmo is nothing.
Within days of his inauguration, the Taliban marched to within 50 miles of the capital of Pakistan. US casualties spiked and remain high in Afghanistan. North Korea, Syria, Lybia, and Iran are emboldened and on the march again. Al-Quada started killing Americans on our own soil again.
Obama is a disaster. This will not end well.
.
.
The events in the Middle East prove he is a failure for Western Civilization and the entire free world, let alone America. This is what warrants a Nobel prize: Nero practicing his bunker shot as the world burns.
Surprisingly, that's sort of what Obama has been doing.
Amen bro. The truly sad thing is that is a very abbreviated list. I could add dozens more.
Will the Great Pyramid soon house uranium centrifuges ?
Mr. President ? C'mon, tell us. Give us a hint.
Not really he has openly supported those in the streets and is pushing the government to give in. Some reports even say that the US has been giving support to those organizing the riots.
At the risk of being too blunt — This is what happens when you elect a Muslim for president.
You obviously do not have much knowledge of history. Planned Parenthood has killed more than all of the world's wars combined- millions. Thank the progressive Margaret Sanger for that. She advocated murder- in the name of progressives.
I find it slightly amusing that trolls like you always offer such great comments. As a troll, you are starting to stink. Did every other basement dwelling, Cheeto eating fool have the day off? It appears so.
When the trouble moves west of Egypt and north of Yemen, we will feel a lot of pain- at the gas pumps. Folks, this is all planned- just to punish hard working, God loving Americans. No drilling in the Gulf? There is a lot of drilling happening off the coast of Brazil (Soros has a huge stake in Petrobras). This is all by design. Pray and keep the faith- we need to rid ourselves of all progressives. If you doubt me, give me a good reason. BTW, this will be the start of the end of the US $ being the world reserve currency. Look at prices at the grocery stores first and then tell me it ain't so.
"Free speech is a human right. Too bad he doesn't believe his own words."
It could be he DOES believe his own words. Unfortunately, as a muslim, he doesn't consider the rest of us to be human.
It depends on who he considers "human". Just an observation.
"Obama became part of the problem"
No Pam, obama has always BEEN the problem. Him and everything he stands for.
Meanwhile, Barry sits on his hands. Is he sending a task force to shore up the Suez canal? He probably will not. Alaska alone sits on billions of barrels of oil ,and we are not even including that which can be extracted stateside. Are we working towards energy independence ? No we are buying from Canada, and other nations. This is by design. The next couple of months, there better be some backbones arising in Washington , and there better be some tough choices finally made, or we are definitely screwed.
"Carter was not 'well-meaning'. Carter is a rabid anti-Semitic. "
Was versus is. The Democratic party is not now what it was then. Same for Carter. Both have always been flawed, but rotted into something far uglier now than they were in 1978.
Carter used to be the worst president, but now Obama is the pea-nuttiest!!
I can't believe that people actually let Obama off the hook here by thinking he is just inept. What about the evidence that his administration actively funded and participated in the protest movements in Egypt? Couple that with the much more forceful rhetoric from his administration basically urging the Egyptian president to step-down. Mass revolts don't just materialize out of nowhere. This president has worked towards this very conclusion. We all know, as well, that no one ever believed that a popular uprising would conclude with anything but the establishment of an islamist state. So what the hell is Obama's end game here?
Don't let this man off the hook by mistaking him for a buffoon. I wish he was just a Carter like buffoon but he is not. I truly and honestly doubt his allegiances when it comes to secular western government and islamic theocracy. I think he is trying to, as subtly as possible, create the conditions necessary for islamists to have the necessary edge to succeed in their attempts to dominate the middle east and destroy Israel.
Obama makes Carter look almost intelligent by comparison. Voters elected Obama on "hope and change", never stopping to ask WHAT exactly is the hope and change? But Obama did say he would fundamentally change America. Again no one in MSM asked. WHY change the American system? So many unanswered questions swirl concerning Obama, that it is near fantasy that some call him potus. Disgusting that the person holding the office of potus demands respect but does nothing to deserve it.
America held hostage, 739 days and counting…
Chairman O plays his fiddle while the world burns.
This might be a little controversial, but I think it makes sense. We want Mubarak to stay in power, that's the ideal choice because his relationship with Israel is vital to the area and our interests. At the same time, we need to allow the people of Egypt to choose their own leader, government, etc, as long as it's not Islamic rule. If Obama were to publicly come out and give strong support to Mubarak that would only enrage these secular protesters even more. I hope in private we are backing Mubarak and telling him to give the people what they want so he can stay in power. After all, who are we to stop the people of Egypt from improving their democracy, much like the people of Tunisia. You have to understand that the protesters and rioters are part of a secular movement and only want to improve their democracy. Mubarak and his government are corrupt, it makes sense for the impoverished citizens to revolt. That's worthy of supporting. But we need to make sure that their protests are not hijacked by extremists that want a theocracy. Despite what some of the comments on here say, I don't think Obama wants Egypt to become an Islamic fascist state.
In contrast to Carter, 0bama is a willful failure.
Yes, indeed. There is something so deeply sinister about these few words spoken about a week before the election of 2008, "….fundamentally transform America….." This is not a plain vanilla election slogan and does not matter how you slice it, interpretation comes always the same it is a call for revolution.
You are a racist pig and an anti Semite, take your Joo-hate and black baby murdering ideology back to the Huffing-Paint Post where that kind of thing is welcomed scumbag!
I agree that many Democrats of generations past were not the hardcore Marxist of today. But Carter was always evil. Here is a long collection of articles from various sources that tell the story on Carter. http://rescueattempt.tripod.com/id24.html
"I don't think Obama wants Egypt to become an Islamic fascist state."
Not yet. The timing is all wrong. It would hurt his reelection bid.
This is worse then Carter. We did not fully arm Iran as of the fall of the Shaw. We have armed Egypt with hundreds of F-16's. Plus the ordinance to go with them. In the wrong hands they will do tremendous damage to Israel. Today Egypt, tomorrow Saudi Arabia, and a decade Israel, then a mushroom cloud, spelling out the words "Never Again."
While Cairo burned Obama ''double dribbled''. What do you expect from a community organizer? No word from Obama, he's too busy to pick up a phone to Murbarak. Clinton gives aid and comfort to [Muslim Brotherhood] by denouncing Murbarak's actions. It's obvious Obama wants Murbarak to be overthrown so that the [Muslim Brotherhood] can take over Egypt. Obama's ultimate goal is for Israel to be destroyed by Radical Islamic States. Obama is the 12th Imam of Islam, the Mahdi. The Islamic Messiah. Hebrew name ABADDON, Latin name EXTERMINANCE …. Exterminator of human pests.
The rich people are fleeing. This aint Tunis and Lee Marvin is dead. Egypt is done. Israel must get ready for that reality, and an Egyptian Air force in potentially hostile hands.
Welcome Back Carter: http://i54.tinypic.com/2hg79jn.jpg
obama never misses an opportunity to miss an opportunity.
Good post but I can't go with you on the last couple of lines. Obama is not the 12th Imam. Obama isn't nearly smart enough to be the 12th Imam (the anti-Christ – same person in my opinion).
There was no popular uprising in Iran to speak of – that was astroturfed and orchestrated by the media (which had to later retract some things because of their misleading reports.)
The uprising in Egypt is real.
I cannot understate the importance of Egypt to American interests and Israeli security.
Move to Israel if you care about it so much. We don't care about Israel. It could vanish tomorrow and our lives would be far better off. Israel is nothing but a bunch of corrupt, backstabbing terrorists. The world will rejoice WHEN they are gone.
You think America should be involved in other countries so you can retain your little exclusive country club created by the UN on Palestinian land. Why?
Obama's ultimate goal is for Israel to be destroyed by Radical Islamic States.
That would save us billions every year – good! Why do you care what happens to Israel?
people who voted for the concept of hope and change, or that this was "an historic moment," should have to be asked to defend that vote now that the dust has settled.
i am more and more convinced that we have a President who is either totally inept, or truly wants to bring down this country.
LOL! Joo-hate? Where?
Everywhere you post DLN, everywhere you post.
The newbie is obviously one of your multitude of clone accounts.
Keep on playing with yourself little boy, we're not interested in what you're peddling no matter how you try to package it.
You should return to your masters at Huffing-Paint Post, Media Murders and PPI now, tell them Missy8s says FU&K OFF!
As an Anti Semite / Racist you should fully appreciate how much Arianna Huffing-Paint, David Brock and John Podesta go out of their way to make you feel welcome in their little make believe world.
Run along little boy.
Not only Ms. Geller, but the vast majority of Americans would support Obama…if we believed he was going something-anything-that was right for America. But, at least to we who are conservatives, it appears he almost always selects the worst possible course for America.
Obama's legacy will be laying the seeds for World War III. Stretching from Morocco to Pakistan will be the rise of a massive Islamic Superpower that will threaten world peace like never before…it is only then that the entire world will unite and destroy them once and for all.
Sharia Law is an insidious tyranny of demonic proportions. It contradicts the sovereign ruler of all human kind, the Constitution…the True Law. This will be like the old battle in the "Why We Fight" series: the Free World v. the Slave World.
The left wing in our country are in league with these filthy bastards. Make no mistake.
The media (including Fox, mainly via the idiot Geraldo) are pushing this heavily as a secular – or at least an "organic" – uprising.
Baloney.
That's wishful thinking.
They cite the apparent lack of any anti-American activity as evidence of…something, but no one can say exactly what it's evidence of.
If the Muslim Brotherhood did not put this whole thing together, they are surely the only ones with the organizational chops to step in and run things once Mubarak is gone – and he will be.
El Baredai is their front man. They have already come out in favor of his taking the reins.
Mubarak is a dictator, but nowhere as bad as a Brotherhood-run Egypt will be. This is a disaster for Israel, and for Christians in Egypt, who will be run out in short order.
The dominoes are falling – first Lebanon to Hezbollah, now Egypt to the Brotherhood. They will align with Hamas in Gaza, and from there take over the Palestinian Authority.
Then Jordan, and possibly Saudi Arabia.
President Jughead is no doubt very, very pleased.
It's safe to say Egypt is completely out of control.
Hilary Clinton isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer.
Outcome looks to be a worse case scenario for freedom.
Egypt may be done in the sense that our strong influence over the country may be done. But if Mubarak falls out of power, it shouldn't be assumed that his successors will be bent on pursuing a radical anti-American policy. We may very well see a new Egypt modeled after Turkey.
We need a new William F. Buckley to rid the party of the loons, conspiracy theorists, and other paranoid individuals. Read more Krauthammer, less Beck.
Your statement proves Obama's is on the wrong side of whats good for USA
Iran is an enemy, so Obama ignores the people in the streets demanding freedom and rejecting oppression. Missing a Huge oppertunity to oust the Mullahs once and for all but he didn't want to upset an enemy.
Egypt is an ally, Obama quickly throws Mubarak under the bus despite the fact that Mubarak has been a strong ally against radical Islamist.
Obama has not lost anything. This is what he wants. He is not available now because he is on a family retreat …. again! There is a crisis going on. He is not a man of strength and integrity and does not serve and protect the United States of America in his role.
The sad fact is most people under 30 have no clue how bad Carter was all they know is he is nice guy who builds homes for the poor..
“It has been reported that the Muslim Brotherhood is behind the rioting in the streets of Egypt”
And another report says that the Obama administration is behind it. Hmmm, working together, or maybe one and the same?
Does it seem like Obama has it backwards or is playing for the other side. How else can you explain this?
Iran is an ENEMY, so Obama ignores the people in the streets demanding freedom & were rejecting oppression. Missing a Huge oppertunity to oust the Mullahs once and for all but he didn't want to upset an enemy.
Egypt is an ally, Obama quickly throws Mubarak under the bus despite the fact that Mubarak has been a strong ally against radical Islamist for decades.
The Middle East is full of countries that are run by elitist, let 'em eat cake, "dicktators", that are beyond corrupt and self-serving.
This has not gone unnoticed by the mass who are poor, lack opportunity, and easily swayed by radical Islamists, IRAN, who are nothing if not more corrupt and totally anti American.
This is now a big problem, Mr Obama.
< Ann knows you'll pay attention to this after you "fix " the American economy >:-(
Nopt possible. The egypt of today, as well as the Turkey of today, is not tolerant of non-muslims. A great photo of the graduating class of an Egyptian college says it all in the late 70's woman wore shorts and t-shirts. Then they put up one from a recent class – all in burqas. Your perception of Turkey as a secular state is one of the past. Those days are gone. The future just got dimmer for Israel. This will be remembered the same way we remember Carter failing to either prop up the Shaw or annihilate the islamic terrorists and rescue the hostages – que the sky jacking tapes, the aquile lauro, and all the rest. These people mean to kill us they do not want peace they need Egypt's weapons and territory. Don't buy into the BS of democracy of the protestors protesting a dictator. That is the reality, we in The United Stats of America are the only exception to it. That is until Obamacare, but we are working on that:)
"We don't care about Israel."
We? Again, knownothing speaks for himself and the turd in his pocket.
So…..when will the mass construction of vaults begin? Dibs at vault 70
Yeah, I easily foresee an even more totalitarian state emerging from the ashes of another dictatorship should this uprising be successful. One doesn't even need to look through the eye of Tzeentch to see this coming.
It's a giant cluster funk. I pray that a new Reaganite will step forward to undo all the damage, and set everything right.
A real patriot might be able to solve the problem we have with presidunce obungle. That is if he is a very good shot. I am not advocating the shooting of the idiot, what I am saying is that it would not distress me to see a tragic hunting accident happen to odumdum.
Krauthammer? You mean the guy we never know which side he's going to land on, all depends on what side of the bed he gets up on, that guy? Look, Charlie is GREAT at time and completely and insanely wrong at other times – you'd be rather foolish to place all your stock in his words – some, yes, but not everything. There are other great minds out there and should be read with equal vigor.
Even my democrat son (why, God, why?) said — it takes a Carter to get a Reagan. I think he saw it on a bumper sticker.
The fall out from this won't be pretty, but it was not 'planned' – it actually goes against dumbsh** barry and all the environutjobs – whoever runs on drill baby drill will come out ahead in this twisted game –
What is happening in the ME had alot of help and understand some of the biggest players involved include that skank jodie from code pink and all those belly crawling wierdos.
What evidence? The little dork that wikileaks say they helped? Don't kid yourself, I know barry is most likely mooslum, and peeing all over himself with joy that this is happening, but the players in this charade are far far far more powerful than our puppet master –
The only thing barry needed to do was say he stands with those seeking freedom – nothing more, nothing less – instead of boxing himself into a corner, as usual.
I agree with you, he is not inept, he is quite the skilled manipulater – a liftetime of grooming will produce that.
Correction Charlie, knowthing is a little girl, paid by the line to spout unintelligent silly lefty lines ~
It's neither – it began in earnest with people being emboldened by what started in Tanisia (sp) and is being pushed further with the 'help' of the MB –
The idiots running our country couldn't put this together, but soros and code pink could, and somehow they are involved.
Ya know Dave …I'm a lady and all I can say at this point in time (to remain a lady) –
Carter can suck your big Toe and Obama can suck my husbands …um, er much Bigger Toe.
Gee, for Obama a "Carter" moment is an improvement.
Apart from the obvious moral/philosophical issue of what you agree on as being a life I think you'll find that poverty, disease, natural and man made catastrophes account for more deaths than as a result of a few guys blowing their loads in a Trojan!
You are joking surely? The failure of the US air force to ensure they had helicopters that wouldn't break down resulted in the rise of Islamic Jihad? Are you people children or something? You've had plenty of crummy presidents to choose from, GW for one but let's hear it for the drunken, paranoid and let's face it, criminal Nixon!
"I cannot understate the importance of Egypt to American interests and Israeli security." Should be: One should not understate . . . . OR I cannot overstate . . . . .

Honestly, who cares? The only people for whom birth control is an issue are catholic zealots and religious nutjobs in general. Fact is, generations of women now have some choice about whether they have children or not and how man. Millions of poor have a little more control over whether or not they get poorer. Oh, and a greater number of children are born to people who want them and can look after them. If you think that's a bad thing I suspect your value system needs looking at.
Can I remind you and the other retards on this website that your President INHERITED the financial sh!tstorm from his predecessor who, can I remind you, took office with no wars to fight and an economy in fine health. The Bush/Cheney policy of allowing Wall Street to do whatever it liked resulted in disaster for the US and just about everyone else. He also left two costly and damaging wars raging for Obama to sort out, so blaming your President is like setting fire to your own house and throwing abuse at the fire-fighters!
This is 1939 all over again with nukes. "Peace in our time". And no Churchill in site. WTF
