Barack Obama Is Making Me Laugh
by Pamela GellerI sat chuckling all through Obama’s immigration speech Thursday. Forgive me, but that has been my recent response whenever I listen to Obama’s speechifying. I am somewhat surprised at my recent response to his outlandish rhetoric, but he makes such a mockery of his very words, of America, and of capitalism, that he is, invariably, comical.
He recited Emma Lazarus’s poem “The New Colossus,” which is engraved at the base of the Statue of Liberty, yet he has disparaged American exceptionalism and prides himself on being post-American. How can you not bust a gut?
So I listened to his speech on immigration and chuckled as he lectured us, yet again, on what America is — as if he had a clue about what America is. His contempt for us is so palpable. As if he had any respect for what makes America great – free speech, individual rights, entrepreneurship, and privacy rights. As if he had a clue as to why legal immigrants come here — to escape tyrants and would-be tyrants like him.
I understand why he must ram immigration through now. And why he is taking this issue on now after destroying the American healthcare system. He has no shot of re-election without a base of amnestied illegal immigrants voting for Democrats. It is his only motive — but I digress.
What about the Gulf? This is a catastrophe of unfathomable proportions, the decades-long repercussions of which have not yet begun to be understood or calculated. What about those people, those communities? Whole swaths of coastline, entire towns, even entire counties may face evacuation.
Why isn’t the President of the United States working on the problem 24/7? I want to know why the nation’s Chief Executive has not been holed up in a war room, 24 hours a day, seven days a week for the past 72 days, working with the world’s finest scientific minds and oceanographic and energy experts to solve the oil spill crisis.
Where is the BP war room? And why isn’t the POTUS in it? Why isn’t Obama attached at the hip to BP executives and to every oil specialist in such matters, working on the “leak” until it is fixed? Why weren’t the best brains in NASA brought in — as opposed to Obama’s redirecting their efforts to “help Muslim countries”?
Why isn’t the President of the United States accepting the myriad offers of help from allied nations?
Why are the images being hidden from view? Why are folks prohibited from certain areas? Why isn’t there wall-to-wall on-scene coverage, as there was of the Valdez oil spill — which looks lilliputian next to this Obama disaster?
In 2005, a devastating act of G-d, hurricane Katrina busted the levies and blew out New Orleans. It was an historic tragedy, and we will never forget it. How could we? The media beat us to death with story after story about George W. Bush’s incompetence (as if he were G-d).
Do you remember how the media fought under the Freedom of Information Act to print pictures of bodies floating in the water? They wanted to make every death a case of murder — perp? Bush. They were relentless.
But looking back after the Gulf oil spill, it is clear that Bush did a damn fine job, considering the Democratic opposition he had to work with in Louisiana. The Democratic state of Louisiana failed abysmally. The “chocolate city” mayor Ray Nagin refused to evacuate. The fact is that the loss of life and the destruction wrought by Hurricane Katrina was glaring proof of the failure of the welfare state, a.k.a. the Democrats’ statism model. It was a Democrat mayor, a Democrat governor, and a Democrat political machine in Louisiana that were responsible for the lack of action, response and coordination of pre- and post-Katrina efforts (and to ABC’s surprise, Katrina victims praised Bush and blamed Nagin).
The surrounding Republican states suffered horribly from Katrina and Rita, but you never heard about them.
Fast forward to this nation’s worst disaster and even more disastrously handled catastrophe — Oilbama. Obama has taken the position of a spectator as the Gulf disappears. Amnesty for illegal aliens — that’s what’s important.
Who would you rather be in charge during the BP spill? Bush or Bama? We should not be subjected any more of Obama’s speechifying and verbal diarrhea until he finds and implements a solution to the Gulf crisis.
I have come a long way from when I would listen with trepidation and fear for our nation, so under his spell was America. He has long since been exposed as a clown. And folks, if they listen, can’t help but see that. Watch him, and sit back and laugh.

On April 21st an oil well exploded in the Gulf of Mexico miles from America’s shore, it was and is the beginnings of an ongoing environmental and economic disaster. From day one, the Obama Administration claims, their Administration has been engaged in stopping the millions of gallons of oil from being released into the Gulf of Mexico. Taken at their word, which in and of itself is hard to do, some worrisome facts come to mind. We could start with the float trip down the Grand Canyon taken one day AFTER the explosion occurred, enjoyed by one of Obama’s top Environmental Directors and his wife. They say they spent their own money, thank goodness! We will take them at their word. Was the Grand Canyon water clear of any oil slicks? Or ALL of the events the Obama’s have enjoyed the past 70 days, concerts, political fundraisers, and of course, the President’s multiple golf outings. How the President with two wars under way, an International Financial crisis, 10% unemployment, an illegal immigration nightmare and an ecological disaster of Biblical proportion occurring manages more golf outings than say, a Bartender, is astounding when you really stop to think about it.
So since the beginning of this ecological disaster, over 70 days, the Obama Administration declares they have done everything possible, including receiving a commitment from British Petroleum of $20,000,000,000 for economic restitution! There is one very disturbing fundamental fact that has been recently brought to light, but there have been murmurs of it for weeks. This FACT defies all emotion and logic and must bring tears to every American’s eyes. If it does not, than truly you are not listening to what has occurred. We are bombarded with information, please take a moment and process what has occurred.
For 70 Days, with an open wound bleeding oil into the Gulf of Mexico’s vibrant waters, the Obama Administration has refused the help of the rest of the World. It is incredulous. Other Countries have been willing and ABLE to help us since day one, yet the Obama Administration has REFUSED their help. Not because they could not help us. Not because we were afraid of them. Not because they wanted too much money. Not because we thought we would not need their help, as the problem was soon to be solved. WHY? WHY? 70 Days into this disaster and NOW he is willing to accept help from the World Community? Our friends? Does anyone share the sense of utter outrage? How much oil has entered the waters that could have been siphoned off? How many lives are ruined that did not have to be? How many animals are dead? Beaches destroyed? All Obama had to do was say Yes, please help us. We need all the help we can get. How do you say no?
Impeach this imbecile. If his Administration is fully engaged, what are we going to do when they are looking the other way? China? Russia? Venezuala? Give us back our Oil Rigs you Chavista thieves!

I don't know why people are surprised by Obama. I was clear on exactly who he was and what he wanted to do to America before he was elected – and he hasn't disappointed, if you are just considering that he is doing what he planned to do. Obama scared me when he was a Senator, because he is SUCH a big Socialist – and a racist – and he is even scarier as President. He IS remaking the united States in the image he desires. Unfortunately that image looks nothing like the United States the majority of the American people desire. My only prayer is that the American people wake up from this nightmare, throw the Dems out of Washington in November, and throw Obama out in 2012. I never dreamed that, in my lifetime, there could be a worse President than Jimmy Carter, but we're living it now.

Spliff and Rick – Just wanted to answer your question about the hyphen. For many Jews, this is used a sign of respect for the Almighty. That is, it is deemed disrespectful to actually write out His name (whether this flows from the third Commandment or not, I am not sure). I'm not Jewish myself, and I don't know if Pamela is, but this is typically the spelling used by religious Jews to show respect for the Lord. Hope that helps.

In answer to your question, for all his faults, I think President Bush would've been on the oil spill ASAP if not immediately, hopefully learning from mistakes with Katrina. I'd also like to believe he wouldn't have denied outside help when it was first offered.

Then later on towards the end he said our country is un-American and wrong for not granting them across the board amesty. Like a five year old he just mumbles preposterous words and spins a pack of lies to give carte blanche rights to a group of people who have no business being here in the first place. Never did he mention that "illegal immigratation" is a crime against currert federal law, and he wasted no time blasting Arizona for upholding these very same laws. His speech came across as divisive and was loaded with unmatched racism that our nation has never before seen from a president. He has done more damage to American prestige that he has become the laughing stock both domestically and globally. He is not fit to be president, rather he deserves to be hung up by his ankles and strung out to dry.
Had a depate with a troll (NYCArchitect) yesterday. One of his views was that Bush was at fault for 9/11 since it happened on his watch. I asked if then Obama was to blame for the gulf oil spill since it happened on his watch. I was told that this made no sense and he refused to answer my question. This is how the left operates. Blame everything, absolutely everything that goes wrong on a Republican (preferably Bush) and take credit for anything that is or can be spun positive (Pelosi saying that unemplyment benefits create jobs). BP pays the US govt for the permit to drill in federal waters.
BP Pays royalties to said Govt for the oil being extracted.
An accident (ie spill) happens.
The response to said accident is the responsibility of the Federal Govt. The same ones who issued the permit and receive payment for what is extracted.
By law, the job falls on the feds to contain, remedy the source and clean up the mess.
It is then the feds job to pursue the responsible party for payment.

Does the Gulf spill not qualify?
If you are on your property digging a trench and happen to break the gas line to your house, are you allowed to touch that gas line? Even though it is on your property? NO. You had to enter into a contract with this group to have them provide it to you. The company that provides you the gas has the property rights to the equipment that is on your property. Even though you are paying for the gas, it is not your responsibility to 'fix it'. That responsibility belongs to the person you lease it from. Now, reverse the situation. You are BP and are paying the US a fee to dig on their property. You (BP) break the line in the ground, The Company (the US) is responsible to come a fix the problem created by you (BP) and then send you the bill. You (BP) pay the bill, or the Company (THE US) will cut you off.

People who are surprised by Obama are pathetic. I'm Independent (bordering on Libertarian) but when he first came to national attention, I was impressed and was thinking of working for his campaign. First I thought it would be wise to investigate him fully and read his books. It didn't take long–especially after his Rev. Wright and Bill Ayers associations were revealed (and when he threw his white grandmother under the bus)–to realize that he was a fraud and a coward. Then when I learned he never had an actual job, was never a real “Professor," surrendered his law license under dubious circumstances, wouldn't release his school records or Harvard Law review articles–or even his original birth certificate—and that his voting record in the Illinois and U.S. Senate were abysmal, I was done with him. Why wasn't EVERYONE else? Why didn't the people who voted for this thug do their homework? The cynical side of me says that they did, but because they agreed with him (and because he’s black), it didn't matter. That's what scares me the most. We have millions of people in this country who want to destroy us right along with him.

If any of them had any brains, if what the excuse for illegal immigrants is is true (that they only come to the US for a better life, not for the welfare), they would question what is the point of coming to The Land of Opportunity if the president of that land has said that "there comes a time when you've earned enough."
Why would any ambitious immigrant want to come to a place where their opportunity was limited by the whim of the prick who runs the country's government? The answer, of course, is that most illegal immigrants are just as much bottom feeding parasite scumbags as is Obama, none of them have goal of anything beyond getting a free ride.

Note the part about "Affirmation". Taking an oath is considered a violation of the 3rd Commandment, and so by the Constitution people may instead make an affirmation. This extends to testifying in court.
