Call For An Audit of Obama’s Campaign Finances
by Pamela GellerIn light of the long-overdue ruling by the Supreme Court to throw out the free-speech-killing and unconstitutional McCain-Feingold finance law (was there ever a more destructive, corrupting influence on elections ever?), it is a good time to revisit the active complaint to the Federal Elections Commission over Barack Obama’s campaign finances.
Back when Obama was running for President, I broke a number of campaign donation stories that should have blown the race wide open. The Obama campaign committed the most egregious violations of election contribution laws, and they were dismissed with a wave of the hand. Millions came in from foreign countries — which is illegal: the Federal Election Campaign Act (FECA) “prohibits any foreign national from contributing, donating or spending funds in connection with any federal, state, or local election in the United States, either directly or indirectly.”
I broke the jaw-dropping story about how tens of thousands of dollars came in to the Obama campaign from a Hamas-controlled camp in Gaza. Al-Jazeera actually ran video of Obama phone banks in Gaza. One large contributor to the Obama campaign was Monir Edwan, who was listed on FEC documents as contributing to Obama from the city of Rafah in the state “GA.” If you were reading quickly, you might have thought it was just a contribution from Georgia. But there is no city of Rafah in the Peach State. Monir Edwan sent money to Obama from Rafah, Gaza.
Monir Edwan, one of Obama’s Gazan donors, said he sold Obama t-shirts that the campaign had sent him in Gaza for around $9, and that a profit was made. “Some young men,” Edwan explained, “even bought the T-shirts for 60 shekel ($17.29), which is a lot to spend in Gaza on a t-shirt, but that is how much Gazans like Obama.” I love it: jihadis in Obama Tees. How fitting.
On Watchdog.net, a site that monitors campaign contributions, Monir Edwan is listed as Barack Obama’s Top Contributor, giving $24,313 between October 27, 2007 and November 11, 2007. However, although it gives zip codes and other details for the other four of Obama’s top five individual contributors, it provides no additional information at all for Monir Edwan — and Edwan’s link is the only dead one on the Watchdog page.
Why did Palestinians in a Gaza refugee camp have such love for Obama in the summer of 2008? Did they know he was going to run a virulently anti-Israel, pro-jihad presidency?
Gaza was not alone. The contributions came from over 50 nations. And many seemed intent on skirting campaign finance laws: Obama’s foreign contributors were making multiple small donations, ostensibly in their own names, over a period of a few days, some under maximum donation allowances — but others were aggregating in excess of the maximums when their contributions were all added up. Other donations came in from donors with names such as “Hbkjb,” “jkbkj,” and “Doodad.” Also, thousands of Obama’s foreign donations ended in cents. This was evidence of foreign contributors sending in donations in foreign currencies that exchanged into odd amounts. Americans living overseas would almost uniformly be able to contribute dollars, in set amounts.
The Obama campaign received a substantial amount of money from countries that have an interest in seeing a weak American President: $366,708.22 from China; $25,259.00 from the United Arab Emirates; $7,062.60 from Russia; and $6,716.28 from Saudi Arabia. Obama also took in $6,350.00 from Indonesia; $5,000.00 from Kenya; and $1,750.00 from Egypt.
The FEC alleges that Obama also illegally took donations from Tamil Tiger leaders. The Tamil Tigers are, according to the FBI, the most successful terrorist group in the world. While the Hillary Clinton returned contributions from the Tamil Tigers, Obama kept them.
There are many other questions and mysteries regarding Obama’s campaign finances. The Puma P.A.C. blog notes: “Obama spent a record $744 million on his campaign but has disclosed donors for only $485 million of his windfall.”
It is important to point out that I had also reviewed John McCain’s donations — and they were so clean you could eat off ‘em.
And now the influence peddling has manifested itself in Obama’s catastrophic first year.
The FEC generally takes several years to process a complaint, and their statutory limit is five years. The commission still needs to vote on any action, but if they decline, the complainant can sue the FEC. So the complaint is ongoing.
If justice is to be done, Barack Obama will have to own up to his violations of campaign finance law, and pay the political price. An audit of Obama’s campaign finances is long overdue.

Thanks for bringing this up again. It was outrageous how blatantly Obama's campaign was flouting the law when it came to fundraising, especially regarding foreign donations. No one cared. I still doubt this issue will get any traction. Why do we even have these laws? It only hobbles honorable men while the rest can claim an unfair advantage. I'm looking at you Barack.

Though Obama has the control to keep an investigation from happening while he is in power, we should not let any of these illegal activities be brushed under the rug when he looses it. And he is in the process of loosing it…..his slide in the polls, we haven't seen nothing yet. And as the MSM is viewed with a jaundice eye these days, this story will take off. Maybe just in time for the 2012 elections. As much as the left would like to think the American public is anti Israel, we are not and this will resonate with them if they hear it. The ever intrepid NY Post ran a story on this before the election. They told of people (employees, perhaps?) sending in contributions where the names on the cards didn't match the names of the donors, where donor names like Osama bin Laden didn't get kicked out of the computer, where donors used the same card under multiple addresses and names and the regulatory program designed to prevent just this sort of thing didn't kick them back. They went on to say that when they tried to do this for John McCain, the regulatory program was working JUST FINE and kicked back all the circumspect donations. God love the NY Post, they were the only ones who mentioned this at the time.

I believe this is why Obama is upset over the latest SCOTUS ruling on campaign finance. McCain-Feingold gave the democrats a distinct advantage. It's one thing when one side plays by the rules and the other doesn't but when the rules are written to favor one over the other cheating only increases the handicap to the honest layer. As it is the realm of political finance has been returned to a free for all which, these days, is about as even as the odds can get. It's messy but sometime that's just what it takes.

Remember credit card vetting was turned off by the Obama campaign? They could receive many small donations from donors like "Donald Duck" without verifying the country of origin and whether individual donation limits were being exceeded. Still boils my blood to remember.

This is the first time I have read anything posted by Ms. Geller. I would love to know who made the complaint to the FEC, who is on the FEC and whether it is Obama appointees or non-partisan appointees (and if so – who appointed them), are they appointed permanently or at whim, and how we can contact them to put some pressure on them.
If these allegations are true, they should be grounds for impeachment.
I think they should wait to call for an audit until after more republicans can take up the House and Senate. If they call for an audit now, it will just be outvoted by the Dems.

I have been in the merchant end of credit card processing for over 20 years. It is very easy to print a report to identify who used a credit card. Also, the gift cards can be easily tracked to the location they were purchased, date, time, etc.
I remember well the phoney bs spewed by the Obama campaign as to weather or not cards could be tracked and if address info could be confirmed.

I am Australian. I know that it would be inappropriate for me to donate to any campaign in the USA. At the same time I read about the Clinton donors. Whilst those donors were not ethical, Clinton is to be applauded because she sent back the money where it was suspect.
I think that the Citizens United decision will have a lot of ramifications. This is definitely one of the issues that needs to be examined in the future. Perhaps after November when the Dems lose control of Congress, there just might be that opportunity to do a bit of discovery.

Being Attorney General for the world is more important to Holder than being AG for the USA.
The House of Rep. initiates Impeachments proceedings and the Senate does the trial. We need a majority of Repubs in the House and Senate to successfully get impeachment. November 2010.

This is a key piece of information. Recently I have been elected as a minor election clerk. But I intend to use my office as much as I can to make a difference in matters such as these.
1. Obama’s election money came from dubious and sometimes foreign sources.
2. Obama initially hid, but later had to reveal, hundreds of thousands in payments to union contractors and ACORN during the campaign.
3. Acorn is later accused of helping steal the election.
4. Acorn’s founder, George Soros, funds the election of “secretaries of state” each of whom was associated with election fraud before election.
But each of these facts is minor.
For 1, the election money is mostly US based.
For 2, the Acorn payments were less than 1% of total outlays for the campaign.
For 3, the Acorn accusations have never been proved.
For 4, George Soros is not in jail or even indicted of any crime.
So we have nothing now, and your accusations come to naught in a court of law. What we need is PROOF!!!
Here’s my suggestion, instead of spinning wheels, let’s take a page from Hannah Giles and expose these rats. Let’s pose as various people, and call the secretaries of states, the underlings of George Soros, the foreign donors to Obama’s campaigns seeking payback, and call each of these guy’s listed numbers directly, recording the conversations.
By the end of the phone list, emails, and visits in person if needed we should have all the truth we could ever want about this. If Obama solicited foreign donations, we just call the people who we think he solicited, and pretend to be offering money for an expansion, while asking for a “report” on what was done and how it can be improved.
This isn’t rocket science, people. I’ll lay down my life to make this possible, if anyone fears retribution.
We know that campaign posters are all around urban polling places, yet we don’t take them down, we walk past them. If we don’t make the effort to clean the mess up, we deserve to live in it. We can complain that someone else made the mess, or we can clean it up. One way makes the problem worse, leaving us a bunch of whiny messy people, the other way solves the problem!
People, if the cops won't help, the people must protect the peace.You must do this investigation as best as you can legally. It's not against any law to call and ask questions. Moral people will eventually answer the phone and tell us the truth eventually… Let's get a phone, email list going as to who we need to contact and inquire to. Don't expect Glenn Beck or Republican Senators to fix anything. Who will make the calls and report back to BigGovernment.com about the conversation?

While we're on the subject of prison, how about the fraud committed by Barney Frank, Maxine Waters, Chris Dodd, et al. with respect to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac—fraud that directly caused the worldwide financial collapse in the fall of 2008? People are starving in Third World countries right now because of the domino-effect economic collapse that started with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Barney Frank should be indicted for crimes against humanity.
Honey, I called Hannity Radio Show way back when I sent the list to Pamela…I got treated as conspiracy theory nutcase by Hannity phone filter lady. I tried to explain it cross referenced on the FEC website receipts-but she was not interested, too bad, because I called Hannity radio show back in July-2008-He's got to know about it b/c he mentioned it when Pamela was on Great American Panel.
I have no idea why it has not gotten more press b/c it is blatant and well documented.
