ACORN Throws Out Republican Voter Registrations
by Pamela GellerACORN wants people to register to vote – as long as they’re Democrats. Republican registrations go into the trash.
Here is a first-hand account of how it happens. In February 2008, Fathiyyah Muhammad of Jacksonville, Florida, heard that ACORN was paying people three dollars for each voter they could register. ACORN paid her three dollars for each voter she registered, but Fatiyyah Muhammad says that the group threw out her votes and fired her when she brought them registrations of Republican voters.
Fathiyyah Muhammad voted for Obama. “I’m a Republican,” she says, “and this was the first time that I voted for a Democrat since JFK…. I’m one of those rare birds, a black conservative Republican, and actually this is the black conservative capital of the country, Jacksonville, Florida.” She is an entrepreneur and a great American: she makes custom caps for her businesses Bilal’s Custom Caps and Only in America. She and her James have made custom caps for politicians, sports heroes, musicians, and others. “America,” she says, “is the place you can live your dreams if you work at it.” She’s a can-do woman with a great American spirit, and when she saw what was breaking in the news about ACORN, she came forward; I interviewed her Monday morning.
“This is my first experience” with ACORN, Muhammad said. “This was before Obama got the nomination, long before then….I heard about this group that was paying $3.00 per person, to go out and to get people to sign up to vote. So I went over, I thought that well this is a good way to make some money because I know everybody, you know. I went over there and this guy signed me up and everything, and gave me my little pad, all this stuff.”
Muhammad went to the ACORN office in Jacksonville. There she encountered a young man speaking to a room of about twenty people. “He was telling us, you know, about his experience, he was from Brooklyn, he wasn’t from this area. He was just here recruiting people to register people to vote. They had a big office here, and I would say maybe about ten or twelve people at there.”
She went to work: “Well, I went out and got a lot of people, homeless people, but of course I signed everybody up as a Republican, and I would have put people had they been Democrats.” She was not forcing people to sign up as Republicans: “You could put down anything you wanted.” But when she got back to ACORN, a group leader was not pleased: “So I showed what I had, and he said, “No, no, you a fraud, there can’t be any black Republicans,’ and oh, he just kind of hung me out to dry…. But of course their main aim was to register only Democrats. They’re not interested in registering Republicans.”
She saw ACORN officials in Jacksonville throw out the Republican registrations she made. “They just discarded those, they weren’t valid. All of the registrations… they just threw those out.” Yet she says that she is sure that the people she registered were actually going to vote: “Yes, they all were going to vote, I just didn’t want to get anybody just to get the three dollars, I wasn’t desperate for three dollars.”
ACORN did not honor its agreement to pay three dollars for each registered voter. “He took my papers,” says Muhammad, “didn’t pay me anything and I just left, I just figured that this is just another scam…. Everyone else got paid, all the other people got paid, but I didn’t. And I didn’t make a big deal about it, I just figured that it was another one of life’s experiences.”
Fatiyyah Muhammad didn’t know anything about ACORN at that time. She didn’t know that ACORN has been doing this for a long time. As far back as November 2006 the organization was indicted for some 40,000 illegal voter registrations, and that was before any of the recent revelations.
Now Fatiyyah Muhammad says: “I can’t believe that they got away with it for so long.” And she wants her story to be told: “How are you going to shine a light on the laundry if you don’t want to come out and say what happened?”
Fatiyyah Muhammad is unafraid to shine that light. And her testimony is another nail in the coffin of the community organizers of ACORN and their stealth agenda.

Love Pam Geller and her thread at Atlas Shrugged. She is always out front, taking the heat. Would love to see more of her here. She is always correct in her assessments.
Thanks Pamela. I saw this yesterday. Fortunate for alFranken, this seems to work.
What a surprise. This gift just keeps on giving!

So when are we going to be able to question the legitimacy of the 2008 election results? Gore was able to bring his "hanging chad" case before the courts citing voter fraud. When do the Republicans get the same opportunity?
Republican voter registrations were thrown out. Mickey Mouse voted. I think there is a case.
ACORN wouldn't have a political agenda… they're a non-partisan organization.
great article, Pamela.
I bet you could multiply Muhammad's experience by hundreds to see the nasty fraud of ACORN on this one issue. She is brave to come forward…just watch your back…thanks for your bravery and honesty!
" I just figured that this is just another scam…. "
Fathiyyah Muhammad your a true American. Thank You!
Well I guess then if were to go the route of Bertha Lewis we could accuse them of being racists since according to Democrats all Republicans are white…
But of course we won't stoop to their level… the level of stupidity…
I am glad though to see the courage of Fatiyyah Muhammad to stand up to the status quo built by Democrats and ACORN…
This should also be national news. Please keep this up front for everyone to see. This should not be let to die like other news worthy stories. We need more people like Fathiyyah Muhammad to step up and tell their story. Keep up the pressure and lets watch the downfall of ACORN!!!
It seems that every election from 06 through 08 needs to be checked thoroughly.Fourteen states investigating voter registration fraud will explode to fifty. It's a slow process because the Lame Street Media won't even report on the known 14 states much less report this horrific story.Because of Obama and the democrats some nasty layers of government are being peeled back.
Why am I not surprised? I still chuckle at people around here who think Acorn is a non-political/partisan group. This is just one more story to direct them to!
Why am I not surprised. Shut them down!
o/t but was asked to pass this along. Thought BG posters would like this bill –
Subject: HR 615 – Please forward to everyone you know
On Tuesday, the Senate health committee voted 12-11 in favor of a two-page amendment, courtesy of Republican Tom Coburn which would require all Members of Congress and their staff members to enroll in any new government-run health plan.
Congressman John Fleming has proposed an amendment that would require Congressmen and Senators to take the same health care plan that they would force on us.. (Under proposed legislation they are exempt.)
Congressman Fleming is encouraging people to go to his Website and sign his petition. The process is very simple. I have done just that at:
http://fleming.house.gov/index.html
Senator Coburn and Congressman Fleming are both physicians. Regardless of your political beliefs, it sure seems reasonable that Congress should have exactly the same medical coverage that they impose on the rest of us.
Let's make this go viral, folks!!! Please urge as many people as you can to do the same!
Thanks Doc.
Tom Coburn is a good guy. Honorable.
Pamela is a one woman power house. If you don't know her, get thee to her blog Atlas Shruggs.

Doc,
Your link doesn't work.
Must go back further, at least to 2002. Remember, Thee Won first came out as a "rising star" in 2004, when he had 5 years less "experience" than he does now, and prescient people were saying wow, he could be … president! They already had a plan. They were getting incumbents in place already, and getting the DNC stacked and so on, so that when 2008 came along they were able to launch him.
What do we live in, a banana republic? I question the total validity of the 2008 elections after all of this ACORN mess is starting to come to light. I think we should have a re-do. I’m happy to see that Ms. Geller is posting articles here at Big Government. I used to post on Little Green Footballs and don’t anymore partly due to Charles Johnson’s treatment of Ms. Gellar and her website. Plus Johnson’s showing his true colors now and I cannot stand to go there anymore. As to Ms. Mohammad I salute you for your courage in coming forward and telling your story. ACORN needs to be brought up on Federal charges for voter fraud as well as the numerous RICO charges. Keep up the great work BG and Pam Gellar!
Thanks for the link, it was quick and easy.
I'm from Jacksonville and this area does have a good bit of black republicans. Because of the Bible Belt, many traditional blacks have a real problem with the left's social agenda, i.e. gay marriage, abortion, etc. I checked into this a few weeks ago. ACORN is no longer operating in this city in any official capacity. Their website, part of myflorida.gov, was hacked and never reconstituted. However, in that website were some nice pictures of our cowardly "republican" governor, Charlie Crist. ACORN doesn't have anywhere near the support down here that they do in the big cities, except of course, for Corrine Brown's retarded @$$. Be that as it may, this really should call into question any election in which ACORN participated. Unfortunately, they won't be; but, future elections can and should be saved.
I read once that the "Black Republican Conservatives" , which there are many, are much too afraid to speak up. They are physically intergrated with the black obama supporters and fear for their lives and personal property. A very sad thing.
Little green Footballs and Charlie Johnson is a joke. Apparently he is a little man with a king sized ego and a small tool who can't tolerate being bested by a woman with brains.
Not surprised. In Florida we're used to folks from up North coming down here and taking over like mobsters. Even the suburbanites fleeing New Jersey show up here all full of themselves and their laughable concept of their own elitism. . . and proceed to tell everyone around them– loudly– how wrong we all are, how stupid, how provincial. It's not a color thing, it's a power-play.
It's mostly harmless fun to watch, but not when they are suborning the electorate. That makes us mad enough to no longer help them properly identify the snakes, spiders, roaches, scorpions, fire ants, and possums they keep finding in their house.
Bless their hearts. . .
.
Thank you for having the courage to stand up, Fathiyyah. You deserve a medal of courage. True Great American.
Proud of you…………………..
This raises questions of Obama's rigged election. I believe they steered the outcome of the election in those normally red states (Virginia, North Carolina, Ohio).
I agree. If election fraud really starts getting investigated it could go back to the beginnings of Acorn. And you can throw the SEIU labor union as well.Obama, his administration and the democrats are so deeply entrenched with these organisations it'll be interesting to see what if anything happens with these investigations.
In the beginning of 2008, a CIA official said that the elections will be rigged by hard technology. The information was posted in a blog and at that time seemed rather conspiratorial to all people although I had no doubt in my mind. Therefore, if we are to believe this then we cannot prove fraud because there will be no records to substantiate this fraud perpetuated on our country.
What is the correct year? Some articles are reporting February 2008 and others 2009
If it was 2008, this can effect the entire 2008 elections
This is sort of strangely worded…if this is going to go national, or if she continues to tell this story, she needs to clarify this:
She went to work: “Well, I went out and got a lot of people, homeless people, but of course I signed everybody up as a Republican, and I would have put people had they been Democrats.” She was not forcing people to sign up as Republicans: “You could put down anything you wanted.”
The way this is written, if you read only her words and not the story's author's words, it almost sounds like she was the one checking "Republican" on the registrations. And you can easily take the first sentence out of context: "I signed everybody up as a Republican", which the opposition will certainly do.
Excellent story. GJ by the reporter.
Eric Holder is holding a Press Conference in Chicago. He is getting tough and taking on gang violence. He requested 24 million in the budget to combat gangland violence. There you have it, another 24 million into the inner city sewers.
At this rate, Holder will be on the ACORN case in about 2013……….
This country took a bath in a dirty gas station toilet bowl.
sirs:
i am a regular reader of pamela geller at atlasshrugs2000, dropping in 2 or 3 times a day i would suppose.
she has my great respect, for the things she covers and the stories she has developed on her own. she has my great admiration for an incredible work ethic, truly being the chief cook and bottle washer at her blog. and, i am in awe of the courage of her conviction: she writes what she believes, and if she believes in a story or a cause or a person she will write in the support of same without regard to any adverse consequence to her.
(to be continued)
(continued — jjay)
she has been a constant thorn in barack obama's side, exposing his relationship to mr. odinga in kenya, to ayers and assorted radical leftist in the united states, and broke the story on his election campaign community's fund raising fraud. she has been at the absolute forefront of the fight against islamic honor killings in this country, and her coverage of the murders of sara and amina said, and aqsa parvez, and now of the precedent setting conflict of law case in florida and ohio involving rifqa bary.
but, laudable as these things are, that is not the main reason i read her. i will tell you what that reason is.–
pamela never looses sight of the impact that all of the currents of the news and the events of the day has upon individuals. her best stories, the one she digs up by the dint of the sweat of her brow, always cover the human cost and the human impact of things, always with a focus upon the individual.
(to be continued)
(conclusion)
just as the story you have published here.
i regard her as a major spokesman for the conservative movement in america. she is fearless and resolute in her advancement of that cause. and, perhaps most importantly from your standpoint, she writes a moving and compelling story line, doesn't she.
i hope you have her back. i know that she is happy to be here, and respects this journal very much. i think this blog would benefit by a relationship with her.
after all, she got me here, and made me a reader. how good is that?
and, may i add, she attracts a very literate, vocal and may i say, learned, readership where ever she goes. she is that good. simply put.

Thank God for people like Fatiyyah Muhammad, James O'Keefe, Hanna Giles, and countless others who have stepped forward to expose this Corupt organization for what it really is! A Corupt Organization!
I think all States should pass a resolution or bill in their state that if a person has been registered to vote since 1995, they should be required to do their registration over. I would have no problem with doing it!
The article lost all credibility to me, when Fathiyyah Muhammad said she went out and registered Homeless people. Also, what were the reasons she voted for Obama, having only ever voted for Republicans since JFK. This is not a good example of Acorn corruption but really an example of poor judgement for $3 a pop. I am no Acorn supporter, and want to see the organization brought down.

John,
Thank you. I respect what you wrote about Pamela Geller. She would be a welcome asset here. So would you.
Not ACORN related, but I know for a fact that one vote in NC was a fraud. Before the elections, in plenty of time to prevent the fraud, I informed NC by email that a TN resident was planning to vote illegally in NC. The board ignored multiple emails from me. I finally got a wishy-washy non-apology after the election, when it was too late. I'm not so much disappointed in the one fraudulent vote as in the complete lack of action to prevent of voter fraud by the NC elections board.
Talk about courage. Reminds me of the first black secretary of state and all of the incredible praise lavished toward a truly historical moment in America.
"Uncle Tom!" "Traitor!" "Sell out!"
Shame shame shame. Liberal hypocrisy, indifference and ignorance is imploding. Justice?
it was Lucifer who first postulated 'any means to an end'…
Being an equal opportunity landlord, he allows both the good- and the bad. And, with his 'gift' of freewill he has given us the rope in which to hang ourselves by betraying the goodness that lies within all of us in exchange fo earthly pleasures.
Fleeting ones at that.
So, his adherents on Earth (Marxists and other assorted evildoers) are inculcating folk with the 'any means to an end' philosophy accentuated by his house of worship the United Nations. (no joke, they have tributes to Lucifer in their philosophy not to mention the 'Lucis Trust'- formerly LUCIFER Trust publishes all of their publications) And poor dummies like ACORN unwittingly pray to God while serving Luciferian interests.
If this wasn't true it would be absolutely ridiculous…
Thank you for coming forward Fatiyyah Muhammad, honesty is honorable, the good people will stand behind you whether democrat or republican or independent. You believe in the truth and now you are on my heroes list (not that that is a big deal to you) but Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Oh, c'mon. I keed, I keed.
Most black people have a connection to Christianity and are not in favor of discarding unborn children, and the Democrats do. I will be that many would vote for traditional candidates. I think Obama got the black vote this time only because he is half black and touted that during his campaign.
This Acorn criminal enterprise reminds me of the novel, Oliver Twist. Wade Rathke and his brother are present day Fagins, who get the down and outs, the homeless and helpless and send them out to do Fagin's dirty deeds. It's a disgrace. The people arrested and hog-tied should be the Rathke brothers and who knows how many others.
The most virulent racism is aimed at Black Conservatives. Period.
The most virulent racism is aimed at Black Conservatives – by The Left. Period.
We need to change the law so that EVERY voter who shows up at the polls to vote shows birth certificate, naturalization papers or passport along with a picture ID to prove they are qualified. The roles need to be purged of dead people, non-citizens, and non-existing made up names.
Here's hoping that Marco Rubio takes the primary away from Crist. He's ahead in poll after poll among Republicans. He just closed on a million dollars in donations too.
There are Tea Party folks down here in Florida working hard to expose voting records and vett candidates. If you have extra time volunteer and give them a hand. The GOP will be reformed at the grassroots, folks.
Amen, Joan, Amen.

Dang Eric that was fast …. How about investigating ACORN? How about illegals coming in over the border? How about Charlie Rangel tax fraud?
This si what amazes me … what have the majority of blacks received by voting Democrat? What?
Crime, poverty, uneducated. Why can't they see that it's the Democratic party taht keeps them down and segregated?
Very glad this woman came out with her story…Though it was already a known fact that ACORN would never allow a republican voter anywhere near them…
They get subsidized free housing, free medical, free cheese and most imoprtantly of all, they get Al & Jessee.
Thats priceless!
Thanks for the like Dr Cathy. I just signed the petition. Seems like I've been signing a lot of them lately. Let's keep the pressure on!
PLEASE don't even bring up the thoat of this administration lasting past 2012.
Don't forget…they get all that yummy "gub'mint cheese" too.
Thank the Lord there are witnesses may she be protected.
I still recall the 912 marcher, a black lady, with a Tshirt that had MLK on it and said "MLK was a REPUBLICAN".
Heh, how soon we all forget.
As in Iraq the broad spectrum problems in the American black community are ultimately up to the locals to correct. We outsiders may be able to help in some way and defending them from violent attack is foremost especially given the well documented fraud enforced with thuggery by the SEIU, Obama for America, the New Black Panther Party, ACORN and the other numberless tentacles of the Obama leviathan. But for the most part we can only look in from the outside. Folks need to stand up and hollah! See, only black folks can do that, even in print.

Per Congressman Fleming…
Over the past few weeks, members of Congress and the American people have come to know the details of the Administration's proposed health care plan. Call it whatever you like, I believe this proposal is nothing more than government-run health care. As a physician, I am amazed at the number of bureaucrats in this House who are quick to claim a government-run health care plan is the reform this country needs. In response to this, I have offered a resolution that will offer members of Congress an opportunity to put their money where their mouth is, and urge their colleagues who vote for legislation creating a government-run health care plan to lead by example and enroll themselves in the same public plan.
Under the current draft of the Democrat healthcare legislation, members of Congress are curiously exempt from the government-run health care option, keeping their existing health plans and services on Capitol Hill. If Members of Congress believe so strongly that government-run health care is the best solution for hard working American families, I think it only fitting that Americans see them lead the way. Public servants should always be accountable and responsible for what they are advocating.
Together we will work to ensure that any plan that is good enough for American families is good enough for every member of Congress.

Not all northerners, who come down to live in Florida, are damned liberals, you know.
God bless Fathiyyah Muhammad for telling America about her dealings with ACORN. No government funded organization, regardless of what the funds were intended for, should not be permitted to filter out or falsify registrations or coerce those registering into misrepresenting their political point of view.
While party affiliation is not necessarily a concern, the idea that these people thought they were registered and may have been denied the right to vote because their registration was thrown away is very upsetting. This would indeed be a criminal matter if it should be found they denied these people a constitutional right by impeding the registration process. In my mind this goes well beyond something like tampering with U.S. mail which is a felony. Any person caught tampering with the voting and registration process should be punished and any organization that condones of such behavior should be investigated and prosecuted.
I'm hoping this next election cycle we have some brave people do like Jason and Hannah and scour the major cities for groups claiming to be registering voters and expose any impropriety. They cannot be allowed to sway the vote even slightly. Similarly no such groups should be allowed to finance any litigation that could potentially affect the outcome of a race such as in the case of Barney Frank.

Good point. Somehow it only perpetuates our belief that ACORN completely disregards facts/rules. She signed up people as "Republicans" the other workers signed them up as "Democrats." The homeless they were signing up probably didn't care. Funny how only the "republican" ones got thrown out though. I think this is the point.
dumb black whore
The Liberal Fascist Militants on the left now have new jargon. They are revising the old Jim Crow stigma, and referring to people as James Crow Jr Esquire; and Jennfifer Crow M.D. A true sign of the times.
"didn’t pay me anything and I just left, I just figured that this is just another scam"
How right she is! ACORN is one big scam. I told my husband on election night that I did not believe for one minute that Obama won this election fair and square, my words are coming back to haunt me. I just knew something wasn't right.
WOW!! Makes you think
Even though she voted for Obama, I still loves me some Fatiyyah Muhammad! You go, girl!
Pamela did it again .Atlas is "da blog"
Glad to see the story picked up here.
ACORN needs to be exposed for the racket they are and the radical left America haters who are one door away from the center of power in Washington thanks to a media refusing to vet a candidate in 2008.
Of course they throw out the Republican registrations….ACORN is a KNOWN partisan organization. Which is why they shouldnt have been given any tax dollars to begin with. Everybody knows they are left wing.
The last two elections were thrown by Acorn, the rat bastards!
I don't buy it. I know ACORN's scum, but I don't think it's productive or helpful to jump every time someone says they have a story to tell. Conveniently, since she wasn't even paid and all the registrations were thrown out, there's absolutely no proof she ever did a thing for ACORN.
This is exactly the kind of story that'll get everyone all riled up, go nowhere and then make everyone look like they're hysterics waiting for something to become hysterical about.
I don't read Pamela Geller's blog and I won't in the future if this the depth of the 'investigative journalism' she's got going on.
And just to be clear, I am totally anti-ACORN. But it won't be a good thing if conservatives spend all their outrage on unsupportable stories like this one.
It should be quite obvious.
ACORN= Nuts…….they help Democrats, I.E. “nuts” get elected
Who would we complain to? The DOJ run by the shill Eric Holder? Is the Democratically held Congress going to launch one of their famous investigations? I think not. Sorry to sound like an ass, but there is no one left to complain to. They were replaced with Obamas minions.
Love Pam Geller and her thread at Atlas Shrugged. She is always out front, taking the heat. Would love to see more of her here. She is always correct in her assessments.
Fathiyyah Muhammad is a real hero, to stand up and tell the truth. I would love to see a parade of Black Republican Conservatives stand up and tell their stories. I have always believed they were out there. It will only take a few to break the silence. Bertha Lewis is like the little Dutch Boy, plugging the leaky dyke with his finger. She is about to get hit by a Tsunami.
Excellent, Pamela, Breitbart should read your blog!!! You have been on it a long time:)
Why am I not shocked? These people in ACORN et all are the scum of the earth. I would LMAO if the chief community organizer is somehow exposed by the time all this runs it's corse.
"Judge me by the people I associate with." Hey NO-Bama…..WE DO !
Pamela, Thank You for the story. Each piece when placed will eventually complete the puzzle !
The growing exposure is bringing the corruption out of the hidden veins channeling the lawlessness!!!! Where will the upstream travels take the insatiably curious!!!! Honesty is still a virtue in many, Fatiyyah Muhammad is no exception!!!
