The Shameless Attempts Of The Left To Capitalize On The Arizona Tragedy
by Phillip DennisMost Americans learning of Saturday’s tragic events in Arizona were shocked and saddened by the violence and senseless murders. Anyone witnessing the political left’s predictable finger pointing and hypocrisy toward the tea party since then became accustomed to these shameless tactics long ago. Yet liberals, with their accomplices in the mainstream propaganda media, are using the tragedy in Tucson to begin a new national dialogue about the dangers of tea party “heated political rhetoric” in a sad attempt to slow the growth and power of the movement.
This week, tea party leaders across the country are being besieged with requests for media interviews to discuss the political rhetoric of conservatives. Once again, tea party patriots will be forced to defend themselves against false accusations from the left. A national discussion on political rhetoric was not the topic the leftist propaganda machine at first desired. Before the last bullet casing hit the ground in Tucson Saturday, leftists were blaming the shooting on a tea party member and Sarah Palin.
Oh, how the left so wanted the killer in Arizona to be a member of the tea party movement! They would have found the recipe to finally stop the movement that is destroying their big government political agenda. After all, all other liberal attempts to stop the tea party have failed. Calling the early tea party “Astroturf,” or pawns of the Republican party never caught hold. Neither did Janet Napolitano’s warning in April 2009 of the dangerous “right-wing extremists” in the tea party movement. It’s difficult to be frightened by silver-haired grandparents silently cleaning up the grounds after a protest at City Hall.
The left’s lie that tea party leaders were on the payroll of rich Republican billionaires didn’t hold water either. Neither did the left’s tried and true tactic of dropping the race card on the tea party work in halting the movement. Even having black Congressmen lie and shame themselves in front of America by inventing racial incidents failed. So the feigned outrage we see over the shootings in Arizona are merely the latest attempt to silence the tea party. We can only imagine the disappointment that ran through the ranks of the left when they found the killer was one of their ideological brothers.
The mainstream propaganda media now seeking answers on the tea party’s heated rhetoric has hypocritically ignored every instance of over-the-top rhetoric coming from the left. Calls for, and even a movie, for the assassination of President Bush were ignored by the left and their comrades in the media.
Sarah Palin has been a target of every malicious form of vitriol known to man since stepping onto the national political stage. Yet, none of this has warranted a story from the mainstream media. Even a Muslim terrorist that shot and killed 13 Americans at Ft. Hood while screaming Alihu Akhbar commanded more leniencies from liberals than tea party conservatives. After the Ft. Hood massacre, Americans were warned repeatedly by our President and other liberals not to “jump to conclusions” that radical Islam may have had a part in the shootings. What does it say of the left when Muslim terrorists are given the benefit of the doubt while the tea party is falsely accused?
What disgusts me most is the use of the Arizona tragedy for political capital by the left. They show no decency or respect for the victims when real lives in Arizona have been lost or forever altered. Shame on the left! One must only speculate if liberals are capable of feeling shame?

I personally will do my damndest to contribute at least $100 to every single candidate running against all of the profiteering cretins who are attempting to capitalize on the pain, suffering, mental illness and murder of the last week in Tucson. I will support all in the primaries and bump up for the general election to defeat these barbaric PROGRESSIVE SOCIALIST B*A*S*T*A*R*D*S.
Every leftard who tried to pin the tail on Palin should have to write the following a hundred times:
One of Loughner's friends described him as a, "'left-wing pothead."
It's all hypocrisy since Obama has used hate messages that border on violent as much if not more than conservatives. What it really proves is that liberals are indignant in using the Arizona tragedy to capitalize anyway they can.
What disgusts me most is the use of the Arizona tragedy for political capital by the left.
It is disgusting, but not surprising. They follow this pattern every time evil people, driven by madness, covetousness, or aspirations of empire masquerading as a religion, commit mass murder.
But who do they blame? No no. That's the wrong answer. They blame "whats." They blame anything but the captain of the will to pull the trigger, or ignite the explosive. They'll blame rhetoric, or bits of metal and wire, or ideology (but only a very short list of ideologies…if it's not "right-wing" or "fascist" they fall back to the metal and the wires), but never the evil people, themselves.
They ask, "why do they hate us?" Not, "why do they do such evil things?"
Who didnt see this coming?
They are drooling for a crisis/ event/ catastrophe or whatever you want to call it to reign in their radical agenda of speech, weapons and God know what else restrictions. They need their opposition silenced so they can move forward with this sick socialist marxist sociopathic utopian dream with chairman Obama at the helm!
Blue dog(common sensed with a grasp on reality like Giffords) democrats where are you? Hope everyone is taking notes, screen capturing, news, pics downloading videos b/c you are witnessing incredible unprecedented history! History of the radical lefts goal to once and for all destroy America with the hardest core radicals in the shadows calling the shots benefitting from all of this.
Isnt that the real key to look into is WHO benefits from all of this.. who has most to lose with the current conservative opposition that hey have to be removed? They get the fairness doctrine, or gun restrictions through who really wins? Spooky dude and his kind?
This is why folks have to start fighting back and push these animals "red button". Leslie Stahl actually did it with Ed Rendell and he snapped showing his true colors. This must be done to all of them they must be pushed to the breaking point. The sooner they are exposed for the wild self serving animals they are the better. The sooner the sheep see those they follow are wolves the sooner we can stop them. And maybe, just maybe some of them when they snap will incriminate themselves!
We the People are at war with the radicals and special interests whether you want to admit it or not! This war cannot be fought through conventional means the only way in Saving the Republic is through The Art of Political Guerrilla Warfare http://www.savingtherepublic.com
Before they do that, they need to write "I will not cheapen the memory of the fallen just to score political points"
and keep writing it till their fingers bleed.
1- Start by removing those that support Obama's Fundamental Transformation and Takeover of America into full Marxism and Communism!- – The Illegal Aliens and the Islamists! They are being used as Obama's new Army to forcibly DISPLACE AND REPLACE real Americans!
2- Then go on to Investigate, Prosecute and Sentence the Obama Administration for the long list of Illegal Legislation and actions in the last two years, against the SCREAMING PROTESTS of We The People!
3- Clean out the Country and Clean out the White House USING EVERY LAW THAT AMERICA can use! HURRY! – Without his Socialist Democrats, Czars, Islamists and Illegals he cannot take U.S. over!
While not all Anti-Americans are Left-Wing, all Left-Wingers are Anti-Americans.
We have this Blog and America Speaking Out, to make our voices heard directly by our Congress! and Congress can kick Obama's arse. Look at what they've done already in the first few days.
There are hundreds more motions to come! Let's Roll Mr. Boehner! as soon as Obama is finished with his FAKE SPEECH about the Leftist Schizophrenic who went berzerk! Right back to Investigating Obama's Administration. Take them down day by day!
I'm worried about the politicians legal reactions to this matter. Remember, most politicians believe you can legistlate safety and are blind to their unintended (or intended) results. They will target free speech, 2nd amendment, and fcc fairness doctrine, thus becoming real threats to liberty. We mourn first then we protect these rights.
If you said "The gunman must have been a black man" the left would call you a racist and a bigot.
If you said "The gunman must have been a tea-bagger" the left would call you with job offers.
It has been absolutely disgusting watching and listening to and reading the politicians and the pundits floundering around the past few days trying to claim the moral high ground in the wake of the Arizona shooting. Don't they know there is no such thing as high ground in a swamp, especially the putrid one they are all wallowing around in these days?
Amendment 1 – Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression. Ratified 12/15/1791.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
VIVA LA TEA PARTY
"The time is near at hand which must determine whether Americans are to be free men or slaves."
George Washington
A single armed Society is a Communist Society! Never give up your arms!
Judging by the reactions of quite a few people on the left, it is no great leap to assume that their first thought when they heard of the tragedy was: " Why oh why didn´t this happen last October?"
"What does it say of the left when Muslim terrorists are given the benefit of the doubt while the tea party is falsely accused?"
It tells you the regressives and the lap dog media are truly enemies of the state.
Hypocrisy, thy name is Progressivism.
I have liberal political views. I believe we ought to have national health care. I think gays should have the right to marry and women have the right to choose. I agree with the DREAM act and disagree with the Citizen's United decision. I think global climate change could be a natural phenomenon, but it is definitely being exacerbated by human actions.
I'm sure you all disagree with me on every one of those points, but do you honestly think holding those opinions makes me "barbaric" and "sick"? A "radical"? An "animal"? A "bastard"? I mean, seriously, you're "at war" with me? What for? You don't even know me, and you certainly don't know what I think about this tragedy in Arizona.
For the record, I, a leftard liberal, blame the crazy nutjob who did this and nobody else. And I do feel shame. A lot of it. I think it's shameful for anyone to make political hay out of this tragedy, no matter which "side" they're on.
It's also painfully obvious that the left are so wussified that they lack the testicular fortitude to look our country's enemy square in the eyes, and say "Bring it, punks".
What did you expect from Communists?
You are known by the company you keep.
They will be consumed by the backdraft.
I couldn't agree more.
Like his call to Michael Vick, you Just Knew This Was Coming…
Obama called the dishonorable Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik today to thank him.
This was after the sheriff made a fool of himself by blaming Rush Limbaugh,Tea Partiers and conservatives for the acts of a crazy man.
The democrats are America's enemy. 2012 vote the dirty commie RATS out. Including King RAT Himself!
In a normal civil society, your views are totally acceptable, as they are your opinions, beliefs, whatever. They have absolutely no conflict with my views, which may be diametrically different.
Where the problem arises is when people with your beliefs are not content with "keeping your opinions to yourself," so to speak. The problems arise when busy bodies, say, Sonia Sotomayer, Michael Bloomberg, Science in the Public Interest, etc etc etc use the FORCE of government to get their way, impose their views.
I would argue that conservatism is a superior political philosophy because there can be no conflict in a society in which one person or group has dominion over another, indeed, that way the entire raison d' etre of the founding of the United States in the first place. The notion of States' Rights playis into this argument, too, in the sense that if California wants to be a left wing lunatic asylum, they should be allowed to congregate with like-minded people and tax each other into prosperity.
It is liberals who wish to use the courts to impose a one-size-fits-all "solution" through judicial means because they know they cannot win at the ballot box, in a debate of ideas.
Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Back can be the most virulently right wing hate mongers–if you believe such a garbage characterization–in the country, but not a single word they say, not a single policy they support, has any effect upon anyone else (unless one believes that people have a responsibility to look after their fellow man and that it is government's responsibility to do it for them).
Rush believes in tax cuts for everyone on the basis that it is their money. What possible effect does–or could–that opinion have on anyone else??!
The Progressives will stoop to any depths to forward their agenda. Any opportunity to take away our freedoms and gain more control by any means. The Truth will eventually destroy these leaches. My sincere sympathy goes out to the victims and families of this horrific tragedy.
a thoughtful reply from an opposing viewpoint…
And no one thinks you any of those epithets. You may not be 'right' in your opinions, from our experience most liberal views are difficult to defend without using emotional pleas. But that does not make them unimportant, for the dialogue between opposing views SHOULD be the birthplace of not compromise, but truly creative solutions.
Take the DREAM act, If it were as advertised we'd be for it. But it is a trojan horse- not particularly well hidden either- to flood the country with illegals and further the Cloward Piven dream of 'crashing the system'. But a plan to allow the children of undocumented workers to earn citizenship- them ALONE- by either military service or other sacrifice to the country. Not college. That would be acceptable.
National health care can be done throught the free market system. Offer paid scholarships for medical students with six years mandatory service at free clinics sponsored by major hospitals throughout the cities. Problem solved. You see, reasonable people CAN solve issues- IF they are honest about it…
Thanks for your positive feedback. http://rightreactions.blogspot.com/
You guys just don't love big brother enough. It's sad really. Makes me cry. OK, not that much.
hehehehehe, nice try… the old turn the table trick won't work here son….go check your friends first………..
There certainly is quite a bit of Reichstag fire to their pouncing on this, in perfect accordance with their idol, Rahm Emanuel, “never let a good crisis go to waste” dictum. The good news is that our homegrown commie/socialist/nazi/fascists are rank amateurs. That’s no reason for NOT fighting back, however, and I’ll be a monkey’s uncle before I roll over for their transparent bullsh$t.
My quibble with you on this is that the left's solutions to these problems and beliefs pretty much forces everyone else to be that way too. I'd love to let you have government-run health care except that it pretty much forces me to have government healthcare too. I'd love to let gays marry so long as they find an institution of religion to marry them while leaving me to have my own beliefs about marriage, but the left wants the government to define marriage for everyone and thus I am forced. When it comes to women choosing, absolutely they should be able to choose whether or not they have sex in the first place, but once there is another human being involved, a woman's convenience should never be allowed to trump that other human's right to life.
The leftie media slogan "we try harder, to be even further left."
True, dcase, very true. I've been back and forth with a lib friend of mine (yes I actually have one) and after many back-n-forth comments, What got her to shut up and agree was a simple statement:
"While we may hold distinctly opposite views of how we got into this mess, I think we can all agree that "all is not well in the Republic". It will be a hard row to hoe to bring back economic stability to this great nation, but I sincerely believe that we will get through this. We always have. God willing, we always will"
Fight to the death to prevent them from disarming us.
They want to silence us by "regulating" the internet, and render us defenseless by taking away our right to possess fire-arms. All part of noblamas "fundamental transformation of Amerika".
When they come for your guns……………………be VERY afraid.
that is a statement that pretty much sums everything up, doesn't it?…
I'm unclear who exactly made comments that pointed fingers, or blamed this incident on "political rhetoric?"
What happened in Arizona was tragic and using it as a way to get support is many things: wrong, immoral, shameless and unfortunately quite common. This article is using as a way to lash out just as much as the ones it is trying to criticize.
As long as there is senseless bickering between "conservatives" and "liberals" or "republicans" and "democrats" this kind of thing is going to keep happening. (Though I had thought by now, we were past this kind of thing. For a brief moment I thought "We are beyond political assassination, we know better. We're America, we don't do that kind of thing." But I must to be too young or too naive…)
Take a look at the comments and the general language in this article. We can't be fighting and insulting people like this. This tension and anger and hatred — this is what leads people to violence.
People died Saturday. People died.
This is not the time to fight, it's a time to come together.
Totally hear you alienadvocate. The consistent use of "leftards", socialists, etc. on the boards is ignorant. Similarly, while I disagree with a lot of the right wing speech and the view points, I absolutely agree with their right to it.
You must have missed the press conference from Sheriff Dipnuk and any of the broadcasts from ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, and CNN. They all pointed fingers at pretty much any conservatives they could think of.
The left is in 100% self-destruct mode, with only a rare few not falling into the trap. Their actions in the past 3 days have offended the common decency of most Americans. The false call to engage in "non-vitriolic debate" is damage control at it's most cynical. Within a week, they'll be back to their old tricks.
"Where the problem arises is when people with your beliefs are not content with "keeping your opinions to yourself," so to speak. The problems arise when busy bodies, say, Sonia Sotomayer, Michael Bloomberg, Science in the Public Interest, etc etc etc use the FORCE of government to get their way, impose their views."
Would you then agree that gay marriage should be:
1) up to the states (the feds have no place in this)
2) ok…as long as we're dealing with consenting adults…why should the government be imposing their views
"I would argue that conservatism is a superior political philosophy because there can be no conflict in a society in which one person or group has dominion over another, indeed, that way the entire raison d' etre of the founding of the United States in the first place. The notion of States' Rights playis into this argument, too, in the sense that if California wants to be a left wing lunatic asylum, they should be allowed to congregate with like-minded people and tax each other into prosperity. "
I think conservatism and liberalism have their places and they tend to balance one another.
"It is liberals who wish to use the courts to impose a one-size-fits-all "solution" through judicial means because they know they cannot win at the ballot box, in a debate of ideas."
I believe this to be incorrect on a number of levels. Liberals have won at the ballot box…again and again. As to the judicial activism jab, that most definitely goes both ways…look at scalia…a pillar of constructionism, right? Look at his opinion in Blatchford v. Native Village of Noatak for example.
"Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Back can be the most virulently right wing hate mongers–if you believe such a garbage characterization–in the country, but not a single word they say, not a single policy they support, has any effect upon anyone else (unless one believes that people have a responsibility to look after their fellow man and that it is government's responsibility to do it for them). "
I don't know how one can say that. What they say has an effect on the listeners if the listeners allow it to.
"Rush believes in tax cuts for everyone on the basis that it is their money. What possible effect does–or could–that opinion have on anyone else??!"
It has an impact on other's opinions potentially.
Do you tell those on Huff Po or DKos that using the words "Teabagger" or "Teahadists" is ignorant? If not, then you are dancing down a one-way street, oblivious to the apparent hypocrisy. If however, you do point that out, then I applaud your level-headed approach to political discussion.
People did die on Saturday. SATURDAY was the time to come together and mourn. Less than 2 hrs after the shooting, Markos Moulistas, Paul Krugman and dozens of others on the left jumped at the chance to politicize this National Tragedy for some cheap political points. The bodies weren't even identified yet. The body count wasn't even complete. Families hadn't been contacted. The shooter's NAME hadn't even been released. But still they attacked. It was disgusting, immoral, and offended the Decency of ALL Americans who actually have a soul. To come out now and ask for us to come together is disingenuous. WE mourned, while the left attacked. Now we have to sit back and forget the disgusting display of amoral behaviour that is still being paraded around as NEWS? That dog Don't hunt.
I'm with you, Phil. But there is good news. Once again, when confronted with lies, bigotry, and distortions from media, special interests, and government, Tea Partiers stood together.
I just blogged about this today on Hennessy's View: http://hennessysview.com/2011/01/11/got-your-back...
absolutely
Don't really read those sites on any regular basis. If I did, then sure I would.
Stop and use your God given common sense just for a minute: seems to me that the libratard dems and the shame street media are very angry with the blue dog democracts and they want to get them in line RIGHT NOW!
You see blue dogs like this gal could cost the demwits their golden cow by repealing oblabbycare amongst other things. They already hurt the demswits by some moving closer to the center because they needed to be re-elected.
So do you think the dems would go "the chicago way", "the union way", or "the bill ayers way", you know "to bring a gun to a knife fight" so they could hit back at those blue dogs "twice as hard"…to get them in line?
I must have missed those. I'll check them out, thanks.
Hell, even Fox had on an AZ State rep, who, before any real facts came to light, stated that the shooter was an Afghan war vet, and was incited by right-wing rhetoric.
So Palin & co. are feeling unjustly blamed for the actions of an extremist.
Maybe they can ask Muslims for advice on how to deal with that.
Come back when you've actually read the Qu'ran, the Hadith and the Suna. If you don't know 2 of those 3 texts, you are unable to voice an informed opinion of islam. I've read them all, and have lived in the Middle East. Your comment smacks of complete ignorance.
I guess I wasn't clear. What happened with the media and the people who used this incident to attack others was wrong. I said that. But I also said that it happens all the time, and attacking them for doing that isn't right either, because that means you are using the incident just as much as they are. And it's never too late to come together.
Really I just wanted to point out that it's unsettling how heated this is just because of the silly "war" between people with differing political views…
Also, if you want to get into what qualifies as News these days– well, let's not go into that.
Jared Lee Loughner, Ed ASSner, and Jessie Ventura, et al. have one thing in common; They think the US gov't brought down the twin towers, friggin idiots.
"15. Leftists tend to hate anything that has an image of being strong, good and successful. They hate America, they hate Western civilization, they hate white males, they hate rationality. The reasons that leftists give for hating the West, etc. clearly do not correspond with their real motives. They say they hate the West because it is warlike, imperialistic, sexist, ethnocentric and so forth, but where these same faults appear in socialist countries or in primitive cultures, the leftist finds excuses for them, or at best he grudgingly admits that they exist; whereas he enthusiastically points out (and often greatly exaggerates) these faults where they appear in Western civilization. Thus it is clear that these faults are not the leftist's real motive for hating America and the West. He hates America and the West because they are strong and successful."
This is part of a psychoanalysis of the left. It is fascinating and it will shock people to learn who wrote it. Read more at: http://sanfransanity.blogspot.com/
Maybe, but I know Muslims who are not extremist (and who don't believe every word of the Qu'ran). They often feel that they are made to answer for extremists. I don't need to be an Islamic scholar to know that not all Muslims are extremists.
Is that what you're saying? Because it seems like you're implying that all Muslims support extremists.
Well, if you stick around here you'll see us called all that and more by many of the "tolerant" liberals who show up.
Actually this wasn't an extremist. He was a mentally deranged individual. He did have some left wing attributes, but most of his writings were incoherent. There is a big difference between this guy and someone who is a member of an Islamist terrorist organization with well-defined goals and a massive support network of like-minded Muslims. Their views are extreme, but they are rational
Claiming that "it happens all the time" is pure BS. NOBODY has jumped so quickly on a story of National tragedy like what happened on Saturday. Not even on 9/11. When the towers were hit, the entire civilized world mourned for days. To claim otherwise is wishful thinking. 2 hours after the attack, blogs were chock full of baseless accusations, hateful messages, and not a single one offered their condolences before they let their dogs loose. Take your excuses and please leave. Now you sound like you are defending what had happened.
I suppose that is true…there is a distinction to be made there.
The Tea Party are the insiigators of HATE in America. ALL tea parters will go to hell along with muslim terrorists.
This should clear it up for you…..
http://michellemalkin.com/
Most people on this board make a lot of noise but no sense. The shooter in Tucson was deranged but
undoubtedly influenced by the hate speach of right wingers. The trouble with right wingers is that they do not
believe in freedom and justice for all. Just shut up and act like civilized adults. Right wingers believe in HATE and not love.
I would like to come back with something smart or witty, but to be honest I can't. You got me. I'll leave.
But you have to at least agree that violence is not the solution to violence? That maybe the language used to (rightly) criticize "the left" in this article and in the comments is not going to help?
Also, I didn't mean to make excuses for what they're doing, I don't like it either. I'm not defending them, nor do I plan to.
"The shooter in Tucson was deranged but undoubtedly influenced by the hate speach of right wingers."
Evidence, please.
I'll try to be nicey-nice here. National Health Care is unconstitutional. It's not in there. And, it's about so many things other than providing everyone with more accessible affordable HC.
Marriage is for a man & woman to commit their lives to each other AND [this is important here] to make more people together.
Women have a right to choose. They do. They have a right to NOT HAVE SEX until they are ready to have babies.
DREAM Act, I see dcase already got this. Thanks brother d.
"I think global climate change could be a natural phenomenon". You're not sure about this? Do I understand your words correctly? Your not sure about changing climates? And then you follow up with certainty with this "but it is definitely being exacerbated by human actions"? All I can tell you is you need some fresh air, cause you aren't thinking too clearly. This is basic stuff.
Anyways, good luck and God Bless.
Wow, those are harsh.
Thanks for the link.
I should back up a little bit. It wasn't my intention to berate, but to educate. It's just that this whole situation has really hit home. My mother used to live in Tucson, and shopped at that same Safeway where the murders occured. Violence isn't the answer, but those of us on the right already knew that. A simple look into the history of the left's violent actions will show where the true hate comes from. I suggest reading the link below
<a href="http://www.michellemalkin.com” target=”_blank”>www.michellemalkin.com
it is a fact-filled historical walk-thru of all the violence the supposed "peaceful" left has bestowed upon this country. Please read it and I'd truly love to hear your response. You seem to be one of the most level-headed democrats to visit this site.
Also, by pointing out these facts, I am in now way implying that you would condone or participate in acts like those shown in the above link. You, Sir, seem to have a level head, and considering the hatred that the left pours into this site, are a breath of fresh air. I'd really enjoy continuing this discussion.
damn you beat me to it… good job wild bill.
I know muslims who aren't extremists too, considering I lived in Dubai for over a year. Try again. They were REAL muslims, not the ones who escaped the bonds of Sharia Law to enjoy life in Dar al Harb. (do you need to look that up, there Kafir?)
You may not need to be an islamic scholar, but to imply that educating one's self about an ideology is somehow stereotyping an entire religion is ridiculous. Especially when that ideology, when accepted in the literal form, is the polar opposite of what the civilized world stands for is disingenuous, to say the least.
Another nasty progressive troll assigned to come here to annoy? Hope your penny a post is worth it. Of course if it gets you off welfare that is one less leech on society. Two whole posts and already being told your opinions are worthless. Your 1st post was directed to me specifically so might I suggest a dictionary and typing lessons?
Again, I really didn't mean to throw the book at you like I did, but with so many virulent postings from those who disagree (which happen daily, I might add) it's kind of a knee jerk reaction. So I apologize. Feel free to come back, and offer your viewpoint. A level head, even if it offers a different viewpoint, is welcome.
I checked out that link, and I agree (even more so after what I read there) that "the left" can be violent.
You said you would like hearing my response, and that makes me really happy. I wouldn't call myself a democrat though, I'm someone without a party. (But I live in a pretty liberal area, so I may be biased about things?)
The violent behavior listed on that site makes me really disturbed and angry though. For example, I may not have agreed with everything George Bush did during his presidency, but making posters and images of him being shot? That's wrong. He was our president, show some respect.
But on the flip side( and I hope this doesn't bring me under fire) I've also seen images that are violent toward Barrack Obama. Like pictures depicting him as a terrorist.
So, I guess the violence goes both ways? I'm not sure what to think, but being able to discuss it is opening a lot of things up.
Thanks for that site.
What thing have we learned about the Democrats since the tragic shooting rampage in Arizona? Simple, the Democratic Party is filled with Totalitarians who are willing to use this tragedy, this crisis, to gain more control over our lives. Creating bureaucracies that control the populace is an easy way to see one’s Totalitarian impulse.
http://www.bluecollarphilosophy.com/2011/01/democ...
Rhetoric is rhetoric, and the portrayal of Obama as a terrorist is one thing. But did you click on the link of the 2008 RNC debacle in that link? Or the firebombing of Palin's church in Wasilla 8 days after the election in '08? Rhetoric is one thing. Actual acts of violence is something completely different. The old adage of "sticks and stones" comes to light in these troubled times. While some may offer vitriol, it's a far cry from acting upon rage-filled impulses.
BTW, I'd like to add, discussing opposing viewpoints without name calling is somewhat refreshing. Thanks buddy.
It's not time to "turn down the rhetoric," as the MSM so piously lecture us; it's time to crank it UP.
Americans need to be reminded that what our Constitution mandates that we schedule every second November is a REVOLUTION. Where the political destinies in other nations are determined by bloody coups or dynastic struggles, here we do it by marching to the polls, or in my state of Washington, the mailbox.
Peaceful as it is, it is still a titanic struggle that is waged like a war, in deadly earnest. Each side wages a "campaign", builds a "war chest", stockpiles political "arsenal", hires "big guns", and plots strategy in "the war room". BOTH sides set up maps on websites with vulnerable enemy points highlighted with bullseyes or crosshairs.
American campaigns are chock full of violent arguments, mud-slinging ads, skullduggery and occasional brawls. And after the returns come in, everybody goes home, and the transition of power takes place on schedule.
How different from the totalitarian regimes Tom Friedman admires, where the populace dutifully marches to the National Athletic Stadium to spontaneously acclaim the unanimous re-election of the Dear Leader for his twentieth term with an unrehearsed mass demonstration, alternately spelling out on placards randomly selected the Great Party slogan, and displaying a giant image of the Beloved Leader's smiling face.
Time to turn the volume UP.
were you too busy rioting at the 2008 RNC in St Louis, or were you to busy firebombing the local Wasilla church that Palin attends to realize that the only ACTUAL VIOLENCE has been brought by the left?
"undoubtedly influenced by the hate speach of right wingers"
I've seen his YouTube posts, and he's "undoubtedly influenced" by the Moons of Jupiter. Does their constant grinding annoy you TOO? Maybe your tinfoil hat is screwed on just a LITTLE too tight.
I actually live in Minneapolis, so the RNC thing was something I actually know about. The fact is, I know some of the people who were in that mob. And it really disappointed me that they would do something so ignorant.
I really appreciate being able to finally talk to someone with a different view. It's hard to find. So, thank you too.
No Sir, thank you. Your civility should be commended. So many are quick to brand these sites as "Hate Sites", simply because we espouse "right wing values", like smaller gov't, lower taxes, personal accountability and such. One day perusing the trolls that visit here will teach you much about what we have to deal with on a daily basis, just to engage in discourse with like minded individuals.
Coming from me, that's saying something. I generally save my comments for the trolls that pass through here, who do nothing but foment hatred and post ridiculous accusations…(I like smashing trolls. It makes my day) I'll admit, I thought you were just another troll. But I am truly humbled at your willingness to see both sides of the coin. Feel free to come back anytime. You'll get a thumbs-up from me.
Wow, you are way off there new guy.
If you cared to look at the evidence, the man acted alone, was on drugs and was mentally ill from the very beginning. The influence of speech was brought in by the lefty media to just blame the right. There is no evidence of speech from the left or the right that influenced his actions. And if you want to know, there has been far more hate speech on the left lately than the right. On top of that, you have no idea what right wingers belive in, as you are just going on off of what the left of the media has told you.
Now if you were informed and could spell (its spelled speech, not speach), then your statement wouldnt be such hate filled nonsense. Besides, if you payed attention, the right is for freedom and justice for all, it is the left that wants to restrict everything for all, why else are politicians on the left bringing back the Fairness Doctrine again.
I haven't heard anything about the shooter's influences yet, but if you have could you tell me where you read it?
I heard on the radio this morning about him possibly having a mental illness, but not much more.
I don't think anyone believes in hate, man. Try to be civil too, ok?
Are you this much of a jerk in real life or just on the internet? It would be nice when you throw out a statement like you just did to back it up with at least a tiny shred of evidence. Based on when you posted this comment, you should be aware of the information that has come out regarding Loughner. None of it would point to him being a right-winger. Nearly all of it points to him being unstable. But if one must pigeon-hole this guy, I'd say it points more left than right. Druggie, reads 'The Communist Manifesto', mindless blather when he talks, fascination with flag burning. Yep, sure sounds like a card carrying conservative, NRA member, Palin supporter, small government advocate, and individual freedoms believer. Next time, please bring something useful to the discussion or stay over at the Daily Kos where they don't mind throwing out baseless accusation.
I think you and I should be free to seek healthcare any way we choose, and help other people any way we choose – or not. I'm willing to let you and the millions of people who think like you have the freedom to form any type of healthcare collective you like, as big and centralized and regulated as you want it, without regard for what I might think is a better way, as long as you leave me alone. But you want to take away my freedom and force me to get healthcare the way you like it. …(continues…)
I don't believe global warming is significant, and I'm not convinced it would be a bad thing if it was. But you want the government to impose by force conditions that will enable a group of people to become bloody damned rich at the expense of another group of people that I'm in, severely restrict my freedom, cause my cost of living to soar and possibly lower my already below average standard of living to poverty.
I don't care how many Mexicans come to the U.S. – I like Mexicans; I'm related to a whole bunch of them. If they're in need of food, shelter, clothing, healthcare or education, I think you and I should be able to help them to our hearts content – or not. But you want the government to take by threat or force what I've earned to provide them with those things.
I couldn't care less what gay people do, as long as they're not in my face with it or seeking to impose their lifestyle and values on my children, grandchildren or me (for the life of me, I can't understand why anyone thinks it's a good idea to have the government license their relationships).
Hey, Jgar, here's a link that might bring some light to the subject. The fact that so many articles have been written in such a short amount of time pushes those you need to see into the archives. I'll try to find others.

The difference between you and me is that I want to be free to own my own life and pursue my own happiness in my own way, with the least possible involvement of the government; and I'm willing to leave you alone to do the same. But you are not content to leave me alone. For some reason your pursuit of happiness requires subjugating me. You want to enable the government to use its police and guns and courts and jails to take what I've earned and force me to do things your way – or impoverish, imprison or kill me if I don't. It's people like you who make war against people like me. You have me on the defensive. As much as I may like you personally, you are my enemy. Either I fight back, or I lose my freedom.
Here's the original link to the article I followed right after the shooting happened. There are numerous updates. Feel free to peruse the 3000 comments. I'd like to point out that Hotair is a 'closed registration' site, so any behavior that is considered hateful or disgusting could get a person banned. The "Banhammer" was out in full force that day, and for the most part, everyone was polite, and thoughtful.

This was an article that was updated for almost 24 hrs… so you'll get a good indication of the events as they unfolded.

Thanks. That gave me a better view of who this guy is.
I'd like to add one thing about The ObamaCare Fiasco. I am disabled. I am awaiting approval for my Medicaid benefits. Benefits that will be cut severely because healthy, capable people are so F-ing greedy that they would see benefits to people like myself get cut for their own benefit. ObamaCare will be paid, in part, by a HUGE cut in Medicare/medicaid funding. If I could go out and get a job, and recieve benefits, such as health care, I would do it in a heartbeat. Since I cannot, I am appauled at the lazy shiftless bags of vomit that scream for "free healthcare" that they could easily get by gainful employ.
I gotta say, I think you have broken a record in "improved standings" on this site. You were -47pts an hour ago, and now you're in the positive. I'm impressed, but not surprised.
There's some hope for you yet, young Skywalker….LOL
Oh, and BTW, it's considered "good form" on this site to "thumbs-up" posts that you agree with. Not really a pissing-match, but just a rule of thumb to know who we are dealing with. Since our last encounter, I've made a point to give you props.
P.S.- I told you that there are trolls who do nothing but spout hateful nonsense. This is a daily, if not hourly, occurence.
It seems to me that the Sheriff of Pima County AZ is purposely trying to distract Americans from his failure to protect members of his community and a sitting Congresswoman from danger wrought by this mentally disturbed young man. As the chief local law enforcement official, it was his responsibility to protect the citizens. HE FAILED! It is time for him to own up to his mistakes and stop trying to blame others.
I did come here to learn.
I'll remember to "thumbs-up" next time!
NP. Glad to have you on board. Hope to have "spirited political debate" with you in the future.
This event was truly a tragedy but why does the media say nothing when many more people die every year in Obama's home town Chicago. We hear little about the thousands dying just over the border or the hundreds who die in violent gang clashes through-out the crime ridden streets of Detroit, Los Angeles, New York, Cincinnati, Philadelphia, etc. All of these places filled with violent Obama supporting Democrats or illegal aliens. We hear nothing about the hate speech and actions of Obama associates like Rev Wright or Bill Ayers. The left manufactures hate from the right but never discusses the daily examples of hate on the left and those who support them.
No I think you are someone who uses force to accomplish your goal. A statist. I don't care what you believe, that is irrelevant. What I care about is when you aggress against me to impose what you believe.
Take everything you stand for. Why is everything you advocate always the use of force against others? Health care for example. Why is my forced capitulation and forced participation required? Why can't you do things through voluntary, non-aggressive means.
Same with global warming. Why do you turn everything into a crisis to use as an excuse to use force upon me and others.
So its not what you believe that I care about. Its when you impose that belief upon me through force using government as your bully to accomplish your goals. THAT is what makes you the bad guy.
Also I would seriously question if you ARE a liberal at all. More than likely you're a progressive. I am a classic liberal. Liberalism at its core is the expansion of liberty through non-aggressive means. What today's left is is hardly liberal.
Says the one who tries to smear people who disagree with it… and who shamelessly exploits the deaths of innocents to aid in the smear.
You are the one full of hatred.
Oh come on, NOT everything is gay marriage. You know perfectly well the left is using force when it comes to imposing its health care plans or global warming agendas.
Government should not be in the marriage business, period. That's where gays got into the mess to begin with. A special interest used gov to force all of us to go along with their idea of what marriage should be so your solution is to use government to force all of us to go along with YOUR idea of what marriage should be.
If government was not in the marriage business you can marry your left hand for all I care.
So when Bill Maher says he's afraid of Muslims he's also being ignorant?
