Mandated Health Insurance – Candidate Obama Attacks President Obama?
by Patrick CourrielcheOver the years I’ve come to think of organizations as living beings – with an amorphous body, ideas as its defense mechanism, and an insatiable appetite for growth. A virtual organism if you will. And as we know with any organism, when cornered it will do (or say) just about anything to survive.

In its quest to pass health care reform, being cornered is the plight of the virtual organism we call The Administration.
We don’t know the intricacies of the current Senate bill being drafted behind closed doors. But what we do know is that one of its cornerstones is government imposed, individual mandates for health insurance. If this element is left in the bill, our government will be given the power to force individuals into purchasing health insurance, or else be fined – giving new meaning to the term cost of living.
You may recall, however, the head of this Administration pointedly attacking his opponent’s position on health insurance mandates during the primary campaign. In an effort to differentiate himself, candidate Obama attacked the Clinton plan of requiring citizens to purchase health insurance stating that people do not have health insurance not because they don’t want it, but because they can’t afford it. Mandating health insurance, in his view, would further burden the individual with fines and in the end the person would still not have health insurance. He called it a “substantive difference” with Clinton on the issue and made that point very clear here:
Now if that were the only time his opposition to mandates was mentioned, we could chalk it up to standard campaign rhetoric. But it wasn’t. He also stated it here – and then again here.
But he didn’t stop there. His campaign went as far as sending out mailers to potential primary voters highlighting Senator Clinton’s position – claiming that under her plan citizens would be “forced” to purchase insurance. Candidate Obama explains the rationale behind the mailer here:

Now I’m not a constitutional lawyer, nor an economist, so speaking on the validity of such a mandate in the realms of those disciplines will not come from me at this point. But what I can speak to are ideas and the survival mechanism of the virtual organism. If the Obama Administration backs this provision it would be a drastic change from the position of the Obama Campaign and would point to one of two things – either the Obama Campaign was wrong or the Obama Administration is cornered and will do what it takes to survive.
The question for us will be which virtual organism are we to believe?

When one has no moral base, what they say one day is not what they will say another.
You do not need a good memory to tell the truth. You do when you are a pathological lair!
do you think insurance companies want to force you to buy their product? you betcha, insurance is govt.
Obama arguing for and against an issue, saying one thing then doing another?
Par for course.
He wants to reduce the deficit by increasing it
He wants to punish the healt care free loaders by taxing people that pay, to pay for people that ride free
He wants to make our country safer by selling military tech to china
He wants to make our schools safer by putting a child molestor in charge
It's just a form of madness known as "Progressive Thought"
Welcome to the show. We have been say that for the last several months & some of us that had to live through his very quick rise in Chicago have been warning of this for a couple of years.
I cannot think of a better example in the U.S. It is ridicules.
so the insurance companies must love this legislation, they get more revenue cause people are forced to buy their products and they dont have to increase their quality, they can probably offer less quality so they will keep more money, so its double good for them. we all know the saying.."good enough for govt. work"
The key was in the conclusion, but I don't feel the conclusion was quite right. The conclusion I come up with is the the campaign lied and so is the administration.
Thinking Man, you are so right…I watched the John Stossel show last nite and like he points out the Free Market System works and we definitely don't want Govt Run Health Care!! Details on how to get gasoline for half price…
The Conservative Edge
Forgive my repetition, but:
We need to understand that this health care "reform" is the first step towards Obama's New Fascism. There is a very clever double ruse happening with this administration's efforts. First he campaigned as a moderate. That was the first ruse. Next he offers the APPEARANCE of governing from the far left. This is the SECOND ruse. By doing this he's set up the classic battle between conservatives and liberals. With this he's set up a smoke screen for himself, because while we are busy fighting amongst ourselves, his real, substantive actions, behind closed doors, have only served to build up international banking interests, global corporatism, and world governmental authority. His actions are not classically liberal, and they're certainly not conservative. They ARE Obama's own Third Way. His goal is to establish a Global Fascist State. Think deeply about this and you'll see that I'm right.
If you don't quite see how "health care" fits this picture, just consider the latest Senate "compromise" bill. It is no compromise at all, it IS and has always been the original goal. First you have a massive expansion of governmental control over the health care industry. Second is the introduction of the totalitarian "insurance mandate." Third is the elimination of any form of a "public option" or "single payer." With this trifecta you have established dictatorial power for the central government, unrestricted market access for the private insurance industry, and a permanent marriage of government and corporate interests over every single citizen. This my friends is fascism. This is the president's double ruse. And if he can get this one thing passed, the next big move will be the global climate treaty. I'll let you chew on just where that will lead.
I think our rallying cry may just become, "Left and Right Unite" to beat back the fascist takeover currently underway.
2010 really asigns true value and meaning to "yes we can" and "hope and change"!! Gonna be some hungry politicians hanging around. Well thaat or they will be forced to live off the money they have stolen from us over the years.
I am not sure I would call it Obama new fascism, it is just plain old fascism. Obie is not that smart to come up with a new one on his own. He is using all the true and tried methods of fascist communists of the past.

Further proof that Fascism was always a far left wing enterprise. Nazis were German fascists.
OBAMA IS TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE WHAT A USED TAMPON IS TO A WOMAN!
-USELESS AND ABLE TO CAUSE TOXIC SHOCK IF USED!!!!
What did Bill Clinton call his campaign? A fairy tale? Doesn't seem so far-fetched or racist now, does it? But Odumbos aiders and abettors in the main stream media chose not to investigate Clinton's claims, but rather focus on if what was said was racist. The "hollow man" was allowed to run exactly the type of campaign he wanted, or as Anita Dunne stated "control the message". Not once were his feet held to the fire on any of his principles, or background, or vision. He didn't need clearly defined policy positions. He skated, while the MSM shirked their responsibilities, and got all "tingly-legged" over this "historic" and "transformational" figure.
President Teleprompter also did this in reimportation of prescription drugs. Oh, and believe me, his base has not forgotten his stance on mandates, and in reimportation. Just read any lefty blog, their blood is boiling.

The Senate will conduct the most important vote of the health care debate on Monday at 1AM. (1 AM is not a typo) The vote requires 60 votes to approve. While on the phone and fax lines at the Senate are jammed, http://www.GradeGov.com gets thru via inside email addresses. So…Send the Senate a Christmas gift from you and let your voice be heard. Tell you friends and family before the 1AM Monday vote to go to http://www.GradeGov and tell the Senate how you feel about the Health Care reform bill. This could be a very important weekend for the future of your health care coverage.

I'm sort of upset that Obama the Candidate was talking bad about mandates.
Of the last 10 dates Bawney Fwank had, 10 of 'em were mandates.
Not on my watch can we allow this administration to continue dragging us down a path "we the people" do not want to go. My heart brakes for my beloved country these days. It is so nice to know we are not alone. If you have not checked out oathkeepers.com please do. I found a great deal of comfort in their website. All of us should be heard loud and clear as the shout goes out across our great land, NOT ON OUR WATCH.
I agree. It is just plain old fascism. The Obama twist is couching the move with the appearance of ultra-liberalism. Notice how even the classic liberals are starting to feel cheated?
Obama's teleprompter had a different opinion at the time.
Mandate? Hmmm.
I wonder what plans Andy Stern cooked up to reverse merge a slew of Americans into unions by way of this so called mandate. Maybe enforcement of this mandate will be given to – ta da – unions.
Who and how is enforcement going to look and feel? Are we all Gladney's waiting to be an overnight imposed infraction? I hope someone at BG is on it.
666 ever been in a va hospital? now that govt. ins. for ya…….
HAHA…..give this man a hand!….

LOL – thanks. Or did you mean give Bawney a hand? Just kidding!
I appreciate the reply.

I am terrified that there are people out there who really don't understand what this plan entails. Everyone should become more educated with health care insurance. There is a great book that I just finished reading titled, "Bend the Health Care Trend" by Mark S. Gaunya and Jennifer A. Borislow. It is a book that is simple and easy to understand.
