Reason.tv’s Nanny of the Month for Jan. 2010 (Are you outraged Snoop Dogg?)
by Nick Gillespie
Past Reason.tv Nannies of The Month have included New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg (anti-salt, smoking, trans fat, you name it), a New York state senator who wanted to ban fish pedicures, and a Phoenix pol who banned churches from feeding the hungry on their own property.
So who is the first Nanny of The Month of this brand-new, sparking decade? Well, it’s NOT Brownsville, Texas, for banning plastic shopping bags. And it’s NOT Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R-Calif.) for terminating trans fat in the Golden State.
But it IS a town council somewhere in California that banned something natural and pure. And it does involved the great rapper Snoop Dogg (though not in the way you might think).
Click through to find out. Approximately one minute.
Written and produced by Ted Balaker. Associate producers were Paul Detrick and Alex Manning and the animation is by Meredith Bragg.

Wow! These neo-regressives would make Che proud.
Che's probably getting embarrassed by now. As screwed up and evil as he was, sometimes you gotta have at least one toe on the ground. I seem to remember he was supposedly and M.D. Just goes to show, even a Hippocrat can be a hypocrite.
Can you still sing in the shower? Oh wait. It's California. Never mind.
I guess only righties watch this stuff. I've never seen any of it and none of these comments make any sense. One guy can't sing in the shower, something about Kevin Bacon and two comments about Che… am I missing out on something good here or are these guys just venting?
I think it's time to re-write the national anthem.
o'er the land of the free. wait scratch that.
o'er the land of the semi-free. No.
o'er the land of the mostly-free. Not quite right.
o'er the land of the once free, but not even as free as canada anymore and the home of the brave.
That sounds pretty good.
I don't get it, there's a disconnect to senses.
Who elects these libots? What the hell are they thinking ? — "Please control us more, we are like children, tell us what we should do, make us safe . . . please!"
What is next, using one piece of toilet paper….. Oh wait, Thats already been suggested. Pretty soon they will be telling us what to eat and not…… Wait thats being done already also. Hmmmmm Over the last 100 years under the Progressive/Socialists guidance we have lost the right to free speech, free association (yes that is what all the forced government integration really is), rights to property, rights to keep what we earn, religious freedoms (unless your an Athiest, Wiccan, or Islamist), and a right to life (abortion for Mikatollah). It is time we take back our rights or we will lose them permanently. That tree of liberty needs some refreshing.
I wonder how long it will take the town council to start singing "Drop It Like It's Hot"
It's almost here! Obama was so pissed off at just about everybody as he chewed 'em out in his SOTU speech!
Remember when BO was running his mouth about taxing fat people (sugar products) because they run up healthcare? Then all the sudden he shut up on that idea….. thats because somebody told him how much senior care would cost for every year a healthy person adds to their life expectancy. They will offer tax cuts to all base-jumpers under 40 yrs old next time Pelosi stimulates with the demolibs.
I've never seen any of it and none of these comments make any sense.
umm…yeah.
It is for your own good you know… probably a safety concern.
Are you really that blind or do you have your ears and eyes closed so tight that you really don't get it?
And this response make even less sense that the original post. Use your words.
These people likely are of the same mind as hopey and plugs. They believe that the only reason the general populace is against their ideas and programs is because we are too dense to grasp the real value. Unfortunately their plan consists of more speeches and explanations until we get it. /sarc.
Don't get what?
I believe they do that in Iran, Or was it England!! More freedom lost!!
Use your brain. You said you'd never seen it, and none of it made sense. While correlation doesn't necessarily imply causation, in this case I think it's a safe bet to assume this: For comments on a subject to make sense, one must have a familiarity with the subject.
If that's too high over your head, here's another way of saying it: Watch the video before you comment. Things make more sense that way.
Wow, where's Kevin Bacon, better start on Footloose 2.
You miss everything Mick why break a trend?
Why you can't find a bigger cardboard box
Can't he use yours?
I mean apparently you have little use for or understanding of them, seems like they are just going to waste anyway.

I was in Diamond Bar once, it was closed.
Everyone should have seen this coming. When they started to ban smoking in public places, the ball started rolling. I've heard some pretty bad karaoke in my time but none that was harmful to my health. What's next? No chewing gum in public? No bad mouthing Congress in public?
Who are these people to dictate to us? What gives them the right to tell us how to live? Who made them the BOSS? Has political correctness and good intentions totally wiped out common sense and practicality? At the rate we are going, pouring salt on Chicago will be considered a terror attack.
Even if bad karaoke was harmful to your health it should still be your decision whether to subject yourself to it. Up next, no bad mouthing bad karaoke in public or private…..
One small detail in the video is incorrect. Snoop Dogg isn't from D-Bar. He's originally from Long Beach.
