Three Reasons Why Obama and The Dems Are in Big, Big Trouble.
by Nick GillespieOver at Reason.com, my colleague Matt Welch and I list three basic reasons why the Dems are in big, big trouble. And one reason why they’re not:
Martha Coakley’s resounding defeat in the Massachusetts Senate race is hardly the sort of anniversary gift President Barack Obama could have predicted. Yet there it was, wrapped in a bow and plopped on his doorstep like a flaming bag of dog poo to mark the end of his first year in office.

Among other things, Scott Brown’s upset victory means that Obama, who flew up to the Bay State to campaign for the deservedly doomed Coakley in the race’s twilight, is zero for three when it comes to high-profile two-minute drills for beloved causes (remember getting Chicago the Olympics and putting together a global carbon deal at the U.N climate conference in Copenhagen?).
There are at least three basic reasons, plain as the nose on your face, that the Democrats and Obama are in trouble for the near future:
1. Health care reform is not popular. An ABC News/Washington Post poll published on January 19 has 51 percent against current congressional plans and just 44 percent in favor, numbers that haven’t moved in a month. Other polls show even greater percentages oppose the plan, with all the trend lines over the past year working heavily against the Democrats.
People fear the obvious: “Reform” that increases the government’s role in anything virtually guarantees steadily increasing costs, lower levels of services, and ballooning federal deficits. All the special-interest carve-outs to buy votes from wavering senators and pay down objections from Big Labor didn’t help either, especially on an issue that was not boiling over on the front-burner of voter concerns at a time of prolonged economic crisis.
2. The stimulus and TARP bailouts are not popular. They never were, even back when Republicans were pushing them, and are getting less and less so as it becomes clear that such policies are at best ineffective and at worst horribly counterproductive. During his first year in office, reports Congressional Quarterly, Obama got what he wanted from Congress a record-setting 97 percent of time, so it’s not like he’s simply muddling through with a bad hand. Yet the president (and by extension, the Dems) are tanking when it comes to handling the economy, both in terms of results and job approval. An NBC/Wall Street Journal poll from January 10 shows just 43 percent approving of Obama’s economic policies, down from 56 percent a year ago.
Simply put, nobody believes that weatherizing vacant homes in Detroit or keeping an already bloated public sector on permanent life support is going to restart the economy.
3. The wars in Afghanistan and Iraq are not popular. Neither is Obama’s foreign policy more generally. According to Gallup, Obama’s reaction (or non-reaction) to the Christmas Day bomber had a marginally positive effect on the president’s marks for handling terrorism, but it remains a fact that his positions on Iraq and especially Afghanistan are at odds with most Americans. Whatever latent peacenik tendencies his supporters and detractors assumed he harbored, Obama has doubled, or even tripled, down in Afghanistan while following the Bush-Petraeus withdrawal plan in Iraq. This may qualify as hope, but it doesn’t count much as change. Especially since we’ve still got no real clear mission in Afghanistan, despite having been there for so long.
Obama’s failure to define a coherent foreign policy is not his alone. At the end of the Cold War, the political class shrugged and almost immediately began to spend “the peace dividend” that came with a winding down of military spending as a percentage of GDP and the federal budget. Both George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton cut relative military spending, as they should have. Where they, and Bush II and Obama so far, manifestly failed was in working to build a consensus of what U.S. foreign policy should be. We continue to pay for that failure in wasted dollars and, more damningly, wasted lives.
All is not ashes for Obama and the Democrats, of course. After all, a new AP-GfK poll finds that 49 percent of Americans want the Democrats to maintain control of Congress (just 37 percent are pulling for the Republicans to take charge). The GOP had its run at the top and the results were nothing less than a disaster on just about every front.
For those of us who don’t paint our faces for either the red or blue teams, the tragicomedy of American politics is that each party looks pretty freaking awesome when compared to its counterpart. As bad as Bush was, Obama may well be worse. As rotten as Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi are, just remember Trent Lott and Dennis Hastert. Now reverse the party affiliations and repeat. In their hour of darkness, all the Dems need to recall is that they are running against Republicans. And vice versa. Independents–the only reliably growing voting bloc in an electorate long since fatigued by two-party politics–are swinging violently against Democrats after throwing the Republican bums out in 2008 and 2006.
The hangover from the first year of Obama and the afterglow of Scott Brown’s stunning senatorial upset can teach the major parties some real lessons: First and foremost, listen to the voters, especially voters who are calling for smaller government despite very tough times. In a recent ABC News/Washington Post survey, 58 percent say they favor smaller government that provides fewer services rather than bigger government and more services (38 percent want that). Moving in that direction would indeed constitute change. For a change.
The way back to voters’ hearts is not through boosting the size and scope of government (something else that Obama and the Dems simply filched from the Bush-era GOP) but by unmistakably trimming some sails. Health care reform, such as it is, should consist of giving individuals more options via a deregulated, non-job-based marketplace where costs are made more transparent rather than less so. It works everywhere else in the economy and will work in health care. Regarding government spending, it means freezes all around and reductions in staff sizes at all levels of government. It means starting (and winning) a debate over ridiculous public-sector retirement packages that bankrupt whole polities for the benefit of a privileged few. With foreign policy, it means thinking through a coherent set of principles that will guide our interactions, and not just our reactions, in the world, focusing on trade rather than aid and warfare. It means fighting terrorism with amply-funded intelligence services rather than the misbegotten occupation of whole troubled regions.
The 21st century has so far been a tremendous disappointment to those of us who remember the end of the 20th. We know that today’s leaders are dogs, but here’s hoping they are not so old that they can’t learn a few new tricks. Especially since we are the ones that will continue paying for their mistakes.

Three reasons?
Barrack
Hussein
Obama………….
Happy anniversary Barry. I like youbut your accomplisments stink in too many ways for me to print.
You have it exactly right Logic. Score- Obama- 0 American people- 100. God Bless America
Obama just simply doesn't know what he is doing. He either dithers or blunders. The leftists in Congress follow him, dithering and blundering. No matter what side you're on there's not much to like. We're afraid he will do what he wants to and the other side is afraid he won't.
How about…
1 – Because the continue to flog Blame America First
2 – Because they are typical elitist do nothing hypocrites, and
3 – All thier policy ideas are lame assed Euro/Socialist/Communist crap that ha failed REPEATEDLY all around the world?
They are empty suits, full of hot air promises and corruption, with minimal brain cells and NO FRICKIN Common Sense!
GO TEA PARTY!
This country need a bunch of regular Joes and Janes to go into political SERVICE fora part of their career, clean the place up, and then go back to their lives.
Mr. or Mrs. Smith goes to Washington style.
GO TEA PARTY!
While the three reasons listed in the article are:
1. Healthcare
2. TARP and the Bailouts
3. The wars in Afghanistan and Iraq
There are several other new reasons.
1. Haiti. We don't need another multibillion boondoggle on someone elses shores.
2. Homeland security is a farce
3. American prestige is at low tide
Congressman Joe Wilson rang the bell, and woke US up.
Barry, YOU LIE!
How about this reason?
They are a bunch of SOCIALIST A HOLES.
I cannot mention my favorite writer because my posts get banned but this is the opinion:
" Mark the words, this is the same George Mitchell mob who suckered Bush 41 into breaking his "read my lips" promise into raising taxes "for the good of America" and then they beat him to death with it. They will seek now to offer some power to the GOP to get them to sign onto some scat "fixing things" while implementing rationed death
Asking the GOP to get involved is going to be the sign that the GOP will be destroyed.
I warn again Scott Brown and the GOP, to not get involved in this. Mr. Brown, keep your promise in stopping Obamacare, AND DO ONLY THAT. Wait for the fall elections for the GOP to get into power if God wills, and then take a 5 step program to fix health care, but stick Conservative things into it which Obama will veto, as in undoing all his crazy mandates."
Thank you l* a* m* e* cherry for your thoughts as I pass them along.
You sold me.
I like the short, abbreviated version.
He wonders why the people who elected him to serve or unhappy. He seems to come across arrogant and smug.

Heh, I like it short and simple….at my age the simpler the better….LOL
Bill
Of
Rights
I'll take it a step further and say that the three things listed in the article ARE NOT WORKING….
Why do your posts get banned for mentioning someone? Who?
Did you hear Bwarney's radio interview the other day? I cant stand to hear him speak any more…he sounds like such a QUEEEEAR.
Obama knows what he is doing. Trying to change the country. Just like John R. says,we have a bunch of cry baby hippies in the White house and Goverment. They have an agenda and it isn't pretty. They don't care about the Consitution or the Bill of Rights, The founding Fathers were a bunch of evil men, slave owners.. blah blah blah…
I am hoping that with the election of Brown America is waking up and there is true hope and change for the rest of us in deep blue states. The non communist Democrats and Republicans should listen to the people.
Sounds like………..?
I wish he would have that mole removed….lol
Well, we know he is but my gosh his voice and that lissssisssissssp.
Last line spells the name and I don't know why they get banned. It's a mystery to me.

David Montgomery above is correct; I've made the same point a few times myself. Obama & Co. are totally head over heels enamoured with Euro-style socialism.
It makes "a thrill go up Obama's leg" and up the legs of the rest of the neo-socialist bourgeoisie.
Limos and $500 dinners for the Manhattan elite (Olbermann etc.), and state controlled poverty, subsistance and rationed healthcare for all the "red necks in flyover counrty."
Again, the idea of "healthcare reform" has little to do with actual reform, or even healthcare (the taxes would begin almost immediately, the "care part" in three or four years!) it is about creating growing the bureacracies that will be involved, hiring new union-robot Democrat voters and fundementally shifting the political paradigm to the LEFT.
Hey Barry, Harry, and Nannie,__In case you haven't noticed, the American people have minds, we think, we remember, we keep score! We're not the stupid hicks that you think we are. We have voices, we have opinions, and we have votes. Have you noticed the people marching in Washington DC saying "Enough is enough". Evidently not! Did you listen to the local elections in November? Evidently not! Did you listen yesterday when a REPUBLICAN won the senate seat from Mass? Hopefully so, but I have my doubts. The "Change" you promised is coming, only not the one you wanted. Do not understimate us or try to trivialize us. You will be sorely disappointed!
Four more reasons that the Dims are in trouble: Freddie, Fannie, Frank, and Franklin.
I'd like to swap him so hward it'd knock the wissssp wight out of him………..
I give up.
I was never good with word puzzles.
What the hell is a lame cherry?
It will be curious to see what they will do now. We have seen this movie before, well if your a Star Wars fan you have. Brown won, but dems still have majority votes. They only need 51 and they now after yesterday have 57. Question is will they back off or continue on course. Back to the mentioned movie connection. If your a Star Wars fan youve seen this in Ep3. The "separtists" have been beaten the power should go back to the Republic, now either the 3 stooges(Pelosi,Reid,Obama) will back off or they'll pull a "Palpatine" show their true "Sith Lord" colors ie Progressives and ram as many bills through as possible between now and Nov with their "no repeal clause" built in like they have in the HC bill, or has that been stopped??! I dunno so much going on behind closed door anymore its best to expect the worst out of these people.
I agree. Bush 41 got used, and he fell for it. That idiot "luxury tax" was a stupid idea designed primarily to make a liar out of G.H.W. Bush – and it worked.
The mass population wasn't taxed and it didn't matter – yacht buyer just moved their purchases to Barbados.
Never – ever – ever – trust a Democrat that just wants to "help". Scott Brown – listen politely – then walk away.
George Washington, our nation's first president and leader of the American Revolution! His picture goes on the $1.00 Bill.
Abe Lincoln, honorable leader pulled our nation through its darkest time! His Picture is on the $5.00 Bill.
Ben Franklin, Genius inventor, political theorist and leading author of the constitution. We put his Picture on the $100.00 Bill.
I would like to Nominate Obamas Picture to be the first President on our Food Stamp!
The real reason Mr. Brown won is that people have no other choice. The R's and D's have rigged the party organization laws, the ballot access laws, the campaign finance laws, the coverage and debates so as to essentially outlaw other political parties. They are now just two wings of the same corrupt gang of crooks and we ping-pong back and forth between them, using the only option we have, which is to throw out whichever of the two gangs has screwed up last. All this analysis is just part of the Kabuki dance front end, to convince us that it makes a difference who wins. It doesn't. Both of these parties are stuffed to overflowing with statist hacks who will tax, borrow and print us into ruin while tapping our phones, stealing our homes and blundering us into endless wars for their own power and privilege. The only thing that changes is which gang's supporters get the loot. Brown is just the latest fraud served up by the system. An empty victory that will have no significant except to the partisans on each side.
Only solution long term is to have a party "Elder" standing off to the side reminding the Republicans that they must follow Conservative principles all the way; no more Compassionate baloney, straight Constitutionalism have to be adhered to always.
That "Elder" could be the young Sarah Palin or the young Scott Brown or another conservative who can hold the attention of the politicians because Potomac Fever is virulent down there in DC; cf. Lott, Delay, and others.
Three reasons why Obama and the Dems are in big, big trouble.
(1) bibles
(2) guns
(3) pickup trucks
You left off my favorites. Dickless Durbin and his marionette that is occupying the corruptocrat in chiefs old senate seat.
Actually 4 and it's name is MSNBC !!!!! I just don't get it – i really don't …. This man is full of hate and anger that I can't stand to watch him… I mean I truly do not let my kids watch him becuse he preaches hate !!!!! Why does MSNBC allow this ?

http://lamecherry.blogspot.com/
I think you just won the prize for best post tonight!
With those three, we don't need much else.
My 3:
1. Corruption
2. Democrats
3. Republicans
LOLOLOL..Thank you for that.
That, or maybe more fittingly, on a $1,000,000,000 bill.
Little Dick Durbin……why he just another corrupt Lib that will be replaced soon.
You're pretty good with a lasoo yourself Cowboy.
Ya better watch out CB, old Bwarney might like that.
We have seen what this country would be like under a DEMOCRATIC FACIST government
this past year with no checks and balances to ultimate power…….
Now with the lose of the DEMOCRATIC SUPER MAJORITY we hear the DEMOCRATS say……
Oh…..we're sorry…..we'll be more moderate and listen to our citizens…….
DEMOCRATS ARE JUST TRYING TO SAVE THEIR ARSES……
FOOL ME ONCE……SHAME ON YOU…….FOOL ME TWICE……..SHAME ON ME…..
WE ARE THROWING OFF THE CHAINS AND ARE RUNNING FROM THE DEMOCRATIC PLANTATION.
I get the impression Scott Brown is too smart to get played. At least I hope so.
I only need one reason. They're Reds and repulsive to the Spirit and Life of America.
If Blue Mass can go Red, there's hope for everyone.
Just read this in an article from yahoo sports writer Dan Wetzel. It made me laugh, although it may not have particular bearing on this discussion.
UFC star and former WWE star Brock Lesnar about falling ill while in Canada:
"He wasn’t excited about his Canadian medical care, comparing it to “a third world country” where he couldn’t get any treatment."
He almost died up there from diverticulitis. He was saved when he made it back to ND in excruciating pain and received quality care at hospital there.
We do not want government run health care!!!
The End
My reasons:
1) Arrogance
2) Socialism
3) Incompetence
I'm right there with ya !!! God he is a discrace
Nice article – points out that both parties seem to want power for power's sake and that independent voters are the ones who can change this trough we call government. Lets hope this screams to our government to listen to each and every one of us – not party leaders, not lobbyists bu the American people.
Obama's main reason is simple. He got this middle-aged (when did that happen) , slightly portly Conservative to attend rallies protesting the Government of his beloved country! I will not be idle again. I have children.
Period!
lol a lamecherry is someone fresh out of basic going straight to iraq?
In addition to questions about Barry BS' qualifications to be POTUS.Someon must explain how this guy was a constitutional law professor? PLEASE. This dipshit has no clue what the US constition is
Anyone that believes that " Progressive democrats" are suddenly going to become small government cheerleaders is delusional. They'll repackage their marxism in an effort to fool the people, or they'll simply resort to regulation by unelected government czars. The one thing they won't do is give up the belief that government knows best how to run your life, and raise your kids.
People were mad at growth of government, ballooning deficits, arrogance of the political elites in failing to listen, and backroom politicking leading to shady deals. The democrats had a chance to change all that. It's what they campaigned so successfully on, but as soon as they took power they quintupled down on all those things I just listed. Yes, we're mad. MAD AS HELL. They only thing that will save us if for the electorate to really pay attention to every race and become political junkies, so that we really know what we're voting for. Anyone with any sense knew right where BO was going to take us. It was there to be seen in his political past, but too many accepted the, admittedly, fine words and nice face.
Picture that, funny.
"Among other things, Scott Brown’s upset victory means that Obama, who flew up to the Bay State to campaign for the deservedly doomed Coakley in the race’s twilight, is zero for three when it comes to high-profile two-minute drills for beloved causes (remember getting Chicago the Olympics and putting together a global carbon deal at the U.N climate conference in Copenhagen?)."
Shame on you, Nick.
How could you forget Bambi's two (previous to the Massachusetts Massacre) most humiliating failures to excite the masses – the governors' races in VA and NJ?
I can't wait to see who President Midas endorses next!
The shine is off the apple.
The gild is off the lilly.
The emperor has no clothes.
This poser is exposed, and flapping around like an old newspaper hung on the garden gate. His fall has started, and will prove to be unprecedented in its scope. His party has put all of their eggs in his basket, and he has stumbled and cracked them all.
Now, watch as they all start to distance themselves from him and his already-failed agenda.
What whores. What self-serving, greedy, power-hungry whores.
Haha Haha, That has my vote.
Thanks for the chuckle !
butt they told us HE DA MAN!!!….SARAH didn't know squat……well you got yo' MAN…..dumbass…
One thing is for certain: You don't see very many of those "Conservatism is dead! Your days are over! Buh-bye! LOLOLOLOL!" troll posts anymore.
you mean the one above his shoulders??
How about:
1) Obama hates America and our Constitution – wants to turn us into the United Socialist States of America.
2) Open borders to terrorist – now they have "rights".
3) Unprecedented spending – no fiscal responsibility.
4) Empty rhetoric from the delusional, clueless, hubris idiot – can't speak without a telepromter.
5) No leadership or managment skills – OB never held a job.
6) Votes "present" – and throws America under the bus.
7) Most dishonest, disingenuous President ever.
The #1 reason to me?
THEY TREAT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE LIKE CRAP!
Call us mobs, teabaggers, terrorists, idiots, rightwingers, birthers
I AM SICK OF IT! YOU WORK FOR US THE PEOPLE! DONT FORGET IT!
"Harder, harder!"
1. You're
2. A
3. Progressive
I am hoping you are wrong on Haiti.
The right sees a natural disaster, the left sees a million new votes.
Damn straight we've see what this country would be like under Dem Facist…Americans pissed off and up in arms .
He's most likely smoking doobies in a van down by the river.
I always thought there was a bright side to the 2008 elections. I was certain that after 4 years of Obama's Presidency, and Democrat control of Congress, the American people would have had their fill of liberals and their Socialist shenanigans.
I was wrong. It took about 6 months.
Obama is a socialist, period! And we can't forget it.
Did anyone hear that Sarah Palin is going to campaign for McCain? What is she thinking of? SHE HAS LOST MY SUPPORT FOREVER if she does it. He is not a Conservative (how about immigration & tarp?). Maybe she doesn't get what happened yesterday with the SCOTT AROUND THE WORLD!!
1. Liberal Fascism
2. Corporate Cronyism
3. Soft Despotism
Has anyone noticed that Hillary has not commented on this huge defeat? Something could be brewing.
Mike,
I respectfully disagree (very respectfully).
I really don't think that in all the years the Progressives have been advancing their agenda they planned for the "What if the population won't go along with all this?" As they plotted and strategorized in their Ivory Towers, not a one of them played the role of Devil's Advocate and raised those questions.
The left had one reaction to the townhalls and tea party marches– to dismiss us (to their own peril as it turns out). They never took us as a serious threat. I think it is just now dawning on them just how big a threat We the People are to their schemes and how destructive it was to them to underestimated us so badly.
There's another reason why the Dems AREN'T in trouble. The GOP is more likely to nominate Donkeys-In-Elephant-Suits than nominate candidates who actually support the GOP platform. Thus we'll have a choice of McCains, Snowes, Grahams, Collinses, and Crists versus true Dems. Why on earth would anyone buy a Donkey-In-An-Elephant-Suit when one can get a true unmitigated Donkey for the same price?
i'd give hussein a dollar to buy a rat for to gnaw it off.
At some point, voters will take what NJ 101.5 talk show host Jim Gearhart refers to as the "GRIP" philosophy of voting — Get Rid of Incumbent Politicians. Basically, keep voting out the incumbents until you get people who actually solve problems.
I would also encourage people to pick a party and vote in primaries because that's where the candidates are chosen. While people like the label "independent", picking a party does not mean that you have to vote for that party during the election. You can still be independent, but also have a say in the candidate that at least one of the main parties enters into the general election.
My personal solution to the problem is to return the Congress to what the founders originally envisioned:
1) Repeal the 17th Amendment and return the election of Senators t the state legislatures to represent the states' interests. This would would help ensure that Congress doesn't keep passing unfunded mandates to the states.
2) Return the House to one Representative for every 30,000 people or so. Yes, I know that would mean 10,000 Representatives but I think we have the technology to make it work from a functional standpoint. What are the benefits? Being accountable to so few voters would always make their safety a tossup and make it risky to ignore the voters. It would make effective gerrymandering harder, create opportunities for other political parties, and make each Representative less important and more reflective of the views of the voters. On the other side, it would make it harder to parties to wrangle the votes that they need and to manage their parties as a block. Yes, there are some potential risks (how much money could the staffs of 10,000 Representatives squander and how many committees could 10,000 Representatives divide themselves into?) but I think it would be a net plus.
Please note that both of these changes from what the Founders originally designed were products of the "Progressives" at the start of the 20th Century (along with the income tax amendment).
I've pretty much decided that no matter who is President during wartime in USA is not going to be popular unless he tells the populace what it wants to hear. The problem is everyone takes USA for granted and they don't even want to have to think about war. The problem is Islam.
Nick, I repect you and appreciate your writings, but you completely missed this one.
We need the federal government to protect us. Period.
I can take care of my family's health care. I'll find a job when I am unemployed. I'll recycle if I need to, buy a car with better milage if I want to, eat better, whatever! Whatever.
We need the government to protect us from invasion. That's it. I can handle the rest. But President Obama has convinced me that he isn't interested in killing terrorists or at least keeping them locked up forever. No, it appears that he wants to let shyster lawyers get them released on technicalities so that they can come back and try to kill us all again!!! THIS is what WILL NOT STAND. THIS is why we must replace the entire Congress with people who will STOP this horrible man from turning us into FRANCE.
As amazing as it was for Brown to win in MA, it will be equally amazing to get dopey durbin out.
Wow, way to see the positive side! And btw, I say tap my phone call day everyday, I have nothing to hide.
God has blessed us all.
Have you ever smoked cigarettes like a smokestack? Have you ever smoked a smokestack?
Yes I am aware of the RINOS like Snow, and your statement which I take as an insult only supports my position more that this Brown win does not change anything.
No ! as obama is getting what he really wants.
1. clean out our banks accounts – Senate Democrats on Wednesday proposed allowing the federal government to borrow an additional $1.9 trillion to pay its bills, a record increase that would permit the national debt to reach $14.3 trillion.
The unpopular legislation is needed to allow the federal government to issue bonds to fund programs and prevent a first-time default on obligations. It promises to be a challenging debate for Democrats who, as the party in power, hold the responsibility for passing the legislation.
2nd while your all making a big deal on this one guy getting elected, there is a bill be voted on right now to make 40 million mexicans into obama voters.
Add that up 3 TRILLION dollars in 1 year, the money is gone and no one is even asking for proof where that money went
STOP THE WORST ILLEGAL ALIEN AMNESTY EVER PROPOSED!
Below you will find a no-cost internet fax that you can send to your U.S. Representative in protest against Rep. Luis Gutierrez's (D-Ill.) intention to amnesty 12-18 million illegal aliens and increase the number of foreign workers while Americans are experiencing record high unemployment. Gutierrez's intent is to push through this mass amnesty and colossal immigration increases in the first few months of 2010. Send this fax and urge your Members of Congress to oppose all amnesty proposals and to slow the importation of foreign workers.
http://www.numbersusa.com/dfax?series=20JAN10hl
January 20, 2010
Dear Rep. (Your Congressman's Name Will Appear Here),
Please do not support Rep. Luis Gutierrezs comprehensive amnesty bill, H.R. 4321!
It seems apparent that Rep. Gutierrez and his pro-amnesty, anti-American worker colleagues are determined to force a mass amnesty and increased immigration on the American people. If he is successful, millions of American workers will be irreparably harmed. During these trying economic times, the last thing American workers need are more foreign workers to compete for a dwindling number of American jobs.
I urge you to oppose this bill as it is offensive and harmful to hardworking Americans. Please do not support this bill and please urge your Congressional colleagues to do the same.
Sincerely,
(Your Name Will Appear Here)
The election was a backlash against:
1. Statism encouraged by both parties
2. The corrupt relic media
3. Refusal of Washington to heed the will of the people
GOPsaver
That is good.
The best top 3 I've seen so far.
Extremely well stated Joe.
FINEMAN: Maybe not in Massachusetts, but maybe in some places, there are codes, there are images, ah, you know, there are pickup trucks, uh, you could say there was a racial aspect to it one way or another.
***
So according to Fineman, pickup truck are purchased, not to haul things but to make a racial statement.
Well then tell me Fineman, what is the racially correct vehicle to purchase to haul manure?
MCGIRV
My bet is that he is into something a lot more mind (or reality) altering
Kat,
Agree wholeheartedly. McCain threw her under the bus. She will not do herself any favor by associating herself with that RINO. This is among the reasons why I have had difficulty giving my full support to Sarah. She's na brilliant woman but naive in many ways.
Run Sarah, run from the McCain camp.
Mark,
I see you are getting some "thums down" for the above comment. I have to agree with what you have said. Sometimes the truth hurts but we do have several donkeys donning elephant suits.
You're only minus one now.
JoeInMichigan
There are already some hints that a few in the (pain)stream media, are having second thoughts about being in his pocket. Some where even pressing Gibbles with some tough questions lately.
RobertB
They are over on the sites about Haiti, complaining we are not doing enough. (keeping their money in their pockets) but complaing non the less.
MagsTheCat
Now you are getting to closer to the truth, don't hold back so much, let it all out.
Soft despotism? If it is soft, it is just because they are hiding / denying the fact that a despot is a despot! Or telling us we are the despots, which makes them, True, Full Fledged Despots!
What is done in the dark or behind closed doors, and rushed through, before we can see what is going on, is because the DESPOTS don't want us to find out what evil they are passing against us!
There are muliptle reasons why the Obama administration is in trouble. Try starting with 30 unaccountable Czars. How about subserving the US Law under UN authority, How about preventingdevelopment of oil and nuclear energy to create new American jobs, How about kissing the butt of every Arab terrorist they can find, how about getting a Nobel Prise that was completely paid for, How about passing laws to undermine the 2nd amendment. The list goes on. This is a revolutionary tactic called overwhelm the system.
I agree. I couldn't believe it when I heard it. If she supports McCain her political career is over. I was also very disturbed that Scott referred to McCain in his speech last night. Hopefully he won't follow McCain's lead on anything.
Nick Gillespie ,
Your glaring omission of the words/concept/phrase, "American" and or "Conservatism" was shocking.
America hasn't had a Conservative POTUS since Ronald Reagan. (it's not debatable, think about it)
That is what America is embracing before your very eyes, Conservatism. America was founded on that and free market Capitalism, how else do you explain American exceptionalism in comparison to all other nations on the planet ?
Most of the Liberals I know live their lives as Conservatives, yet they are Kool-Aid drinking, useful idiots when it comes time to cast their vote.
And yet even they are waking-up to the fact that they've been duped their entire adult lives by the heroes of their generation, the radical leftist, campus radicals of the 1960's.
An overwhelming majority, of Americans I know are conservative, 30% or more just don't realize it, not yet anyways.
How about you Nick?
At last, someone with a clear picture of the political parties of this country. The only hope may
lie in a third party or would this just amount to cutting the corporate pie in three pieces?
The Demoncats did exactly what was predicted they would do once in power….OVER-REACH! The quest for ultimate control and a Socialistic Utopia. I believe that they really thought that the American people were fully on board with Obama's "change" message, yet as it is turning out, the change is far more radical & costly to even some of the more ardent supporters. When people are losing jobs, homes, etc., they start to re-think the "change" thing. Obama's campaign was centered around "anything but Bush" and the rally cry was "Change"…with no real definition of what that meant, the supporters were so caught up in the wave of excitement that they lost their focus on reality & how to repair a nation in need of help. He has no marketable experience to speak of, his radical past & associations should have been a RED flag, but the protective "bubble" that was built around him by the media kept the focus off of his non-accomplishments & diverted attention to Bush.

"As bad as Bush was?"
Please quit parroting the image spun by the liberal MSM. Bush was a leader who loved his country. Can't say that about Obama.
I think the prestige aspect can't be ignored. Aside from security concerns related to signs of weakness, check out the link on Drudge about Hong Kong being the world's freest economy. Fear and suspicion about how things are running here helps push us way on down the list, making things even worse for businesses.
ditto
A fourth reason is the' Obama Arrogance'.
The message, not so hidden, in all of his appearances is one of: 'Sit Down, Shut Up. Do As We Say Because We Know Better Than You'.
That message , coming from a 'Community Organizer' with a short resume, surrounded by a bunch of over-paid social workers, aided by a bunch of hippie re-treads, and wanna-be revolutionaries in the print and electronic media is enough to make you vote for real 'change' whenever possible.
For sure, unless voters read the material that was available about Obama….they never knew about his real Marxist background and agenda. The MSM never referenced it….and McCain NEVER allowed anyone to really talk about, or examine the info, when he was on the stump. Most Repubicans were afraid of being accused of racism. Perhaps, NOW, those accusations won't have the power that they had over a year ago.
This temporary 18 months staus for the haitians is a farce. We still have people from 5 countries dating back to 1997. Then once they turn 18 and get legal status, they then are allowed to bring family members here. So however many they bring here multiple it by 3 or 4.
Watching the response of people in Massachusetts today I noticed that several of them repeatedly expressed anger at Pelosi and Reid and what they had done to mess up the Presidents agenda. That's simply crazy. Pelosi and dingy Harry are simply carrying water for Obama! And there are millions of people who don't seem to know it. I remain very worried that the Republicans will go right back to making deals and working through the process of passing healthcare. Then they will end up passing some sort of horrible semi-socialist crap, the Democrats will say it was a bi-partisan agreement and tell everyone that the bad parts are the Republicans fault and the GOP loses the high ground in the publics eye, justifiably so, while being played for fools by the Democrats yet again. Why don't the Republican leaders talk anymore about all of the Czars? Challenge the Dems to save $5 billion on medicare to prove we will save $500 billion? They can't do it. But mainly one thing must change to have a hope for long term difference;THE REPUBLICANS MUST WRITE THE NARRATIVE OF WHAT'S HAPPENING, AND ONCE AND FOR ALL STOP LETTING THE DEMOCRATS DO IT (AS BUSH ALWAYS LET THEM DO!).

I gotta ask. How can you LIKE him after seeing his true self? His accomplishments and his goals are who he is. A thief, and a cheat, and a charlatan. The old word was Grifter. What's to like?
He's earned his results, and it started early, April 2009.

2 mill came to his Inauguration 01/19/2009.. 2 mill came to DC on9/12. 2 mill voted in Mass 1/19/2010.
Only the first 2 mill LIKE him.
Hey David, I have a bit of information that I think you'd like me to share with you. The process of instituting a new Amendment to the Constitution is as follows: usually the new Amendments originate in the House of Representatives, they can also come from the Senate and the States themselves. When the States propose a new Amendment, first a majority of 2/3 of all State Legislatures must ratify the Amendment, after this is reached, the House and the Senate must also pass the said Amendment. Then the proposal goes back to the States and a Constitutional Convention is summoned. When 3/4 of State Legislatures pass the resolution for the new Amendment, it's passed and becomes part of the Constitution. When the Amendment is introduced in the House or Senate, it's first passed in the initial legislative body and then passed to the other side. If the resolution passes Congress it goes to the States where it must be passed, once again, by 3/4 of the State Legislatures.See you around, friend …………………… Hanzo
Doug Wright, If we truly want strict constitutionalism practiced (which i myself do) that means, dismantling and ending the unconstitutional federal reserve system, ending direct federal taxation of individual americans income, ending all welfare programs on a federal level that the fed is not given authority by the constitution to engage in…
True Vin, but other factors weigh even more heavily on the rating you cited. Government intrusion(over regulation, etc,), current economic growth, expected economic growth, tax rates, ease of starting a business(especially small businesses in our case), these also factor in, and the statist policies of BHO, if implemented fully, look to push us farther down the list as we sink into the depths of despair. As I'm sure you now know, we are currently ranked 8th on said list, and falling…………….. Hanzo

Ah, a voice of reason.
Leaves more for us.
They are not in trouble if Americans become complacent. They are not worried about those of us who visit this site. They are worried about those who are not typically politically astute all of a sudden becoming aware of not only of what the Dems are doing to them but remembering it come election time. The revolution has begun. This country's very survival is dependent on us keeping vigilant and others learning and remembering daily. It can be done. It will be done.
I've noticed that all day. Maybe they are consoling Martha.
LMAO! THATS GREAT!
Maybe we should just give Obama & Co. their own jet and help them pack for an extended stay in France…they would not be missed here..of course he has to take the whole Chicago mob with him!!
This administrations mistakes would fill a book, their biggest one that leads to all others is their utter contempt for the American people.
Too much has been made of Brown's victory. The only message I hear from it is a man who runs a smart campaign will defeat a woman who runs a bad one. Brown did everything possible to portray himself as an independent, not a Republican, to appeal to the large number of independents in MA who are fed up with BOTH parties. His election will only add to the gridlock in Washington.
What if all the "big spender, arrogant and egotistic politicians" voted out of office are replaced by other big spender, arrogant and egotistic politicians, because that's what has ALWAYS happened in the past? The more things change, the more they stay the same.
What if all the politicians "removed" from office are replaced by other politicians with similar values, because that's what has ALWAYS happened in the past? The more things change, the more they stay the same. In the long run, Brown's victory will be meaningless.
What happens after the regular Joes and Janes go back to their former lives? Do the old politicians return from the dead to take over again? Sorry, David. In America, very few regular Joes and Janes get elected because they can't raise money. Brown is a career politician, not a regular Joe. Mr. Smith goes to Washington is pure fiction. You've been watching too many American movies.
If people think getting health coverage passed is difficult, let them try an Amendment to the Constitution.
Did you have a rough day yesterday?
Too bad for you.
You are exactly right, mrsh. What's to like about this consumate liar? I never liked him from the first time I saw him. Like Jesse Jackson.. just another Chicago race hustler.
[...] Senate Democrats Propose $1.9T Increase To U.S. Debt Limit Three Reasons Why Obama And The Dems Are In Big, Big Trouble [...]
Why are so many Democrats so obsessed with the loss of one election by 100,000 votes while so many other people are elated? All I see is man who ran a good campaign defeating a woman who ran a bad one. Obama's approval rating has hovered around 50% for months so I see no need for panic or elation. If Democrats can't get things accomplished with 59 votes, imagine the difficulties faced now by Republicans with only 41 votes.
In 2010 after the elections all of you here will be making the same inane predictions as now and also every 2 years after that because your goal of electing politicians who lower taxes is totally unrealistic and unattainable. After the 2010 elections I'll look forward to watching all of you "riding the dog" north to Washington to showcase once again your delusional rants and paranoid ideology.
During the early 1900's several were added in relatively rapid fire succession, depends on the political climate, just like any other piece of legislation, such as healthcare. Look at the New Deal, the biggest boondoggle ever perpretated upon the American people, then LBJ's "Great Society".
BMartin, back away from Hollywood and lay down your DVDs. First, the dem senators have 59 votes because the two supposed "Independents" side with the dems. If you think the dems won't go after RINOS like Snowe or Collins, you aren't paying attention.
Randy, it will most likely be the $1,000,000,000,000 bill, not the one billion dollar one.
The real threes reasons:
1 – ABC News
2 – NBC News
3 – CBS News
These so-called news organizations decided collectively from the start of Obama's campaign for the White House that they would not cover any of Obama's socialist ties and views. The majority of American people had to discover the "real" Obama through the internet and secondary news outlets. Americans have learned that these news organizations are nothing but "brainwashing" media outlets for the Obama Machine!
You need to have a little faith. I think people putting someone other than a Dem in office in Mass is a huge warning sign to all politicians that if you say one thing and do another, WE will come for you!!

Oh, but he does have a clue–he is just against it.
Presidents like Obama campaign for candidates or causes that are in trouble or are facing overwhelming odds. Chicago had almost no chance of landing the Olympics after all the publicity about murders in the inner city. About 99% of people in MA had already decided on their vote at the time Obama campaigned there for a candidate that was behind in the polls. Sorry, Joe, but Obama's still the emperor so it's a bit premature to predict his demise. His approval rating is 50%, his party has a large majority in the Senate and House, and most Americans have not forgotten the 8 years of hell they endured before he took office.
Let's face it, Pres. Opompous is, in reality, a narcissistic retard. He will blame EVERY SINGLE PERSON UNDER THE SUN, including his trampy mother, for his failures but you can bet he'll never take the blame for anything he does. The morons of our nation have elected a leftist loon to run our country….and they alone are responsible for the mess our nation is in right now.
After the regular Joe's and Jane's go back to thier normal lives then the next wave of regular Joe's and Jane's come in. This is how our founding fathers saw the government working and the way they designed it. The FF's wanted farmers, bankers, tradesmen, etc. going to Washington, serve the Republic, and return home after a few terms. If we got back to that, our accountability to each other and our country would take care of us ecomonically, politically, socially, etc. and these career politicians that do nothing but further thier own and thier handlers agenda's would be gone.
"An overwhelming majority, of Americans I know are conservative"!!!
Where do you live, Mike? In a town with 3,481 inhabitants out in the boondocks somewhere? You definitely need to widen your circle of friends because your current ones aren't a cross-section of the population. Let's tell the truth here. Conservatives like you don't hang out with liberals because they avoid them as if they had a contagious disease so it's hardly surprising that everyone around you is conservative. Most conservatives are so closed-minded they aren't even willing to listen to positions presented by libs, blocking them out entirely without making any attempt to determine if the ideas have any value. Cons receive all their news about the world from Fox News and Rush Limbaugh so they don't need to listen to anyone else.
BK101,
That my friend is part of my point. Our positions of leadership were not intended to be gifts to the richest Bast@rds and B!tches who could BUY them.
We do need true campaign finance reform somehow. I've posted some of my concerns on this topic in Big threads… Probably some form of term limits as well.
Somehow we need to return this country to the basics and basis of what the Founders intended, before like ancient Rome we rot from within due to corruption and evil self serving leadership.
I only wish I had all the answers.
DemImNot
Good post. I 100% agree.
WHAT ABOUT MARXISM??? I DON'T THINK THAT IS THE "IDEAL" OF A REAL AMERICAN!!!
I council caution. It is wonderful to see so many true patriots speaking out and using their God given
right to comment on the wayward path of this Democratic administration but I venture to say their(DNC) next
move will be to insure the 12 to 15 millon illegal aliens that are in our country get a "special dispensation'
towards early citizenship or just a plain Alien voters rights act to insure a permanent 1 party system.
Of course stating this belief will automaticly brand me as a racist ,well so be it. I am a Texan and I am old enough
to remember a time when if you were anything but a Democrat you were considered to be something from the dark side of the moon and the other kids threw rotten tomatoes at your parents car.
Correction.
Nine million.
Allegedly Rahmbo said to some congressmen, "Don't think we're not keeping score." Got news for you, Barry, "The American people are keeping score, too." Enjoy your only term – and remember – you make Jimmah Carter look goooooddddd.
This is just misinformation, unbridled hyperbole and paranoia. I'm not sure where to get started on this one!
1. The lawyers representing Hasan and Abdulmutallab are public defenders appointed and paid by the government. They won't get the Dream Team and their "shyster" lawyers won't get them released on technicalities. Come back to reality. These guys will go away for life.
2. Replace all of Congress, you say! I assume all the replacements will be Republicans so you certainly have a lot of work ahead of you if you hope to do this before 2012! What if all the politicians you want to vote out of office are replaced by other politicians with similar values to the ones removed, because that's what has ALWAYS happened in the past?
3. We need the Federal Government to protect us, nothing else??? What planet are you living on? We don't need Social Security, educational facilities, the VA, national parks and other recreation areas, bank examiners, the FDA, the Federal Reserve, the Commerce Department, the Treasury Department, the EPA, NASA, the FAA, the IRS, HUD, the Federal Highway Administration, post offices, passport offices, Labor Relation Boards, etc., etc.? Your plan would seem to necessitate laying off millions of Americans. For your sake, I hope you and your family aren't employees of the Federal Government or need federal services from the government after all these agencies are eliminated.
4. You can take care of your family's health care and won't need any assistance??? Don't be so sure about that. If you were to suffer a debilitating injury that prevented you from working, how would you continue to take care of your family? What would you do if your wife or children became very sick and their insurance ran out, sticking you with hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical bills? You may be able to go it alone now but if things don't always go as planned in the future, you and your family may need the services of government agencies not directly related to protection of the country.
Obama and the Dem's should acknowledge and act upon what the fine people of Massachusetts told them with their vote regarding big government and big spending.
But they won't.
Thank you Massachusetts.
keep drinking the kool-aid. keep telling the dems to keep doing exactly what they've been doing. we've got you right where we want you…
You forgot Barbara Boxer!!!
At first I wanted to say:
I might have missed a few sane comments here but overall I make it that you are all mostly ignorant a-holes that have been brainwashed by American mainstream media. And you have no hearts. And there's still racism in there too. And by the way Republicans and Democrats, RepubliCrats, are 2 faces of the same coin.
But that's not entirely fair, some of you have it right, some of you sound like decent folk but there are still too many of you that are ignorant racist bigot a_holes.
So let's do a little short history so we should never forget that Bush inherited a budget surplus and warnings about terrorism. Then 911 happened. By the time they were done abusing a major failure on their watch for their own agenda, our constitution was in shambles, our bill of rights was shredded. National security has not improved even though they threw billions at it. I know what I speak of I work in the air tranportation industry. Low tech surprise keep coming at us slow and steady. They had us in fear mode and they controlled the level of fear.
Then they lied to embroil us into personal vendetta, oil wars. Which was also the slap down of another one of our dictator not listening to us anymore. Do you realize how much oil we are talking about? If you add Iran well shit. You control the world. That's why they lie about Chavez. He is a torn in their side. He wants to take care of Venezuelans first making sure they are educated, have healthcare, and he uses royalties from oil to help pay for all this. and he also has a lot of oil.
Then let's not forget that THEY grew the biggest government ever, THEY tripled the deficit into the trillions stratosphere and with a final coup the grace, trashed the world economy with an orgy of deregulated perverse massive gambling on steroids with our life's gains, our retirement plans and the equity in our houses. Whew! Millions homeless, a high rate of poverty and homeless children. No healthcare for a large portion of our friends or family or neighbors. 2+ wars, extended tours, the use of expensive mercenary armies, The appropriation of our NATIONAL Guard to fight foreign wars……
Ooops I almost forgot their last act, drill baby drill, which was about fast tracking gas drilling permits, which by the way are already destroying and polluting our drinking water systems. But hey who needs drinking water. Ask the Haitians how they feel about clean drinking water right now? Fpr that matter ask the New Orleans peole about drinking water and disaster response.
I din't vote for Obama but I don't paranoically and blindingly blame him for our current failures. He inheritted a giant mess.
What I will do is fight him for keeping the status quo. We need massive change and both the Democrats and Republicans need to go. I like it when we hear about some nation disolving their government and starting over. Why can't we do that? They are corrupt, ineffective, opportunistic, war profitteers. They have no vision for healthy sustainable ecological living. They don't understand it and they don't care.
They are the greed is good crowd and they all need to go.
What kind of logic do you use when you make a statement such as, "…stock market has skyrocketed under Obama benefiting tens of millions of Americans who were wiped out during Bush's presidency"
All-time high of 14,164.53 on Oct. 9, 2007.
All time low of 6,547.05 on March 9,2009.
Dow Jones on January 21, 20 is 1010,603.15
For you the mathematically challenged BK101 that means that the investors in the market have only recovered half of what they lost. That means that the investors in the market have not recovered the other half that they lost. The investors are still in the negative. You can only say that the stock market has skyrocketed and benefited tens of millions of people when those investors are no longer in the negative equity as it pertains to their investments. As of today, nobody has gained back what they have lost in their stocks when the market hit its' low of 6,547.05 from its height of 14,164.53.
This is Obama's economy now.
Obama = $700,000,000,000 TARP
Obama = $1,200,000,000,000 Federal Stimulus
Obama = $6,400,000,000,000 Federal Reserve Rescue
Obama = 10% unemployment when he stated if all of the above was done that the unemployment number would not go over 8%
These are Obama's actions and Obama's words. Nobody else made him or his Progressive controlled Congress buddies (Reid and Pelosi) say and do these things. They did it all by themselves. Bush did not make them do it. Beck, Oreilly, Hannity, Palin, etc.. did not make them do it. Obama and his Progressive buddies in Congress are the only ones responsible for these actions and words. NOBODY ELSE. PERIOD THE END.
Step up to the plate Progressives. Be big boys and girls. Stop going to your therapists and blaming your failures on mommy and daddy. You put in the backup quaterback and he is throwing more interceptions than the starter who you benched (and in all fairness that starter stunk up the field) and the backup quaterback is trying to blame the team's failure on the quaterback who is no longer on the field. Grow up. Be a man or a woman. Stop acting like little kids. Take Responsibility for your own mistakes.
Eh.
Obama's approval rating is, indeed, (almost) 50%. But this, BK101, is just a snapshot – a static vidcap which says nothing about the full year of footage that went before – a year that has seen his approval rating drop more precipitously than any president before him. Remember 64%? January 2009?
Gone.
"Presidents like Obama campaign for candidates or causes that are in trouble or are facing overwhelming odds."
That's exactly the point, BK. They do so, because the hope is that their awesome awesomeness will rub off on their awe-challenged cohort, and, in this case, excite the base to come out and vote. Obama excited the base, alright. Only it was Scott Brown's base. Go look at the poll numbers before and after Obama's visit. He did nothing for Coakley, except to reinforce to everyone that she would be another lapdog for him and his agenda.
Now, I just heard on the news that Obama is heading out to Nevada to stump for Harry Reid. But come on – Reid has got absolutely nothing to lose. He's dead in the water, and has played every other card he had. Watch. By the time the campaigns really start kicking in to gear, the Demos will be flocking to avoid him, just as Repubs avoided Bush in 2008.
Yesterday, Chris Matthews trashed Obama's agenda to Howard Dean. Chris f-ing Matthews, BK! When Chris Matthews' leg stops tingling, you got some trouble, amigo. And what Chrissy told Dean holds a lesson for you, as well:
You're whisting past the graveyard, dude.
Watch the vote on the extentsion of our national debt to find out who is really looking out for the nation. That will tell you who is worthy of realection.
All bow to the mental superiority of an individual who calls a group of people "racist bigot a_holes." Dude, you do realize that you have used a double negative in your writing, which creates a positive/opposite to what you are saying. A bigot is a racist. A racist is a bigot. (For that matter racists are a–holes and bigots are a–holes.) There can't be a racist bigot. That would make that person the opposite of what you are proclaiming. Double Negative. Got it.
Isn't it awesome when a person proclaims to have more heart than another person. What does that mean? How do you judge that? What is your rubric? What gives you the omnipresent power to see into the heart and soul of individuals? Dude, we have to know. Isn't it also awesome when that person claims to be mentally and morally superior to others and calls people a–holes. Lead by example with your mental and moral superiority. MLK,Ghandi, Budda, Jesus, etc… definitely attacked and called those who opposed them a–holes, bigots, racists to demonstrate their greater moral and mental heart. Awesome! Oh wait, they didn't. Never mind.
Which main stream media outlet are you referring? PBS, NBC, ABC, CBS or Fox News. Mainstream Media as it pertains to tv is considered to be network channels that use public airwaves to broadcast their station from. You can get these channels for free. If you refer to Fox Cable News (which is the most watch news outlet on all television) that is not what is consider to be the mainstream. For that matter, neither is MSNBC or CNN (but not a great number of people watch those outlets). Those are cable outlets which are considered not to be in the mainstream. You can't get cable channels for free. They are private. Not public. Which leads me back to my original question, to which mainstream media (free public network) news channel are you referring. Remember that for you bi-conditional to work you must have a majority of those mainstream tv media (free public network) in a cabal to brainwash the public. If you need help with numbers, that is 3 out of 5. Radio (which is free to the public) has as many liberal commentators as it does conservative. Those are facts. The conservative talk radio stations are just more successful than their counterparts. The internet is a land of free and glorious exchange of ideas. You can find just as many conservative websites as you can liberal/progressive websites. It is awesome.
When you come on this website and make such proclamations and ad-hominem attacks against individuals proclaiming your mental and moral superiority, it is laughable when you use a double negative and can't even get something as simple as mainstream media (free public networks) vs. not free (that means you have to pay for them) cable channels. How can anybody take anything else you have to say seriously when you are shown to be tremendously incorrect on such simple concepts in your first sentence. We are waiting. CHIRP, CHIRP, CHIRP. Dang, those crickets are loud.
he is done because he is a musssslim poke a fork in him the party is officially over time to take AMERICA back

Great article. It's a simple fact that the Democrats' agenda under Obama is entirely unsustainable to the American public, and we ought to be thankful for it. Now, the GOP must embrace the "teabaggers" and assume its place as the "more sane" of the two parties. The underlying principles ain't so bad, and America's listening.
They wouldn't know what the hell to do with any one of those three.
I guaruntee he's smoking like a locomotive.
I said yesterday, if you look outside the Oval office window, the WH yard looks like a giant ashtray…….
These powerful thugs are going to be SHOKED when they find out people are unable to pay their property taxes, their mortgages, and because they are not working they also will not have payroll or SS/FED income coming into their coffers either. Keep spending like there's no tomorrow Dems.
You are not going to be able to spend your way out of this economic disaster.
where is Murtha?
again thank you Massachussets,we still have work to do til november ! we make mistake and some how we will g

This election of Brown was because of hussain obama. Thats all there is to that . It had nothing to do with the conditions being the same as what got his dumb ass elected. He is so arogant , so is his congress it reminds me of the the blind leading the blind right off the cliff. Only thing is I wish they would all literally go off a cliff. They are all a pack of liers and thieves its time to get are country back from the mouth of the big bad wolf or should I say the beast.
One huge addition on the list above should be that Americans do not want enemy combatants treated as US Citizens.
GET the trial of KSM out of NYC!
Yeah, we know that "Hard" is more apropo.
More basic reasons…
Socialist / Comunist agenda – we didn't wear down and defeat Communism to become the USSA – United Socialist States of America
Stupidity – they still think that they can continue to govern w/o listening to the people who voted them in – and no I don't mean ACORN or SIEU
Hopefully, when the Enlightened One gives his State of the Union Address this month, when he utters another misstatement Joe Wilson will again speak up.
This time if another RINO opens his mouth it better be to support him or to stuff it with a biscuit.
Hey Barry, when Peanut found himself out of office he took up carpentry and spent his time putting up homes for Habbitat for Humanity. Brush up on those skills, I think that you and he will both be one-term-wonders.
Like Peanut, you can spend you off time embarassing the US by making similar inane comments like he has.
The Obamaites are the same arrogant, smug, self-important, spoiled 60's radicals who thought it was cool and empowering to sneak around behind their own countrymen's back and blow up university (e.g., Wisconsin-Sterling Hall) buildings and government (e.g US Cap.-Bill Ayers) buildings, and trash our armed forces. They are roaches, that scatter like the punk sniviling cowards they really are when the light's turned on to them. Obamites' problem is that they really think their social revolutionary theory works; it DOESN'T. They should be paddled and put to bed without their supper.

Put some real people in these powerful posts…..no more career politicians! Indianapolis Tea Party founder Richard Behney http://www.richardbehney.com/ By Bayh!
The main reason why Obama is in trouble is that he doesn't belong in the White House in the first place! The democrats and the republicans really screwed the American People with this guy! Barack Obama should never had been allowed to run for the Office of the President at all because he is not Constitutionally qualified under ARTICLE 2 SECTION 1 of the U.S. Constitution! Barack Obama's father is the reason that Obama can not qualify for ARTICLE 2 SECTION 1! The democrats and republicans who swear oath to uphold and protect the U.S. Constitution waved their middle finger to the Constitution so this guy can become AMERICA'S ILLEGAL PRESIDENT of the UNITED STATES of AMERICA! And the MSM will report to you about some guy being bitten on the ass by a shark while swimming in the ocean before the will report to you this AMERICAN CRIME OF THE CENTURY!
Libertarians immediately reach for another joint when anyone mentions "foreign policy" and Cato's complaints about the matter (as if THEY had any ideas) are positively farcial. Iraq is doing pretty well, guys — no thanks to you. Your solution was to abandon the country, remember? Isn't that the usual libertarian answer — cut and run and then blame America all the while?
Well, yah, I was just noodling about some of the harder to quantify things. Emotional states can be powerful factors as well. I like your summary though, my economics prof would have loved you! I _didn't_ know, and wouldn't have guessed, until I saw that article that we were ranking so badly in such terms. Yeesh. Come on America, I'm rootin' for ya!
Good on your economics prof then
……………… Hanzo
Yes, Americans have minds but don't always put them to good use. Four of the last five Governors in MA have been Republicans. Have people forgotten Mitt Romney and his three predecessors? Why would people be so shocked that a Republican would win there? Sorry, Boomer, but Brown, a career politician, won't bring about any "change" other than derailing health care and when you finally recognize that you'll be the one who's sorely disappointed. Do you remember, "Brownie, you're doing a helluva job"? Several days later he was fired.
Thanks for the laugh!!…My Dad had a mole
near his hairline, but bozo's is in such a funny
spot….lol…Although, you are probrably right,
it's his head, not a mole…
I think you missed the point. This wasn't about Brown winning the election. This was about the people making their opinions heard that the road the current administration is taking is not what the people want. It was the fact that the democrats thought they had this election locked up and didn't listen to the people. This goes to a larger picture that the American people don't want the majority party to have carte blanche rule and do whatever they want, just because they can.
YOU 'BETCHA, Cowboy Logic!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hanzo,
Thank you friend for that good info.
I think the place to start is with a conservative Governor's group and get the states to pass it first and as they stack up the legislative branch would begin to feel… PRESSURE…
Thanks again.

Is the Obama administration in "major" trouble? His approval rating is 50%, his party has a large majority in the Senate and House, and most Americans have not forgotten the 8 years of hell they endured before he took office. One election won't change much of that but let's look ahead 3 years to see who might defeat him in 2012.
Here are the top 11 candidates at the moment, in no particular order.
1. "Lying" Joe Wilson who energized the base but humiliated himself in the eyes of many Republicans and most of the country
2. John McCain who will be much wiser and much more experienced in another 3 years but also much older
3. Sarah Palin who will resign in two years because she can't hunt moose in Washington and misses her 8 illegitimate grandchildren back in Alaska.
4. Glenn Beck, the current darling of the extreme, extreme right who's a recovering alcoholic and drug addict, the ideal candidate for the religious right
5. Rush Limbaugh III, the college drop-out who's been divorced III times and illegally obtained the prescription drugs oxycodone and hydrocodone and later was arrested for doctor swapping.
6. Mike Huckabee, the creationist hick who is so ignorant of scientific matters he believes humans are not the descendants of primates, the mammalian order to which humans including his mother and father belong.
7: Newton Gingrich, the former Speaker who condemned Clinton for his sexual transgressions at the same time he was having an extra-marital affair with Callista Bisek
8: Willard Romney, the Mormon who changed his view of abortion when his constituency changed
9: Condi Rice who would be vilified by African Americans everywhere for attacking and working to unseat the first African American president
10. Colin Powell, Bush's colon, who supported Barack Obama in the last election.
11. Last but certainly not least, our "Brownie", who'll campaign across the country in his dilapidated pick-up truck.
In a radio interview today from which the main story to come out has been Arlen Sphincter's telling Michelle Bachmann to "act like a lady" and stop interrupting, a very important point Michelle made got buried in the noise. In response to a (unheard) question from Sphincter about how she had voted on something or other, Ms. Bachmann was saying she had voted for "prosperity". Sphincter played dumb and pressed her as to what it was she had really voted for. She kept to her guns and, in explanation, said that she was for job creation. And that in fact, she and her husband, as business owners, have actually created jobs, as opposed to the Obama administration, only 7% of whom have ANY private-sector experience at all. Seven percent !!!!
I hadn't realized that. But how telling!
She posited that this is why all of their solutions involve expanding government.
Makes perfect sense. Look at the top two guys – Obama and Biden. Their entire careers have been spent suckling at the public teat, whereas Bush and Cheney both had plenty of real-world business experience.
And on down the line – Holder, Clinton, Napolitano, Lloyd, Van Jones and all the other czars – no business chops at all. This is why these people think government work is a real job (no offense to public employees – I was one years ago), but come on…you're paid with our taxes and you don't produce anything. Not that we could survive as a nation without many of them, but most of the things the government does outside of providing for the safety and security of our citizens can be done much more competently and efficiently in the private sector.
So this is just my (probably too long) way of saying that people have had enough, and they know when a bunch of charlatans in Washington are shucking and jiving them, and trying to teach their grandmothers to suck eggs. Our collective bullshit meter has been rung, and the curtain has lifted. We are very suspicious of government power and intrusion into our lives. Even many democrats, I believe, have reached critical mass – they realize that not only are these posers trying to do too much, but what they are trying to do costs too much, is not being done in any sensible order (HELLO! – jobs before cap & tax), and that they have absolutely no idea how to get these crap sandwiches through Congress, let alone how to implement them.
We are suffering legislation fatigue, and I believe this is the main reason the dems are in Big, Big Trouble.
exactly…….
All of above comment are correct need to add Cap and Tax and the Green jobs Scam.
If you're missing the bigger picture here I can't change that. In fact if you truly believe there wern't national implications as the reason for Coakley's defeat I won't even try to dissuade of that false notion.
There is a large portion of the electorate unhappy with the direction of the counrty – that's not typically unusual, they helped elect Barry Hussein – this time they are speaking out, turninh out and voting out unpopular politicians. I expedct some deadwood Republicans to be culled too, this is equal opprotunity anger.
No GOPer should be relaxing and smoking a cigar, they could be unemployed just as quickily.
The country is rejecting Obama's far left agebda – doesn't mean the independents will embrace what you would call a far right agenda instead.
The French are inheriant snobs, they'd be bored with Obama and crew after a few days.
All I can say is that this country is in real trouble and there is plenty of blame to go around but someone better fix it soon or I think there will be a revolution against the government.
