Three Reasons Why Obama and The Dems Are in Big, Big Trouble.
by Nick GillespieOver at Reason.com, my colleague Matt Welch and I list three basic reasons why the Dems are in big, big trouble. And one reason why they’re not:
Martha Coakley’s resounding defeat in the Massachusetts Senate race is hardly the sort of anniversary gift President Barack Obama could have predicted. Yet there it was, wrapped in a bow and plopped on his doorstep like a flaming bag of dog poo to mark the end of his first year in office.

Among other things, Scott Brown’s upset victory means that Obama, who flew up to the Bay State to campaign for the deservedly doomed Coakley in the race’s twilight, is zero for three when it comes to high-profile two-minute drills for beloved causes (remember getting Chicago the Olympics and putting together a global carbon deal at the U.N climate conference in Copenhagen?).
There are at least three basic reasons, plain as the nose on your face, that the Democrats and Obama are in trouble for the near future:
1. Health care reform is not popular. An ABC News/Washington Post poll published on January 19 has 51 percent against current congressional plans and just 44 percent in favor, numbers that haven’t moved in a month. Other polls show even greater percentages oppose the plan, with all the trend lines over the past year working heavily against the Democrats.
People fear the obvious: “Reform” that increases the government’s role in anything virtually guarantees steadily increasing costs, lower levels of services, and ballooning federal deficits. All the special-interest carve-outs to buy votes from wavering senators and pay down objections from Big Labor didn’t help either, especially on an issue that was not boiling over on the front-burner of voter concerns at a time of prolonged economic crisis.
2. The stimulus and TARP bailouts are not popular. They never were, even back when Republicans were pushing them, and are getting less and less so as it becomes clear that such policies are at best ineffective and at worst horribly counterproductive. During his first year in office, reports Congressional Quarterly, Obama got what he wanted from Congress a record-setting 97 percent of time, so it’s not like he’s simply muddling through with a bad hand. Yet the president (and by extension, the Dems) are tanking when it comes to handling the economy, both in terms of results and job approval. An NBC/Wall Street Journal poll from January 10 shows just 43 percent approving of Obama’s economic policies, down from 56 percent a year ago.
Simply put, nobody believes that weatherizing vacant homes in Detroit or keeping an already bloated public sector on permanent life support is going to restart the economy.
3. The wars in Afghanistan and Iraq are not popular. Neither is Obama’s foreign policy more generally. According to Gallup, Obama’s reaction (or non-reaction) to the Christmas Day bomber had a marginally positive effect on the president’s marks for handling terrorism, but it remains a fact that his positions on Iraq and especially Afghanistan are at odds with most Americans. Whatever latent peacenik tendencies his supporters and detractors assumed he harbored, Obama has doubled, or even tripled, down in Afghanistan while following the Bush-Petraeus withdrawal plan in Iraq. This may qualify as hope, but it doesn’t count much as change. Especially since we’ve still got no real clear mission in Afghanistan, despite having been there for so long.
Obama’s failure to define a coherent foreign policy is not his alone. At the end of the Cold War, the political class shrugged and almost immediately began to spend “the peace dividend” that came with a winding down of military spending as a percentage of GDP and the federal budget. Both George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton cut relative military spending, as they should have. Where they, and Bush II and Obama so far, manifestly failed was in working to build a consensus of what U.S. foreign policy should be. We continue to pay for that failure in wasted dollars and, more damningly, wasted lives.
All is not ashes for Obama and the Democrats, of course. After all, a new AP-GfK poll finds that 49 percent of Americans want the Democrats to maintain control of Congress (just 37 percent are pulling for the Republicans to take charge). The GOP had its run at the top and the results were nothing less than a disaster on just about every front.
For those of us who don’t paint our faces for either the red or blue teams, the tragicomedy of American politics is that each party looks pretty freaking awesome when compared to its counterpart. As bad as Bush was, Obama may well be worse. As rotten as Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi are, just remember Trent Lott and Dennis Hastert. Now reverse the party affiliations and repeat. In their hour of darkness, all the Dems need to recall is that they are running against Republicans. And vice versa. Independents–the only reliably growing voting bloc in an electorate long since fatigued by two-party politics–are swinging violently against Democrats after throwing the Republican bums out in 2008 and 2006.
The hangover from the first year of Obama and the afterglow of Scott Brown’s stunning senatorial upset can teach the major parties some real lessons: First and foremost, listen to the voters, especially voters who are calling for smaller government despite very tough times. In a recent ABC News/Washington Post survey, 58 percent say they favor smaller government that provides fewer services rather than bigger government and more services (38 percent want that). Moving in that direction would indeed constitute change. For a change.
The way back to voters’ hearts is not through boosting the size and scope of government (something else that Obama and the Dems simply filched from the Bush-era GOP) but by unmistakably trimming some sails. Health care reform, such as it is, should consist of giving individuals more options via a deregulated, non-job-based marketplace where costs are made more transparent rather than less so. It works everywhere else in the economy and will work in health care. Regarding government spending, it means freezes all around and reductions in staff sizes at all levels of government. It means starting (and winning) a debate over ridiculous public-sector retirement packages that bankrupt whole polities for the benefit of a privileged few. With foreign policy, it means thinking through a coherent set of principles that will guide our interactions, and not just our reactions, in the world, focusing on trade rather than aid and warfare. It means fighting terrorism with amply-funded intelligence services rather than the misbegotten occupation of whole troubled regions.
The 21st century has so far been a tremendous disappointment to those of us who remember the end of the 20th. We know that today’s leaders are dogs, but here’s hoping they are not so old that they can’t learn a few new tricks. Especially since we are the ones that will continue paying for their mistakes.

Three reasons?
Barrack
Hussein
Obama………….
Happy anniversary Barry. I like youbut your accomplisments stink in too many ways for me to print.
You have it exactly right Logic. Score- Obama- 0 American people- 100. God Bless America
Obama just simply doesn't know what he is doing. He either dithers or blunders. The leftists in Congress follow him, dithering and blundering. No matter what side you're on there's not much to like. We're afraid he will do what he wants to and the other side is afraid he won't.
How about…
1 – Because the continue to flog Blame America First
2 – Because they are typical elitist do nothing hypocrites, and
3 – All thier policy ideas are lame assed Euro/Socialist/Communist crap that ha failed REPEATEDLY all around the world?
They are empty suits, full of hot air promises and corruption, with minimal brain cells and NO FRICKIN Common Sense!
GO TEA PARTY!
This country need a bunch of regular Joes and Janes to go into political SERVICE fora part of their career, clean the place up, and then go back to their lives.
Mr. or Mrs. Smith goes to Washington style.
GO TEA PARTY!
While the three reasons listed in the article are:
1. Healthcare
2. TARP and the Bailouts
3. The wars in Afghanistan and Iraq
There are several other new reasons.
1. Haiti. We don't need another multibillion boondoggle on someone elses shores.
2. Homeland security is a farce
3. American prestige is at low tide
Congressman Joe Wilson rang the bell, and woke US up.
Barry, YOU LIE!
How about this reason?
They are a bunch of SOCIALIST A HOLES.
I cannot mention my favorite writer because my posts get banned but this is the opinion:
" Mark the words, this is the same George Mitchell mob who suckered Bush 41 into breaking his "read my lips" promise into raising taxes "for the good of America" and then they beat him to death with it. They will seek now to offer some power to the GOP to get them to sign onto some scat "fixing things" while implementing rationed death
Asking the GOP to get involved is going to be the sign that the GOP will be destroyed.
I warn again Scott Brown and the GOP, to not get involved in this. Mr. Brown, keep your promise in stopping Obamacare, AND DO ONLY THAT. Wait for the fall elections for the GOP to get into power if God wills, and then take a 5 step program to fix health care, but stick Conservative things into it which Obama will veto, as in undoing all his crazy mandates."
Thank you l* a* m* e* cherry for your thoughts as I pass them along.
You sold me.
I like the short, abbreviated version.
He wonders why the people who elected him to serve or unhappy. He seems to come across arrogant and smug.

Heh, I like it short and simple….at my age the simpler the better….LOL
Bill
Of
Rights
I'll take it a step further and say that the three things listed in the article ARE NOT WORKING….
Why do your posts get banned for mentioning someone? Who?
Did you hear Bwarney's radio interview the other day? I cant stand to hear him speak any more…he sounds like such a QUEEEEAR.
Obama knows what he is doing. Trying to change the country. Just like John R. says,we have a bunch of cry baby hippies in the White house and Goverment. They have an agenda and it isn't pretty. They don't care about the Consitution or the Bill of Rights, The founding Fathers were a bunch of evil men, slave owners.. blah blah blah…
I am hoping that with the election of Brown America is waking up and there is true hope and change for the rest of us in deep blue states. The non communist Democrats and Republicans should listen to the people.
Sounds like………..?
I wish he would have that mole removed….lol
Well, we know he is but my gosh his voice and that lissssisssissssp.
Last line spells the name and I don't know why they get banned. It's a mystery to me.

David Montgomery above is correct; I've made the same point a few times myself. Obama & Co. are totally head over heels enamoured with Euro-style socialism.
It makes "a thrill go up Obama's leg" and up the legs of the rest of the neo-socialist bourgeoisie.
Limos and $500 dinners for the Manhattan elite (Olbermann etc.), and state controlled poverty, subsistance and rationed healthcare for all the "red necks in flyover counrty."
Again, the idea of "healthcare reform" has little to do with actual reform, or even healthcare (the taxes would begin almost immediately, the "care part" in three or four years!) it is about creating growing the bureacracies that will be involved, hiring new union-robot Democrat voters and fundementally shifting the political paradigm to the LEFT.
Hey Barry, Harry, and Nannie,__In case you haven't noticed, the American people have minds, we think, we remember, we keep score! We're not the stupid hicks that you think we are. We have voices, we have opinions, and we have votes. Have you noticed the people marching in Washington DC saying "Enough is enough". Evidently not! Did you listen to the local elections in November? Evidently not! Did you listen yesterday when a REPUBLICAN won the senate seat from Mass? Hopefully so, but I have my doubts. The "Change" you promised is coming, only not the one you wanted. Do not understimate us or try to trivialize us. You will be sorely disappointed!
Four more reasons that the Dims are in trouble: Freddie, Fannie, Frank, and Franklin.
I'd like to swap him so hward it'd knock the wissssp wight out of him………..
I give up.
I was never good with word puzzles.
What the hell is a lame cherry?
It will be curious to see what they will do now. We have seen this movie before, well if your a Star Wars fan you have. Brown won, but dems still have majority votes. They only need 51 and they now after yesterday have 57. Question is will they back off or continue on course. Back to the mentioned movie connection. If your a Star Wars fan youve seen this in Ep3. The "separtists" have been beaten the power should go back to the Republic, now either the 3 stooges(Pelosi,Reid,Obama) will back off or they'll pull a "Palpatine" show their true "Sith Lord" colors ie Progressives and ram as many bills through as possible between now and Nov with their "no repeal clause" built in like they have in the HC bill, or has that been stopped??! I dunno so much going on behind closed door anymore its best to expect the worst out of these people.
I agree. Bush 41 got used, and he fell for it. That idiot "luxury tax" was a stupid idea designed primarily to make a liar out of G.H.W. Bush – and it worked.
The mass population wasn't taxed and it didn't matter – yacht buyer just moved their purchases to Barbados.
Never – ever – ever – trust a Democrat that just wants to "help". Scott Brown – listen politely – then walk away.
George Washington, our nation's first president and leader of the American Revolution! His picture goes on the $1.00 Bill.
Abe Lincoln, honorable leader pulled our nation through its darkest time! His Picture is on the $5.00 Bill.
Ben Franklin, Genius inventor, political theorist and leading author of the constitution. We put his Picture on the $100.00 Bill.
I would like to Nominate Obamas Picture to be the first President on our Food Stamp!
The real reason Mr. Brown won is that people have no other choice. The R's and D's have rigged the party organization laws, the ballot access laws, the campaign finance laws, the coverage and debates so as to essentially outlaw other political parties. They are now just two wings of the same corrupt gang of crooks and we ping-pong back and forth between them, using the only option we have, which is to throw out whichever of the two gangs has screwed up last. All this analysis is just part of the Kabuki dance front end, to convince us that it makes a difference who wins. It doesn't. Both of these parties are stuffed to overflowing with statist hacks who will tax, borrow and print us into ruin while tapping our phones, stealing our homes and blundering us into endless wars for their own power and privilege. The only thing that changes is which gang's supporters get the loot. Brown is just the latest fraud served up by the system. An empty victory that will have no significant except to the partisans on each side.
Only solution long term is to have a party "Elder" standing off to the side reminding the Republicans that they must follow Conservative principles all the way; no more Compassionate baloney, straight Constitutionalism have to be adhered to always.
That "Elder" could be the young Sarah Palin or the young Scott Brown or another conservative who can hold the attention of the politicians because Potomac Fever is virulent down there in DC; cf. Lott, Delay, and others.
Three reasons why Obama and the Dems are in big, big trouble.
(1) bibles
(2) guns
(3) pickup trucks
You left off my favorites. Dickless Durbin and his marionette that is occupying the corruptocrat in chiefs old senate seat.
Actually 4 and it's name is MSNBC !!!!! I just don't get it – i really don't …. This man is full of hate and anger that I can't stand to watch him… I mean I truly do not let my kids watch him becuse he preaches hate !!!!! Why does MSNBC allow this ?

http://lamecherry.blogspot.com/
I think you just won the prize for best post tonight!
With those three, we don't need much else.
My 3:
1. Corruption
2. Democrats
3. Republicans
LOLOLOL..Thank you for that.
That, or maybe more fittingly, on a $1,000,000,000 bill.
Little Dick Durbin……why he just another corrupt Lib that will be replaced soon.
You're pretty good with a lasoo yourself Cowboy.
Ya better watch out CB, old Bwarney might like that.
We have seen what this country would be like under a DEMOCRATIC FACIST government
this past year with no checks and balances to ultimate power…….
Now with the lose of the DEMOCRATIC SUPER MAJORITY we hear the DEMOCRATS say……
Oh…..we're sorry…..we'll be more moderate and listen to our citizens…….
DEMOCRATS ARE JUST TRYING TO SAVE THEIR ARSES……
FOOL ME ONCE……SHAME ON YOU…….FOOL ME TWICE……..SHAME ON ME…..
WE ARE THROWING OFF THE CHAINS AND ARE RUNNING FROM THE DEMOCRATIC PLANTATION.
I get the impression Scott Brown is too smart to get played. At least I hope so.
I only need one reason. They're Reds and repulsive to the Spirit and Life of America.
If Blue Mass can go Red, there's hope for everyone.
Just read this in an article from yahoo sports writer Dan Wetzel. It made me laugh, although it may not have particular bearing on this discussion.
UFC star and former WWE star Brock Lesnar about falling ill while in Canada:
"He wasn’t excited about his Canadian medical care, comparing it to “a third world country” where he couldn’t get any treatment."
He almost died up there from diverticulitis. He was saved when he made it back to ND in excruciating pain and received quality care at hospital there.
We do not want government run health care!!!
The End
My reasons:
1) Arrogance
2) Socialism
3) Incompetence
I'm right there with ya !!! God he is a discrace
Nice article – points out that both parties seem to want power for power's sake and that independent voters are the ones who can change this trough we call government. Lets hope this screams to our government to listen to each and every one of us – not party leaders, not lobbyists bu the American people.
Obama's main reason is simple. He got this middle-aged (when did that happen) , slightly portly Conservative to attend rallies protesting the Government of his beloved country! I will not be idle again. I have children.
Period!
lol a lamecherry is someone fresh out of basic going straight to iraq?
In addition to questions about Barry BS' qualifications to be POTUS.Someon must explain how this guy was a constitutional law professor? PLEASE. This dipshit has no clue what the US constition is
Anyone that believes that " Progressive democrats" are suddenly going to become small government cheerleaders is delusional. They'll repackage their marxism in an effort to fool the people, or they'll simply resort to regulation by unelected government czars. The one thing they won't do is give up the belief that government knows best how to run your life, and raise your kids.
People were mad at growth of government, ballooning deficits, arrogance of the political elites in failing to listen, and backroom politicking leading to shady deals. The democrats had a chance to change all that. It's what they campaigned so successfully on, but as soon as they took power they quintupled down on all those things I just listed. Yes, we're mad. MAD AS HELL. They only thing that will save us if for the electorate to really pay attention to every race and become political junkies, so that we really know what we're voting for. Anyone with any sense knew right where BO was going to take us. It was there to be seen in his political past, but too many accepted the, admittedly, fine words and nice face.
Picture that, funny.
"Among other things, Scott Brown’s upset victory means that Obama, who flew up to the Bay State to campaign for the deservedly doomed Coakley in the race’s twilight, is zero for three when it comes to high-profile two-minute drills for beloved causes (remember getting Chicago the Olympics and putting together a global carbon deal at the U.N climate conference in Copenhagen?)."
Shame on you, Nick.
How could you forget Bambi's two (previous to the Massachusetts Massacre) most humiliating failures to excite the masses – the governors' races in VA and NJ?
I can't wait to see who President Midas endorses next!
The shine is off the apple.
The gild is off the lilly.
The emperor has no clothes.
This poser is exposed, and flapping around like an old newspaper hung on the garden gate. His fall has started, and will prove to be unprecedented in its scope. His party has put all of their eggs in his basket, and he has stumbled and cracked them all.
Now, watch as they all start to distance themselves from him and his already-failed agenda.
What whores. What self-serving, greedy, power-hungry whores.
Haha Haha, That has my vote.
Thanks for the chuckle !
butt they told us HE DA MAN!!!….SARAH didn't know squat……well you got yo' MAN…..dumbass…
One thing is for certain: You don't see very many of those "Conservatism is dead! Your days are over! Buh-bye! LOLOLOLOL!" troll posts anymore.
you mean the one above his shoulders??
How about:
1) Obama hates America and our Constitution – wants to turn us into the United Socialist States of America.
2) Open borders to terrorist – now they have "rights".
3) Unprecedented spending – no fiscal responsibility.
4) Empty rhetoric from the delusional, clueless, hubris idiot – can't speak without a telepromter.
5) No leadership or managment skills – OB never held a job.
6) Votes "present" – and throws America under the bus.
7) Most dishonest, disingenuous President ever.
The #1 reason to me?
THEY TREAT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE LIKE CRAP!
Call us mobs, teabaggers, terrorists, idiots, rightwingers, birthers
I AM SICK OF IT! YOU WORK FOR US THE PEOPLE! DONT FORGET IT!
"Harder, harder!"
1. You're
2. A
3. Progressive
I am hoping you are wrong on Haiti.
The right sees a natural disaster, the left sees a million new votes.
Damn straight we've see what this country would be like under Dem Facist…Americans pissed off and up in arms .
He's most likely smoking doobies in a van down by the river.
I always thought there was a bright side to the 2008 elections. I was certain that after 4 years of Obama's Presidency, and Democrat control of Congress, the American people would have had their fill of liberals and their Socialist shenanigans.
I was wrong. It took about 6 months.
Obama is a socialist, period! And we can't forget it.
Did anyone hear that Sarah Palin is going to campaign for McCain? What is she thinking of? SHE HAS LOST MY SUPPORT FOREVER if she does it. He is not a Conservative (how about immigration & tarp?). Maybe she doesn't get what happened yesterday with the SCOTT AROUND THE WORLD!!
1. Liberal Fascism
2. Corporate Cronyism
3. Soft Despotism
Has anyone noticed that Hillary has not commented on this huge defeat? Something could be brewing.
Mike,
I respectfully disagree (very respectfully).
I really don't think that in all the years the Progressives have been advancing their agenda they planned for the "What if the population won't go along with all this?" As they plotted and strategorized in their Ivory Towers, not a one of them played the role of Devil's Advocate and raised those questions.
The left had one reaction to the townhalls and tea party marches– to dismiss us (to their own peril as it turns out). They never took us as a serious threat. I think it is just now dawning on them just how big a threat We the People are to their schemes and how destructive it was to them to underestimated us so badly.
There's another reason why the Dems AREN'T in trouble. The GOP is more likely to nominate Donkeys-In-Elephant-Suits than nominate candidates who actually support the GOP platform. Thus we'll have a choice of McCains, Snowes, Grahams, Collinses, and Crists versus true Dems. Why on earth would anyone buy a Donkey-In-An-Elephant-Suit when one can get a true unmitigated Donkey for the same price?
i'd give hussein a dollar to buy a rat for to gnaw it off.
At some point, voters will take what NJ 101.5 talk show host Jim Gearhart refers to as the "GRIP" philosophy of voting — Get Rid of Incumbent Politicians. Basically, keep voting out the incumbents until you get people who actually solve problems.
I would also encourage people to pick a party and vote in primaries because that's where the candidates are chosen. While people like the label "independent", picking a party does not mean that you have to vote for that party during the election. You can still be independent, but also have a say in the candidate that at least one of the main parties enters into the general election.
My personal solution to the problem is to return the Congress to what the founders originally envisioned:
1) Repeal the 17th Amendment and return the election of Senators t the state legislatures to represent the states' interests. This would would help ensure that Congress doesn't keep passing unfunded mandates to the states.
2) Return the House to one Representative for every 30,000 people or so. Yes, I know that would mean 10,000 Representatives but I think we have the technology to make it work from a functional standpoint. What are the benefits? Being accountable to so few voters would always make their safety a tossup and make it risky to ignore the voters. It would make effective gerrymandering harder, create opportunities for other political parties, and make each Representative less important and more reflective of the views of the voters. On the other side, it would make it harder to parties to wrangle the votes that they need and to manage their parties as a block. Yes, there are some potential risks (how much money could the staffs of 10,000 Representatives squander and how many committees could 10,000 Representatives divide themselves into?) but I think it would be a net plus.
Please note that both of these changes from what the Founders originally designed were products of the "Progressives" at the start of the 20th Century (along with the income tax amendment).
I've pretty much decided that no matter who is President during wartime in USA is not going to be popular unless he tells the populace what it wants to hear. The problem is everyone takes USA for granted and they don't even want to have to think about war. The problem is Islam.
Nick, I repect you and appreciate your writings, but you completely missed this one.
We need the federal government to protect us. Period.
I can take care of my family's health care. I'll find a job when I am unemployed. I'll recycle if I need to, buy a car with better milage if I want to, eat better, whatever! Whatever.
We need the government to protect us from invasion. That's it. I can handle the rest. But President Obama has convinced me that he isn't interested in killing terrorists or at least keeping them locked up forever. No, it appears that he wants to let shyster lawyers get them released on technicalities so that they can come back and try to kill us all again!!! THIS is what WILL NOT STAND. THIS is why we must replace the entire Congress with people who will STOP this horrible man from turning us into FRANCE.
As amazing as it was for Brown to win in MA, it will be equally amazing to get dopey durbin out.
Wow, way to see the positive side! And btw, I say tap my phone call day everyday, I have nothing to hide.
God has blessed us all.
Have you ever smoked cigarettes like a smokestack? Have you ever smoked a smokestack?
Yes I am aware of the RINOS like Snow, and your statement which I take as an insult only supports my position more that this Brown win does not change anything.
No ! as obama is getting what he really wants.
1. clean out our banks accounts – Senate Democrats on Wednesday proposed allowing the federal government to borrow an additional $1.9 trillion to pay its bills, a record increase that would permit the national debt to reach $14.3 trillion.
The unpopular legislation is needed to allow the federal government to issue bonds to fund programs and prevent a first-time default on obligations. It promises to be a challenging debate for Democrats who, as the party in power, hold the responsibility for passing the legislation.
2nd while your all making a big deal on this one guy getting elected, there is a bill be voted on right now to make 40 million mexicans into obama voters.
Add that up 3 TRILLION dollars in 1 year, the money is gone and no one is even asking for proof where that money went
STOP THE WORST ILLEGAL ALIEN AMNESTY EVER PROPOSED!
Below you will find a no-cost internet fax that you can send to your U.S. Representative in protest against Rep. Luis Gutierrez's (D-Ill.) intention to amnesty 12-18 million illegal aliens and increase the number of foreign workers while Americans are experiencing record high unemployment. Gutierrez's intent is to push through this mass amnesty and colossal immigration increases in the first few months of 2010. Send this fax and urge your Members of Congress to oppose all amnesty proposals and to slow the importation of foreign workers.
http://www.numbersusa.com/dfax?series=20JAN10hl
January 20, 2010
Dear Rep. (Your Congressman's Name Will Appear Here),
Please do not support Rep. Luis Gutierrezs comprehensive amnesty bill, H.R. 4321!
It seems apparent that Rep. Gutierrez and his pro-amnesty, anti-American worker colleagues are determined to force a mass amnesty and increased immigration on the American people. If he is successful, millions of American workers will be irreparably harmed. During these trying economic times, the last thing American workers need are more foreign workers to compete for a dwindling number of American jobs.
I urge you to oppose this bill as it is offensive and harmful to hardworking Americans. Please do not support this bill and please urge your Congressional colleagues to do the same.
Sincerely,
(Your Name Will Appear Here)
The election was a backlash against:
1. Statism encouraged by both parties
2. The corrupt relic media
3. Refusal of Washington to heed the will of the people
GOPsaver
That is good.
The best top 3 I've seen so far.
Extremely well stated Joe.
FINEMAN: Maybe not in Massachusetts, but maybe in some places, there are codes, there are images, ah, you know, there are pickup trucks, uh, you could say there was a racial aspect to it one way or another.
***
So according to Fineman, pickup truck are purchased, not to haul things but to make a racial statement.
Well then tell me Fineman, what is the racially correct vehicle to purchase to haul manure?
MCGIRV
My bet is that he is into something a lot more mind (or reality) altering
Kat,
Agree wholeheartedly. McCain threw her under the bus. She will not do herself any favor by associating herself with that RINO. This is among the reasons why I have had difficulty giving my full support to Sarah. She's na brilliant woman but naive in many ways.
Run Sarah, run from the McCain camp.
Mark,
I see you are getting some "thums down" for the above comment. I have to agree with what you have said. Sometimes the truth hurts but we do have several donkeys donning elephant suits.
You're only minus one now.
JoeInMichigan
There are already some hints that a few in the (pain)stream media, are having second thoughts about being in his pocket. Some where even pressing Gibbles with some tough questions lately.
RobertB
They are over on the sites about Haiti, complaining we are not doing enough. (keeping their money in their pockets) but complaing non the less.
MagsTheCat
Now you are getting to closer to the truth, don't hold back so much, let it all out.
Soft despotism? If it is soft, it is just because they are hiding / denying the fact that a despot is a despot! Or telling us we are the despots, which makes them, True, Full Fledged Despots!
What is done in the dark or behind closed doors, and rushed through, before we can see what is going on, is because the DESPOTS don't want us to find out what evil they are passing against us!
There are muliptle reasons why the Obama administration is in trouble. Try starting with 30 unaccountable Czars. How about subserving the US Law under UN authority, How about preventingdevelopment of oil and nuclear energy to create new American jobs, How about kissing the butt of every Arab terrorist they can find, how about getting a Nobel Prise that was completely paid for, How about passing laws to undermine the 2nd amendment. The list goes on. This is a revolutionary tactic called overwhelm the system.
I agree. I couldn't believe it when I heard it. If she supports McCain her political career is over. I was also very disturbed that Scott referred to McCain in his speech last night. Hopefully he won't follow McCain's lead on anything.
Nick Gillespie ,
Your glaring omission of the words/concept/phrase, "American" and or "Conservatism" was shocking.
America hasn't had a Conservative POTUS since Ronald Reagan. (it's not debatable, think about it)
That is what America is embracing before your very eyes, Conservatism. America was founded on that and free market Capitalism, how else do you explain American exceptionalism in comparison to all other nations on the planet ?
Most of the Liberals I know live their lives as Conservatives, yet they are Kool-Aid drinking, useful idiots when it comes time to cast their vote.
And yet even they are waking-up to the fact that they've been duped their entire adult lives by the heroes of their generation, the radical leftist, campus radicals of the 1960's.
An overwhelming majority, of Americans I know are conservative, 30% or more just don't realize it, not yet anyways.
How about you Nick?
