Remembering the Victims of Communism
by Nick GillespieTwenty years ago today, the Berlin Wall was breached and Soviet communism, at long last, entered its death spiral.
After claiming approximately 100 million victims in the 20th century, communism was dismissed to the ash heap of history. But those who suffered under its boot heel have largely been confined to the history books when not forgotten altogether.
Author and historian Lee Edwards set out to correct this oversight with the creation of the Victims of Communism memorial and online museum, dedicated to those who perished because of Communist regimes between 1917 and 1989.
Reason.tv spoke to Edwards about the importance of historical memory, plans for a forthcoming bricks-and-mortar museum in Washington, DC, and the paintings of Ukrainian gulag survivor Nikolai Gettman, currently on display at the Heritage Foundation, where Edwards is a “Distinguished Fellow in Conservative Thought.”
Produced by Meredith Bragg and Michael C. Moynihan.
Interview by Moynihan. Shot and edited by Bragg. Approximately 4 minutes.

I'm still waiting for the US celebrations of the fall of communism.
I know we will be waiting a very long time, before any of the so called intellectuals give up the idea that communism can't work.
Good luck with your project.
Everyone ought watch this video:

It is about time someone stood up and called a spade a spade, and told the truth.
Especially at the 2:00, 3:00, 4:00, 5:20 minute marks.
when youre a loser and cant compete in the free market of course communism is attractive. Just look at the marketplace of ideas, am radion, no one want to hear simpering liberalism, but the dumb lib wussies claim their ideas are stronger, wiser, better for the People…my ass
and the Tine Ear award of 2009 goes to- U-2!…
Having a 'free' concert for the 20th anniversary of the tearing down of the Wall at the Brandenburg Gates, they gave out 10,000 free tickets. Very nice, so far.
But then, to protect their artistic proprietaries from theft, they erected- yes- a WALL around the concert to prevent anyone unauthorized from viewing (and taping) the show.
OK, tear down a wall- and celebrate it by erecting one. Nice going, Bono…
Liberals in this country won't wake up to the face that Communism is a BAD thing until they are under it's control for a few generations. They'll keep trying to fine tune it – like it's never been done before – they think it's failed just because THEY did try it.

To kiss Reagan's ass, Obama would need a trampoline.
