His legacy is that of any Marxist. Poverty, death, tyranny and subjugation. How many millions of North Koreans are dead at the hands of Marxism is still to be counted. If history is any indicator, I would bet it is going to be much worse than the killing fields in Cambodia.
HEY PROGGIES!
Take a good hard look at NK. That is the end result of your collectivist and statist thinking. It all becomes a boys club for dictators and despots. Can the NK gov pat itself on the back cause it made everyone equal? Equally miserable? Is this your progressive utopia? Think about it, NK meets all your requirements:
Everyone's fed (barely if at all)
Everyone's clothed (barely)
Everyone is housed (barely)
Everyone has equivalent health care (NONE)
All wealth is evenly distributed (it belongs to the state)
No rich or poor class.
Racial harmony (or you die)
But hey, its all equal. The proggies should be hopping on a plane and rushing to that utopia.
The problem with proggies in this country is they think Marxism just hasn't been done "right" yet…. So, NK would be an example of where it was done "wrong" despite the fact that it always leads to these types of scenarios.
Of course if you happen to be in charge of the utopia, well…..
Actually, I would point out that there are two classes. Those in charge who are well fed, well housed, well clothed, well take care of medically, and well off. The other class are the rest of the people who are distributed equally what is left after those in charge are taken care of…. Now that's Marxism. Why does the book "Animal Farm" come to mind?
And the regime touts that NK is a paradise of equality …
If everyone has nothing …. then everyone is rich.
Which perfectly fits the "fair share" mantra.
Occupy that Progressives !
Yes there is fundamentally no difference between progressivism and prison. Prison meets every requirement of progressivism. Can anyone name one progressive author who discusses liberty in a positive manner.
Try listening to Van Jones talk about liberty. How it must be regulated. That liberty means people will grow at different rates and that will create diversity which will create racism. If everyone is exactly the same then there can be no racism. Liberty must be destroyed.
NK is a grand example of equality of outcomes. Everyone is miserable, poor etc.
And that was part of the point of my post. These so called equality government REALLY are boys clubs for elites. They are never truly equal. There are the elites and the unwashed masses.
And progressives think like this. They truly believe there are two classes of people; them and the unwashed serfs. That is why they believe they are exempt from their own hobbesian beliefs and believe "one of them" can be a virtuous angel that can lead the rest of us unwashed peasants.
Well said cb750. Totally agree.
