Now is the time to speak some Truth to Power.
It would have been far more truthful for the congresswoman to have admitted the fact that all those who wore sheets a long time ago lifted them to wear Democratic Party clothing. Yes, the Ku Klux Klan was established by the Democratic Party. Yes, the Ku Klux Klan murdered thousands of Republicans — African-American and white – in the years following the Civil War. Yes, the Republican Party and a Republican President, Ulysses Grant, destroyed the KKK with their Ku Klux Klan Act of 1871.
How did the Ku Klux Klan re-emerge in the 20th century? For that, the Democratic Party is to blame.
It was a racist Democrat President, Woodrow Wilson, who premiered Birth of a Nation in the White House. That racist movie was based on a racist book written by one of Wilson’s racist friends from college. In 1915, the movie spawned the modern-day Klan, with its burning crosses and white sheets.
Inspired by the movie, some Georgia Democrats revived the Klan. Soon, the Ku Klux Klan again became a powerful force within the Democratic Party. The KKK so dominated the 1924 Democratic Convention that Republicans, speaking truth to power, called it the Klanbake. In the 1930s, a Democrat President, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, appointed a Klansman, Senator Hugo Black (D-AL), to the U.S. Supreme Court. In the 1950s, the Klansmen against whom the civil rights movement struggled were Democrats. The notorious police commissioner Bull Connor, who attacked African-Americans with dogs and clubs and fire hoses, was both a Klansman and the Democratic Party’s National Committeeman for Alabama. Starting in the 1980s, the Democratic Party elevated a recruiter for the Ku Klux Klan, Senator Robert Byrd (D-WV), to third-in-line for the presidency.
Speaking more Truth to Power, the Republican Party has been a resolute enemy of the Ku Klux Klan, terrorist wing of the Democratic Party.

I stated that I hold still hold him accountable for his racist position he held that was leveraged to get him his senate seat. I believe it was a matter of convenience that had him restate is belief.

Voting record on the 1964 Civil Rights Act:
House of Representatives- 61.3% of Democrats voted yes and 80.2% of Republicans voted yes
US Senate- 68.7 of Democrats voted yes and 81.8% of Republicans voted yes.
I think the above numbers certainly put things in the proper perspective that Republicans were much bigger supporters of passing the Civil Rights Act. Obviously, your info is flawed and your claims of racism on the part of Republicans or Andre Breitbart are ridiculous.

The New Black Panthers are the FRINGE Black Communities answer to the KKK. Let me explain… The KKK are sort of like the original racist slime balls of the United States. The New Black Panthers embody the same hostility and Hatred, except that in these modern times, it is difficult to go around killing people like the KKK did decades ago when people would turn a blind eye or law enforcement techniques and investigation was much more difficult.
So having said that, the New Black Panthers are the Modern Black Version of the KKK, I would like to see how progressive people would associate them with the Tea Party. If they show up at a Tea Party in full regalia, that doesn't mean they are part of it. AND YOU ALL KNOW THAT!!! It was Eisenhower ( Republican ) who first proposed a Civil Rights Act in the 1950's. It could not pass because Dems had the majority. JFK voted AGAINST Civil Rights Act 4 times. When it did pass in the 1960's, Dems had majority and only 60% voted for it while 80% of Republicans voted yes.

When Johnson and the Democrats passed the Civil Rights Act in 1964 and the Voting Rights act a year later, was when the vast majority of segregationists left the Democratic party and were welcomed by the Republicans as part of the Nixon "Southern Strategy" to win the South, and the Presidency, in 1968. (Nixon hired Roger AIles, now head of Fox News, to develop a media campaign to convince whites that THEY were the true victims of racism) Claiming that the KKK is a wing of the Democratic party (never true) or that the racist element of America is not overwhlemingly allied with the GOP and Tea Partiers TODAY is just a flat out lie.

What you fail to mention is that the Ku Klux Klan was and remains a right-wing extremist, ultra-conservative group.

Great story, I am glad everything has worked out for you. I do not believe that anyone should be saddled with an 80,000 debt, due to a child being born with a disability, certainly not in a country as rich and powerful as the US, I am French Canadian and Scotch, my mom and dad moved to the US after they were married in Canada, I spent the early part of my life living in the US, but currently reside in Canada, I have many friends and family living in the US, and I have a very close connection with my birth country.
I to have a story about health care in the US, and the devastation that the private system can can cause, the story is very similar to your own except slightly reversed, it has to do with a very successful car salesman earning 6 figures, living the American dream, he and his wife decided it was time to start a family after 3 years of marriage, like you his daughter was born with a severe birth defect, one that would require years of therapy. My friend had a very good insurance policy through his employer and the first year of therapy went very well, what happened next should scare the crap out of everyone! His insurer went to his employer and doubled the companies policy cost, when the employer decided to shop for a new insurer, they discovered that NO one would insure them, suddenly the once pride of the dealership was now getting written up for poor performance, and finally let go.
Here you have a perfectly employable person now unable to get any job that would offer any kind of insurance because of the needs of his daughter, eventually the only way he could care for his daughter, was to go on welfare.
In Canada, the commons pays for for the health of its citizens, no one will ever loses their job due to health care, no ever goes bankrupt due to the lack of health care, and certainly no one ever goes 80,000 in debt due to the lack of health care!!!

The non-racists went from Democrat South to Republican South. It's why most of the racism is in LA, Chicago, and DC, not Atlanta or Alabama.
Facts do not matter if they do not support the agenda of the "progressive liberals". They'll just deny them, re-write history and repeat the lie until it becomes "the truth". Progressivism is evil and it must be eradicated swiftly.
