ACORN and the Ku Klux Klan
by Michael ZakLast week, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, a crime syndicate dedicated to tightening the Democratic Party’s grip on America, dissolved its national structure. Too much of ACORN’s corruption had been exposed to public scrutiny for it to run its vote fraud and extortion rackets effectively. So, ACORN activists will have to soldier on in state-level organizations, such as New York Communities for Change and New England United for Justice in Massachusetts.
ACORN does indeed operate like the Mafia, but it more closely resembles another organization that began as an affiliate of the Democratic Party, the Ku Klux Klan. Aside from intimidating some bank executives, ACORN does not engage in violence, but like the KKK it has vote fraud as a top priority.
There have been two distinct organizations known as the Ku Klux Klan. The modern-day KKK, with whom most people are familiar, was spawned in 1915 by the Hollywood epic Birth of a Nation, premiered at the White House by a Democrat president, Woodrow Wilson. Cross-burning and other rituals were actually inspired by the movie. The Klan came to dominate the Democratic Party so thoroughly that the 1924 Democratic National Convention was known as the “Klanbake.”
It is not so much this Klan 2.0 that ACORN parallels as the original version. Established in 1866, Klan 1.0 was an affiliate of the Democratic Party during the Reconstruction era. Named for “kuklos,” the Greek word for “circle,” the Ku Klux Klan waged war against the Republican Party in the former Confederate states. Goofy titles for its commanders such as Wizard and Cyclops were intended to disguise the fact that the KKK was a paramilitary organization. In some areas, leadership of the Ku Klux Klan and the Democratic Party were indistinguishable.
Democrats used the Klan to suppress their political opposition, with vote fraud and intimidation and violence. Klansmen aimed at African-Americans, nearly all Republicans in those days, and at white Republicans who tried to help them. Once threatened by the KKK, Republicans could in many cases save their lives only by publicly swearing allegiance to the Democratic Party. According to a southern governor, “Few Republicans dare sleep in their houses at night.”
“The suppression of enough GOP votes could ensure a Democratic victory,” wrote one historian. “There’s no question that Klansmen closely watched the polls” – easy to do before the secret ballot was introduced in the United States in the 1880s. All too often, Republican ballots were not even counted.
Like ACORN, the Ku Klux Klan operated with impunity until Republican politicians and journalists sounded an alarm. In 1869, Nathan Bedford Forrest, the KKK’s Grand Dragon, ordered the Klan disbanded. Why? The national organization was getting too much attention, so Klansmen would have to soldier on in state-level organizations, such as the Red Shirts in South Carolina and the Men of Justice in Alabama. Nonetheless, most members of these spin-off groups considered themselves to be Klansmen.
A congressional investigation reported that “the operations of the Klan are executed in the night and are invariably directed against members of the Republican Party.”
In 1871, the Republican-controlled 41st Congress passed the Ku Klux Klan Act, and a Republican president, Ulysses Grant, signed it. Until overturned by the Supreme Court twelve years later, the law effectively banned the KKK. Federal troops crushed Klan uprisings in South Carolina and Louisiana, while hundreds of Klansmen were convicted in federal court. Law enforcement played a role in eliminating the Ku Klux Klan, but primarily the Klan disappeared because after Democrat regimes replaced the Reconstruction state governments there was no need for Democrats to suppress Republican opposition by covert means when government authorities could do so openly.
Back then, Klansmen had to contend with a Republican administration, but now, with a Democrat in the White House, ACORNistas know that the federal government is on their side. With Eric Holder’s Justice Department condoning polling place thuggery [pictured] and other illicit activity against the GOP, there is less incentive for Democrats to suppress Republican opposition by covert means when government authorities are doing so openly.
The Democrat-controlled 111th Congress has made ACORN spin-off groups eligible for billions of taxpayer dollars. Once an insurgency, community organizers are now part of the establishment. To the victors go the spoils.

According to ACORN, they do not receive grants "directly", but do enter into contracts with those who do receive federal grants… whatever and however, they get their hands on the money.
ACORN also receives huge amounts from labor unions- especially SEIU and teacher's unions.
ACORN also receives funds from shaking down businesses like banks.
I would guess they also receive money from Obama's stash, as well.
Other parallels are: both were created to assist those whom need help, the Klan actually assisted people in need (and both like Hamas helped only supporters), Those at the top live well at a level os the "oppressors"(like union leaders and Hamas), all claim they are oppressed unfairly and just reacting do to others who owe them, all claim they are above board and that "illegal" activities are of a misguided few. The parallels are uncanny.

Before we (Conservatives) go down the path of throwing rocks at glass house party names, the GOP and DEMOCRATIC PARTY of the Civil War and Reconstruction Era ARE NOT the PARTIES of today. The GOP went from a radical left wing agenda at its birth to a more conservative and business friendly party in the Guilded Age. Check the religious denominations (Unitarians, Congregationalists, etc) and the funders of terrorism (abolitionist) and you will find many of the same people involved in the abortion rights, feminist, "social justice", and other movements of today. The Democrat Party was conservative throughout and did not start becoming the Liberal and Progressive organization until Woodrow Wilson. Then it escalated downhill from there; Roosevelt, Kennedy, Johnson, Carter, Clinton, and now Obama.

For one, true charities allocate funds to needy people that have been DONATED by individuals or groups.We all know the government gives away peoples money that was obtained under duress and/or coercion, with he threat of fines/jail for noncompliance.
Also, individuals have the choice as to which charity they wish to give to, the government offers no choice.

A little history lesson for you in multiple parts. Think sectionally. The GOP did not absorb that much of the Whigs and this is particularly true in the South. There were many Southrons that were Whigs that became Democrats. Many, many Southrons remained Democrats until Jimmy Carter and the swing of Conservatives to the Republican Party. What many "Republicans" can't get over is that Conservativism is predominant in the South and not being a "Republican." If the magic wand was waved and the Democrats became Conservative again then the RED states would not be RED much longer. Rhinos beware.

The Klan 1.0 was to provide law enforcement and security for ethnic Southrons of both races against the depredations and lack of equal protection under law by the occupation forces. This does not answer to the question. They spring from different roots, and they advocated different end results., i.e. ,they follow different paths. The fact that they both ended up becoming murderous terrible political systems does not change that. And name calling doesn't help the facts of your argument. Capitalism and Communism forms a continuum, and the question is not either or, but rather about the exact point on the continuum that provides the most effective solution to the problems faced. There has been no real laissez-faire ever implemented.
And this is the continuum of the economical systems. Also, there is another continuum, between individuality and community, and the same applies on this continuum. While communists advocate the opposite end, they end up justifying the means with ends. Yet, no individualist end of the continuum has ever been implemented. Draft, collective war efforts, public infrastructure, civic virtues, law enforcement are all part of the communitarian spirit. The true Nozickia society would be one where Texas could secede and the communities of the right could build their private armies, that would be the individual end of the continuum.

However, I did look up the story that "objective site" mentions, and it seems that a private company that was paid to do some kinda of voter registration switched peoples part to republican. impugn. The Federal & State Grant proposal criteria are set up by liberal elite academics
who design the application process so as to make almost impossible for anyone other than
their pet minions, whom they shepherd through to completion & qualification.The grants at
any particular level may be targeted to benefit a particular group, however the so called 'group'
rarely benefits more than a tiny fraction of the total grant amount. The bulk of the funds are

grants are actually a license to steal from the US taxpayer. It is a RACKET. It is outright thie-
very. These programs show no measurable beneficial effect to the communities they target.

As a Southerner, I would like to point out (as several other commenters have done) that the Democratic Party of today and the Democratic Party of the 1920s was very different. There was a big rift between the Southern conservative Democrats and the rest of the Democrats in the nation. Essentially the Southern Democrats were much further to the right and split off from the Democrats to form their own party before being absorbed into what is now the modern day Republican Party (Google Dixiecrats for more information).
So yes, while technically the KKK had was originally associated with the Democrats, they were specifically associated with the white, Southern conservative Democrats, not the Democratic organisation as a whole….those same white, Southern conservative Democrats who were later absorbed into the Republican Party. Anyone who's studied the political history of the US should know that the Democrats and the Republicans essentially flipped roles. Republicans in Lincoln's day were actually closer to the modern day Democrats….and the Democrats of the first half of the 20th century are politically more like the Republicans of today. There's a reason why the South was previously solidly Democrat (nicknamed the "Solid South"), but now is solidly Republican. It's not that the people voting changed drastically…it's because the two parties themselves changed.
