maybe you missed that Alcapone was sent to jail for not paying his taxes

taxes on money from illegal business.

is clear that everyone has to pay taxes even criminals
that's the law

who will help these criminals to pay their taxes

The last I heard is that they can hire an attorney for this

and can deduct this expense from their taxes

"If your sort was the majority" -- My sort IS the majority and you just rambled out a bunch of statistics proving "my sort" is not doing anything for gun control...ANYTHING AT ALL according to YOUR STATISTICS!!! "Gee...I'm a paranoid whiner and I'm posting a bunch of statistics PROVING I'm a paranoid whiner!" Now honestly ask yourself, do paranoid dimwits like that really pose a threat to anybody? No and they never will and all the guns they bought (whining about how they CAN'T buy the guns they just bought) out of paranoia won't change that.

You think that your sort is in the majority? Anti gun politicians control all levels of government, even if they are well aware that voting against guns is generally a career killer. If your sort was the majority, the politicians would vote for gun control instantly.

You figure the fedgov is going to wage war against it's own tax payers using it's magical - and very expensive - weaponry? Generally, only teen agers and college students are stupid enough to think that.

First, such a war would turn the whole nation into something like Watts, California. Does the fedgov get enough tax revenue out of Watts to pay for a Blackhawk?

Second, if expensive toys were enough to control a country, we would not have any boots on the ground in Iraq. As it is, Bush, with about 30K troops was not able to control Iraq, population about 30M. That's 1 soldier per 1000 civilians.

The US population is about 300M. The US military would have to have 300K to fail as well against the US population. And that's assuming the US military would go along with the plan.

Uh, yeah. Sooooo....

Roughly 33% of the homes in the US have firearms in them. That people will admit to. Per capita purchases of firearms are at an all time high - and that's just from dealers, not private sales which cannot be tracked. In fact, the number of people asking me to sell them one of my own firearms, saying they did not have one and did not want to fill out the paperwork so the gov't could find out, has increased drastically in the last year.

Ammo sales are so high that some chamberings are simply not available. That suggests to me that the percentage of people owning firearms is seriously underestimated as, from my own experience (40+ years as a hobbyist and 10yrs in sales), people buy firearms first, then try to find ammo. The ammo sales should have fallen off long ago if the buyers were "gun nuts" with dozens of guns stocking up; these buyers are after ammo for a new chambering they just bought.

I was wondering what Cindy Sheehan had to do with this topic.

Not that irrelevancy ever stopped her before.
