ACORN Plans Massive Layoffs
by Matthew VadumA credible source claims the embattled left-wing advocacy group ACORN is poised to announce massive staff layoffs but an ACORN spokesman denies this is the case.
A credible source close to the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now revealed that the activist network intends to lay off all staff members operating out of its New Orleans headquarters. All information provided by the source to this reporter in the past has turned out to be correct.
However, ACORN spokesman Scott Levenson of the public relations firm The Advance Group in New York City said the source was incorrect.
In an interview Friday afternoon with Levenson said (referring to BigGovernment.com), “You guys just can’t get it right. You’re wrong again.”
When pressed to elaborate, Levenson declined to do so.
Levenson received media attention earlier this year when Fox News host Glenn Beck ejected the combative publicist from his studio during a commercial break. Beck said at the time that Levenson accused him of being a racist.
My source said that one of the employees to be cashiered in the Crescent City is the daughter of disgraced ACORN founder Wade Rathke. Rathke’s wife, Beth Butler, also works for ACORN but it is unclear at this point if she too will be laid off. Rathke’s son also reportedly is employed by ACORN.
ACORN also plans to lay off two-thirds of its Washington, D.C., staffers as soon as Wednesday of next week, according to the source. Layoffs will also extend to ACORN’s affiliate the ACORN Institute.
The source also revealed that all or most of ACORN’s development staff in the group’s New York City office will soon be laid off if they haven’ been laid off already.
ACORN’s already tarnished image took a major hit last month when BigGovernment.com unveiled undercover sting videos in which ACORN staffers across America were shown advising a pair posing as a pimp and a prostitute on the finer points of avoiding prosecution for prostitution, importation of underage illegal aliens to serve as sex workers, obtaining government grants under false pretenses, and tax evasion.
The adverse publicity generated by the videos and the group’s never-ending scandals is slowly but surely drying up ACORN’s funding sources.

ACORN is about to receive $700K from the City of New Orleans. This machine is still going strong in many liberal communities. Look it up on Yahoo; WVUE Fox 8 New Orleans was the only local station to mention it. (They reported it and allowed the ACORN chairperson in the interview to blame the Republicans for their problems). Many, not all, states have cut off funding. Many fed agencies have cut off funding. But the local liberal / democrat party controlled, poverty ridden inner cities are still supporting this power loving community organization machine.
Tisk…tisk, ACORN is having to layoff some of their “community organizers.” What will pimps, hos, drug dealers, perverts, and a plethora of societal parasites do now? We can’t expect them to get an education or develop a work ethic, unless you consider shakedowns, bunko, evasion, or any flim-flam scam a legitimate life or work discipline. For my tax dollars, I say good riddance!
We have a reduction of several million a month from the Government. We are seeing them invest in pay for lawyers. The scare tactics and shakedown revenue stream is dry. Wade has diverted/embezzled millions. Donations are also near dry. A general guess on my part is revenue this last quarter must be down at least 75%. Tax liens will draw out cash if it hasn't already.
Facts are facts…..you can not overlook the corruption in voter registration fraud, extorion and intimidation tactics, holding big businesses hostage, ala Jesse Jackson, and comingling funds in multiple bank accounts enhanced by tax evasion and nonpayment of payroll taxes in several states. This all adds up to criminal activities that must be investigated by IRS and FBI….state governments must withdraw ACORN's non-profit status and sue ACORN for unpaid back state taxes….you do not deserve tax free status when commiting criminal activity.
US taxpayers deserve fairness and equality first, then ACORN can help the poor after repayment of back Federal and State taxes….and then several key players spend some time behind bars for bank fraud, voter fraud and extortion….right????????????

Unemployment on the rise, I remember reading somewhere, that unemployment could hit ten percent as early as next week and now it seems more unemployment checks will have to be issued!!!!!!! Based on those qualifications it sounds like they're qualified to work for Jesse Jackson, who has made millions for himself (and his family) by shaking down major businesses. I have this bad feeling that ACORN folks will cost taxpayers money, employed or unemployed.
I've seen that Levinson character a couple times on TV – and I've never seen a more smarmy type before! He keeps using his interviewer's first name over & over and plays the innocent, but what a crock! I thought by now his ass would have been fired by ACORN, but apparently, he's still on the payroll. He does have one useful skill, however: Namely, he can talk over anyone without pausing for breath – and I mean ANYONE!!
