Code Pink’s Medea Benjamin: Unions, Van Jones Not Behind ‘Occupy Wall Street’
by MRC TVOn October 6, 2011, Medea Benjamin, head of radical anti-war group Code Pink, told MRCTV’s Joe Schoffstall at ‘Occupy DC’ in Freedom Plaza that unions are not behind the formation of the recent demonstrations, despite the SEIU’s Stephen Lerner being one of the people behind the initial ‘Day of Rage’.
On August 19, The Blaze reported the following on Lerner:
“Now, the US Day of Rage protests, staged by a collective of activist groups allegedly in conjunction with Lerner and Rathke, are planning the actual “occupation” of Wall Street September 17, complete with a tent city set smack-dab in the middle of Manhattan’s financial district. Similar protests are purportedly set to take place across the nation — and even world — at the same time. Some Day of Rage organizers are even calling on activists to squat in Manhattan’s financial district for months at a time.”
When asked about the SEIU organizer, Benjamin- whose organization is supporting the demonstrations- said he was not part of it and the likes of Van Jones and Stephen Lerner did not want to even touch it, despite Van Jones promising an ‘October Offensive’ and progressive uprising. Jones held a rally outside of the Capitol building in Washington, D.C. on October 5, 2011.
She also didn’t see a problem with unions being involved in the ‘Occupy’ protests which ask for Wall Street money to be taken out of politics. Barack Obama was the single biggest recipient of Wall Street cash ever, and unions are very,very generous donors to Obama – those same unions now involved in the demonstrations in New York City.

One thing Radicals do according to Saul Alinsky is to use any means to acquire an end. That means they would LIE. Can we truly believe any Radical will tell us the truth??? Do we believe Obama would tell us the truth????
Whether they were involved in the planning or not is not important. They are joining forces now. The AFL-CIO has already pledged support. SEIU, ACORN (under its new name) all with George Soros money and Media Matters are in it as well. All the Radical Leftists feel this is the moment. The Community Organizer-in-Chief has been fueling the fires of class warfare, demonizing the Tea Party, Republicans as obstructionists and racists.
It is a very dangerous time. Obama is looking for a reason to intervene or to point to the violence and blame the Republicans DEMANDING that if his Job Bill & Tax Increases don't pass, there will be more civil unrest. Obama may be President, but he is violating the spirit of the Constitution in his determined bid to retain power.
Obama must go in 2012. The future of this country depends on it.

I love the fact that various dims are praising the loiter, and are trying to ingratiate themselves with the Birkensocialists. It's a win-win for the liberty side. Although already transparently false, the laughable claim that the movement (of the bowel variety) is non-partisan is now even a bigger joke. It's also a win for us, because, conversely, the dims are now stuck to the tar baby.
I've checked in on some of the internet traffic surrounding the other loiters planned around the county. There will be small clots of dysfunctional individuals here and there, and they won't last more than a few hours at most, by and large. The unions recognized the loss of momentum with OWS, so they had to bring in some goons to liven things up. It'll be fun watching the unionistas in their clean purple shirts, rubbing shoulders with the infested clots already there.

It is sad, but I can't help but think that the White House is partly behind these demonstrations. I also think we will see stuff like this till the election next year, and the worse Obama is doing in the polls, the more violent these sorry sacks will get.

Why aren't these "college educated" cry baby protesters asking how much TrumPka and the Union leaders make and how much their college professors earn? Lets compare the vacations of those "fat cats on Wall Street" to the vacations the Obama's have taken.

This was not an SEIU-organized protest. The Blaze article quoted above was a bad case of trying to connect two distant dots.

"As much as possible?" Yes, though the sentiment is redundant against "unnecessary." Problem is, which wars are necessary, and which are discretionary or worse, is always a political decision. You may argue against that decision — I've done so, at times — but it remains the case that it will be politicians, not common people, who'll make it. And once the decision to go to war has been made, a loyal citizen must stand behind the nation's forces to the very end, whether bitter or sweet.
