ObamaCare: A New Era of (Non) Transparency
by Matt KibbeThe American people were promised transparency under Democratic Party rule. President Obama told the American people no less than eight times that legislative deliberations would be aired on C-SPAN, not behind closed doors. The call for reform and transparency became a rallying cry for the Obama campaign.
This process that produced the House and Senate health care legislation has been anything but transparent.
But what can be expected when the conversation starts with back door deals between the White House and both Big Health Insurance and Big Pharmaceuticals? The health insurance industry received from Democrats, in exchange for their complicity and financial support, legislation that forces all Americans to buy their product regardless of want, need or ability to pay. Talk about a massive transfer of wealth from younger, healthier, poorer individuals to an older, less healthy, more wealthy population. PhRMA demanded that Obama keep certain things kept out of the health care bill in exchange for spending $150 million to support Democratic health care reform legislation. Specifically:
- Not allowing the importing of foreign pharmaceuticals
- Not allowing Medicare to negotiate lower prices
- Blocking shortened patents on biologics that would open the market for more affordable generics
The Democrats were instructed to uphold their end of the deal, and PhRMA was to spend money in support of the bill.
Senator Carper made it clear that there was a deal, and that the Democrats were feeling pressure to keep up their end of the bargain. “Whether we like PhRMA or not, we have a deal.” To keep up their end of the deal, Democrats reneged on President Obama’s campaign promises and let their pharmaceutical friends and funders continue to collect their monopoly rents..
In addition to backdoor deals, Democrats in Congress directly violated their own promise to keep a bill posted online for 72 hours before a vote. This promise has not yet been kept. Republicans and even most Democrats have not been allowed to see the final version of the bill until hours before the vote.
The New Republic reported and it has since been confirmed that Senate Democrats are “almost certain” to bypass the traditional ‘conference’ process where representatives from each house get together to discuss publicly, the difference between Senate and House bills and hold informal negotiations to reconcile the House and Senate versions of the bill. Citing “too many procedural hurdles,” the intent is clearly to avoid any delays that Republicans may be able to create by doing something crazy – like following the rules established to make sure the minority party representing almost half the country has some say in preventing the tyranny of the majority.
There is no such thing as transparency in this health care debate. It is defined by back room deals with vested interests, buying votes, manipulating the system, and ignoring the Constitution. Welcome to the era of hope and change.

I am just amazed at the amount of people who refused to listen to Obams's OWN words during the campaign…"judge me by who I surround myself with"…I never heard Rev. Wright say those things…(after 20 years, yeah) He said "I wasn't aware" more times than I could count…but they (the voters) choose to believe that he promised transparency, when he was a proven liar before he got elected! With Soros handing out money in Harlem and welfare recipients now getting free cell phones…I guess they got w\\hat they wanted!!

The cost of my health insurance policy renewal for my business has been raised. Other friends in Arizona had their health insurance policies raised up 80% for their families. On top of that I will probably pay a tax for a so-called cadillac plan. The market is already anticipating the wind fall of Obama Care.

Gotta tell you, folks- this is what any careful observer of the DC follies thought was coming our way. They would like to keep the 60 vote thing going but are more than prepared to do this on a 51 vote reconciliation vote if necessary.
All the players are assembled, and those whose votes they need but will then be thrown out of office are being rewarded with cushy jobs in the new 'green jobs' area or ambassadorships or Soros think tanks.
They hope to pass a sweeping immigration bill with automatic voter regisitration so they can steal the next election, or at least keep it from being a rout. Soon a new war or other such ginned up 'crisis' will be tossed out there to make Barry look more Presidential.
Count on it- all of it…
About half of the American population was not fooled by promises of transparency, a "new tone" or "hope and change". Some just wanted to give a new guy the benefit of the doubt, even though it was really clear to about 40% of us that the guy was lying big-time, and the traditional media outlets just didn't care or chose to not report the inconsistencies.
Now, all of these Congressional members and Senators will have to VOTE AGAIN on whether the reconciled bills will pass their repective houses. THEY ALL KNOW THIS BILL STINKS, THEY KNOW THE SECRECY AND DEALING IS ANTI-DEMOCRATIC, AND THEY KNOW THE PEOPLE HATE THE BILL. Knowing these things, are they going to vote "yea" anyway, just to give Obama something he can claim is "historic"?

This is about a bill that will be signed before President Obama gives the State of the Union speech. Screw everyone else. The President wants his blankie or he is going nuclear.
Obama's greatest strengths:
1. Ability to read a teleprompter
2. Skin color
3. Dishonorable, unethical Democrats in Congress
Nowhere in that list is there any qualification or justification for Obama to be POTUS. I'm not sure which is worse…the Congress, or the Obama administration. America, and the world, are just starting to experience the full effects of Obama's hubris.

I may be off base, but what I think is, "We The People" are still in power if we so choose, or we can roll over and do what they tell us is best for us??? I say deal or no deal, bill or no bill….we stand together and "just say no," there are far more of us than there are of them… Just don't conform to their unjust, and as I believe illegal laws…They without doubt have gone against the will of the people, and I think we should act in like manner and go against their will of enslavement of the people. You know how the earthquake scale is logrithmic? The prior mild shakes on the R scale of 2-3 of the prior administrations pale in the face of the current 7.0 quakes of current days. This comes as no surprise. Obama has been dishonest and secretive since before taking public office. Just look at his senatorial voting record where he abstained or was absent from every vote that didn't wasn't part of his agenda. Since the beginning of his candidacy for president he has fielded teams of lawyers to suppress and seal his personal records from prying eyes. Even his campaign promises have amounted to little more than misdirection. Two words a liberal, especially an extremist liberal like Obama, are Comprehensive and Reform. Any time you hear these words spoken by a liberal it's time to take a step back and check yourself.
Obama not withstanding, our "representatives" in Washington have been using any and every back handed tactic to push this bill though. At the beginning even Obama himself was squawking about the sky falling if HE didn't get health care "reform" ASAP. It's very apparent that there was an agenda and unbeknownst to many on the left his concern had nothing to do with them or the needs of the uninsured. This is supported by the fact that none of the "change" is supposed to go into effect until AFTER the 2012 election. Curious eh? Pretty blatant if you ask me.

One only has to look at what happened when last someone got a wiild hair and thought that a one time amnesty would be all it would take to make the illegals and hispanic loving groups at bay.
Instead, they should have enforced immigration laws and we'd not have 25 million (or whatever the REAL number is) illegals sucking money out of the US and back into Mexico.

You have to hand it to them: they can actually talk about honesty and transparency with a straight face. Either they are all too stupid to be there, or they think the American people are too stupid to catch on. And the media is helping them instead of exposing them for the vermin that they are.
The fact that politicians lie is axiomatic. What makes it repugnant is the hypocrasy. Just as libs justifiably hang conservatives who do not practice the moral values they espouse, so too should these libs (liars) be hoisted upon their own petards when they promise transparency and they fail to deliver. In perfect Alinski mode, make the libs live up to their own standards and punish them when they do not. Hypocrasy on either side can not be forgiven. F them all.
For the 52% of you that voted for this clown, how about looking at what a person has done rather than what a person says he will do. This is really 3rd grade stuff here.

A New approach to Defeating Obamacare
What I would like to share with you is what some of us think about how to handle the Health Care situation that the majority of the country has clearly stated they do not want.
We are going to start by protesting Representative Spratt's office in Rock Hill, SC and have started a nationwide pledge to support every political opponent he faces in the future if he votes for final passage of this bill. He is the first one we are going after. The House passed their bill by just two votes. While we are not in his district his vote will effect the rest of our lives and we feel that we owe it to him to effect the rest of his if he votes for what his local constituents, and a large majority of the country don't want.
