High Noon in New York 23rd: A Ref Would Have Called It By Now. Time to Dump Dede
by Mike FlynnOnce upon a time, ‘Republican’ Assemblywoman Dede Scozzafava was the front-runner in the special election to replace actual Republican Rep. John McHugh. That was then, the video below is now:
In politics, a good rule-of-thumb is that the candidate calling for more debates is the candidate that is losing. It usually means they are just about out of money and need staged, public events to even hope to get their message out. For a big government liberal like Dede, it figures she would resort to this. It seems noone is buying what she’s selling, so she’s trying to orchestrate her own bailout. That is fairly typical.
What isn’t typical, however, is her campaign’s apparent–and total–lack of competence. Who stages a press conference and fails to control its visuals? City council races in Nebraska have more discipline.
Dede will not be going to Congress. That institution is already over its quota of stimulus and bailout-supporting, ObamaCare-cheerleading, tax-hiking, ACORN-allied politicians. The next Congressman will either be Democrat Bill Owens or Conservative Doug Hoffman.
Dede is now just a spoiler. There is no need to reiterate the problems with Dede’s platform. Those have been well-documented by Big Government contributor Dana Loesch. Dede says she is committed to voting for Rep. John Boehner as Speaker. Hoffman will make the same vote. Owens will vote for Rep. Nancy Pelosi. If Dede wants Boehner to be Speaker, she should drop out of the race.
Dede, nothing personal, but your candidacy is simply a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. There is simply too much at stake in our nation to indulge your personal ambition. Please end this. Now.

lol, I appreciate this lady coming out and speaking on Doug Hoffmans behalf. What's a DEDE?
I wish Dede would back out along with the NRCC and Newtured Gingrich. This is the RINO Trifecta the conservatives don't need. This better be a wake up call for the Republican party(RINO party).
I didn't know Jaba the Hut had a pink blazer…?
[...] {Update} The Directors @ Redstate.com also call for Dede’s withdrawal. So does RightWingNews.com. Andrew Breitbart’s BigGovernment.com says it’s time to “Dump Dede”. [...]
What a DEDE……………..Supporter of HusseinCare and the Working Family Party. I can see it now, she'll jump the political fence once the opportunity arrives.
This is a comedy gold. Fava should just conceed to Doug. This is a futile game for her.
Really, cool it with the petty insults. It makes you look petty and by association, others here.
DEDE is an acronym for Diabolical Everpresent Democrat Eggplant. She is a Democrat. Check her Wikipedia page. She is anti-traditional marriage, and anti-life.
She has also raised taxes 190 times, and has many leftists endorsing her.

…and people wonder why most women automatically dismiss conservatives and conservative ideas without bothering to listen. Couldn't possibly be the cheap misogynist slurs so many conservative men direct at any woman who doesn't look like Carrie Prejean, could it?
Excellent Hoffman commercial!
Wow! Are you sure she's not Michael Moore in drag? Saw this video yesterday and I'm thinking she's made a great commercial for Hoffman and Owens. Owens supporters were supposedly across the street and didn't get on camera. I think if I was in Dede's position, I would have quickly changed the venue for this event. On top of her liberal agenda, she's a poor strategist. Too bad she and her hubby are going to be missing out on the big gravy train of governing. Dede Scozzafava, mmmm mmmm mmmm! The best part was seeing her slammed at Dailykos by all their supporters who don't realize that the "powers that be" at DKos were some big, ol' Dede supporters! Priceless. Buh bye, Dede!

And if I were to say Carrie Prejean is a twit?
These are observations, not reality…This is after all an 'IntenseDebate' board is it not???
Just because you don't agree with my observation, does not make you any more right or wrong then me…
Sunshine and lollipops for everyone!
I'm not sure that saying an indvidual female looks like Jabba The Hut is misogynist. Misogyny is hatred of women qua women, not a passing remark that a socialist women (hiding in plain sight) visually reminds one of a fictional character in a movie.
I wouldn't bother arguing with them if I were you. They'll be calling you a racist next.

When the RNC goes to support a canidate (you know give them money!) do they ever think to refer to their platform? Dede couldn't put a check next to one of the RNC party platform statements. Rep. elites (like Newt) still don't get it. Make your checks payable to Huffman for congress! I did!
Good point, and besides, maybe I upset them because they have pink blazers??? =)

In the postage-paid envelope that came with the request for more of my (hard-earned, over-taxed) money, I slipped a note that read: No More RINOs (you know who they are) No More Liberals (Scozzafava) Until then, NO MORE MONEY.
It went out in yesterday's mail.
If you really want to change the Republican Party, you have to do it from the inside by becoming a voting member of it. Scozzafava never would have gotten the nod from the Party to be the nominee if more conservatives were in the Party in NY-23 as precinct committeemen. It's a numbers game, pure and simple. Want a more conservative Republican Party, conservatives? Then, conservatives, join it as precinct committeemen and HIJACK it.
Go here to learn more: http://www.theprecinctproject.wordpress.com
PCs get to vote for the leadership of the Party and help determine, by majority vote, which candidates get the endorsement of the Party in the Republican primary races. Only takes a few hours of time a month. With half the PC slots in the Party nationwide vacant, and with a fifty-fifty split right now between conservatives and moderate RINOs in the PC ranks, the Party is there for the taking by conservatives/libertarians if we'd all just get off our duffs and get to a meeting of the local GOP and volunteer to become a PC. Want to save your country? Then invigorate the "main enemy" of the Debtocrat/Socialist Party with your presence.
(By the way, half of the Party leadership, the moderates, DON'T WANT YOU TO BECOME A PC, BECAUSE THEY AND THEIR RINO CRONIES WILL GET VOTED OUT OF THE LEADERSHIP — THEY DON'T WANT YOU TO KNOW ABOUT THIS BASIC CIVICS.)
Becoming a PC should be every conservative's first priority. Blogging and carrying a sign at a Tea Party or attending a town hall is great, but unless we have better leadership and candidates in the main adversary party, the Debtocrats will get returned to power. It's all about the Constitution and all about winning the elections. The best way to restore the Constitution and to have better candidates who respect the Constitution is to join the Republican Party at the grass roots and make it happen. It's a numbers game. The more conservatives we have in the Party in the precinct committeemen ranks, the more likely it will be that we'll get better elected leadership within the Party and in the general elections. Michael Steele was elected not by registered Republicans but by the precinct committeemen in all fifty states.
Also, you can go to http://www.redstate.com to learn more, too. Just type in the words precinct and committeeman into the search pane and hit the search button and links to a lot of good info will be presented too you.
Thank you.
Cold Warrior
I am only one. But I am a conservative Republican precinct committeeman and desperately trying to get other Constitution-loving conservatives and libertarians to do the same.

Dede and sounds like a protoge of U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow, Her election would be the same kind of disaster that Stabenow is, and has been for the Failed Communist Utopia, formerly known as the State of Michigan.
I am afraid we are going to see this played out all accross the country in 2010. Are you watching Michael Steele? Do you care about our country? Put the conservative canidates out front! They are the only ones that can win!
I have NEVER donated to a political candidate that did not have a direct impact on me………until now. I gladly sent Hoffman the few bucks I could spare. Shame on Newt, and the NY GOP. Disgrace.
A Pierre Reinfret (sic) redux. This lady will crash to third place if she doesn't watch it. If a candidate comes out and speaks with none of her supporters around, does that mean she doesn't exist? HAHAHAHA

I don't dispute the idea that the comment was a petty adolescent taunt. (Really Einy, you can do better than THAT right? If you're going to insult someone do it with creativity and flair.
) However, it was hardly misogynist. Furthermore I take issue with the statement "most women automatically dismiss conservatives". In fact, the most conservative individuals I know are actually… all women.
it has nothing to do with her being a woman.. just her size. And certainly more funny and not as bad as The Fascist obama making fun of the Handicapped… Special Olympics…
Jump? the fence? She might try to climb over it with some fellow Liberals boosting her back over.

DEDE SCOZZAFAVA MUST GO!
scozzafava- that sound like one of the italian words my grandmother used to say that my mother told my I shouldn't repeat. It's about time we start using these gorilla tactics
I just got my "Congressional 2nd District Census" begging letter from the RNC. I told them politely that I sent their donation directly to Marco Rubio (FL). I did put a stamp on the "paid" mailer envelop. 43 Cent sarcasm.
Step aside, Dede. Listen and learn.

Ya got that one right!
And don't forget that Michael Steele sent Dede a whopping $85,000 ! He's got to go; her too !
Jaba the Hut in a pink blazer…now that makes me laugh. What is Newt thinking? I was under the impression that he was a conservative.
Welcome to the club!
Many of us have done/are doing the same thing; though I did not put a stamp on the envelope.
She IS in thrid place right now.
Sarah gave Doug her blessing! Go Doug Go!!!
Where have you been? Newtie has been an utter disaster d=since putting on the Clinton kneepads, a decade ago.
He has, more recently, travelled with Hillary ( a year ago or so ) promoting GOVERNMENT HEALTH CARE and last summer, with Nancy Pelosi, promoting her version of the GLOBAL WARMING hoax.
Newt is NOT a conservative and once he actually had power, caved to Clinton more times than not, made a fool out of himself by complaining where he was seated on Air Force ! ( the back of the bus, under Clinton ), and a whole host of other really stupid moves.
And I say this as a once fan of Newtie's; however, the truth is the truth and I don't countenance lying about it.
Bye Bye Dee Dee
We need to donate people….this will send a big message to both Obama and the beltway boys at the GOP!

We need to trust the voters of NY 23rd to get this one right – not the party leaders who put her on the ballot.
Next step: Get principled independent donors to help restore accountability to individual voters elsewhere, too. This isn't about imposing national policies on local Reps. It's not about who will vote for Boehner someday. We need to restore respect for voters as more important than party and PAC leaders and their money. To do that, we need as free individuals to put money behind candidates with better principles. http://www.TeaMoney.ning.com
Wow; I'm neither a registered Republican nor Democrat, and my political viewpoints tend to fall squarely in the middle on most issues. I say "wow" because this is my first time visiting such a website, and I have to say that I'm really impressed!
I think it's wonderful that Laura bases her dislike of Scozzafava principally on her looks. It's a healthy sign of civic participation when citizenesses like Laura refer to elected representatives as drag queens; it sets a wonderful example for her children, if she has any. As Barney Frank would say, with my own modification, it's a tribute to the Constitution that people such as Laura (who live in my own state, God help us) are free to spout the nonsensical drivel that they do. God bless our Congress!
I feel that I am compelled to respond to this post.
I think it's the mark of an educated electorate when citizens such as TheRightSide group "liberals" as being "stupid" and "fat", his own words, of course. Or, not
Oh, by the way, if we want to talk about fat, RightSide you should check out the CDC website and see that most of the "fat" people in the country live in rural areas compared to urban ones. Republicans mostly are the rural dwellers in most states, I believe; AND the states with the highest levels of obesity in the country are ALL red states, such as Mississippi, Alabama, Texas, etc. And to top it off, we need only look at the likes of Newt Gingrich, Rush Limbaugh, Glen Beck, Haley Barbour and others to see that if RightSide would like to call people names, he statistically would have a much better chance of hitting members of his own party.
Thanks for your time, bud
