Simple Logic Defies Tea Party ‘Racist’ Label
by Lawrence MeyersThe assertion that the Tea Party is “racist” is not only unsupported by facts, it is also an assertion that is impossible to determine. The simple application of reason — a shocking request to make for those too ideologically rigid to see straight — proves this out.
Even assuming the most liberal definition of the word “racist”, we must ask how an entire set of people can be proclaimed to be racist. For starters, is there some percentage threshold that any group must cross to be branded “racist”? The question itself is absurd, so we rightly dismiss it. Likewise, if even a single African-American is supportive of or, God Forbid, a member of the Tea Party, does that negate the racism assertion? Or does it brand that unfortunate soul an “Uncle Tom”? Again, the questions are absurd.
Tea Party opponents, and the MSM, have applied the Fallacy of Inductive Generalization to the movement. That is:
1. Sample S, which is too small, is taken from population T.
2. Conclusion R is drawn about Population T based on A.
As we know, in any group, there will be some population of extremists. Tea Party opponents simply cherry-pick a population of extremists from Tea Party gatherings, and fallaciously generalize the entire movement.
So rather than use the cherry-picked, unrepresentative, non-scientific samplings of Tea Party opponents, let’s look at proper sampling. These are commonly called “polls”, which are no substitute for common sense, but do provide statistical support for it.
Gallup says that “Tea Partiers are quite representative of the public at large”. Are we to conclude that the public at large is racist?
Six percent of those polled by Gallup are African-American and support the Tea Party. Are we to conclude these African-Americans are racist?
Rasmussen Reports tells us “63% of Mainstream Americans say their views are closer to the Tea Party”. Are we to conclude that two-thirds of Mainstream Americans are racist?
The Winston Group reports that 41% of Tea Partiers are either Independent or Democrats. Are we to conclude that all of these people are racist?
Finally, we have plain and simple reality. I wasn’t aware that anyone has the ability to look into another’s heart and proclaim them as being anything — other than threatened by a movement with legitimate concerns about the direction of our country.

The left are being routed on this issue. 63% percent of mainstream Americans identifying with tea partiers proves it. This trumped up charge of racism may be the only act of transparency (not intended, of course) of this inept and corrupt admin.

Their basic problem is that they are claiming that something that is patently FALSE is true, despite the complete lack of video or other evidence to support their false "RAAAAAAAAAAAAAACISM!" claim.
As in, Andrew has $100K for anyone who can provide evidence, and so far, no one has claimed it.
What these false charges will do is end whatever credibility the NAA(L)CP had left, which, frankly, was very little anyway.
Frankly, this whole thing really isn't meant for our consumption anyway. What the National Socialist Democrat Party is trying to do is whip the black vote into a frenzy in an attempt to save congressional seats in the midterms, and nothing stirs up their welfare plantation quicker than charges of "RAAAAAAAAAACISM!".
Plus, you need to consider the "Clarence Thomas factor". There are plenty of prominent blacks in the TEA Party movement. This is a danger to "Race Baiting Inc" which must try to stomp out independent thought amongst blacks as quickly as possible. If blacks were to side with the smaller government movement in significant numbers it would mean the end of the line for the whole race baiting industry, and would mean the end of the (taxpayer funded) gravy train for career race hustlers like Sharpton, and Jackson.
It wasn't Tea Partiers that were celebrating the life of the recently deceased KKK democrat senator from West Virginia.

Now, what is simply amazing is that the NAACP is asking for "the TEA Party" to remove the "racist elements". For anyone who knows of the TEA Party, they know that this "movement" is simply that… a movement. There is no "traditional" leadership group in charge. It is just a name that has a certain believe with members who share in this belief. There is nothing that can be done like they ask. This is part of the left's problem. It is difficult to accuse and blame something that they cannot touch and feel. They are barking at air.

This article could have summed up the whole thing by calling the logical fallacy a "Hasty Generalization".
This is when a conclusion is drawn from too small a sample, and it is the close cousin to another logical fallacy called the "Sweeping Generalization" which is when a known generalization is applied to a specific instance. Both fall under the broad logical fallacy category called "Fallacies of Presumption".
There is a point to all this behavior as actsnow said above. All this rascist bullcrap. They are trying to incite another racial psychological war to make sure that the "black" base votes during the midterms. Thats why moochelle was at the NAACP convention. Since their ACORN stunt was exposed and the NBP's are in the spotlight, they have to use any means necessary and if that means another Oakland riot in the country, vilfying the Tea Parties, so be it.

'Racism' as a false, leftist construct, is just not something we accept as reality. It was developed by the Communist (ok, the Progressives) Party to 'divide and conquer'.

The only way an onerous, godless philosophy such as humanism can be advanced is through expoitation of race, and class. Before Woodrow Wilson and the Progressive movement the country was integrated, we had blacks in Congress, and in the military. Wilson re-segregated the military, both because he thought blacks inferior and- it gave the movement the ticking time bomb of, yes, 'racism' to be exploited when needed.
Obama is, by definition, a classic race, and class hustler. It's what a 'community activist' is all about- repairing the injustices THEY inflicted- and continue to prosecute. So, do not accept the false premise, speak up for individual rights and accomplishments-

My problem is that this is the ONLY story that has been run in the last 3 days. There are other happenings in the government world, like FINREG. It's not like Breitbart has a forum the size of the NAACP, which is broadcasting on all of the networks. BG's sole focus on this issue would seem to give it credence and puts the Tea Party on the defensive, I believe that a better strategy would be to address the individual issues and accusations, but then go about business as usual. This way it is more of a deny, refute, and move on strategy, instead of a deny, deny, deny strategy.

Unfortunately logic does not work with progressives. The part that fascinates me is that the NAACP completely understands that you should not judge an entire group of people based on the actions/beliefs of a few (aside from the fact that the racism charges are groundless). I cannot judge all blacks because of the bad apples.
The mainstream media is the single biggest factor in stereotyping blacks. Blacks that work hard, raise their children properly and are living normal everyday lives must be furious. President Obama's financial regulation bill goes before Congress today and it's expected to pass, thanks to three Republicans breaking ranks. Not shockingly, 'Republicans' Scott Brown, Olympia Snowe, and Susan Collins have aligned themselves with Democrats and with this disastrous bill that leaves unelected bureaucrats with untold amounts of power.
I believe the general strategy isn't simply to parry the attack, but to counterattack on the same issue. Breitbart is trying to force apologies, admissions of guilt, and the like by dwelling on issues on which the left has been discovered lying and wants to bury.
I understand your point that there are other stories, but it doesn't seem like a lot of people are covering this, so Breitbart's websites are narrowing in on it. I sure don't expect the MSM to do so — at least not real coverage anyway.
