As SEIU Terrorizes Bank Employee’s Son, HuffPo and MediaMatters Omit Deadbeat Union’s $90 Million Debt
by Liberty ChickAlinsky Rule #12: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.
Nina Easton just became the left’s latest target. Why? So that SEIU can hide from the truth about its financial liabilities to Bank of America (more on that after the jump).
Easton, a Washington Editor for Fortune Magazine, wrote a column early morning Wednesday, addressing the outrageous protest organized by SEIU and National People’s Action, where 700 protesters stormed the front lawn of the private residence of Greg Baer, deputy general counsel for corporate law at Bank of America.
As I wrote in my post yesterday, “SEIU Storms Private Residence, Terrorizes Teenage Son of Bank of America Exec,” Easton is actually a neighbor of Baer. When she was startled by the loud, screaming, bullhorn-rattling protesters, she called Baer’s teenage son to check on him. Home alone, the frightened teenager had locked himself in the bathroom. After witnessing the entire incident as it unfolded on her neighbor’s private property, Easton criticized the SEIU and left wing groups in her article for crossing the line this time.
Alinsky’s Rule # 12 states,
“Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions. (This is cruel, but very effective. Direct, personalized criticism and ridicule works.)”
In almost coordinated lock-step fashion, the 12th Rule was promptly and firmly applied. As Larry O’Connor posted on Big Journalism yesterday, a series of several posts soon followed the publication of Nina Easton’s article:
- Late Wednesday evening, John Vandeventer of SEIU posted “Nina Easton & the Bank Lobbyists: Too Close for Comfort” in response. Conveniently, Vandeventer distracts readers by recounting the sob stories of foreclosure “victims”, then quickly focuses the attention on Easton and polarizes his target. He proceeds to play a guilt by association game to tie her husband to Bank of America through Business Roundtable. You can read my post from yesterday about that here.
- Then came Arthur Delaney’s piece from the Huffington Post, with the headline: “Nina Easton, Fortune Columnist, Compares Bank Protesters To ‘God Hates Fags’ Group.” He ends his piece with a link to an open letter to Easton penned by Al Marshall, SEIU Local 1021 shop steward in Oakland, CA. Marshall begins his letter by mentioning that he flew out to DC for the protest from CA because “Wall Street caused” his wife to lose her job, and then him and his wife to lose their house. (I’d like to know how he could possibly afford those plane tickets, in that case). The whole tenor of the post is undoubtedly less jovial than his prior day’s, when he gleefully bragged about the whole event.
- And then, the much anticipated and expected Media Matters post: “Attacking SEIU, Nina Easton fails to disclose husband’s ties to Bank of America“.
Of all of the responses, not a single one of the posts actually addresses any of the issues. None will account for the fact that the protesters were on the private property of a private citizen, though Vandeventer tries to rationalize their actions as acceptable because the police supposedly followed the crowd to the location. Then, he paints the picture that Baer is lurking in the crowd trying to blend in; rather, the man was trying to get to his front door without creating a scene so that he could get to his frightened son inside as quickly as possible.
Perhaps the most important piece of information of all that was left out of the posts from SEIU, the Huffington Post, and Media Matters is the fact that Bank of America is one of SEIU’s major creditors.
In 2007, the SEIU owed Bank of America nearly $95 Million.
By the end of 2008, SEIU owed more than $156 Million in total outstanding liabilities. Only six years prior, its liabilities were $8 Million. And we’re not even addressing their debts to other banks, like $15 Million with Amalgamated Bank.
Perhaps all that campaigning for President Obama has emboldened the union to think that they deserve a free pass on their debts to Bank of America, and encouraged them to employ their usual thuggish shakedown tactics. Typical Chicago political machine style. At the very least, Huffington Post and Media Matters should disclose that their beloved union is part of that machine. And it’s looking more and more every day like there could be validation for suspecting that there’s a bigger reason why SEIU paid Media Matters some nice cash last year.
More importantly though, who could possibly defend this sort of behavior? Let’s review the facts here and remember there’s a teenager home alone inside that house, frightened by all of the screaming crowds on his front lawn. As his father arrives home from his other son’s Little League game, with his younger son in tow, they arrive to this mob scene. The father is forced to park his car around the corner and leave his younger son behind, while he tries to wade through the crowd to reach his teenage son inside the house. He asks the protesters to make way for him to get to his frightened son, but the mob is more concerned about making a scene for their own selfish manufactured rage than they are for the safety of a child.
I lost my job in late 2007 at the start of the crisis, then became ill for over a year and unable to work. I did the responsible thing when I was facing foreclosure: first I called my bank every week. They gave me 8 months of reprieve and worked with me on a plan. And when it seemed I’d be in it for the long haul, I got rid of every luxury – cable, cell phone, car, I sold my furniture. And I even got a roommate. In the end, I made it out of the red. I had to make the effort and sacrifice, but I did it. I know I am not the only one with such a story.
So why do we only see SEIU’s side of the drama playing out in front of the cameras today? We see this intrusion on personal private property all too often nowadays. Have all our left wing “advocates” lost their souls entirely for a cause that is nothing more than a facade? When and where will this madness stop?

That boy was in danger, the protesters were trespassing, they are lucky they were not shot.
Who can blame them, they just want bread from the rich capitalists to feed to the poor and the unfortunate.
http://www.emayzine.com/lectures/russianrev.html
"The Revolution of 1917 grew out of a mounting wave of food and wage strikes in Petrograd (now Saint Petersburg) during February. On February 23 meetings and demonstrations in which the principal slogan was a demand for bread were held, supported by the 90,000 men and women on strike in the national capital. Encounters with the police were numerous, but the workers refused to disperse and continued to occupy the streets. Tension steadily increased but no casualties resulted.
Agitation grew the following day, February 24, until it involved about half the workers of Petrograd. The slogans now were bolder: "Down with the war!" "Down with autocracy!" On February 25 the strike became general throughout the capital. During these two days violent encounters took place with the police, with casualties on both sides. The dreaded cossack troops, however, which had been called out to support the police, showed little enthusiasm for breaking up the demonstrations (see Cossacks). The workers captured several police stations, seized the small arms inside, and then burned the stations to the ground; the police went into hiding. The first elections to the Petrograd Soviet (council) of Workers' Deputies were held in several factories, on the model of the Soviet of 1905, which had been formed during a revolution at the end of the Russo-Japanese War (1904-1905).
Confrontation with Troops
On February 26 the troops of the Petrograd garrison were called out to suppress the uprising. When the workers and soldiers came face to face in the streets, the workers tried to fraternize with the soldiers. In some of these encounters the troops were hostile and fired on order, killing a number of workers. The workers fled, but did not abandon the streets. As soon as the firing ceased they returned to confront the soldiers. In subsequent encounters the troops wavered when ordered to fire, allowing the workers to pass through their lines. Nicholas dissolved the Duma; the deputies accepted the decree but reassembled privately and elected a provisional committee of the State Duma to act in its place. On February 27 the revolution triumphed. Regiment after regiment of the Petrograd garrison went over to the people. Within 24 hours the entire garrison, approximately 150,000 men, joined the revolution, and the united workers and soldiers took control of the capital. The uprising claimed about 1500 victims."
Where were the police? Could it be that they are members of some public employee union? Won't cross "picket" lines?
This is exactly one of the reasons that public employees should NOT under any circumstance be unionized!
SEIU has crossed the line from just being thugs to becoming full fledged TERRORISTS! Law enforcement had better start treating them as such or the next time they show up someone might feel the need to protect themselves!
SEIU and the progturds are, in general, cowards. What they did was wrong under any circumstances. I have no problem with them picketing a business, but they are inviting trouble. One day they will ride up to the wrong house and things will turn very violent. I know of one house they do not wish to visit. The cowardly thugs will be boarding the buses much quicker than they exited. And, by the way, Alinsky was the biggest coward of all because every tactic he proposed involved a group of liars and thugs. He was never man enough to do something on his own and his disciples are equally cowards- the Obamas and Clintons of the world included.
BofA… GROW A SET (again), and BITE THEM BACK!!!
1. CALL THEIR MARKER (they are seriously in DEFAULT)… it's a legal HAMMER that YOU have wielded freely enough in the past!
2. ACTIVATE YOUR ARMY OF ATTORNEYS… hell, they're eating up capital, sitting on their arse collecting RETAINERS!
3. Use your financial/political head for something other than a B-wipe for this regime… FORM YOUR OWN COALITION of banks, businesses, attorneys AND CITIZENS (remember that "little" GIANT called PUBLIC OPINION?), and ROOT THESE GUTLESS TAPEWORMS OUT!
WE THE PEOPLE are STILL the most POWERFUL force in this Republic, and we ARE WATCHING. And we WILL remember…
…BOTH, the COWARDS and the AMERICANS in this struggle for the Life of our nation.
My name is CM Sackett, and I approved this message.
SEIU doesn't have a friggin' leg to stand on. The bold facts are that only 8% of people defaulted on their loans. Think about that. 92% of homeowners were responsible and paid their bills. There are stories out there of these "poor" people who bought houses waaaaaay above their means. They would've lost them anyway because they shouldn't have been approved for the loan in the first place. SEIU lies. And they will continue to lie. If I was on the verge of losing my house, the last thing I would be doing is protesting on some guy's lawn. I would be out looking for a second job to supplement the income. If I were Al Marshall's wife, I would've been pissed that being is such dire straits, he chooses to buy plane tickets to go off to a protest?????!!!! There would be some serious domestic disturbance in the Marshall house. If you're not bringing in income to pay the bills, you'd better not be jetting off to play with your friends. More than likely that whole story is a figment of his overactive imagination.
"Alinsky Rule #12: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it."
This is why they are having such frustration with the TEA Party movement. There really is no one specific they can go "get". This is why the TEA Party movement needs to continue as a way of thinking, versus a group with major leaders. Let them continue to swing at the air and be frustrated.
Liberty Chick always does her homework. Facts are fatal to progressives and their brownshirt union thugs. But what this incident says to me is that it is a good idea to stock up on some tear gas canisters and a gas mask and maybe some rubber bullets for the twelve gauge.
I think that the banker had every right to fire into the crowd for terrorizing his children!! I hope that if this ever happens to anyone else they have tear gas to throw into the crowd. The fact that the police REFUSE to protect the citizens of the USA from terror like this, means that we are now on our own!!!
like a previous post, police are also on the till, they are public sector unionized, just like most of the seiu variety. you would be better off with a good old boy like sheriff joe, but you won't find one of those in the northeast us.
"When and where will this madness stop?"
I'll tell you when and where, the day these pukes mistake my front lawn for their soap box. They may claim their first amendment rights, but I'll exercise my second amendment rights! I encourage these bank executives to force protestors off of their property or soon they'll be inside the house.
So why not do this to the leadership of SEIU, Huffington Post and the others who think this is OK? Put the cheese puffs down, drop the remotes, and get off your a#$ America and put and end to this destruction of our way of life by these losers!
You Liberty Chick and Glenn Beck are the only ones that have even mentioned this. This is totally outrageous. And sadly no one seems to care.
there are still a few rural bastions of good old boys and tight nit communities in the north east….. very, very few.. but they do exist.
but, in general, you're right.
I think your second amendment rights will trump their first lol.
…amen.
I don't think the cops on the street are political but, the command and control seem to be (Chief, DA etc.). One more reason to push for conservatives in all offices.
So, SEIU borrowed millions from the bank (to the detriment if it's pensioners I'm sure) in order to fund the Obama campaign with money they didn't actually have. Then they try to terrorize their way out of the debt having used fraudulent money to elect a fraud
Besides SEIU (being a communist group) doesn't recognize the concept of private property.
Who is down dinging this post?
I suppose I am assuming there is more understanding of history out the than there actually is. The first sentence is sarcasm, my bad for not making this clearer.
I am trying to make the point that there are many parallels with what is happening today with the Russian Revolution of 1917. Recall this is what brought us the Soviet Union, Stalin, 20 million dead, the cold war, etc.
Go watch Dr. Zhivago.
Good old fashion lead 00 buck will work better.
Why weren't the police there? The SEIU members were trespassing on PRIVATE property.
I am sorry that this man and his family were targeted, but we have to stand strong and not cave to these union thugs.
Right. Just like Stalin did to his own people in 1932-3. 25,000 died every day! 7 million total! You come here and dare to sing the praises of the Soviet system? You are either a revisionist or a poorly informed dupe. Get yourself an education before it's too late.
A mob is a mob is a mob.
They have no idea how easy it is for an enraged crowd to turn ugly and begin committing felonies, up to and including murder. If this BS keeps up, that's where it's going to lead.
SEIU isn't full of constitutional scholars or people who can even read the Constitution in the original English, for that matter. They seem oblivious to the obligations that come with exercising their rights under our Constitution. Perhaps they should do a little reading first.
They do not have the right to do what they are doing.
It is time for law enforcement to begin making arrests and prosecuting the perps for these crimes.
I guess they know they won't be shot in that city
Unless B of A's, or any bank's, employees held a gun to the heads of borrowers, borrowers who accepted mortgage loans from B of A, or any bank, took the proceeds of the loans to buy houses, signing notes and mortgages pledging their houses as collateral for the loans, agreeing to repay the loans in accordance with the terms in the notes, and agreeing, if they defaulted on the loans, the bank could initiate legal proceedings to take their houses and sell them to satisfy their debt obligations to the bank. As borrowers defaulted on the mortgage loans, banks did what the borrowers agreed they could do; the banks began filing foreclosure proceedings, taking the houses and selling them to satisfy the borrowers' debt obligations on which the borrowers had defaulted. The banks are doing exactly what the borrowers agreed they could do, and now we're being told by the media, politicians and the borrowers who defaulted on their debt obligations that what the banks are doing is wrong. At best that assertion is a clear case of warped logic, and, at worst a blatant attempt by these borrowers to justify their total abandonment of acceptance of responsibility for their actions, greatly assisted by the politicians and media. But then why should that worst in people be a surprise. After more than 4 decades of fostering the cradle to grave nanny state, entitlement mentality in their constituents, the politicians, assisted by the media, have apparently succeeded in creating a near majority mass of voters who believe they need accept no responsibility for their actions and may rightly look to hard working, productive, taxpaying Americans who do accept responsibility for their actions to bail them out and provide for their every need.
I'd be callin' in that loan BigTime. The banks who are owed money should demand repayment in full instead of letting them negotiate a deal. These unsavory SEIU thugs and the lemmings who are herded in the direction of civil unrest deserve everything that's coming down the pike economically. My fondest hope is that everyone of them lose their ill-gotten wealth and end up on the Agitator in Chief's welfare rolls, (maybe the First Nutritionist can feed these mopes out of her Organic Garden). And anyways, why aren't all these miscreants in Greece helping out their other bloated, over-paid leeches.
My home is protected by Mr. Smith & Mr. Wesson…..just so you know, Andy!
Exactly right.
Cops are unionized and very political
Sorry Harry. I didn't understand your sarcasm. My bad.
Understood – I should have made the point clearer from the beginning.
The fact that the police would not respond ether though fear or politics is the most disturbing thing. It would appear that calling the police on the SEIU got the same response as calling them in Germany on "crystal night".
one of these days, one of these 'protests' is gonna get ugly. these scumbags will go after the wrong person and people will get maimed and killed.
and sure as i'm sitting here, the Left Machine, et. al. will blame:
the victim;
the gun;
the Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy/'Teabaggers';
and the GREED of capitalism.
they WILL twist themselves in knots to excuse the bad behavior of the aggressors.
i guarantee it!
I contend the cops should have got to the bus drivers (threats to never drive again for profit) and instructed them to deliver all the protestors to the local High School Football field. Called all neighboring communities for assistance and processed every one of the criminals. Heavy fines to individuals for participation and damages to the organizing bodies. When the cost of business goes up, you re-evaluate the business model. EVEN ILLEGAL ENTERPRISES WANT TO OPERATED CHEAPLY.
Yeah, we saw how well that "revolution" worked out. It resulted in over 70 years of Soviet brutality. We have our own group of neo-Bolsheviks in the White House. Welcome to the USSA.
Let see, SEIU owes BoA a lot of money and everybody knows it cannot pay it. SEIU is trying to unionize the tellers of BoA, but we aren't suppose to know that. Baer, the house that was being protested, was a member of the Clinton administration and a loyal (D). BoA has been a strong supporter of the POTUS and SEIU, so much so, that they have been willingly let themselves look bad publicly, for the greater good.
I call BS on this protest. There is no reason for them to protest. And another thing, has anybody seen what it costs to bus in around 500 people from out of town, make t-shirts and print signs? It ain't cheap.
-Cost for leasing the buses, drivers, insurance and fuel is about $40-$60 per hour per bus (with a 2hr minimum) X about 17 buses (max seating is roughly 30 per bus)
-Printed t-shirts are around $10 per shirt X 500
-Printed poster about $2 plus X 500
Even if everybody were from local Locals, and they weren't, it would have cost over $10,000 for just the logistics, money that should have been spent on paying off their loan not terrorizing a neighborhood.
I hope that this bank exec learns a lesson and moves out of California and to a state where you can open fire on an angry mob in your front yard. I wish they would protest me. I've been wanting to try out my new AK-47!
The cops were called but said that they didn't want to show up and "incite a riot"
This in fact is one of their goals, count on it.
We also need to work to prevent it.
The SEIU garbage is from stupid people. The union leaders owe the union pension 60 million separate from the bank debt. The union workers have seen their pension money spent on campaigns instead of investing it for retirement. They need to picket their own offices.
That bank executive ought to fille a lawsuit against SEIU as an entity, and against every member of it's leadership, from their president on down. Union officials organized this, which makes it union sanctioned, and makes the leadership responsible. A winning suit for damages and the accompnying award for mental anguish, might put them further enough into the hole to give the bank the excuse to call their loans due, and bankrupt them. No money to pay the gangs of thugs, and it will get much harder to put gangs of thugs together to terrorize other people in their homes.
If it were me, I would push for the court to ban these union jackboots from gathering on private property on pain of heavy fines, and jail time for the leadership.
Think you are possibly overestimating the virtue of SEIU ("they have no idea"). People getting hurt usually benefits the communist cause. Kent State?
That's because on top of this- Obama is lying about American laws, Democrats are trying to conjure up a "face" for the tea party in Rand Paul's missteps with Olbermann's little son Rachel Maddow, AZ is threatening to power down LA, and other states are boycotting AZ, The Mexican president is given a standing ovation from our treasonous congress, the intelligence community is apologizing to Communists in China for our "grave mistreatment of human rights", and they just passed Financial Reform which left out Fannie/Freddie, which guarantees Obama to be a billionaire when he's voted out in 2012, and also pumped up the Hedge Funders like Soros- the Left's string puller… on top of that Obama is mad that someone is honest and forces the guy to resign. This whole goal is to keep us, the REAL people scattered. I'm this close ** to utter despair.
Listen up union tools!! The SEIU is in miserable financial straits because massive amounts of money were spent to elect the current communist leaning administration and massive amounts of money are now being spent to prop up the regime. Even as it is failing mightily, the regime will have no qualms about helping your union brothers in leadership burn through every single penny in the treasury.
Your pensions will be devastated and you will likely not get a sympathetic ear from those of us that work real jobs that pay market level salaries.
I don't like BoA at all. I think they are pure money hungry and that's it. But that's their business. If you don't like them, then don't do business with them. These SEIU thugs are the perfect example of a society that thinks it is entitled to everything.
This sounds terrible, protesters should not be on private property, but I wonder why just a week ago you were objecting to Bank of America keeping Tea Party protesters off its property, calling it "Big Brother" tactics merely by keeping them off the Bank's property: http://biggovernment.com/libertychick/2010/05/11/...
Try to be consistent.
So why didn't the father tell the kid to call the police?
If I were in that house alone, that's what I would have done. Let the COPS make a hole for this man to walk through to get to his child. Protest or not, get on the sidewalk, ya jerks.
Why did the Tea Party Protestors get RIOT & SWAT SQUAD when SEIU gets NOTHING?
How can this be possible?
How can we continue to let this happen?
Someone MUST bew held accountable NOW.
Glenn Beck said Baer did call the police once inside the house but the police refused to respond for fear of inciting the crowd to violence. But my cynicism says the cops would have responded had SEIU and an evil banker not been involved. So tell me again why we pay taxes?
Liberty chick is a regular right wing mountain man. What to you bet that when she lost her job and got sick she took advantage of a whole gamut of federal sponsored programs. I'm sure she benefited directly from unemployment insurance. And after losing her work related health care there is COBRA and other health care alternatives. She gives herself all the credit for saving her home, but without the bank bailout she would have lost that too.
Now that she is feeling better and has a new job she heads out to bg.com and warns us of the left wing advocates who have "lost their souls". Here's an idea chick… the next time you see a liberal progressive, thank them for not letting the banks turn you out on the street during your most desperate moments.
Not equivalent. Specious arguement. Is that all you got?
riot squads show up at a Tea Party gathering in Mass., but we can't have regular cops at a mob scene like this?
What was particularly telling was that the police would not control situation and left the homeowner on his own to try to get his kid out of the house. Those cops are useless cowards and tools of ACORN/SEIU. Gee, do you suppose they belong to the SEIU? If it had been my family threatened and under siege in our own house, there would have been bleeding and dead bodies on my front lawn for EMS and the coroner to pick up. And I bet the cops would not hesitate to arrest me, would they?
12 gauge is WAY louder than a bullhorn
Remember this: 120,000+ men and women died for America while fighting Communists such as those we have in control of our country today. The only difference is that these Communists speak English and possess American citizenship.
Let their deaths not have been in vain.
see, this is the difference between the Big sites and the Liberal B.S. sites. 99% of the people on those sites would have NO idea what "Kristallnacht" even was, much less the similarities to this event and their significance.
soldier on, fellow True Believers.
JUST THINK YOU MUST AS K OBAMA, AND THE REST OF HIS COMMIES DO NOT CHASE THE BANKS IF YOU DO YOU MUST DO IT AFTER DARK.
I would ahve wnet in MY house and got MY gun to protect MY property … I would ahve then fired say three to four rounds intot he air from my shotgun …
Where were the police ?? What happen to private property ???
Defending a child and a private citizen's property rights does not advocate my endorsement of Bank of America. When they deserve a railing, I give it to them. There are plenty more railings where that link came from. When the manufactured outrage has nothing to do with said target and its purpose, I call that as I see it too. Consistency in this case would be partisan and ignoring the facts.
Voice of Reason- There actually is a difference between Public and Private Property. I am confident that Bank of America does not own the sidewalks and roadways in front of their building, I am also confident Mr. Baer does in fact, have property rights to his own home and land. Please do not even try to rationalize these tactics of intimidation, hurting children is never o.k., never.
Exactly.
It's funny that when you hit "reply", the word "Loading" pops up. How apropos!
And where were the police???? Where afraid they'll get out of hand. What the hell do you call 14 buses of people trespassing and frightening a young boy. Call every off duty cop in. Get the state police in. And start arresting you had 14 jail cells standing by. And you wonder why the public doesn't respect you. COWARDS
This time the alinsky tactic is called out for what it is. SIEU pay your damm loans and stop this thuggery NOW.
When I lived in Chicago SEIU was organizing long term care facilities. A neighbor was on the board of directors of such a facility. One day I arrived home to maybe two dozen demonstators in the lobby of our building. The doorman gave me this helpless look and I knew instantly they were SEIU. The doorman's union is an SEIU affiliate. They would know his last name and address from union records. He'd stopped them from passing through the security door to the inner lobby/elevators but I could see he was afraid to do more than that. .
The mob had been buttonholing residents with flyers about how our evil neighbor was exploiting low income workers. The sad thing is that Ed never even took a fee for the directorship. His disabled son was a resident at the facility and when the home discoved his background in management they had asked him onto the board as a representative of the families of patients.
I announced I was on the board of the building and ordered them out or I'd call the cops. They complied, probably because they were under orders not to cause a riot a block away from Water Tower Place.
Better idea, next time she sees a liberal progressive, she should punch his lights out for causing her to lose her job.
The SEIU is the most villainous, most dangerous organization in America today.
Too bad they weren't in Colorado. Our make my day law and an AK-47 and this crowd would have dispersed pretty quickly. If we have someone intrude and we believe we or our family are in danger we have the right to defend our homes. I am not advocating gunning them down, but just the threat should make them go back to the holes they crawled out of.
You would pull a single gun on 700 people? LOL.
Actually that's just when you push it.
Beauty!
Let me get this straight…Bank of America borrows money from tax-payers, gives it to SEIU, who helps get Obama and team elected, SIEU refuses to pay back the loan, and sends a mob to BofA executive? No news coverage or police, and BofA is not calling in the loan? Frankly, it all sounds a little too convenient. Who should I have sympathy for anymore? Perhaps, the family was never in any real danger to begin with? Who knows?
Hilarious that right wing america is protecting this corporate shill who is implicit in trying to coverup one of the worst financial disasters on record. You people really are stupid.
Here's the deal. After calling the police and being told they would not take action to remove someone from my private property I would have warned the crowd to disperse. Had they not left I would have opened fire. I'm a peace loving person and would rather not EVER hurt someone but this is still America. Trespassing is a crime and if you fear for your life, a mob of 700 angry people qualifies, then you still have the right to defend yourself.
When I was a kid in rural PA these people wouldn't have gotten the warning or courtesy call to the local police. They would have been shot.
And who's going to answer for the police here? We're not going to respond to defend a homeowner because we don't want to incite a riot? If the police won't do their then citizens will step up. I don't believe that's anything any of us wants.
Never never never pull out a gun unless you are commited to using it. That being said, never be afraid to use it if you feel your life is in danger. As I always tell the Mrs. aim for the largest part of the body and fire until its empty. The noise alone will scatter the remaining rodents and motivate your cowering neighbors to call the police who should have already been on their way. If you live in a "gun-free" zone, move now before this gets completely out of control. The so called government will only be there to prosecute you and confiscate your arms. The only saving grace for this country is for brave journalists to continue to out the communists at the seiu and for our political process to throw the pretender in chief and his gangsters back to Chicago
Most cops belong to a union. The most rabid advocate of class warfare I ever met was a suburban cop active in his union. He purely hated us "rich republicans". I can see him winking at the SIEU demonstrators to fix the loathsome banker.
The irony is this cop lived in a 5000 square foot house with a spa and swimming pool thanks in part to his marriage my friend, a lawyer at a large firm and in part to his cash only construction business. I'd remind him that if the revolution he so wanted ever came about, it was his splashy digs the mob would loot, not my modest 800 sq ft apartment.
I like your business plan! It made me feel less helpless. Keep blogging. I'm learning a lot!
- After all we are 300 Millions Americans. How can we be Trampled by Unions, and Obama-Bully ? We have the numbers yet we are being plowed under.
No, you azzhole lib! I said I WOULD THROW tear gas into the crowd of cowards!! Go back into the basement now….
Really, you grammar school dropout!? Did you not know that SEIU OWES this bank millions of dollars and REFUSES to pay it back!!???
no a shot gun, tear gas, water hose, police if they show up, buckshot, rocksalt – you get the idea. No Trespassing you Union Robbers. No more "Dues" for you. Your days are numbered.
I agree that the most alarming information to come out of this is that the police would not come to the scene. That is most disconcerting. I hope the Baer complains to the police chief of his community and goes to the press with this. I know he musts be a lib because he worked for Clinton, but trespassing is wrong and in this case criminal. He should follow through. But, he may not if he has something to hide at his B of A job.
The police WERE called. They refused to respond to avoid inciting a riot! Look, you'll get 700 paid protesters in a bad economy. The real crime here is the lack of police response. If the police won't step in to secure a homeowner's safety from an angry mob then the rule of law is over. People are choosing which laws they will ignore. This is VERY dangerous. The 700 people choose to ignore the law against trespassing. Perhaps I'll choose to ignore a different law? What law will you choose to ignore?
Scary stuff people.
Wow,………that was one of you best examples of,…….airheadedness there VOR
Police and fire fighter unions are corrupting influences. Supporting the police and the fire fighters doesn't require we ignore the truth that police and fire fighter unionization is not good for America. Among other problems, the union demands are putting an unsustainable financial burden on cities and states.
1 year and 4 months into this administration,…………………..
and still no sign of this country coming together as Obama promised.
At this pace of the proliferation of divisiveness,………..2012 can not come too soon.

don't step on my property. I might feel threatened and you wouldnt like the results seiu.
someone needs to print a flyer with the bank loan information on it, in very simple language, and pass the flyer out at all SEIU rallies. These people obviously do not understand that their money has been used for politics instead of used for union benefits. In these organizations there are fence sitters and maybe they just need a little education.
We are the tar baby!!
Yeah, I would. These people are COWARDS!!! You only have to shoot one and they rest will trample each other trying to get back to the busses. Punk ass bitches!!
I wonder if the B of A exec will change his political idealogy? He is a registered democrat and was actually in the Clinton administration. These union thugs have no scrupples.
It doesn't matter what the banker did. Even if he has broken laws then there are the courts for recourse. YOU DON'T TERRORIZE CHILDREN TO GET YOUR REVENGE!!! That is for slimy, cowards. In my satete I would have been perfectly within the law to shoot as many as I could as long as they were on my property and I didn't shoot them in the back!!
and that is how Communism is built, and that is what the Union Socialists and Obama and the Progressives in D.C. like Pelousi and Reid are building here- A communist country at best, and a Global Citizenry at worst. They will erase our boarders, everyone will be equal (except the Board of Directors) and the Obamas will be King and Queen.
Those responsible are in CONGRESS!
Winston Churchill said – Never never never give up. and we won't.
Where to begin? This Incident is appalling in several ways. The police cowardly lack of response is beyond belief. Two terrorized children by a leftest mob is indefensible. I feel terrible for those kids. The father needs to fight back legally, and arm himself and teach his kids safe gun use. The father needs to make TV appearances, this needs to be better known. I would have DEMANDED the police to arrive soon as I fear for my life and will defend my kids. Then one shot in the air, next one goes to the legs of the first one to step forward.
Obama sanctions all of this. It helps him remain King.
Agreed! However I'm worried that Obama's takeover of the Financial world, under the guise of fixing it, by imbedding his Govt Agencies with his Thugs right on to Wall St. would preclude carrying out your fantastic plan.
Hope that using the courts as you suggest will happen, I'm just so against this Financial Govt Watchdog of Obama's and it doesn't even include the Socialist Fannie and Freddie. I would love to see your law suit come to fruition!
You all must remember, the police are there to write a report AFTER the incident takes place.
You are your first line of defense. If you don't protect yourself, no one will. Buy at least one gun, and learn to use them.
The police responded according to Nina Easton's article, BUT only three of them, and they told her that they didn't want to incite the crowd by confronting them. Seriously.
