Union Thuggery and Theatrics: When is Enough Enough Already?
by Liberty ChickI don’t know about you, but my benefits are shrinking and my wages have been reduced for 2010. And I certainly won’t be seeing any major increase in my salary this year. My employer is struggling in this economy. I know it, I see the sales and operating numbers. Amazingly, no one in our company has complained once about the state of their salaries and benefits. And after a recent round of layoffs, we’re all working two and three people’s jobs, too. But we get it, we’re all a team, and together we have to do what we can to pitch in and help cut costs during a rough patch in time. That’s just how business works.
Every single friend, family member, and neighbor I know is in the exact same position.
That’s why so many of us are appalled at the behavior of some of the union bosses these days. Even some of the most ardent union defenders I know (the few people who typically argue with me over union policy) have had enough with all the headlines like this:
And they have also had enough of behavior like this:
When tens of thousands of citizens descended upon Washington DC time and time again over the course of the last year, concerned over their current health benefits being taken from them to subsidize someone else’s health benefits, they were called vitriolic names and demonized in the media.
But when SEIU and other unions demand their health benefits remain untouched, it’s not only justified, it’s glorified.
When a multitude of patriots, concerned about the fiscal state of the country, pleaded for their voices to be heard as they begged the government to make responsible budget cuts and to stop all the new spending, they were vilified and characterized as ‘racist’.
But when unions go on strike to protest the fact that their employer, a hospital that serves a low-income neighborhood primarily insured through Medicaid and Medicare, is reducing their raises from 14.5% to 4% and cutting back a tuition benefit, they garner the support of every news anchor within earshot. (Meanwhile, the rest of us are willing to accept a 0% raise).
When Tea Party protesters repeatedly held rallies to express their concerns about the government’s takeover and bailouts of entire industries like the banks, they were labeled as ‘dangerous extremists’.
But when SEIU protesters chased down bank executives with knives and cleavers at the American Bankers Association last October, they were applauded and hailed as heroes by onlookers, the media, and even members of Congress. (Meanwhile, the executives were actually from small and medium sized community banks, not the big dogs).
At what point do the other 89% of Americans who are NOT union members stop sitting quietly like scared little sheep and start acting like the majority?

Because the people of a society who became self absorbent, HONESTY in America has now become extinct! HONESTY will never ever come back to America until the people atone and realize that Barack Obama, IS NOT ONLY THE ILLEGAL PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES! He is also THE SWINDLER IN CHIEF! Only then will HONESTY return TO AMERICA! ITS UP TO YOU IF YOU CARE!
"I don’t know about you, but my benefits are shrinking and my wages have been reduced for 2010. And I certainly won’t be seeing any major increase in my salary this year. My employer is struggling in this economy."
It's pretty much across the board. Trillion dollar wars that got us NOTHING have consequences. Imagine if we'd have spent that on jobs that actually produce something.
A a trillion dollar handout to the wealthiest American's didn't help much either.
Those look like ILLEGAL WEAPONS to me. Signs attached to real knives and cleavers? Why weren't these MORONS arrested and charged with possession of a dangerous weapon? SCUM! UNION SCUM! Isn't great to know that the union scum andy stern is the most frequent visitor at the White House? Hmm, what did the annointed one once say? "Judge me by the company I keep" . You mean like, andy stern, van jones, jeremiah wright, bill ayers, john wallace, and the rest of the RADICAL scum-bags the annointed one has known all too well!
Great article! You did a GREAT job comparing sociaI agendas getting praise (the minority and mostly union), against conservative movement getting bashed (the majority of hard working citizens).
I'm active! I'm off my behind, and I'm trying to make a difference!
'if we'd have spent that on jobs that actually produce something.' NOT another 'hand out' from the gov, those are pointless and a waste of $$. To make a difference and cut out fraud… cut taxes! Cut taxes and let people/business keep their money! This will increase spending and 'produce something'
Unions in general are obsolete.
Gov't Unions defeat the entire purpose.
Not only that, but Unions themselves are a Communist agenda item.
Be gone, progressive troll!
To any other civil servants out there who, like myself, are forced to pay union dues:
Demand your political contributions be returned to you! My union is affiliated with AFSCME, and the requirement is that the request is mailed to both the local and national units via registered or certified mail and postmarked between April 1st and April 15th. They will then send you a form where you have to specify your objections, I'm sure those who frequent these sites will, like me, have a list about a mile long. You then have to send that form back, certified or registered within 30 days of receipt.
I only got about $100 back between the two, but it's better than allowing them to use it to promote some communist agenda. Needless to say, they make the rules for getting your money back as onerous as possible, but if enough people start doing it, it may just send a message to the union leadership. Just about everybody in my office does this every year, and this year I think we have all but our office's union steward on board. Get the word out, but remember, your time to do this is limited!
The SEIU is a labor group for unskilled labor. To their advantage, janitors clerks and flunkie jobs can't be outsourced to India. To their disadvantage, they are an easy union to bust. At some point, even a few municipal governments will bust unions.
I wonder if that clip of the SEIU lady hitting the guy will get any play in MSM……..
During World War Two employment was statistically 100%. The present war is obviously too small.
Bush defense budget for fiscal Year 2009. $515.4 billion http://www.defense.gov/releases/release.aspx?rele...
Obama defense budget for fiscal 2010 $663.8 billion http://www.defense.gov/releases/release.aspx?rele...
Write the president and complain.
Class warfare has begun in earnest. Union and other socialist stooges are always the first to engage in violence and personal destruction. They want all the people they put into poverty and do not pay income tax to retaliate on the actual working people.
This is the only way a minority can govern the majority against there will.
If violence is what they want then we should give them what they want.
I wish you the best of luck. I hope you can make a difference. I also hope you can get a non-union job in the future…
Giving welfare to people making $50k/yr and not taxing 47% of Americans doesn't help either. BTW, we spend almost 3x the defense budget on entitlements, plus the wars only add a 3-4% premium on the total defense budget. So I ask you anon, wouldn't it just make more sense to cut entitlements and lower taxes to encourage hiring and corporate growth?
Unions had their purpose back at the turn of the 20th century when work conditions were deplorable. Today, they have overstepped their bounds and usefullness. We need a union buster in the oval office, not a union sympathiser!
So the Union takes your money from every paycheck all year long, then gives you $100 back because you begged, pleaded, and jumped through the hoops.
Makes sense, if your a Communist.
Just out of curiosity, I know you are forced to pay dues or look for a new job, but what exactly does the Union do to benefit you?
"Said retard is now under your custody."
Just another obama digital brownshirt.
Imagine if we drilled for our own oil? Imagine if we actually BUILD nuclear power plants? Imagine if we didn't nationalize do many industries? Maybe then we wouldn't have to spend any tax money on jobs and we could let the free market work.
And, I don't care what it cost, someone had to take out Saddam Hussein. No one else, anywhere in the world, was going to stop that madman. We were the only ones with the brass to do it, and I'd do it again.
The thing about the Commies is that they don't actually lie to their people before taking over, they just imply something different in the meaning of what it is they said. "Fundamental transformation of the United States" meant something very different to those that heard it than to he who said it …
Trillion dollar handouts to the lazy, slothful, and "entitled" hasn't done anything to make the current situation did it?
Sure, the Gov't forcing banks into giving hundreds of thousands of dollars to deadbeats with no money and would never pay it back had nothing to do with it.
Besides, the Economy and the Nation were on FIRE until the Democrats took over the House in January 2007.
How have things gone since the Liberals took control of the Nation's purse strings?
Support the Fair Tax.
I would have beat those bitches with my briefcase and claimed self-defense.
You get close to me with a weapon, and you better be prepared to use it for it's intended purpose, cuz I'm going Planet of the Apes on your ass.
@Anon- do you get all of your news directly from the Daily Show, or are there other sources as well? Are you an SEIU member?
Unions will complain about manufacturing job losses, and ignore their high wage/pension impact on U.S. prices in foreign markets. They'll complain about a poor economy, and ignore their impact upon productivity. They'll champion their pursuit to protect the worker, and then treat the private individual like he's an evil monster that needs to be unionized or stopped. They'll use a tragedy, like the recent West Virginia mine explosion, to further their political agenda. Unions are like the government in so many ways these days : They are inefficient, they cost more than they should to produce anything, yet they demand more money than everyone else, and try to bully those opposed to their viewpoints. Like most liberal ideas, the birth of the union was based upon some decent ideas, and about a 100 years later, they're nothing but a drain on everyone else.
I bet he did not pick up the camera because he pimp slapped that skank, oh well, heres hoping.
Nearly half of American households escape federal taxes!!
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Nearly-half-of-US-h...
Not bloody much
I support the Fair Tax, but only if coupled with a constitutional amendment repealing the income tax amendment, we do not need 2 forms of federal taxation! If the amendment isn't repealed, I would go for a flat tax with no exemptions or credits. Just a 1 page form, how much did you earn? Multiply by .125 and mail a check!
"Trillion dollar wars that got us NOTHING have consequences. Imagine if we'd have spent that on jobs that actually produce something."
Yeah, just imagine. But of course there is that Trillion Dollar "stimulus" program and the "jobs" bill. We don't have to "imagine" what that got us. Millions of jobs lost, 10% unemployment, and the promise of endless new debt and higher taxes.
$800 billion "stimulus" TARP, tax increases, unempolyment at 9.7% (we were told that it would be 8% if we did not enact the porkulus bill) Jobless claims up again. Muslims still hate us, gas prices rising, Guantanamo still open (and thriving I might add).
how's that hopey changey thing workin out?
As a concerned citizen, and patriot I say we use their tactics against themselves that they have been using on City halls across this country for years. Take a sign, and put on that sign "No justice, No peace". Lets also chant this out load and proud, or "No Truth No Peace". This should be a very interesting twist.
God Bless America
How much do the Union Bosses make in salary and benefits? How many relatives of the Bosses work for Union?
Unions should be required by law to post all this on the Internet for their members to see.
Yeah, and nana pelosi will make a tearful speech about the hateful actions of union thugs.
Well, maybe in some alternate universe.
I enjoy what I do, am good at it, and help to protect the public through enforcing (usually) low-impact, cost effective regulations (Believe me, when the Board starts proposing codes that stinks of liberal feel-goodism, the vast majority of us on the enforcement end vociferously dissent). We have contemplated leaving our union which is domintated by the tax leech entities (Dept. of Social Services employs over half, my Dept, about 10%), but that would require a union vote. Do you think the leeches will vote to let us out of the union and forego our dues? Me neither…
These are the people who protect Democratic Congressmen at the town halls.
I am the son (and current union member) of a UAW "Brother". I still remember my father telling me how much he hated the union. "The only thing they do is protect the guy who was found asleep in the warehouse for the 5th time, and line their own pockets." I delivered sandwiches to them when they were picketing in the cold of winter with nothing but a burning drum to keep them warm. (The union execs were inside eating a nice warm lunch the union paid for.) The only reason he was a member was because he wanted a job and if he wasn't a member he would not have been working for GM. I grew up in the Pittsburgh area during the 70's and had family who were steel workers in the mills. When the companies said "We need to make cuts or were gonna go out of business." The union said "They always say that, they're just trying to intimidate you." Guess what, my uncles lost their jobs when the mills closed and not one of the unions offered any help. Their "Brothers" were quickly forgotten.
I am in a union now. Not because I need the protection from the company but because I need protection from the union. The company won't assault me for not joining their side but God help me if I don't join the union. Intimidation, tires slashed, no help with work on an even "professional" level and in some circumstances physical violence.
There was a time when the Large companies had no rules governing them and unions were the last resort of a hard working people whose own government turned a blind eye (I.E. coal miners wars and truckers) Now there are laws governing companies and unions have become what they were formed to fight against, a body who bullies, intimidates and threatens. The one union cried that they were not recieving the standard 14.5% raise but instead a 4% raise. I have never (even in the good years) recieved more than a 3.5% raise.
I have the utmost respect for the hard working men and women who formed these unions to combat the abuses they had to endure. I have utter disdain for the whining crybaby's who currently occupy these unions. You are not even the shadow of your founders, I know and you know it. You are the ones who have to live with it though.
Can someone please explain what the difference between the mafia and a union is? Both make you pay 'em so nothin' bad happens to yer knees, if you know what I mean.
I don't any real signs of economic recovery out there. The policies already enacted by this administration, not to mention those are still being proposed, are polar opposites of what is needed to recover from a deflationary recession. Unions acting badly is hardly news, it's a socialist movement now and it has always been a socialist movement. Take it from a former federal union Business Agent, it's about redistribution of wealth, nothing more.
There is an end to this. It's called complete fiscal collapse and at the rate that this congress and this administration spends money, we don't have, it can't far away. Enjoy the $4 gas this summer, we know who to thank for it.
April 15th is coming! Find a Tea Party to attend! Keep the pressure on!
[...] by Liberty Chick at Big Government [...]
Hold on, that was maybe too harsh. Actually, they do work out well if you're a non-productive worker. Like the office union steward, who is given the least amount of work and still complains that she has too much to do. Everyone else I work with (bosses included) is an honest, hard-working conservative who resents having to pick up her slack. But the union makes it impossible to get rid of her. So yeah, I guess the union helps out if you're a member of the non-productive class…
Both are now Organized Crime. The difference is one is santioned by the government. That appears to be the only difference anymore.
I posted this yesterday, it’s more pertinent to this discussion: JFK’s Executive Order #10988 in 1962 that allows public sector employees the right to “collective bargaining and subsequently the right to organize,” …what could be wrong with that? If we are going to get serious about getting budgets in line with reality this must be addressed.
When we flip congress in 11/10, just like the great Reagan with PATCO in ‘81, fire’em all! The same holds true for the private sector and SEIU parasites.
All Unions are based on Communist Principles. Workers of the World Unite is a Communist Slogan! A set wage is nothing more than this…"A Quart of Wheat for a Day's Wage".
"At what point do the other 89% of Americans who are NOT union members stop sitting quietly like scared little sheep and start acting like the majority?"
Well, in order to do that, and not be painted as some obscure, racist political movement, we would need to rise up all at once.
Kind of like the tea party.
…So we ALREADY HAVE started acting like the majority.
The crux of the problem is 89% of the country vs union-supported-media. Who gets the coverage? Who gets the spin?
The biggest hurdle is getting that 89% to realize that it is 89%. Why am I reminded of 1984? Something about the proles were only suppressible because they didn't realize how heavily they outnumbered the apparatus?
It is very easy for me to hang out in my house, feeling like the lone conservative patriot, because everything that pours into my house from the television says that conservatives are a dying breed.
We're not.
We're just not getting the air-time that progressives are.
Ok Jefferson, why would you give them violence? C'mon, that's illogical and I hope you know it –
don't fall for the bait, it's a poorly crafted trap and if anyone is going to fall for it, you do so at your own peril -
That is proprietarty information they will never share untill forced to. Membership would drop in droves in the Right to Work States were this info available and Union DECERTIFICATIONS would happen.
Glenn Beck is watching this video right NOW! Shout out to Glenn!!
All the unions seem to produce is a redistribution of poverty. California has a half a TRILLION dollar unfunded pension mandates of their unions that the taxpayer is expected to pay. It's another reason I live in Arizona now. I read "The Jungle" and yes, in 1900 working conditions did need a bit of a fix. But in 2010, the unions are actually destroying companies. There is no other way to put it. If the American worker does not stop giving the wealth they create to the government and the unions, then they deserve what happens to them. I'm sorry but that's the way it is.
Let's see, with unions we get substandard quality for exorbitantly more cost. That's certainly not sustainable. So the only way to sustain it would be to act like a mob thug. That’s all the union activists are, criminals. Plain and simple. What we need now are strict laws against these hate crimes the unions are perpetrating. They have single handedly bankrupted the state of California, and the American auto industry. We’ve reached a time where we need to see them as they are, a threat tour freedoms and way of life. A union’s only purpose is to keep substandard workers employed. Boycott union made items!
I just love how these union nurses say that their strike is actually about advocating for the patients. How is striking and BLOCKING the hospital entrances advocating for patients? This is about them and what they want for themselves. Give me a break!
President Reagan had the right idea when he fired the air traffic controllers when they were on strike. He replaced them. We could easily replace these whiners with people who are out of work.
You never see the union violence condemned in the press. Nor do you see screams of racism when they beat up a black guy.
http://www.PoliticalCentrist.com News and views for independent voters
Our only hope would be that Jon Stewart would air this under his segment "You're not helpin any"…which is what he did when he aired the Union group that egged the Tea Party Express.
As with the health bill, repeal and replace, but this repeal slightly more ambitious, and fundamentally far more important.
Repeal: 16th Amendment
Replace: All taxation of income with the Fair Tax
If we can't ever accomplish this, mediocraty will be the best this country can hope for in the future
Don't know about you but the fat one in the SEIU jacket would have been out cold seconds after her attack and when she woke up her clothes would have been out of style.
I say FIRE EM ALL !! There is 10% unemployment, there are a lot of people that would like those jobs. Just don't let the new employees form a union !! Reagan and PATCO come to mind
What would this Country do without Glenn Beck's huge microphone to shine the light on these thugs!
This fat beeeech needs to be charged with ass-ault. These union thugs are as corrupt at Capone's boys. What in the frigging h-ell has happened to our country?????
This is how unions work. Thuggery and intimidation. I have a photo on my phone of a car out of Illinois over in N. Central Indiana labeled "The Rat Squad" that sits outside of company parking lots when their workers go on strike to chase away anyone who wants to work.
Yeah, that's where I got the tip, too.
Ditto!!!!!!
There will be an upcoming groundswell of anti-union activity in the US. The questions to ask are:
1. When will it start (possibly after the taxpayers have to bail out every single union pension fund)
2. When the overwhelming majority (89%) of all working Americans figure out the unions are nothing more than Marxists in hiding.
If you don't believe me about #2 above, go to each website and read their mission statements, about, etc information. You will be amazed.
I've had my run-ins with the unions when I first got out of the military in the early 90's. Their work ethic is abysmal, they expect something for nothing and they will, without a doubt, bite the hands that have fed them. All along, their "beloved leaders" drive by the striking union workers in their limousine, waving and telling them to keep up the good work. And the union people call real workers bad names.
Ask this of yourself union worker. When was the last great invention that came from a union shop? Look it up through the patent office. There have been ZERO inventions in the history of the United States developed by a union worker.
Since the cleaver photos are up on the internet under SEIU photostream, can we get these threatening idiots arrested??? HELLO??? POLICE???
SEIU has been empowered & emboldened by the Usurper-in-Thief. They think they run the world.
Absolutely could not agree more! Good job on this article.
http://unplugthepoliticalmachine.ning.com/
Californians are taking action….but this MUST become a nationwide cause to
Stop govt unions from petitioning against the taxpayer and bankrupting the states
Good point.
Gives us more insight into the uber-efficiency of Gov't workers!
We need to stand up against unions. Right now I am working for the government and I am forced into a union even through this is a right to work state. They forced the legislators to accept the union as an organization to cover the state workers. But don't stand up against them or you will find your way into unemployment. This is why I had to start uphttp://www.americanparchment.com, this is my rebellion. Share with the rest of the world what the left and the union thugs are doing to this country. We cover way more than unions but this is a subject that makes my blood boil. Oh and get this, my direct manager works for the Union as a second job. Talk about intimidation.
Great article.
I read the book "The Kitchen Boy" about a year ago. It is a fictional story (with historic accuracy) about the overtaking of Russia by Lenin. Facinating to see the similarities that are going on from within our gov't and unions to make this a socialist society. The sad conclusion (that we all know if we attended school before the cold war ended) is that the poor workers that looked to Lenin and his cronies for "help" were given the shaft and were worse off then before. Unfortunately, I see this result coming to the American people faster than we realize.
I agree, with one edit:
Repeal: Every Federal Tax Law on the books
Replace: All taxation with a Fair or Flat tax.
There is a reason why Nuclear plants aren't popping up anywhere.
It's not because of Gov't issues, it's because Nuclear Power is expensive and relies on Gov't subsidies.
Let me respectfully suggest that your position is a steaming pile of python dung. Work conditions are still deplorable in many industries worldwide. In a free society workers may choose whether forming unions helps their lot in life. The only thing that has changed since before the labor movement of the 20s is that the government saw fit to regulate the work environment. Go tell the family's that lost people in the mines of West Virginia that they would be better off trusting the benevolence of their deceased loved one's former employer. Unions still serve a vital function, which is to prevent exploitation. You had a phalanx of union busters in the WH for EIGHT FREAKIN' YEARS, and if you're not satisfied with the damage done to labor relations and work safety in that time, you never will be.
Cry me a river. If you are a victim of union intimidation take it to your local government or your Representatives in Congress. Your anecdotal story is touching, but devoid of authenticity. Must be a really horrible union, that you are able to tap out criticism on a website in the middle of a work day with total impunity.
ObamaCare making you sick? This podcast will make you feel better! http://www.cashbeechcroft.podomatic.com
From a rising star in the Tea Party movement.
Yeah have you seen this liberal? He's something awful…

"Forced" into the union? Find another freakin' job if it's so distasteful to you to receive union benefits and protection. According to your standards, because you accepted the job, you must be a union thug yourself.
Are you sure about those subsidies?
Yes, they are a massive up-front investment. There are thousands of rules and regulations. And there are PLENTY of political games being played.
Why would the CEO of a major power producer, and his PAC, support Cap & Trade, if it is going to raise the rates of its customers? Check out J. Wayne Leonard & ENPAC.
Few, if any new Nukes will even begin to be built for decades.
Unfortunately I believe we are well on our way to mediocrity. Over the past 100 years this country has moved close and closer to the comfort of soft tyranny of government control and away from the risk of individual liberty that forges a people ahead.
Years ago there was a strike at a paint manufacturing plant in Emeryville, CA. We had an office and warehouse in the building next door. I returned one evening and had to park the company truck very close to the main doors of the paint plant – and the thugs sitting in a car watching their pickets slashed our tires to get our attention to move the truck. Yes, they slashed the tires which immobilzed the truck, and chatted with me while I watched the mobile repair service install $600 in tires curbside. We sued them in Small Claims Court and lost. Not a big fan of the unions..
Do not confuse the act of self defense as perpetuating violence.
Aren't we supposed to be boycotting Glen Beck? Ow that's the SEIU, White House and White House Spiritual advisor sorry!
The only reason that the United States get's involved in wars is to steal the resources of other countries, this produces the illusion of created wealth, we are simply taking from others at a national level and funneling it to the princes of the military industrial complex who then hand it out to their sychophants who then "appear" to create new industries.
You must first realize that wealth is static. It cannot be truly created and there is only so much to go around, this is why if you want to have the middle class expand the upper class must shrink. If you want to eliminate the lower class you must eliminate the upper class, there is no other way.
If wealth is not redistributed then new entrepreneurs will have no opportunity to achieve the same success that others have. It is only fair to put money back into the system that the rich have taken it from, this is the essence of fairness.
god you people are so stupid
"The blacks at SEIU" "welfare black mobs"? Why don't you STFU you hick, what an ignorant statement. The tea parties have nothing to do with race, so stop injecting your stupidity and racism into the tea parties.
You should find another site to spew your hate.

Perhaps this person is not at the workplace today and he/she sent this e-mail from home? If you believe strongly in Union thuggery, be my guest but unless you are a wizard you have no idea how or from where the above e-mail was sent.
Oh, by the way – I AM at my workplace but not a union member. I do my job competently or I would be fired and I understand that completely. I do not need to pay dues to anyone to watch out for my welfare – I am able to do that myself…I know, a strange concept!
Don't be dependent upon the media.
Make those who would prefer a European Socialist model (or worse) uncomfortable in their own shoes. Peer Pressure. It has to happen at the individual and community level, not just the national level. You see guys on strike outside the supermarket, ask them why they're striking. Remind them you're sacrificing just like the next guy. Remind them who's REALLY sucking them dry of their salaries. Remind them that companies need to stay in business. Remind them that PROFIT IS NOT EVIL, GREED IS. When non-profit hospitals, local daycare providers, small community businesses and the like are being harassed by unions, it's up to YOU, ME AND OUR COMMUNITIES to support those businesses and not let them cave in to what they think is bad press and public opinion.
For every good company that gets boycotted like Whole Foods did by leftist single-payer system thugs who tried to silence them for suggesting free-market solutions, every good company deserves a BUYCOTT like we gave Whole Foods when they needed our support the most. Step up and organize your neighbors to support the companies and small businesses that get it right. Don't let them fall prey to thugs.
I haven't received a pay increase in the last 3 years and my highest pay increase in the last 6 years was 1%. In the last 4 years, my employer outsourced nearly half the jobs here and they have successfully busted three unions. Those remaining live day-by-day wondering how much longer they will have a job. Most of the outsourced jobs are filled by Hispanics or Asians who speak little or no English. Obviously they are here illegally and receive substandard wages. Yet my employer claims to be a staunch defender of worker rights, fair wages, unions, the poor, diversity, socialized healthcare, and all other liberal pathologies. My employer is a major newspaper!
Union workers crack me up.
They would rather kill the companies they work for (and I guess the economy) and get nothing than take a slight reduction in benefits for a job that a trained monkey could do and they are vastly over paid for.
Anon… wars are good for the economy because the vast majority of those trillions are spent in AMERICA on AMERICAN suppliers and contractors resulting in AMERICAN JOBS. I don't know if you are clueless or think we are clueless… either way you look like a fool.
I appreciate the article. We (my company) work in sales of Electrical Supplies and needless to say the last couple years have been very bad. No raises for over 2 years and a 3% pay cut last year, across the board. And not one protest from employees. We understand the neccessity to cut costs and we are glad to have jobs.
The only thing we are damn sick of is taking on higher taxes on top of this to support the new "aristocracy" of America- the public unions. God forbid reality ever effects their way of life. Pigs.
The fragmentation and polarization of our citizenry since this man has become president,………
has proliferated to alarming levels.
The real frightening thing about it is that this is the intention of this administration.
The USA, USMC, USN, USAF and the USCG is going to be replaced by the AFL-CIO, SEIU, UAW, etc.
each and every member an American.
I know anon's TRUE IDENTITY… it's Barack NObama!!!!! Or maybe Michelle NObama…. Either way he's STILL crazy.
As for your post… yawn. Worthless. You would be SOOOO much happier in Russia, China, Cube, Venezuela… You must be one trully unhappy soul.
Don't be dependent upon the media.

And what exploitation do the unions that teachers, nurses, & government worker belong to prevent? The exploitation of a wage so low that they can't afford a 3000sq. ft. house?
Macnvettes is right, 100 years ago when people had few options for work, they could be exploited, today every person in this country has the option of getting hundreds of jobs that can pay their bills.
please shut up, dumb ass
Very true, perhaps I misunderstood your words "if violence is what they want, then we should give them what they want" – didn't really make it too clear that you were stating your reaction, kinda sounded like you were ready to 'give it to them' – just saying, cuz the idea of us beginning violence is the day we self destruct

Still trying to talk sense to a maroon (yes I know the correct spelling)?
I know a single young man with a income of only $17,000 and he is paying $425. in Fed. taxes. He would be better off unemployed, but he doesn't swing that way.
ps: he can't afford health care and the gobberment cares–not at all.
I would have KICKED HER ASS, everyone has a right to defend their self.
I'll bet 5 bucks that there were high fives and whooping and hollering for this conduct back at the union hall.
Try this SEIU attack thing on MY wife, and you'll find out just how crazy I can be…
You'll end up floating down the Rio Grande…facedown…
"Stud" needs to be nailed into a wall and sheetrocked…
Just sayin'…
