Al Qaeda’s Successful Attack
by Lurita DoanEveryone keeps saying how lucky we are that the “crotch” bomber on Flight 253 was unable to ignite the explosives hidden in his underwear, but I am sorry to report that the attack was a actually a huge success. The plane was not destroyed and no lives were lost, but the larger, strategic goals of al Qaeda were certainly advanced.

Too many Americans, and many in our Department of Homeland Security, forget that al Qaeda targeted our economic power and symbols on 9/11. The goal, as Osama bin Laden announced, was to force, or cause the US to take actions, that would erode our economic prosperity and weaken us as a nation .
Unfortunately, we have given bin Laden a victory he does not deserve. DHS has, for some time, been unaware that the failure of many of the security measures and procedures that they have championed, has resulted in additional, self inflicted wounds.
Just days ago, while standing in a long line of frustrated travelers at Dulles airport in Virginia, I received a painful reminder. TSA screeners were operating a few of the processing lanes to clear travelers, and I suggested that it looked as if TSA might need to open up more lanes to handle the holiday traffic. “No”, the TSA screener responded, “we have the right number of lanes open, it’s just that there are too many passengers.”
No statement could better indicate how unimaginative our national response has been to terrorism. TSA seems to believe that there are too many travelers, and we would be better served if far fewer people used the airports.
This kind of logic has resulted in huge numbers of foreign travelers and vacationers no longer willing to come to the U.S. Indeed, America’s share of the world market has yet to recover to pre 9/11 levels. Understandably, travelers hate waiting in long lines, increasingly invasive procedures and airport hassles disguised as greater security.
Our leaders say the right things. Senior DHS executives talk knowledgeably about “layered defense” and “risk management”. Yet, when it’s time to implement a rational risk management strategy our government leaders are inept and fall back on the same old, one-size-fits-all approach, adding costly and ill conceived procedures that increase traveler frustration.
Remember the shoe bomber? In December 2001, this guy put explosives in his sneaker and tried to light it on fire in the airplane. He failed, and was wrestled to the ground by alert and courageous passengers. Shortly thereafter, DHS devised a new procedure, requiring everyone to remove their shoes and pass them through the detection system.
The shoe bomber response is a perfect example of DHS’s “risk based approach” in action. Everyone was required to take off their shoes from old ladies to little kids. Everyone was considered an equal risk. As a result, lines grew longer. DHS could focus attention on travelers that represented a real and potential threat, (for example, a Muslim man, travelling without a passport, without luggage, and who had been identified as potential terrorist by family members), but DHS has not done that. DHS views all travelers as an equal risk, which is probably why the TSA representative thinks that things would be better if fewer people decided to fly.
Unintentionally, DHS is creating the next opportunity for a terrorist attack. Screening procedures, document checks, baggage X-rays, shoe inspections, as well as whatever new procedures are dreamed up to check for explosives in underwear, have caused longer delays at airports. These procedures are why we are told to get to the airport early.
By creating these long lines of waiting travelers, DHS has created the next target for an al-Qaeda bomber. The line itself. A suicide bomber could kill more passengers by igniting a bomb in the midst of the long line of travelers as they wait to be screened by TSA. Why bother to try to smuggle explosive on the airplane when it is far easier to blow up people standing in line? Not only is there no security involved, but the number of travelers is far greater.
Watching DHS continually overreact to security challenges and then inadvertently create even bigger potential security problems is painful. As the 9/11 commission correctly noted, our leaders lack sufficient imagination. And so, we are probably doomed to more of the same.
Is there a better way? You bet there is. Here are three things we could do right now:
- Stop talking about “risk based security” and start implementing it. Our targeting system and screening resources should be focused on those actually representing the biggest potential threats. Too much effort is wasted on little kids, old ladies and people that represent little or no real threat. It’s time to stop all the political correctness and focus attention squarely on those that want to do us harm.
- Stop talking about layered defense and implement it. Instead of focusing attention on screening passengers at the TSA line, we could push some inspection and resources throughout the airport starting at the entrance. The most effective bomb detection system deployed anywhere in the world is a bomb sniffing dog. Canine units are also unobtrusive and do not hinder travelers as they move along their way, so they could be deployed at airport entrances with great effect without adding delays to the already ponderous process..
- Do talk about passengers. Oddly, DHS is reluctant to talk about the role of observant passengers in the security process. Perhaps DHS believes that only the government can provide passengers with protection, but both the shoe bomber and the crotch bomber were stopped, not by any government action, process, or inspection system, but by a determined, conscientious, fellow passenger. Such actions should be encouraged, and potential enemies should be made aware that travelling passengers are alert and willing to take necessary action. (A policy that allows the public to drag the next idiot bomber back through a gauntlet of frustrated travelers, eager to kick, beat, poke, and flog the would-be bomber on his way to jail would be even better.)
Above all else, we need to think more creatively and better leverage our national, entrepreneurial genius so that every new DHS policy includes a procedure that would improve security, but would also speed the flow of legitimate trade and travel. This way, every DHS investment would not only make us safer, but would have the added benefit of stimulating economic growth and vitality by moving people and cargo faster.
Let’s hope that over the next few weeks DHS starts trying to defeat al Qaeda by disrupting their strategy, and that the days of self-inflicted economic costs are no longer part of the norm.

Israeli agent to American agent, "You look for bombs, we look for bombers"
Actually, the more elegant solution would be to remove the incentive for them to attack us, which is our support for Israel. This support costs us billions every year and gains us nothing but enemies while Israel repeatedly stabs us in the back (USS Liberty attack, stealing nulcear material from the Savannah site, spying on us, selling our missile technology to CHINA, etc…..) We have no business supporting some exclusive race OR religion-based country. Imagine us supporting with our tax dollars a "White Homeland" that was created by kicking Blacks off land in Africa. Though it wasn't the same situation, reminds me of Apartheid South Africa which, btw, was an ally of Israel – they had Aparteid in common.
Your an idiot.
So long as we can have a separate set of laws based on race like Israel does, that might work. Make the US a White Homeland like Israel is Jew Homeland – let's carry this out to its natural "let's be like Israel" conclusion. Yes or no.
Fine article. Lately, the success of El Al methods in handling these things has been mentioned. Anyone know about this (and can expand)?
Profile, profile, profile.
Ah! A pre-emptive strike at intelligent and useful conversation I see. Troll softly and carry the big stick of alleged racism.
El Al has it right.
The US has it wrong.
Currently, we are two steps behind the beat, dancing to a bad polka. The terrorists are acting. We, are reacting. It will never work as long as they are making US dance to their music.
Political correctness can be dangerous. These bombers all have fit a PROFILE.
I'm pretty sure you are on the wrong site.
Crotch bomber? Weenie bomber is more like it.
Should we lease the box cars and ovens or buy? Run the numbers and get back to me.
The United States of America needs to get UNITED. A true American always puts OUR country First and formost. As the old saying goes "Charity begins at home." In this case Every United States Citizen needs to get motivated take action and do their duty to protect the GREATEST Country in the world. What ever it takes we need to get on the same page and show the wold how INTELLEGENT, POWEFULl perservering AMERICAN people will be.

As Dan said, El Al (Israelis) looks for bombers while we look for bombs. Practicality is a different matter, though, because El Al handles a small fraction of our air traffic. Still, we could use some lessons from them on how to approach the entire task of screening for potential risks, what to look for and what should be more closely scrutinized.
I like Knicker Bomber. Has a nice ring to it.
Up to now, edge goes to binladen. Of course if he has anything at all to do with the farce in the WH its a clear whippin?
Dan,
I'd say it's more like the wrong universe

I, for one, intend to do my part. Instead of putting up with the onerous, absurd and invasive security theater that is TSA, I would rather drive across the country – taking three days to do so – than fly.
I quit flying in 2003. The TSA security kabuki, carried out by a team less intelligent than chimps, both infuriated me and made me laugh. I'm an 11th generation American, and I simply won't put up with that cr@p. Now, if I can't drive there, I don't go.
Back in '83 when I was a longhair rock guitarist returning from a year-long tour of Europe, I hooked up with an El Al flight out of Israel in Amsterdam to return to New York. My passport had visa stamps from just about every country in western Europe and Scandinavia, so the El Al security guys took me out of the line and interviewed me. They made me play my Walkman for them (Remember those?), they looked INSIDE my guitar – they had a set of jewler's tools: Is that cool, or what? – and they made the plane wait 15 minutes until they were done with me. They were polite but very, very intense (The Beirut bombing was a few months earlier).
That's how you do it, right there, you profile the he!! out of people. Oh, and I had steel untensils to eat with when abord. The kosher meals were by far the best airline food I've ever had.
The TSA is a joke. A sick, pathetic, and profoundly stupid joke.
Were you born that stupid, or did you have to practice? It doesn't have anything to do with Israle. The Islamofascists hate us because we are not Islamofascists. They've even told us as much.
They hate us not only for supporting Israel, but for being, what they consider, a Christian nation. Too bad more people in America don't consider us to be a Christian nation.
Is that your final solution?
Yeah, too bad apartheid absolutely destroyed the South African economy in addition to being morally abhorrent.
Where do you get your tin foil hats?
I have stopped flying. In my opinion, it's just not worth it.
You are completely uninformed if you think, that our supporting Israe,l is the ONLY thing they have against us!!
You sound like David Duke on an acid trip with these ideas of yours.
Caly Girl, start with voting out the California Democrats please…
Well, there you have it! Obama has proven more than enough times, that he is NOT a true American!!
The PC apologists always cry that not all mulsims are terrorists … maybe but what is true is that so far all of the terrorists have been muslims. With props to JG profile, profile, profile!
Profile the crap out of me …. hell let's do retna scans if I can get though faster …
the author is right .. they did win again and again ….
head over to Yeman and tell the government to pick a corner of the country .. any corner.. then send over ervythign we got and start bombing the crap out of it until they hadn over who we need… soon you will run out of country
War is hell .. keep it that way …. WWII would still be going on today if we had these clowns (both sides) in office…
No Fonz, we need to stop supporting the oil producing nations in the middle east with trillions of dollars in oil imports. We can start that by exploring and producing our own energy resources and sending those terrorist supporting nations into economic ruin. This would dry up the finances of the muslim terrorist operations, and prove once and for all that a peaceful and productive nation like Israel is far superior to any islamic state.
DHS – the crisis over-reaction created liberties/freedom/rights monster that can never earn it's costs. A constant adversary on our own team that says every day- "We must be perfect". Translated that means; We will be trying every day to sacrifice your heritage in compromise for a false and unachievable security". And will be forever forward.
It won't be long until the Bombers use the same methods the drug lords use to transport drugs across the border. Without a body x-ray, we won't be able to detect the explosives. We must start looking for bombers NOW! The health risks of repeat exposures to X-rays at airports would become a huge health issue to the nation and raise health care costs.
Anyone that get on an airplane after what happened during Christmas, is, in my opinion, much too trusting in this administration…while nothing worthwhile is being done about security in this country the idiots in charge, are behind closed doors, yet again, trying to ram a health care debacle down the throats of the American people! They are NOT in the least concerned about securing America against terror attacks, rather their criminal agendas!!!
I posted this on Big Hollywood yesterday, and it seems all the more appropriate with this story:
"I actually had a twinge of happiness when I heard Obama had bombed Yemen but then this crap happens. Here's a Walter Williams article I read in one of his books making a good case for racial profiling:

Some sage words from a wise man: Like he says, don't blame the security officers who detain you if you're innocent, blame your Muslim brethren who have caused you to be associated with atrocities."
Profile the crap out of people. Screw political correctness.
Government should not provide security for private companies. End of story.
You missed the most important change required, and as such you are depending on government to work and work efficiently. It won't happen, from Katrina response to educating kids, government is a failure and will continue to be.
Ya'll are being so hard on The Fonz. I was just about to disagree with him, but then I realized he's going for the "elegant solution." And as we all know, elegance wins wars and establishes peace throughout the world…

i would still fly before I drove across the country. It's faster and safer. 40,000 deaths per year on the highway.
Your odds of trouble on an airplane are slim to none.
When Mr Obama releases more prisoners from Gitmo Bay, are they going to be screened? Every day, in almost every way they are insulting us as a people! The American People did not screen Mr Obama good enough before voting him into Office!
After dropping off my son and his family for their flight from Phoenix to Raleigh, I had a sick thought. Noting the half a block long queue for baggage check in what is to prevent an inventive terrorist from blowing up a suitcase bomb there? Absolutely nothing! The human carnage would be horrendous. This would bring up the absurd situation of having to be inspected before you even entered the airport.
Recently retired, my wife and I bought an RV expressly to travel across country and avoid airports. We live in interesting times.
You miss the point. You have to make people uncomfortable. If you are a muslim who isn't involved in terrorism, jihad, extremism, etc… sooner or later you'll get pissed off enough about being strip searched at the airport so that when you hear about or notice someone who is trying to blow up the airport, you'll (quietly) take action so that person doesn't succeed.
The people have to be as vigilant as the security people, and treating everyone equally doesn't create that mindset, it just causes a shrug-the-shoulders-because-everyone-has-to-go-through-it attitude.
So far, bombers have either looked arabic or like a hippie, so let's start by singling out all arabs and hippies…
Corruption destryoed the South African economy. Post-colonialism destroyed the South African economy. Rampant crime destroyed the South African economy.
Apartheid was bad, no one will deny that. But there are a lot of other forces at work that keep it firmly locked in the third world.
Profiling, bomb sniffing dogs, pat downs and body cavity searches have become a necessary evil. Deal with it Mohammed, afterall it's your stinking Jihadist ideaology that has brought all of this about.
If you don't like the way American Ailines do it, don't come here. Most of us don't want you here anyway.
Who is John Galt?
Trying to tell a blockhead conservative that our foreign policy might create enemies is like trying to tell a liberal welfare doesn't help fix poverty.
We have no business meddling in Israel. I agree.
Your are correct, if we removed the incentive, they would not attack. You are incorrect about Israel as the motive but it serves their purpose if you think it is the motive. The real motive is religious hegemony (not just against Israel but everywhere) and to truly implement your elegant solution, we would need to submit to the Muslim world view resulting in mass conversions, sharia law and many other tyrannical rules and policies. By all means, step up and lead by example and be the first to convert.
tisk tisk, that's a horrible comeback. Research it, you might discover he is right.
Look for this guy to come through America real soon !!!!

Then al Qaeda has won. They are terrorist, religious fanatics, not a cult, not a group that believes differently, they are true fanatics , meaning their goal is to spread fear & terror, to throw the world into chaos & bring on Armageddon. Our government & many of us, I would say the majority, have proven over & over again that they just don't get it. Their attacks, by our definition of success, do not need to be TECHNICALLY successful, to be TACTFULLY successful, that would just be a bonus. Often times they are even more successful if the attempts fail because we have idiots like Attorney General Holder and many in this Administration that will give them a pulpit to spew their theology & allow them to continue on spreading terror.
I ran the numbers and we can't afford to meddle in Israel anymore. It's time to let the 51st state go.
Wether we are "protecting" Jews in Israel or Muslims in Kosovo, you have to ask what supporting perpetual war accomplishes besides adding to the national debt. And if you can't atleast question that, then you are equally as blockheaded as a liberal that can't understand welfare doesn't solve poverty.
It's not profiling, it's called good police work.
It IS profiling and it should be done. Profiling IS good police work. Perhaps you thought my comment was from a bleeding-heart liberal. That, I am not.
They have also told us that they love bankrupting the United States by luring us into perpetual war. It solves nothing. They run around with some AK 47's and macgyveresque bombs while we spend trillions.
We constantly meddle in other countries affairs because the U.S. government knows best. They also know that we don't need to eat trans fat, our water tank on our toilet should be a certain size, and we should use a certain type of light bulb.

Before 9/11, Bin Laden never once mentioned Israel in any of his insane rants. He did say that the presence of US troops in Saudi Arabia was the worst disaster to befall Islam since the death of Mohamed. That has nothing to do with Israel and everything to do with protecting US foreign oil supplies. Bin Laden repeatedly demanded the US to leave the Arabian peninsula. He never once demanded anything regarding Israel. Anyone who knows a smidgen of real history (not the propaganda leftists spew) knows Muslims have been waging Jihad against us infidels for 1400 years. Things had been quiet on the western front since the fall of the Ottoman Empire (although Jihad had continued unabated elsewhere). Now they’re on the offensive again. Nothing but our very existence makes them hate us.
Al Quaeda, Bin Laden, Arabs, Muslims, and the world in general couldn’t give a rat’s ass about the Palestinians. Occasionally they use the Israeli/Arab conflict as a rallying cry to garner sympathy from leftists and any other fellow antisemetic travellers like yourself.
And yes, the TSA and DHS could learn a lot from Israeli security. I’ve flown to and from Israel. Psychological screening starts even before you get on line for your ticket. It’s also interesting they don’t use such powerful metal detectors as in the US. They know they’ve already properly screened everyone before they get that far. How do I know this? I have a prosthesis in my arm. Before 9/11 this never caused a problem. Since 9/11, I have set off the metal detector every time in the US. Never in Israel. There are dozens of Arab Muslims and other people of all stripes on the plane and I feel completely safe.
I hear you, dictators run rampant through the continent.
Check out this article:
http://www.boston.com/news/globe/editorial_opinio...
and while you're at it throw out all the illegal aliens squatting in your State…I was born in CA…the last time I went to a high school reunion, I didn't recognize it, I though I was south of the border!! I'll never return….
"By creating these long lines of waiting travelers, DHS has created the next target for an al-Qaeda bomber."
And maybe that is exactly what Al Qaeda wanted. Al Qaeda is adaptive, we in the US are very static in our approach to terrorism. This junior Jihadist had a mission, he may very well have carried it out perfectly. Not that this little junior terrorist knew what the true goals of his handlers were.
political correctness has rendered us impotent in our abilities to make war and fight the bad guys.
I fly to Amsterdam to visit with our family at least once a year. Prior to 9/11 our blond haired – blue eyed daughter (6 yrs old at the time) was taken from the screening line to be interviewed – I was told I could not be with her! She was taken behind a glass opaque screen (not out of my sight) and asked about her travels, told to turn on her walkman and her beloved Furby (remember those?). Needless to say I was horrified that they would target a child and not let me be with her. From that point on I vowed I would never let my family be separated at an airport regardless of the security protocol in place. I'm not looking forward to our spring visit.
He is NOT right. Muslims have been at war with Christians and Jews long before there was ever a state of Israel. Saying otherwise shows ignorance of historical fact.
Just because he got his facts straight on Israel stabbing us in the back does not mean his analysis is correct. What good would come of throwing Israel under the bus? Eventually that country would be attacked and genocide would take place. Those who consider us their enemy would have advanced their agenda and accomplished one of their strategic goals, this would embolden them to continue the advance not seek a peace. Bloodshed would continue.
Whenever I look at the TSA screeners working at an airport, I am reminded of KMart. There are always only 1/5 of the available counters being used (no matter the demand) and the screeners have a bored and stupid expression. Not inspiring.
You must know that if all the airlines had their own private security screeners, the ACLU woukd be crawling all over them looking for discriminatory practices. Eventually the ACLU would render private security just as ineffective and impotent as the TSA is now.
So true, the best defense we have seen is a motivate set of Individuals on the plane that thwarted the terrorists actions. Big Government will always trend toward ineptness, corruption, inefficiency, apathy, waste and eventually collapse on itself due to it's size.
We need to somehow enable passengers to be more effective against the terrorists on board, not less. That has proven to be our best defense so far.
I'm REALLY surprised that there haven't been homicide bombers/shootings at the malls yet.
I agree . When asked why he wanted to blow up the plane the guy made references to the cruise missiles launched in Yemen a few weeks before. You hit a hornets nest with a bat and you're going to get stung. . By the DOD own account cruise missiles and drone attacks have a 3% success rate. So for every three bad guys you get you kill 93 people who were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Those are 93 mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers who had the misfortune of living near some bad dudes. The argument will be, well they should of known better than to live next to some terrorist. Or we're at war and they're collateral damage. I call bull shit. If it was your mother, father sister or brother who was killed by another countries arrogance you can't tell me you'd sit here and say 'well it was the United States, and they did have some intel that maybe a bad guy lived next door so that makes it ok'. yeah right…. Grow up people, this isn't a video game this is peoples lives we're destroying. Our actions as a nation have repercussions. It's called blow back. I'm not say we should stand by and do nothing but we spend 75 billion a year on intelligence. And God only knows how much on the military. You think they could come up with a way to take a few bad guys out with out pissing off the whole neighborhood….
Take away Air Force One and Pelosi One and see how fast air travel security changes.
keepdad, I thought about that when looking at pictures of the jam-packed terminal right after someone walked the wrong way and then disappeared 20 minutes later. Supposed that person had only seemed to disappear, or suppose that person had had an accomplice with explosives on or in his body, and suppose that person or his accomplice had been herded into the holding area with those hundreds of other travelers? If you and I can think this way, I'm sure the terrorists have already thought of it.
My first thought was that everyone should fly naked, but, then I realized I might get the seat next to Janet Napolitano, and changed my mind.
Let's look at Hollyweird
I now understand that when you retire from TSA you are elgible to apply for a security job at the white house.

So after we abandon the Israelis to extermination, what then? Comply with the Jihadists when they demand we stop supporting Great Britain? How many allies will we have to turn our backs on in order to make the terrorists like us?
Feigned outrage over our support for Israel is just a smokescreen, something to get sympathetic Lefties and other anti-semites within our borders to do their propaganda work for them. What they really want is to destroy Western civilization and establish a worldwide caliphate. The best way to do that is to get us to throw up our hands and leave the Middle East, so they can control the world's oil supply and a good deal of nuclear weaponry.
Your concerns are right on. I thought of this a few years ago myself… the danger of a mass of unscreened passengers.. all lined up. It's a pathetic response to screen everyone equally. Air travel has not recovered and that is a win. When free people agree to be lined up and searched and the flow of commerce and free travel are restricted, the terrorist wins.
All of your bullet points are spot on and I'd add that congress ( or even individual states ) add provisions of harmless clauses or laws… that a fellow airline traveler that intercedes will be held harmless in the eyes of the court for reacting to a perceived threat. Yes, it's not perfection, BUT it sends a direct signal that we are living in new times and some people withhold action or judgement of circumstances because they fear litigation/prosecution.
Why doesn't someone run on a platform of improving air travel? The suggestions above are great. Bomb sniffing dogs, profiling everyone.
What happened to the program to allow pilots to carry? Anyone? Did they stall the licenses? I think so. Last I heard, there were thousands that wanted to participate, and only a dozen allowed.
How about a new rule. The plane can only take off it greater than 25% of the passengers are packing concealed. That would greatly enhance the security on the plane.
DHS's system of profiling Americans seems to have a fault. It didn't catch the panty bomber. Hmmm you mean it wasn't one of the groups the DHS targeted for profiling earlier this year. How odd….
This guy wasn't: Former Military – Nope, Tea Party – Nope, Rightwing extremist – Nope, etc.
Anyone remember the video of Bin Laden promising to give us a Christmas gift? Well, turned out it was the weenie-bomber. I say we bomb the $#@! out of those guys on the next Muslim holiday.
Let's all remember the Christmas miracle this year of a Muslim homicide bomber that failed due to an explosive that did not detonate. And brave passengers that rushed to the defense of their fellows.
Hear, hear. Every last one of our elected reps (POTUS excepted) should have to fly on commercial flights only.
Huc,
I appreciate, and echo your sentiments.
I quit flying comercially, on September 11th, 2001. That, from a man who has flown over a million miles. It is no longer worth it. Today, if someone really needs to see me face to face, I prefer they come to me. If it is urgent, I'll fly private aircraft, and I fly helicopter alot for short business trips.
I simply refuse to pay top dollar for air travel, then be treated as a suspect, while our little brown brethern sail on through security. I am an American. WE built the world, and gave them everything they now use against US.
George Bush, his failed Department of Homeland In-security, Janet "Butch" Napilatano, the TSA, Barrack Hussein Obama, and the Muslim Arab world can kiss my ass.
No exceptions. That is how this crap gets out of hand and elitist attitude grows.
SNIP : “No”, the TSA screener responded, “we have the right number of lanes open, it’s just that there are too many passengers"
Goverment at its finest, LMAO
Not to worry, dont you know? We have free healthcare coming. (sarc)
Amen Cowboy. I will never fly again. If I travel, I drive, and thats it. I don't plan on leaving the country, because there is no place worthwhile to to go. Once the country wakes up from this little PC coma we are in, maybe we can start making some much needed changes to the way we handle terrorism.
I disagree, if we had the limp-wristed politicians spouting their peacenik rhetoric and bowing and scraping to Hitler and Hirohito, we would be speaking a different language or you would be a lampshade.
Like good old Rahm once said, "Never let a good crisis go to waste".
No, I would make the exception for the POTUS and VPOTUS because of their demanding schedules and real need to be many places in the US and overseas for official State business. There is value in giving them extra protection given the target size and value. Senators and Congressional members are another story, though. Pelosi has abused her position so much that she should be put on a no-fly list just to give the airmen a break from her.
I don't mind if Muslims are tired of the terrorist BS and want to move here LEGALLY to protect their children, but you are right, profiling is a proven security measure, and should be put to very good use. It does make one wonder however, why do you not see more Muslims speaking out about disagreeing with the terrorists or condemning their actions.
Thefonz,
So the west should commit suicide so some pinko commie liberal jihadis terrorist can sleep safely. No dice.
Joe
It is the opposite.
Off shore drilling creates as many problems as it solves. We are still burning oil and the risk of environmental disaster from spills becomes inevitable. Go to the middle east sometime and look at their shorelines and then come back and tell us if you still want that for this country.
With the money we have spent attacking Iraq we could be well on our way to oil independence by now. We need a national commitment to ween ourselves off of foreign oil first, and then all fossil fuels. The technology is on the shelf, we just need the commitment to wind, solar, nuclear, hydrogen and several new technologies that could produce energy given a financial commitment.
You got it Mark We are trying everything in our power to vote those liars out. Especially Boxer & Feinstein.
They have wasted our tax money and accomplished absolutly NOTHING. They collect their paycheck live a very very comfortable live & F the constituents
Caly Girl
Yeah, then they poison the food supply. Good plan. You people have your heads in the sand.
The perfect reason for weening ourselves off of fossil fuels. Let them try and bath in their oil reserves once we have moved on to the next great technology leap.
You are right.
I have traveled to over forty countries.
