Ohio Democratic Party Targets Pro-SB5 Businesses
by LaborUnionReportAs Ohio’s SB5 (collective bargaining reform) goes to a vote on November 8th, pressure is being ramped up in the final week and a half. According to the Columbus Dispatch, unions and their fellow reform opponents have bankrolled the We Are Ohio anti-SB5 campaign to the tune of $19,048,680, dwarfing the pro-reform Building A Better Ohio’s $7.6 million.
Democrats and their union cronies have dominated Ohio for decades and the collective bargaining reforms signed into law earlier this year pose a very real threat to their continued base of power. As a result, the Democrats did something incredibly arrogant on Thursday afternoon when the official Twitter account for the Ohio Democratic Party released the names of several businesses that have contributed to SB5, then told their 4,000 followers to “contact them.”
Although the Ohio Democrats promised to tweet the names of the businesses and outside organizations “bankrolling unfair attacks on Ohio’s middle class,” they only listed three businesses before removing all four tweets.
Apparently, someone must have realized that it might be a bad idea for the official account of the Ohio Democratic Party to target individual businesses—especially in a state like Ohio that can ill afford to have any more businesses leave.
However, in the tweets that were posted, the links the Ohio Democrats provided took their followers to the companies’ contact page. One of the other links, though, took the followers to the targeted company’s contact page that listed the direct lines and e-mails of the company’s management.
As there are conflicting reports about the tightness of the polls heading into November, including a leaked memo indicating that Issue 2 [which is the SB5 measure on the ballot] may be a dead heat, unions and their Democrat counterparts are likely going to increase the pressure even more.
At the end of the day, though, with the exception of the beaches and the weather, it appears there is very little difference between California and Ohio—the unions in both states appear to want to bury taxpayers in debt, while their respective Democratic Parties want to chase the employers that employ the taxpayers away.

All one has to do is point out the long history of failures that encompass the UNION/DEMOCRAT marriage.
The people of OHIO I am sure are wising up.
I have a friend who's a teacher in Ohio and is very openly against SB5. I sent him some links showing Ohio's projected public school debt and how SB5 actually began to ADD jobs to school districts.
He doesn't care. The union told him they're coming for his job. The reality of SB5 means nothing to him.
That's the Union mentality. Pure selfishness.
Great site for information about the anti-2 thugs' doings:

The union species is dying. They seem to be in total amazement that taxpayers are tired of paying for $100,000 a year "jobs" that private business would get done for half that amount or less and without the threat of "work stoppage". And it would be performed faster and with higher quality. Unions are simply a thieving dinosaur that needs to fade into extinction, once and for all.
I guess there's three more businesses on their way OUT of Ohio….
The thugs exposing them selves once again.
He drank the kool-aid while listening to his Liberal education teacher in college… It's in his blood by now. Ignorance is a cronic disease… I woiuldn't be surprised if all liberals filed for disability based on their "disease".
From all reports the Governor is on the losing end of this. The constant demonization of our school teachers by conservatives has had the effect of pushing people toward the democrats and in 2012 the state's leadership is going to switch hands. Fact is, and this goes all the way back to the Reagan era, the far right has been trying to destroy public education and create a privatized system that in the end, regardless of what they say, will benefit the wealthy over everyone else.
So not true. There was a recent report done on our private contractors working in intelligence and national security issues and they get 3 times as much money as a government employee gets. This idea that government jobs bad and private jobs good is not reality and it's that mentality that is pushing the government to spend more money than they have to.
This, and Gov. Scott Walker are the two major issue's for the Unions. They will do anything…………and I mean anything to try to stop/reverse the mandatory Union dues and collective bargaining. The Unions have seen when dues are "voluntary" their intake drops by over 50%.
It would spell the end of the Democratic/Union party.
If the unions win this in Ohio it will only embolden them in other states along with the OWS movement. Anyone with a brain can see this as the beginning act to further problems for other states down the road. The OWS morons are just the opener for next summer when Obamacare is struck down by the supreme court. Once that is done these OWS types will really start the ball rolling with help of the unions, ACORN, and the other extreme left progressives. Strap in!
The reports of Issue 2's death, are, as they say, greatly exaggerated:

No argument that dues suck. My Dad is a Teamster and basically semi-retired and they still bill him every month at the same rate.
Kasich was on Hannity last week and even he admits that the tide has been turning against him. A teacher involved in the fight, who identified as conservative, called the show and explained that the constant demonization of school teachers is making everyone sick, they have had enough of it, and are voting democrat.
Just because Kasich may be feeling a little crestfallen, means nothing to the valueless nature of these polls. Maybe he hasn't heard about James O'Keefe's latest expose, where he shows that public policy researchers are willing to spike any pro-Issue 2 findings.
Oh, and the "conservative teacher" you mention is called a false-flag. How many other callers expressed their support for Issue 2, hmm?
Quite frankly, I'm getting sick of the constant victimization of school teachers.
What report??? Anyone can pull up a "report". I have no doubt that in security areas where there is intelligence and risk involved, they HAVE to use private contractors. They have no other option. Do you think a union guy will tote a gun and infiltrate jihad? It's NOT in his "job description". And if that contractor gets paid more, you can be assured he is delivering FAR more results.
Have there been any violent incidents or intimidation attempts yet? As the balloting draws near, I would expect that we'll see some, given that unions are involved.
There will be many dim cemetery voters, bussed in union voters(seiu, AFL-CIO, Teamsters, NEA, AFT) from surrounding states, acorn operatives, and the Chicago Brownshirt crowd to vote frequently and often. It will be a very close vote.
Gee, poor teachers! Why is everyone picking on them?
Maybe because public education funding is up 300% since 1990, with no improvement in schools' performance.
Maybe because there are now as many "teachers' aides" in the schools, doing God knows what, as there are teachers.
Maybe because teachers are more interested in their benefits packages than their students.
And just maybe because teachers' unions are among the most rapacious institutions in America, willing to tell any lie to represent their members as the victims of the government Scrooge.
"When school children start paying union dues, I'll start representing the interests of school children." — Albert Shankar, long-time UFT president.
Oh yes, they will be coming for his job – if SB5 is repealed. The money is gone, and REAL cuts are forthcoming in the way of layoffs. Of course the tenured/high seniority folks could care less.
Let's hope the good, hardworking folk of Ohio vote to keep SB5 in effect.
You didn't read the " report "?!?!?!
The one written by the intelligentsia?
Come on man, get with the " program " !
" You need to get yo mind right "
I've been speaking out for a while in support of Issue 2… And since I own businesses in Ohio, there has been a constant search for "what" businesses I own, and threats of "outing" me and other intimidation while trying to get me to say what businesses I own…
My favorite was the "put up a I support SB5" so the police and fire departments can ignore my property in the case of an emergency…
But, that is just talk… so far…
Maybe this has been mentioned before, but if SB5 is repealed, why can't they just pass the bill again?
The fact is – the state is out of money. If they can't control collective bargaining, wages, etc… of public employees, the next logical step is mass layoffs. So, I really wonder how informed the new hires (those without tenure/seniority) truly understand what is going on.
School teachers are the new battered women and children, dontcha know?
The unions want their "juice", no matter what.
Every time I get on Big Government I get ads saying "vote no on issue 2"! Seriously they need to fix this, Big Government should be FOR issue 2 not against. A "NO" vote on issue 2 will mean either firing teachers/police/fire or raise taxes on ALL Ohioans! Get the facts!
You know these ass bags will play dirty, and do everything they can to do destroy the economy at all costs to preserve being the 1%. make no mistake, these cushy over paid under qualified gov't employees are the 1%
The unionistas know that selling the no vote on Issue 2 using teachers is a non-starter. Parents are tired of their childrens' declining scholarship, and are wondering where their tax money is going while they write three-digit checks to Kumon and Mathnasium. Voters also saw the craven and illegal behavior of the so-called teachers in Wisconsin, and were disgusted.
Therefore, the tact in Ohio has been to make the issue about firefighters and the police. The entirely bogus claim that SB5 will cost jobs and make their jobs less safe is just that, entirely bogus. People are exhorted to "support firefighters," without being told that the status quo results in poor-performing fireman and cops remaining in positions, and getting promoted, based upon seniority. I know I'd feel a lot safer on the ladder or behind the badge, knowing my boss is my boss because he's damn good, not because the union said it was time for a promotion.
My favorite was the "put up a I support SB5" so the police and fire departments can ignore my property in the case of an emergency…
That's a very real concern, and I believe that is what is motivating the dearth of Yes on Issue 2 signs and bumper stickers being displayed. The frequency at which I see them, relative to the pro-status-quo signage, is far from the ratios of even the ginned-up polls.

Actually it's from a new book.
Im not debating that they have to use private contractors but come on, the CIA, NSA, DID, etc are all government entities and their results far outstrip the contractors.
Snore….if you're going to debate this like an actual person with a brain, try refraining from mindless ad homs.
Hey could I get the names of the communist and socialist of the dims party so we can go demonstrate against them!
The only people "demonizing" school teachers are the unions.
This is just another example of the Democrats generosity, inviting anyone to bite the hands that feed them. Stupid Buckeyes, communism is for Wolverines.
That explains why it took TEN YEARS to locate one rag-head camel-humper named OBL, If it had been offered as a $100mil "bounty" to a private contractor, he would have been toast within a month and we taxpayers would have saved billions of dollars and many lives. I love our military and they are the best. Their biggest enemy is the political dolts who are in charge.
You will never find one single example of a union member outperforming a private worker when it's the same job, same tools and training. The private worker will simply do it better, faster and certainly cheaper. THAT is a fact.
How have the "Conservatives" demoniized" the School Teachers? If it was truly simply about the Welfare of our childrens education, why make it a "Conservative vs Democrat" issue at all. I get confussed about the Lib's support for the Unions whose only interest as stated by the leaders is the "Teacher" pay and bennifits so they have a reson too up thier dues. Teachers get a raise so do the Union and the taxpayers are stuck flipping the bill for a Education System failing but costs more. Unions had a purpose but in this day and age, laws have been established too protect employees form those nasty employers (Taxpayer) who expect a days work for a days pay. Isn't it interesting how the entire Public supports the Public Schools even thou they may not have Children going too that Public Funded School?
Yeah, their have been many threats towards people supporting issue two on the papers forums for a while now… But, worse than that, the local auditor and schools were in cahoots! Our business property value went up almost 100% in ONE year… We went to the hearing to contest the new value (our building is around 30 years old…) and THE SCHOOL BOARD sent a lawyer to represent THE SCHOOL… So I was paying for a lawyer WITH MY tax dollars, to fight against an unfair tax assesment!
Of course the auditor sided with the schools attorney!
That auditor got into legal trouble for other issues and the new auditor is fixing my taxes, but I have been paying those inflated values for years…
Total corruption in government, and demonizing of business, course they are first in line to ask for a handout of our products for "the children"…
"Fact is, and this goes all the way back to the Reagan era…"
Goof, the decline of public education is linked to the post –sixties and to the creation of the Department of Education. The UN, which is prized by the left, even shows that the American educational system has declined, since the progressives have trashed it.
When will the dems figure out that throwing money around isn't the solution in and of itself?
You can't buy support. You can only rent it.
Gee, you mean the WORST but MOST EXPENSIVE schools in the entire developed world? Good riddance!
You are the sort of bastard who, like Obama, was happy to pull 1800 poor inner-city black kids out of their only chance at a future and hurl them back in to the DC hellholes.
They've been doing this since last November. There's signs everywhere that tell people what places NOT to patronize.
Of course, I've had lunch at those places all year long.
Also … John Kasich has been out speaking clearly about this. He's turned the argument around on these unions. The analagy he's been using has been brilliant: He's been saying "Why should a single mother have to play all of her healthcare and help subsidize the healthcare and pension of someone else who doesn't contribute anything?"
Brilliant … use their tactics against them.
I hope the folks in Ohio are as feed up with the corrupt unions and go the route that Wisconsin did.
It’s pretty sad that this is turning into a platform for political rhetoric because this is hardly a red state/blue state issue (http://eng.am/qh2i1T). The state is inundated with pension liability (http://eng.am/p9JEUG). Look at chart and see which state Ohio seems closest to when you do a ratio of liability to population. The answer is Rhode Island, a state teetering on the edge of disaster with pensions it can’t pay for (http://eng.am/vAkntd). If legislation in Ohio continues to stall, the state can expect the same fate that befell Rhode Island.
Every union member in America is potentially owed hundreds of dollars from their union. Yet most don't know how to go about getting their hard earned money back. Let your friends and co-workers know that UnionRefund.org is here to help them get their money back today. http://www.unionrefund.org/
Constant demonization of your school teachers? How about ignoramuses like yourself's inability to articulate a single thought or idea based on reason and logic, and how you instead result to building and tearing down straw men? Anything to say on that? Or would you prefer to just keep tearing down straw men?
Sorry for raining on your troll parade with 2 seconds of Aristotelian logic.
ad hom kind of like "teabagger" ?
