Union Extremists Using Children, Harassing & Menacing Replacement Workers In Verizon Strike
by LaborUnionReportIt’s only been a few days since 45,000 CWA and IBEW members walked off their jobs at Verizon, however, incidents of harassment, sabotage, and illegal picketing have already begun to pile up.
On Tuesday, Verizon obtained an injunction in Pennsylvania and filed for one in Delaware “to prevent ‘illegal’ and ‘reprehensible’ strike activities such as keeping managers out of buildings.”
In one deplorable incident, a foul-mouthed IBEW member in New Jersey put his young daughter in front of a Verizon truck turning into a driveway as he berated the driver using expletives.

On a union Facebook page, a menacing ‘note’ was posted to ’scabs’ that read (in part):
…Pretty tricky trying to get the jump on us, but we’re a lot smarter than you think. Can you see how are tactics are changing? How it seems like you can’t shake us? Can you feel the noose tightening? That noose is called union brotherhood….

Separately, the union militants have posted a ‘scab list,’ identifying individuals who have crossed the unions’ picket lines, as well as a company boycott list.
On Monday, Verizon issued a press release, detailing several incidents of sabotage (including fiber-optic lines being cut in several states) and offering a $50,000 reward for “information leading to the arrest and prosecution of individuals that intentionally damage Verizon cables or facilities or cause or attempt to cause physical injury to any Verizon employee or contractor.”
As noted earlier this week, the last Verizon strike involving this unit was in 2000 and involved some 85,000 Verizon workers. Since that time, the unions have lost some 40,000 members as more and more customers turn toward Verizon’s wireless service, which is non-union.
In fact, according to the Atlantic, “between 2006 and 2011, Verizon landlines have declined from 47 million to 25 million — nearly a 50% collapse in five years.” This dramatic decrease in Verizon’s landline business is likely a key motivator in the company’s desire to have its unionized workforce begin contributing more toward their health care costs. And, since the strikers are out on strike against an old and dying business that only accounts for 12% of Verizon’s operating profits, the unions’ strength will be waning regardless of the length of this strike. [Verizon's more profitable wireless division is almost 100% non-union.]
In the meantime, while the CWA issued a statement stating that the union does not condone illegal actions, the actions of the union militants are beginning to resemble the 2000 strike with its 455 incidents of sabotage, vandalism and harassment.

Posted this about this story on Breitbart TV yesterday so here it is again, Idaho's law for felony injury to a child. I'd say using your child as a blockade constitutes placing this child in a situation that endangers her life.

This is what we’re dealing with, union goons whose only concern is “what’s in it for me,” the customers/taxpayer be damned.

Pittsburgh stations have video of picketers with children blocking the building with a human shield, one man trying to gain entry was in obvious physical discomfort being squished within the picketers, so since he was african-american, is that a hate crime?
Here is another example of union thugs destroying a company. They have to pay for their own benefits and they want to force some one else to pay for it. So the company goes out of business. Stupid Union goons think this is a good thing.
The wireless side of the business is basically non-union. They are under the same name and general company but the reality is they really are like two different companies. This is why I don't get why they are picketing wireless stores. The wireless should have nothing to do with this strike.
I am no longer a part of Verizon (still in the industry with a different company). However I worked for Verizon back in 2000 during the last strike. I remember when we picketed there was a cop watching the whole time. We had to keep walking. If you stood still it was considered loitering and you could not picket in such a way as to block any entrance. I am just wondering where the cops are this time around???
When you shine the light on unions, they shrivel up and die. New media will be the end of the massive trade unions AND public sector unions. Their tactics, their willful disregard for decency and good behavior…all run contrary to the story they try to peddle. Old media embraced the concept of little guy vs. big corporation, turning their backs while union fat-cats and mobsters enjoyed the good life at the expense of the hard working men and women they were supposed to represent.
This is what is wrong with Europeans. They will use a child as a pawn in their game. Don't you want to be just like them?

There is an IBEW strike going on at the Verizon a few doors down from where I work, They are doing their best to block access to the facility. There were only like 10 of them.

Not yet, but, you can be sure they are distributing a list of names, addresses, phone numbers, names of spouses and children who will be subject to harassment/intimidation/violence/vandalism/etc.

They are picketing the wireless stores because of name recognition. Most people see "Verizon" and don't know that the two are separate.

Why is it that striking Unions are synonymous with violence and destruction? Isn't bullying supposed to be BAD? Most of us know that threatening people, vandalism and hitting someone is not civilized or legal.

I have a relative who is one of the strikers. You wouldn't believe the nonsense she and her union pals are posting on their Facebook pages. The gist of their ire is that the heads of the company have the audacity to make more money than they – basic class envy – and that they actually might have to pay a tiny portion of their health insurance premiums. They're all wearing red shirts like good little communists and making threats to "scabs." Disgusting.
Its obvious the Unions do. Then again, Unions have been doing these same shameless tactics for decades.

If anyone is dividing this country, it is the unions. As the unions continue to demand more and more at the cost of taxpayers, businesses, and workers. Then also the fact they are largely unproductive to.
The most likely outcome will be that the unions cause their own collapse as they continue to damage the markets and force businesses to either close or move to.

Letting her know that for the time being, in America you are free to start your own company and make payroll, pay corporate taxes and generally be a producer instead of a taker if being an employee at the good grace of your employer is such a terrible thing. Then she can have all of the profits.

My husband is a Verizon management employee. These people are not 'scabs'. They are heroes now working 12 hr days 7 days a week because these thuggish greedy union brats have thrown a fit when the company didn't just roll over and continue to over pay them for doing a sucky job.
These stories are just the tip of the iceberg. My husband told me several stories that happened to friends of his of union thugs blocking trucks and threatening replacement workers to the point where they had to dial 911 and get a police escort because they could not get out. But I guess we shouldn't be surprised as these losers all think the ends justify their violent and thuggish means.
I for one hope Verizon fires all of these people or lets the strike go on so long that they are begging for work when their union bosses sell them out for their own power and sole concern which is collecting dues.
Sorry to vent but this one is very personal for me.

Since you can't defend the indefensible (in this case, the IBEW knuckledragger's ab-use of his daughter, complete with four-letter-word-salad), imply that such confrontations are the result of your boogie men. The knuckledragger and his peers are, after all, not the ones dragging their children into their fight, and it's not the unionistas threatening management and "scabs" with "nooses." Funny story. I recently sat down to breakfast with my lovely wife, at a restaurant located in an area where she and I are considering buying property. My wife struck up a conversation with a couple at an adjacent table, to ask how they liked living in the area. They loved it, and advised that now is the time to buy, because the housing market, as depressed as it is, is particularly down in this particular area. When we asked why, the gentleman explained that unions had had such a stranglehold on the labor market, and made such outlandish demands, that employers could not compete internationally. Consequently, they either moved overseas, or went out of business. When we asked him the source of his insight, he informed us that he owned a firm which negotiated union labor contracts! QED.

Using under age children on a union picket line is not only blatant, but morally wrong. It goes against the grain of using child labor period. IMO, a low and poor choice by this union member.

Did anyone download a copy of that tape, it should be posted all over the internet until they can not get all of them off. I could care less if they have legitimate complaints or not, this is not the way to fight for what you want. Destroying equipment, Communicating a Threat, endangering the life of a minor are all chargeable offences and the President of the Locals are the ones to arrest unless the National has sent thugs down to do the dirty work, then they should be charged. Crossing the picket line is dangerous but with jobs as few as they are many will try. I hope they have their families protected because it sounds like the Union may well try to retaliate.

kent – I can relate to your story. I personally observed a large company that employed about 1,000 employees here in Phoenix. The employees had formed a strong union and placed huge demands on the company. A close friend was the manager of the Phoenix office. He tried for months to negotiate with the union, but they wouldn't budge on their demands. After a few more months, the company closed the office in Phoenix and moved the operation to India. All 1,000 of the employees were laid off.
And people wonder why companies are moving overseas?

I have a personal beef with AT & T in that I begged for their local office to check out my phone lines as I suspected that they were illegally wiretapped. And they were and they knew that to be a fact. Their attorney refused to do anything even as i swore that if they didn't come in and trace out the lines I would personally destroy the Box that housed all of the phone lines to the building I was in as it was in my office. All he did was threaten to sue me personally if i did. I did do some damage to it. And the lines were wiretapped . They never said a word.

I thought the same thing; but what can you do? It is what it is. Luckily my happiness is not reliant on the rating system, lol. Right now in my job I would say that negative rating is about right; since I work in the telecom industry (formally Verizon before being sold) and a member of IBEW.
I'm not anti-union for say. I just think a lot of there ideas are horribly outdated. The Union ideology was designed based on the industrial age thinking. If unions want to survive they first need to weed out the crazies (as in this video) by doing away with the whole seniority concept. Once a Union member gets past a certain point on the food chain of seniority they begin to see themselves as untouchable and because of that some develop this crazy god complex. I would be willing to bet this guy has been with the company awhile and/or has parents who were in a Union for a long time. believe me I see the pattern over and over again with the crazy union thugs and it's always time served or family history. If this guys daughter ends up working for a union I would bet she becomes one of the crazies. The other thing I think Unions should do is stop wasting so much money on political crap and use that money to set up a Union based training program for employees. Companies today can't afford to keep training people and find it easier to just hire new people that have the latest training out of college. I believe if unions focused on making their members the best trained then companies would want to hire/keep them and it would justify the extra pay/benefits. But this will never happen and my co-workers think I'm crazy. Ow well
There was a time when Unions did a LOT of good in this country; unfortunately, too many of them have become greedy, corrupt, and political arms of the Dem party. It is just one more part of the Dem machine that is killing jobs in this country!!
With the IBEW throwing their support behind the recall elections in Wisconsin, they looted their strike funds. I hope this strike goes on for a while because the unions have to pay the employees until a deal is reached. What would happen if the union doesn't have the funds to pay them? How will the employees accept the fact that their money, which guarantees them a salary in such circumstances, has been used to fund political operations? We need to send a message to unions (and blind members) that the dues they pay is for them, not the union. When we expose this truth, many union members will want a right to work environment that allows them to choose either to pay the dues or not.

I cancelled 4 months ago, not out of being unhappy but out of not having a use for the service. I am still getting bills in spite of going to the local shop and getting the bills cancelled and service cancelled again.
I'm not going to risk messing with them again.

There's rules against selling customer info. If someone did that they'd probably be fired.
Billing… sometimes they may get things mixed up, but that's not limited to ATT (I used to work for a competitor and they had billing issues too). Sometimes its a computer system issue, sometimes its a human error. But they should have been able to fix that for you. If you're still having issues, let me know and I'll see if I can reach out to the right people to fix it.
Besides that — for as long as there is good and evil there will be division.
