The UAW’s Mid-East Model? UAW’s King Recruits Global Activists to Assault Foreign Automakers
by LaborUnionReportDesperate times call for desperate measures, and the United Auto Workers’ Bob King thinks he’s just the union boss to make a go of it. With negotiations about to start with the Big Three American auto companies (two of which are UAW-owned), King is ramping up his rhetoric against the CEO of the only automaker that taxpayers did not bailout (Ford’s Mulally), while plotting his strategy for negotiations.
Meanwhile, claiming that he’s fighting for “social justice” and the entire American middle class (as opposed to just trying to save his otherwise failing union), sounding a lot like he is using the model being used to overthrow governments in the middle east, the UAW’s top boss is recruiting global activists to attack UAW-free foreign automakers.
If action is necessary, “we have a new strategy to organize them,” Williams said, which involves mobilizing members, retirees and allies “to expose violations of human rights.”
The efforts fall under the umbrella of the newly created Global Organizing Institute that is training the activists.
“It has the potential to be the largest, sustained consumer action by organized labor,” Williams said. “We have the resources and the people to be successful in this mission.”
In the United States, the Institute has put coordinators in each state to oversee recruits from university campuses and social organizations. An initial group of activists also has been recruited abroad in countries including China, India, Brazil, Japan and South Korea.
This coordinated effort will allow simultaneous protests at a company’s dealerships around the world to press for auto plant union organization in the U.S.
A second wave of eight interns from other countries is wrapping up a visit to the United States, where they interviewed workers at nonunion auto plants in Mississippi and Alabama.
When the UAW picks a company, these young international leaders say they will take action against the target, knowing they have UAW support.
In addition, alliances have been formed with unions in Germany, Japan and South Korea.
Of course, to King and his clan of foreign crusaders, a violator of “human rights” would be any foreign auto company that does not succumb to King’s extortionate version of a “fair election.”
According to another longtime union operative now with the UAW, this will be one of the largest progressive union putsches in the history of progressive union putsches:
The UAW has hired Richard Bensinger, the former head of the AFL-CIO’s organizing institute and a respected union tactician with more than 35 years of experience in labor-management battles in the private sector, to help coordinate the campaign against the union’s ultimate target.
“It will be the type of mobilization we’ve never done before,” Bensinger told the UAW bargaining convention in Detroit. He added that the union will also make extensive use of social and new media.
“We’re not going to make the mistake of just having a campaign in California and Texas,” he said.
Bensinger also said the campaign, which is reminiscent of the grape boycott in the late 1960s that led to the organization of the farm workers union, noted there has been a lot of skepticism about whether the UAW’s $60 million campaign could actually work.
However, the transnational autoworkers will have to gamble with their international reputations in fast-growing markets such as Brazil, where it is working on having the country’s former president, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, to endorse the boycott, Bensinger said.
So far, King says, he hasn’t chosen a target yet.
UAW President Bob King said he thought a target would have already emerged by now but continuing talks with workers show there is no cause to launch a campaign yet.
It could be because King may be finding out from the UAW-free employees that, despite his desperate vision of global persuasion, to the employees, UAW really means Union Ain’t Wanted.

Unions have turned into tyrannical Dictators. As if we needed another reason to dismantle them!
What if we boycott buying their products. Can't these idiot union workers see they are cutting their own throats. Oh what am I saying, by the looks of union workers they already come from the bottom of the chain. Damn zoombies.
Great … if finding products without a "Made in China" (or PRC) was a chore, now it seems about time to avoid "Union Made".
In the 20th century, the menace was communism – the 21st century version is 'comm∘union∘ism'.
I will pay cash $ for the 1st video of King's "human rights" operatives trying to stage a protest in China. You don't need a fortune cookie to know how that will end….
What is Ellot Carlin from the Bob Newhart show doing at the podiom?

I have ALWAYS been a Chevy Guy. I would have NEVER considered a Ford or Toyota before the Obamanation of our Country.
After what the Unions have done I will NEVER buy another GM product and will be 100% a Ford, Toyota or BMW owner.
Looking to buy the Toyota Avalon as our next car.
Screw Obama, The Dumbocrats and most of all the Anti-American Unions.
I find it amazing how it still doesn't occur to those idiots that the majority of Americans label them Marxists everytime they spew out the phrase "Social Justice".
ps – Buy a Ford (;-)
I was thinking along the same line. Good luck there with the People Republic of China, UAW.
May King FAIL. And may the autoworkers at FORD stay smart …otherwise they will have NO Job.
The UAW is red….and Social Justice is a buzz word for a progressive/commie cause….but when "useful idiots" hear those words their eyes glaze over and all they can drone is Social Justice….Equality….Take from the Rich.
This is turning into a world wide movement of commies right in front of us. I truly am amazed how fast this is happening and how they are finally coming out into the light.
Lots of folks joked that cockroaches would inherit the world….well folks, unless you have your cans of bug spray ready these cockroaches will do just that.
And this is exactly why I own a 2008 Hyundai. Better warranty, better workmanship and a higher quality vehicle.
Ford is the best truck or car made today!!!!
Markets always win, no matter how the socialist try to twist them about.
American manufacturing is a no win business. If the greenies don't get you the unions will. We need to get rid of them both, get rid of silly EPA and trade regulations, and let our nation once again be the economic leader it was meant to be!
Im sorry I missed this, when did the UAW start acting like SEIU?
Union workers cmon is this you? Is this who yo are? You can put a stop to this stop paying your dues in protest. Time has come to end unions. Hold on dont get your panties in a bunch. What should be done is take all the good unions have done and some good ideas on the drawing board and come up with new legislation that applies across the nation. Turn their GOOD actions into law, by doing that unions wont be needed anymore, heck if need be create a new amendment!
Something needs to be done to stop them thats for sure they are way ou from their original mission statement to now protest non union automakers in other countries! Newsflash they are not on US soil and some are pvt companies they have a right to operate anyway they want. Now if they are using slave labor then publicize it and let the world know. It will then come to the consumer to make a decision who they want to buy from.
If you are reading this you are the resistance… http://www.savingtherepublic.com
Well I already knew I was never buying a GM or Chrysler product again. This confirms it.
Who wants a commie car? They're unreliable and you never know what's wrong with them because they lie too.
.
The war to turn America into a totally socialist country or to save it from becoming one is clearly on. Socialists by their very nature are weak as individuals, group together, and then coerce others into their ranks. Conservative people pretty much tend to their own business and expect others to do the same. We cannot let that basic strength become our failing. Conservative people across the spectrum need to come together and speak as one or we will lose.
Huge boycotts? Communists' mouths constantly write checks their asses can't cash. Remember how the socialists spent weeks last fall blatting that the Restoring Sanity and/or Fear Rally was going to be the next Million Man March? They barely got into five figures with that crowd. And let's give two cheers for the rousing success that is Air America (/sarc) !
Just remember: The 92 percent of us who aren't in unions can drive these Communist fronts into the ground by boycotting Government Motors* products much faster than they'll succeed in organizing the other automakers. When their chief source of revenue – autoworker union dues – dries up after after Government Motors* sinks beneath the waves for the last time, these Communists won't have anywhere near $60 million to play with.
* Government Motors = both GM and "Chrysler Group LLC," a division of Fiat SpA.
The issue is they will turn rabid as they fail, causing much strife in my opinion. They need to be put down as quickly as possible to minimize the potential for violence.
Always remember, when Union Progressives/Socialists get desperate, they think nothing of throwing each other into the fire, or shark tank. The end goal is more important than an individual!!!
"The issue is they will turn rabid as they fail, causing much strife in my opinion."
That's already begun.

F-150 w/ 150K and still going strong.
Only buying Fords. <— Notice the punctuation.
Isn't this a dream I had?
WASHINGTON, D.C. – President Barack Obama had to try a couple of doors at the White House before finally gaining access to the Oval Office on Wednesday.
Returning from a five-day trip to Latin America, video shows the president strolling up to french doors at the White House and trying the handle on a locked door. He appeared to be whistling as he made his way down to another set of doors that were open.
I say buy a Ford, reward the Ford company for their good choices. Punish the GM brand for their poor choices.
That is called Free Market flow. Practicing free market solutions (we do not need laws to make free market choices as individuals) will remove the UAW from their power slot.
I say buy a Ford. Send a signal.
Unjust
And
Worthless
Amen!
I ALWAYS SAY LOOK FOR THE UNION LABEL AND PUT IT BACK. But thanks to their unreasonable demands there aren't many union made products left. No it's when you go into a government office and get treated with contempt by the idiot you're interrupting on the phone or texting that your seeing todays example of Union security.
The Union leaders have brainwashed their members into believing it is about all this crap he spews, when we all know in reality, it is ONLY about dues being extorted to be turned into Democratic political campaigns, which then turns into favors for Unions to further a Marxist agenda.
This is their death knell, it's why they were exposed this week on Beck as trying to collapse the banking industry…………it's their last shot.
No Harry,
Thats a dream WE have
Then the Communists come along and finish off the ones who worked hardest to help them gain power

"The basis of our political system is the right of the people to make and to alter their constitutions of government." George Washington
Best car ever made by a tyrannt is the Volkswagen. Screw the rest. If you buy a G.M. now the Commies in Washington think we're cool with them.NOT
The country needs a national RIGHT TO WORK LAW, the Republicans need to take over the Senate and the White House and we need to demand the pass a "National Right to Work Law". No more forced union dues. No more open elections for unions. Unions would have to re certify every year so people could get rid of unions the no longer want. Unions should have to stand or fall on their own devices, they should not be allowed to dictate to workers how they must behave!
Shut down the pro union National Labor Relations Board! It is not looking out for the welfare of labor. They are only promoting unions!
Real quick point, this is a Country by THE PEOPLE, FOR THE PEOPLE, it's OUR country, why are we asking permission to do things that would get our ecomomy back on the road to true recovery instead of watching this enemy strangle America to death? We are approaching a point of no return when nothing can bring us out of this nose dive. Sometimes you just gotta not ask permission and do something.
Yeah retief,
When I was growing up INCEST was wrong, but these democrats got me confused.
Unions, and Democrats.
These democrat unionists are commie tyrants. Their only problem with the gestapo was that they weren't unionized.
"…we have a new strategy to organize them."
No you don't, you lying little weasel. It's Cloward/ Priven all the way.
There is nothing new about any of this BS you UNION thugz are pulling on us.
Brought to us by our Chief Community Organizer in Chief.
whoa, that's a mouthful.
Knowing what they are planning, any company associated with these UAW thugs should declare bankruptcy, and reorganize without the union. They need the dues they steal from the members to attack America from overseas. Throw out all Government funded unions, starting with the teachers and bailed-out Auto unions. Give GM back to the shareholders, without any union contract.

We HAVE been "boycutting" their products. That's why GM and Chrysler cratered and why the unions now own a large part of them. Big deal. A majority interest in a failing company is worth just about zero.
We traded in our older car for a new one… We traded a 2008 Subaru WRX for… a 2011 Subaru Forester. LOL.
i agree, and will be out looking at new Ford pick-up trucks this weekend.
I'll never buy a Government Motors anything!
Welcome home loser………………..
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/ushome/index.html
The Gestapo were Nazified! That is "unionized" under National Socialism to where the party and union are one! It's Organized , Radicalized Labor….Gestapo, or UAW.
It appears the UAW is having problems INTERNALLY keeping people in step, in line..on the same page! Leftists then look to some big unifying struggle, and external challenge they mark out and then, "EVERYBODY GET'S BEHIND THIS" booms a voice from the PA system's speakers on all the dingy walls.
The BIGGER problem is external! All of us see what you're all up to in there, UAW.You can't win a "class struggle", real or imagined, with a low class act.
As a kid growing up in a proud union home I never would have believed I'd see the day when UNION=LOONYTOON.
They know they are marxists and wear it like a badge! What they consistently miss is the fact that nobody wants their backa** way here in America.
Great points for all us to remember! I say let 'em spend all their cash on their idiotic rants, there is no price tag for making a complete fool of yourself ~
Scum. Their day of reckoning is coming…
I remember the 80s when the UAW pursued Union only parts and content Then began unionizing the cheap overseas parts suppliers that broke the unions back here. The Rank and file beter wise up the union worker overseas making 5 dollars a day to pay a dollar a day in union dues instead of the 4 dollars a day hes making now will still under bid him.
The UAW is going to screw Ford, which they don't own part of! On principle, I will NEVER EVER buy a GM or Chrysler!
If you EVER wondered why the Founders included the Second Amendment (why was it an "amendment" in the first place?) THIS is it…
Know what this is? See it for the danger it represents? This is International Communism in as naked a form as you are likely to see it on display.
“we have a new strategy to organize them”
"This coordinated effort will allow simultaneous protests at a company’s dealerships around the world"
"When the UAW
picksTARGETS a company, these young international leaders say they will take action against the target"These "people" are nothing more than a gang of thugs bent on DEMANDING some unearned benefit for themselves – at gun point – from YOU. F*ck them… I work for a living… I have to EARN your business in an environment of free and fair competition… These are VICIOUS ANIMALS who believe that by the "virtue" of their very existence YOU OWE THEM. Break them hard, and the future will be a better place…
Make no mistake – "Communism", Statism, socialism and any and ALL forms of COLLECTIVISM will NEVER die…
"But you must remember, my fellow-citizens, that eternal vigilance by the people is the price of liberty, and that you must pay the price if you wish to secure the blessing. It behooves you, therefore, to be watchful in your States as well as in the Federal Government." – Andrew Jackson, Farewell Address, March 4, 1837
"It is weakness rather than wickedness which renders men unfit to be trusted with unlimited power." – John Adams, 1788
"The greatest tyrannies are always perpetrated in the name of the noblest causes." – Thomas Paine
"No man is entitled to the blessings of freedom unless he be vigilant in its preservation." – General Douglas MacArthur
"The battle, sir, is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave." – Patrick Henry
"The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the Constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first." – Thomas Jefferson
"The greatest threat to mankind and civilization is the spread of the totalitarian philosophy. Its best ally is not the devotion of its followers but the confusion of its enemies. To fight it, we must understand it." – Ayn Rand
"Live free or die." – Gen. John Stark
That last one is so prescient, for what is living death but abject misery in the "service" of "others"?
You are so right GF, this hydra will never die – guess it's our turn to beat the monster back into submission –
What are you still doing up??! I have MEtv going, Perry Mason just ended
Heh heh! Hydra is right! Eternal vigilance is necessary. It will never die willingly.
Up so late? Mistaken on my part… Shoulda gone to bed hours ago… What do I know???
Catch ya soon… ;^)
ps – Buy a Ford (;-)
You know it.
Other than an '85 Toyota 4×4 PU I bought new (and still love that truck) nothing but Mustangs (6) and F-150's(4).
GM or Chrysler product
Never have, never will.
I've never bought a car from a company in bed with unions and I never will. I'd really, really like to support Ford right about now, but this won't ever happen while they have the UAW in house. Unions are the scourge of our country and like I always have, I'll go many miles out of my way to avoid helping any industry with union scum attached.
The unions, just when I think my thoughts of them cannot get any lower, they outdo themselves yet again.
That would mean the Republicans would not be a bunch of RINOs… perhaps next year. We are so screwed.
He is hardly ever there… who would have expected him? Not like most people with those jobs that have 2 week vacations (if your lucky) per year.
and you Marxist idiots can not see the threat to Israel's survival……
Like the government and spending, let them go out on strike and STAY THERE. When the auto companies go down in flames, they can restructure WITHOUT the marxist unions. Problem solved, but riots begin. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted! Like Rome, we seem to be under assault both outside and inside the gates! Stock up on everything, it's gonna' get exciting!
Like the popular girl who can't believe the quarterback is going to the prom with the "un"popular girl: "She must be extorting him."
The only way other car manufactures can put out a better product, at a lower market price is by abusing their employees. It simply HAS to be human rights violations.
Here's my two cents. I bought Ford stock and if Ford doesn't take a strong stance in future negotiations with the UAW I'll sell it. It's not a lot but if enough people do it then well, after a while it adds up. I'm not too worried about progressives boycotting anything because they don't really stand for anything. And the fact is that a good portion of these folks who do the protesting and ranting haven't got two nickels to rub together to buy a car anyway. Go ahead and protest you progressive boneheads, then get back into your Mom's Kia station wagon, go home to your house, put on your tinfoil hat and sequester yourself in the basement with your copy of Rules for Radicals like a good Marxist.
Communists won't hesitate to eat their own, or to flush them..
King and his UAW elk are going to strike Ford Motor Company this time around and using "pattern agreements", the UAW hopes to get/swindle/extort concessions out of Fords and then take these concessions to GM (Obama Motors and with His backing) and to Chrysler. Bet? We need to support Ford and hope they "stock-pile all the parts needed to sustain a long term strike which would hurt the UAW and their extortions. One word to Fords……………….start the stockpiling and we will support you with a vehicle pruchase if the UAW strikes you!

The unions will either destroy it or take it over so…just
Shut your business down before letting it be unionized.
