CWA Union Boss Says Tea Party Advocates ‘Slavery’
by LaborUnionReportJust when you thought the left-wing race baiting over the last year couldn’t get any worse, the Communications Workers of America chief honcho Larry Cohen has sunk to new depths attacking those who do not agree with his socialist agenda.
On Wednesday, the NAACP, in continuing its unfounded “racist” accusations of the Tea Party movement, had a conference call on which the CWA President participated.
According to Big Journalism writer Niger Innis, after the NAACP’s Ben Jealous continued his normal the-tea-parties-are-racist-harangue, his little buddy at the CWA threw the rhetorical grenade out on the call:
The most illuminating part of the call came when “progressive” ally, Larry Cohen of the CWA (Communication Workers of America) revealed the real agenda of the attacks on the Tea Party by the Left, “We disagree with the agenda of the tea party Movement… They advocate slavery,” and this classic gem, “We don’t need 19th century capitalism.”
The Washington Post’s Dana Milibank also wrote about the conference call:
On the conference call, Communications Workers of America President Larry Cohen tried to make the case that the Tea Party’s economic policies, too, are evidence of “hate” in the ranks. “It’s an economic agenda that is hateful against workers,” he reasoned. “Most of the proponents that we’re talking about in this report also renounce things like minimum wage and collective bargaining rights…. Whether it’s glorifying slavery or glorifying a managerial system where workers have no voice, the Tea Party is a throwback.”
Slavery? Really, Larry?
For a union that advocates effectively removing workers’ right to vote on unionization, as well as locking employees into contracts without their ability to vote or retaining their right to strike (see Employee Anti-Choice Act); for a union that enjoys laws that force workers to money to the union or be fired from their jobs; for a union that has threatened and fined members for exercising their freedom to continue to working during strikes; for a union that has had one of its own local officers allegedly encourage beating members —saying that the tea parties want slavery is a little hypocritical isn’t it, Larry?
Do you really want to open this can of worms, Larry?

A clerical worker who crossed the picket line during last year’s strike at the Summit County, Ohio, Children Serv. Bd. (CSB) has been found guilty in a union trial and fined $27,496.65. Almondine Poole is one of 38 crossers who stood trial over the past two Saturdays. All the defendants have been found guilty and fines range from $3,000 to $39,000, based on salary and overtime earned during the five-month strike.
Larry, if you really believe the the tea party’s are advocating slavery (as you allege), what is it that you’re advocating?

Union thugs and the DNC, now the common way to rig the elections
There are various allegations of possible voter fraud across the country, against DNC, but nowhere does there seem to be a more unusual case than in Troy, New York.
A special prosecutor investigating allegations of voter fraud, Trey Smith, is collecting DNA from the majority of the city council…all Democrats. Five city councilmen, including the council president, as well as four other city and county public officials and political operatives, have been ordered to or have had their saliva swabbed for DNA samples to compare to absentee ballots and absentee ballot applications that were allegedly forged.
The investigation centers on what has been called "a massive voter fraud scheme," that involved absentee ballots for the Working Families Party, in September 2009. It has been alleged that Democrats tried to steal the primary election for city council and county legislature, by forging absentee ballots and ballot applications to ensure that their candidates also won the Working Families Party primary line.
'No comment," is what Democratic Council member Gary Galuski told us, as well as several other public officials who are under investigation.
But some were willing to talk about the scandal.
Democratic Councilman Michael LoPorto, who owns a popular restaurant, told Fox News he had "nothing to say," but denied any wrongdoing when we questioned him further.
"Did you do anything wrong?" we asked.
"No."
"Did you try to steal an election?"
"No."
"Did you forge any ballots?"
"No," LoPorto answered, when we interviewed him on the street before the start of this month's city council meeting.
A Working Families Party worker, Sarah Couch, who is not named in the investigation, has told state police investigators that LoPorto gave her what she believed were about 30 absentee ballots wrapped in a newspaper. But when the story broke last year, she says another councilman asked her to issue a Working Families Party press release that would "point blame at the Republican Party," and she refused to do so. At a meeting to discuss the scandal, she says one Democratic official started it by saying, "I want to make sure that this conversation isn't being recorded. Does anyone have any type of recording device?" He added, "…this is really, really bad and it needs to go away."
One of the others who allegedly gathered absentee ballot applications, former Troy Housing worker and Democratic Committeeman Anthony DeFiglio, told the state police about the unsuspecting voters. He said that "it was common knowledge that these people were never going to receive an absentee ballot. This is a political strategy to get control of a third party line."
DeFiglio claimed to investigators that the practice is "an ongoing scheme, and it occurs on both sides of the aisle. The people who are targeted live in low income housing and there is a sense that they are a lot less likely to ask any questions at a later date." He also said "what appears as a huge conspiracy to non-political persons, is really a normal political tactic that went out of control."
When the story first broke last year, numerous affidavits from voters said their applications were forged, including the reasons why they supposedly couldn't show up at the polls in person. Two of the applications cited a "bus trip to casino," as the reasons they could not vote. Those voters said the excuse, like others, was made up by someone else.
Jessica Boomhower told us her ballot application was faked, falsely saying she was attending a work conference in Boston. She told us she did not cast a ballot, even though there was one in her name submitted to the Board of Elections.
"I can't believe they thought they would get away with this," she told us. "They said they would make it easier for me to vote. That's not what happened…They decided they would vote for us," she explained, saying, "I am sure this goes on a lot in politics and it is very rare when they do get caught."
Brian Suozzo's absentee application said he was at home, recovering from a medical procedure. He also told us that was not true and he did not cast an absentee ballot, even though one was submitted in his name also.
"I never signed a thing," Suozzo told us. "You always hear about this stuff on the news, but to have it happen to me…that someone took my signature and voted with it, I feel extremely violated."

Public unions must be abolished. The government is not a repressive employer. government wages average twice the private sector and benefits are out of control. The unions have too much power and influence and need to be restricted to the private sector.
This Union represents Telephone Company employees, some jobs in Hollywood and Healthcare. I am sad to say I paid dues to them for 20 plus years and was a Steward as well as on several Committees. It got worse over time and I did not shed a single tear when I was able to stop. This is a very rotten and corrupt union.

Unions vowed that their striking workers would keep disrupting operating room and basic health services until their demands are met. Anyone caught crossing the strike line to aid the sick and weary are subject to CWA Court fines and punishments not to exceed $27,000 or 10 years of blacklisted unemployment….

i was a teamster,my father was a teamster,the bosses take your dues to cover their high life styles but will throw you under a bus if they get a deal from management,they even beat my father out of burial benefitswhen he died,claiming the pensions,etc. were revised???the main issue to put all into perspective is union workers and their bosses couldnt give a rats ass about the commeners(average hard working non union people)who have to tighten their belts and,begrudge their kids in order to keep the greedy unions(obamas babies)and other groups comfortable,inlight of g.m. workers(75/hr counting benefits) and arrogance even after we (taxpayers) saved their jobs and all unemployed people out there we should put regular people in these jobs if they strike like regan did with arrogant air traffic controllers,many would be happy with much less money allowing companies to hire more workers a win win,let the greedy go to france with their fellow workers rioting..

I think the reference is to the decades after the civil war, when big factories began to spring up and there were no child labor or worker protection laws…and the union movement first started to gain hold in America.
Unions should be outlawed. When did we decide it was a good idea to have outsiders come into a business, force workers to pay to join whether they like it or not, and tell the owners of the company how they will be allowed to conduct their business? If I'm not happy with my pay or working conditions I march into the bosses office and discuss it. If I'm still not happy then I turn in my resignation and go elsewhere. I don't see how the unions of today are any different from the hay days of organized crime when union bosses ruled through threats and intimidation at the end of a base ball bat.
They damn well better be banned by the Republican Party in participating in any Presidential debates in 2012 because of their blatant McCarthyism.
