Union-Backed Democrats Take Aim at Bloggers, Tea Party Activists and NRA Members
by LaborUnionReportLast year, when Tea Party activists almost derailed ObamaCare, the White House and its comrades in the House of Labor knew they had to somehow neutralize Americans who voiced opposition to their agenda. Ever since President Obama dispatched his soldiers to take on concerned Americans at townhall meetings last year, unions have tried to downplay their culpability in targeting tea party activists. But the targeting has not stopped. In fact, it seems like a new assault takes place every month.

In February, the union campaign against the Tea Party movement was publicly exposed. In fact, the union-backed website TheTeaPartyisOver.org openly states that “Patriot Majority is also putting together a tracking program of Tea Party activity nationwide to monitor outbreaks of actual violence, threats of violence or other types of extremism.” [Emphasis added.]
In March, Teamster boss James P. Hoffa took aim at Tea Party activists accusing them of being ‘manipulated’ and ‘misdirected.’
In April, Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) introduced a bill that eviscerates the First Amendment called the DISCLOSE Act. The DISCLOSE Act is another attempt by the union-controlled Democrat Party to shill for its big union bosses.
As Rep. Tom Price (R-GA) noted here on Big Government, ”the White House and their allies on Capitol Hill see honest criticism as a threat to forcing their big government, liberal agenda through Congress.” While the DISCLOSE Act provides exemptions for traditional news media, Reason’s Bradley Smith and Jeffrey Patch point out:
The bill, however, would radically redefine how the FEC regulates political commentary. A section of the DISCLOSE Act would exempt traditional media outlets from coordination regulations, but the exemption does not include bloggers, only “a communication appearing in a news story, commentary, or editorial distributed through the facilities of any broadcasting station, newspaper, magazine or other periodical publication…” [Emphasis added.]
Moreover, the DISCLOSE Act apparently exempts labor unions. According to the GOP’s Committee on House Administration:
Despite their public claims that the bill is simply about disclosure and that the provisions will treat unions and corporations equally, the legislation headed to the House Floor for consideration includes provisions that exempt unions while placing cumbersome, unconstitutional requirements on corporations that reach far beyond disclosure. [Emphasis added.]
Also in May, New Jersey’s union-backed politicians introduced a bill that would, according to the National Rifle Association, “require certain contributors to ‘issue advocacy organizations’, including the NRA, to have their names, addresses and their employers information sent to the government.”
The bill (which you can read here) is sponsored by following union-backed Democrats:
- Democrat assemblywoman Linda Greenstein (who collected over $52,000 in union contributions in 2009)
- Democrat assemblyman Wayne DeAngelo (an Asst. Business Manager for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers who also collected $54,000 in union donations in 2009)
- Democrat assemblywoman Annette Quijano (who collected over $24,000 in union contributions in 2009).
- Democrat Assemblyman Ralph Caputo (who collected nearly $11,000 in union contributions in 2009).
- Democrat Assemblyman Paul Moriarty (who collected over $26,000 in union contributions in 2009)
While the entire bill is seemingly intended at gutting New Jerseyans’ Freedom of Speech, the particularly onerous portions are of this bill are here:
The term “issue advocacy organization” means an organization organized under section 527 of the federal Internal Revenue Code (26 U.S.C. s.527) or under paragraphs (3) or (4) of subsection c. of section 501 of the federal Internal Revenue Code (26 U.S.C. s.501), that does not fall within the definition of any other committee subject to the provisions of P.L.1973, c.83 (C.19:44A-1 et seq.), that engages in influencing or attempting to influence the outcome of any election or the selection, nomination, or election of any person to any State or local elective public office, or the passage or defeat of any public question, or in providing political information on any candidate or public question, and raises or expends $2,100. or more for any such purpose, but does not coordinate its activities with any candidate or political party.
And here:
The cumulative report, except as hereinafter provided, shall contain the name and mailing address of each person or group from whom moneys, loans, paid personal services or other things of value have been contributed since 48 hours preceding the date on which the previous such report was made and the amount contributed by each person or group, and where the contributor is an individual, the report shall indicate the occupation of the individual and the name and mailing address of the individual’s employer.
The cumulative quarterly report shall contain the name and mailing address of each person or group from whom moneys, loans, paid personal services or other things of value have been contributed and the amount contributed by each person or group, and where an individual has made such contributions, the report shall indicate the occupation of the individual and the name and mailing address of the individual’s employer. In the case of any loan reported pursuant to this subsection, the report shall contain the name and address of each person who cosigns such loan, and where an individual has cosigned such loans, the report shall indicate the occupation of the individual and the name and mailing address of the individual’s employer.
Presumably, the aforementioned reports would also be public information.
So, let’s say a Tea Party activist (or an NRA member*) who works down at the loading docks makes a donation to defeat a successor bill to Assembly Bill 2595, his information and that of his employer’s name becomes open to all eyes…including that of his “friendly” Teamster business agent.
While the general assumption may be that New Jersey’s new governor Chris Christie would veto such a direct threat aimed at individual freedoms, his position on this bill remains unclear (so far).
Unfortunately, at the rate of at least one assault on freedom per month, union-backed Democrats still have four and a half more months until November 2nd to try to take away the freedoms of their opponents.

"Unfortunately, at the rate of at least one assault on freedom per month, union-backed Democrats still have four and a half more months until November 2nd to try to take away the freedoms of their opponents."
Nov 2nd is the BEGINNING of when they get dangerous, not the END. This country's greatest danger lies in what Congress will try to do between Nov 3rd and Jan 19th. We The People will have lost all control over these lame ducks, who will have nothing left to lose and no voter backlash left to fear…
This is a clash that we must have. We ( the Tea Party) are forcing politicians to take a position, showing us exactly who they are. The feckless RNC, with our help, must not let these statist hide in the middle, make them be proud liberals, we’ll see how that works out for them…soon!
You know things are really bad when union backed federal employees make $12 an hour MORE than anyone in the private sector!! ALL of these unions need to be outlawed!! NOW!!
I agree! They should all be outlawed, and the sooner the better!
take aim at the NRA at your own risk….they can shoot back.
Excellent point.
Thus:
Surprise! Surprise!–Gomer Pyle
Note to self, make donation to NRA today.
You are correct, the lame duck session is very dangerous. I only have a minor quibble.
Per the 20th Amendment, Section 2, "The Congress shall assemble at least once in every year, and such meeting shall begin at noon, on the 3rd day of January, unless they shall by law appoint a different day."
Not that Congress pays much fidelity to the Constitution, but that bought us a few days anyway.
We need to shake the fence and see which side they fall on.
To be truthful with you, that has been bothering me too.
We may have to physically stop them. And then the shooting part of the revolution. They will not allow this to happen voluntarily. I had hoped it could be different but it won't be. as N.H. says "LIVE FREE OR DIE"
Off Topic, latest letter:
To the Editor:
Mr. Geller and Mr. Sorrel; thank you very much for your responses to my letter demonstrating Representative Halls wider failure to his constituents, please pardon me though, I am slightly confused. Maybe the two of you can clarify my thoughts. Are we discussing the same Mr. John Hall? Apparently when President Bush was serving as our Commander in Chief, John Hall and his fellow Democrats, sought on numerous occasions to minimize and legislatively obstruct funding for our troops. Now that President Obama is trying to get up to speed in that capacity, Representative Hall is johnny on the spot with what ever our war fighters may need, so long as Mr. Obama keeps his promise of retreat in 2011. In our next exchange please advise if you are defending the John Hall who voted against the war, but for the troops, or the one that voted for the troops, but against the war?
Do the both of you understand the gravity of our fiscal situation on a national as well as a State level? Do you understand that tax receipts are being front loaded now to avoid increases after the “Bush Tax Cuts” expire? Do you understand that a promise from Uncle Sam is worthless unless a real person and/or good can get there in time, at the right quantity, and price, to meet that promise? Do you understand that wars fought without clear objectives and goals end in nightmares? Do you understand that Mr. Obama has stopped production on the F-22, a tried and true airplane, as the F-35 “jack-of-all-trades-master-at-none” is now over budget and according to Aviation Weekly not met it’s primary testing goals after billions expended. Do you understand that we are using millions in men and material against an enemy that can replenish its men and supplies at a fraction of our cost without using its MasterCard? Do you understand what happens when governments do not keep their promises as opposed to private citizens? This one I’ll answer. War. When masses of people are promised goods and services, and those promises are not kept, they begin to go beyond the entitlement mentality, and proceed to the demand mentality. Greece is a great example, but I can quote you the history of France and Germany if you like. Mr. Geller, you and my grandfather did not go to war because of Hitler or Togo, you went to war because economic systems broke down, and one side decided it was easier to steal and kill for what was needed rather than to work for it.
I know I live on a different mental plane then my Liberal Democratic friends, but at some point even the both of you will come to understand that I am mostly right, and you are mostly wrong. I appreciate all of your criticism, even the attacks, as a student at XXXXXXX and later in college, I never let those who bullied me or those who claimed I would not amount to much bother me, nor will I now. I will do now, what I did then, what I hope all Americans do in the coming months and years, from whatever political stripe, persevere. To do otherwise would betray all those countless Americans who suffered so we could live in a place where the bell of freedom still rings it’s sweet song.
Respectfully,
We will destroy the Oppressors! Our eyes are open. Thank God for blogs like this where we can systematically alert one another of the plans of the oppressors. Fore knowledge is powerful. Finally, WE OUTNUMBER THEM!
I say, give it your best shot chumps. There are too many copies of the Constitution to burn them all up. There are too many of us that will NOT "go gently into that dark night"!
When cowards pick a fight for the wrong reasons, then they've already lost.
You lose.
"Publicly exposed?" Unions don't like you hypocrites and have not hesitated to let you know this practically on a daily basis. "Publicly exposed"? Wow…what effective spies you are. If you fact checked some of the bullsh#t these merchants of cowards spoon fed you everyday, you might know this by now.
You have only 2 candidates that won primaries and none that one any elections of significance. Hello?
Give it up junior. Wanna visit the type of paradise your dear leader is planning, I can book you a room at the Venezuela Inn and Suites.
Hypocrites? Explain.
We win primaries, There are no small victories, just petty losers.
Sorry, the 19th is the day before the President is sworn in, not Congress. My mistake.
"Unions don't like you hypocrites" "some of the bullsh#t these merchants of cowards spoon fed you everyday"
LOLOLOLOL!
Thanks for the guffaw, unintentional as it may have been. I suppose next you'll be telling us that unions are the only thing separating the middle class from toiling in Dickensian "satanic mills," right?
Stick your organized-crime extortion rackets where the sun don't shine, bub.
But you guys have Alvin Greene! Yep, you sure got us beat!
I got a bad feeling at the first Town Hall Meeting, last summer, with Frank Pallone in NJ! I had naively thought of this as a FREE, HONEST & open American Town Hall meeting, UNTIL—These comrade lackeys, with clipboards! kept running up and down the lines telling us what to do! To be quiet, etc.– but the most Startling thing was when we finally got inside,
(3rd angry Group) and they "HERDED" US toward this gigantic book and directed us to "SIGN IN" WHAT? Name, address, tel, email. WHAT??
That's when the Freedem loving American inside of me instantly backed up & said to myself "NO!" I quietly turned to our group of 7 people & I said "I'm NOT signing that book. I just walked past it into the auditorium. My new friends did the same, BUT, MOST people signed in! The meeting itself was patronizing & frustrating as you all know.
He said "I haven't read the HealthCareBill, only the pages that "I WROTE"
We found out later that Dems &Unions said they know who we were, and where we live! My instincts were right!Added to what we know now, – DEMS & UNIONS HAVE BECOME OPPRESSIVE AND MUST BE SHUT DOWN!
It is abundantly clear that the UNIONS have declared war on the tax payers of this republic. Even moreso the importance of the SCOTUS decision in the citizens united case.
UNIONS know that they are in a fight for their livliehoods and are grossly overplaying their hand.
UNIONS only represent about 15% of this country and we need to stop this tyranny of the minority from destroying the country.
In every election at every level of federal and state governments "LOOK FOR THE UNION LABEL"
The SILENT MAJORITY needs to SILENT NO MORE
Quelle surprise!
. . . . "The SILENT MAJORITY needs to SILENT NO MORE"
Well bloodly said!
This just shows one of the weapons in the arsenal of the "peaceful" left and how it works, intimidation.
Sure, only a gullible fool will believe that the "friendly" union business agent or other union official will simply ignore the fact that a member donated or belongs to a group that the union sees as unfriendly to the union or its causes. That person will be heavily monitored and harassed by the union and probably even lose their job for not towing the union line.
I am from a union stronghold area and this type of behavior of unions is extremely common.
In response to the footnote. I am a lifetime member of the NRA. I joined on September 11, 2001 along with a 30 or so others at my local rifle and pistol shop, on that day we thought it was just the beginning of something far worse. I had been lulled into a false sense of security, I know now what a pistol would have done to protect our nations citizens and treasure. Never again will I succumb to the wicked lie of liberalism. Had I known that day was in our future I would have joined the Air Force after I graduated from high school. Big mistake on my part. No more mistakes for this American.
Hey, no problem! Maybe God will send us a blinding blizzard before the lame duck Congress goes back in session and shuts down DC until Xmas, at least.
January 20, 2009 – A day that shall live in infamy!
Okay, lets get this clear. You say unions dont like hypocrits, yet they support the biggest hypocrits in human existance. On top of that, all unions do is demand more and more, yet give nothing in return, so they end up being a big waste of money to the people and the states. Then there is the thuging they are doing at political events, and all the special deals they get with almost every bill passed lately.
If you think about (dont know if you can), the biggest hypocrits are not just the politicians, but also the unions themselves. Just helping you with the obvious here.
You know when I want to tell somebody they are wrong, I give them information showing them why. Your post is a typical rant with no facts to backup your claim, which is all I usually ever see from liberal posters. You want to prove a point? Show us why your opinion is the right one. Give some credibility to your rant. Right now your post is pointless. All it does is give people an open to bash you, and rightfully so.
I posted yesterday and heard on the news this morning, Insane Hussein is asking for $50 billion more dollars for the teachers, firefighters and policemen but we know it's for the unions. They dumped $10 million in the primaries for their candidate and now want more money from us.

I think that's why they want to shut down the internet so much. This is the last venue for freedom loving Americans to get informed with the truth and to spread alerts.
My husband bought me my first handgun last month for our anniversary. We had been looking around casually for a while now. We decided to buy one the day we saw the Greece riots because we are concerned that unrest could happen in America soon.
I think it's time to re-up my NRA membership.
And, Chuckie, pass all the unconstitutional free speech abridgment laws you want, we won't obey `em.
Exactly, Stan!
TAKE YOUR BEST SHOT, DINOSAURS!
From where I sit I see more states….especially where the unions are causing the most harm in EDUCATION budgets (talk about spending more and getting less) re-introducing and passing "open shop" laws.
Bye Bye, T-Rex lite. You're over.
Liberal/Democrat/Progressive assault manual: "How to assault a college kid"!

Can?
)))))))))))))))
Well done Larry. They have chosen the wrong group to try to oppress! We do OUT-NUMBER them by MANY MILLIONS!
I want to ask, though — would complaining about it here make any difference? How many actually read this site?
You've taken your first step to responsible fire arms ownership. Do not let it be your last. Practice all aspects of safe handling and securing your pistol when it is not under your direct control. Never let it fall to the wrong hands through your inaction. If I could eat lobster tail, with clarified butter, and shoot my .45 for the rest my days I'd die a happy man.
Oui oui!
Of course they're taking aim at bloggers. They hate "Freedom of Speech" Obama has tried in many decetful and twisted ways to take-over, and/or CONTROL THE INTERNET! Hey obama, you'll have to rip it from our cold dead hands!
Which begs the question, Dave….
Why? Why is tyranny of this minority so tolerated? Try to intimidate a Texan with that union crap and they'll hand you your ass on a platter.
At some point people are apparently gonna have to "re-learn" how to defend themselves and their interests….and not just from UNIONS. What about greedy corporate bosses? What about corrupt politicians?
Time for all us John Qs to grow a pair, stand up, and say "ENOUGH."
AND MEAN IT!
After Katrina the gov't called for folks to "voluntarily surrender" their firearms. In some cases they actually executed warrant-less searches and SEIZED THEM.
My friend volunteered his. Three days later he was SHOT DEAD IN HIS OWN HOME by looters which the gov't COULD NOT AND DID NOT PROTECT HIM FROM!
Buy one, learn how to use it responsibly, and how NOT TO LOOSE IT OR YOUR RIGHT TO OWN IT!
Never understand how people who voluntarily try to reduce their tax burden, yet those sam people would voluntarily give up the means to defend something priceless – their lives and those of their families.
The unions have the tea party people, the NRA, and the right, in their crosshairs because we are
the ones that are a direct threat to their agenda….They'll keep attacking us until the very end….As long
as there's unions, there'll be thugs…the way they survive, is by intimidating people…
We own other firearms as well. We took my 9mm to the gun range the week we bought it. I beat my husband at the gun range! I have been giving him a hard time since. I got five bulls eyes and 16 of my 17 shots were on center mass at around thirty feet. We plan on going once a month at least to the range. The range is conveniently located just down the street from me.
We will also plan on taking our children to the gun range and let them start practicing with our .22 rifle. If I could have pizza in one hand and my 9mm in the other, I'd die a happy and SAFE woman.
Sad fact of life for men. Women, especially American women, are better shots. You all have the Annie Oakley gene! A good man needs to be brave for 5 minutes out of million, a woman has to be brave for a lifetime, especially the mothers.
Besides public schools, there's nothing I hate more than jackbooted union thuggery. The fact that unions are have targeted our movement only steels my resolve.
No collectivist twit is going to intimidate me … or my Remmington 870.
[...] via » Union-Backed Democrats Take Aim at Bloggers, Tea Party Activists and NRA Members – Big Gove…. [...]
Amen!
We should install a turnstile between the isles so that when one of ours wanders over, they can't come back.
Will….
Could not agree more. Bring em kicking and sreamin into the light of day and onto the battlefield of ideas ( where they are unarmed)
Plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose avec les unions.
So explain how the unions not liking hypocrites, Spent 60 Million on getting Obama elected, Spent 10 Million to try and defeat the Senator from AR (She won the primary against the heavy union backed candidate) and has pledged to spend another 100 million on elections this fall for Democrats. This is while all union pension funds are vastly under funded, and they are now expecting the tax payer to bail them out. So who the hell is being a hypocrite?
Now you're talkin!
At some point we may have to put our money where our mouths are. I hope not, I really do, because these types of things always exact a pound of flesh from all sides. Push come to shove we may have to play that card but there ain't enough air brushin or lipstick on earth to pretty that up. If we learned nothing else from the civil war it should be that a hundred and forty years later, it still raises anger on both sides of the discussion.
Somehow in the final analysis I don't think unions were good for GM & Chrysler. The SEIU maintain a bunch of thugs on their payroll for cracking heads that they deem may need cracking. Teamsters have shot at and in some cases killed independant and what they consider scab truckers during their strikes. Unions are no longer useful or necessary, except if you are a democrat politician.
HR5175 DISCLOSE Act and S3295 – The acronym means "Democracy is Strengthened by Casting Light on Spending in Elections Act", but provisions in this bill would basically regulate political speech, including new constraints on organizations such as 501(c)4's (which just happens to include some Tea Party groups). As pointed out on RedState blog on May 6, "This bill would narrow the Citizens United v. FEC Supreme Court case that allowed for more First Amendment activity during campaigns. You know, the case that President Obama used as an excuse to intimidate and bully the court during his State of the Union earlier this year. Now the Congress is trying to modify that decision before the fall elections." If you value freedom of speech, object to Congress now and work actively to defeat the co-sponsors of this bill in November.
If you doubt how dangerous this bill is, read Arlen Specter's PR in favor of it. This is not just about "big corporations". It will impose constraints on Internet activity, such as political bloggers.
The video is funny because this is the same crap the Dems accuse the Tea Party folks of doing. I should not fear for my safety just because I ask my congressman a question. Another video downloaded before it vanishes

A lot of people read this site. And you can bet they are not all who agree with us. If you also read Huffington post and other liberal blogs, you can often find where the 'big' sites are quoted and ridiculed. Has for people reacting and doing something about what they see or read here, and I am only speaking for myself, I do contact the proper people to lodge a complaint or have my voice heard. I am also staring a website that will catalog the abuse of power by not just the left, but also by any and ALL political persons, including unions.
You will have to remember that Obama and his Union thugs intend to keep a boot on the throat of America until they get what they want.
My husband calls me Annie Oakley too–great minds think alike! Make no mistake, as a mom, I would protect my children without hesitation.
Let's GIT-R-DONE boys!
This entire charade is nothing more than an attempt to destroy blogs and free speech on the Internet. To combat this, call, fax, and E-mail your congressmen and senators. Inform them that this is totally unacceptable. Do politely remind them that their continuation in positions of authority are in jeopardy. Keep the pressure on. Don't stop. Swamp the phones, fax machines, and E-mail,
With respect to Chris Christy his bill is nothing more than implied threat through intimidation. To fight this, phone, fax, and E-mail his office to let him know that he is doing a bang up job. Also ask him to veto this fallacious bill if it should arrive at his desk.
We don't need to be "spoon fed" numbnutz, we "know the score" on unions. I've been a member of Teamsters, Retail Clerks, and two teachers' unions. And unless you're on the union "payroll" you're an ass for defending them. Either that or you're a union member gobbling up that bullsh#t they're "spoon feeding" you.
What the hell are you even talking about?? Did you just cut and paste some random shite from HuffPo in the hopes it would be semi-coherent??
Go back to sleep, you'll do less damage that way…
Unions are killing this country…
yep me too I have to renew my membership when the DNC targets them with the help of their union thugs its shows me that they are working.
They will lose in November. I am going to spend election night celebrating the loss of moron's like Harry Reid as he goes down to defeat.
At some point, the 'union backed' Democrats are going to have to realize that they no longer have a party. They are the new 'union' Progressive party and should call themselves that. The true and honest Democrats are the big losers here. Their party has been overtaken, dramatically altered, then abandoned.
As an Independent, I have often voted for the Democratic party. I can honestly say, I wouldn't consider it now because I relate 'Democrat' with un-American.
America is tired of being lied to and demeaned by the current 'Democratic' administration. When you belittle or demean the American people for defending the Constitution, you are simply telling all who listen that you no longer believe in America.
Sadly, I now have to research everything a 'Democrat' says. I research everything Republicans say also, but they are definitely the more honest of the two parties. It's sad, really. If John Kennedy came back today, he would sit down and have lunch with anyone from the 'Tea Party', but he'd refuse to sit down with those who now claim his former party. What a horrible loss for America.
We need to rank the dems who get the higest $ backing and start with the dem that gets the most and work our way down the list.
UNION IS A BAD WORD

Big Brother is watching!
[...] Hmmm. The new legislation is designed to intimidate small advocacy groups and is being pushed by the White House and the corrupt big government unions such as SEIU. More here. [...]
Oh jeez-my post up there should say-I'd LIVE to be a happy and safe woman.
I've written it before and I'll write it again…the teapartiers need to have cameras everywhere at rallys and have them downloading vidio to the internet wirelessly in real time so when the cameras are broken by union thugs or confiscated by the "authorities" the vidio is still somewhere….
The NRA seems moot when you see what firearms the local SWAT team has that have been "banned" for your use…the second amendment is dead if the government has superior gunpower.(keep in mind that I live in CA…where more guns are outlawed every six months or so)
It's too bad that 'lame duck-ism' still persists in our politics.I think that if I vote for someone on Tuesday, then Wednesday morning that person should be in office….from a poem of mine…"Look what the cat drug in, a lame duck with a poisoned pen"
Just say "No!" to unions. I did.
W3CP – a tea party activist and a proud NRA member.
Texas, if someone takes a shot at us, then under TEXAS law we are entitled to defend ourselves. Unfortunately, Texas is the only place where we can still do that without being arrested, imprisoned, and disarmed. All it takes is one crackpot with a pistol to light this bag of powder. I think we have the right to keep and bear arms and to defend ourselves, however knowing WHEN to shoot is as important as knowing HOW.
Joe, you are the first intelligent Democrat I have met this year. However, the fiscal situation is worse than you even realize. Tax receipts are way down and spending is way up. Government is becoming more intrusive and less effective every day and the citizens are jobless and hungry. I do not wish for war, I wish our government felt the same. Every day the stranglehold we live in grows tighter, the noose is control.
Congratulations on becoming an Armed Citizen. If we had more of them, our country would be much safer. Criminals are cowards by nature. Your house is much less likely to be robbed if the crooks know that 9 out of ten homes are full of armed people. but the person who puts a sign in their yard saying "I don't like guns" will be robbed daily.
Thank you Joe for being an advocate for firearms safety. I get scared sometimes on the range watching some goofball who just came from the gun show and never even read the flipping manual. I have actually had to strip a weapon and kept a part until he could name it. I did not do it for fun. He had swept me repeatedly with the muzzle and had an AD on the range while it was cold so I disarmed him. The range safety actually had to take the guy and teach him firearms etiquette and safe handling procedures.
Millions. They don't all register and post, but there are millions of them.
The last time someone treated me the way the government is treating us got a broken jaw.
Calm down Mr. Obama.
"Suppression of the Opposition" from Karl Marx.
I love the footnote. Its kind of funny. I actually feel SORRY for anyone who wants to mess with the NRA. They have both advantages: Guns and Lawyers.
Be advised I'm a Republican, who believes in fighting wars to win by any means necessary. The purpose of war is to bring it to a swift and victorious end. We must either decide to fight to eliminate those regimes that foster evil or retreat. We no longer have any room for failure, we do not have the men, material or frankly the will to maintain this \”long war\” as it oscillates it control from supposed liberal democrats to supposed conservative republicans. If I ran this roost it would be over in 6 months, and there would be lots of dead enemy. We can either do this or our children will.
So true, Sparky!
The thing is when you grow up around guns you KNOW your limits, your rights, and your responsibilities. It's the kind of knowledge a kid with a quad bike acquires over time. There's a respect for the tool and a pretty clear understanding of what can happen pretty fast.
Defending our right to keep and bear arms is absolute. No discussion. No concession. It is second only to our right to free speech. That said, I am concerned when non gun owners go out and buy that first gun. They may even take a safety course. But they don't have a lifetime of intuitive "gun handling" to draw on.
My worst fear is a newly armed public presents as much danger to themselves as any intruder does. I see them less as crackpots than just novices….probie mistakes will inevitably be made and more and more folks go out and buy that first weapon. Kids sneakin in late from a date can get shot. Neighbors out after dark lookin for a dog can get shot. All sorts of ugly mistakes born of "first time gun ownership" can and will be made.
For that reason it is or should be the number one goal of the NRA to MANDATE as a condition of membership, REAL GUN TRAINING, longer and more comprehensive safety courses….imo staged over a year so they can absorbe the information and get "comfortable" with using guns.
MEMBERSHIP IN A GUN CLUB is important. So many times people learn best and most from a buddy on the firing range. Risky handling can be immediately corrected. And it's a great way to build confidence while hammering home the RESPONSIBILITY part of the deal. It's not just a right or a priviledge, it's a RESPONSIBILITY of literally holding the power of life and death in your hand.
Anyone who wants to join NRA should be required to do this. Anyone buying a "first" gun should be REQUIRED to take the same classes. When a new "toy" can take a life, it should come with all sorts of requirements. That's the only way I believe people can and will get an in depth course in HOW and more importantly WHEN to use their gun. And I don't think a brief peek into the psychology of mob mentality would be wasted in a gun course either.
Hope folks here who say they are buying a gun for the first time will take this stuff to heart. Killing someone, intentionally or by accident, makes them no less dead, or the shooter no less accountable and responsible. I hope folks ASK THEMSELVES if they can live with that. I've seen families dissolve or fracture over a gun accident…..lives and marriages destroyed forever.
Defending ourselves is not the only purpose of a gun. PROTECTING innocents who may be on the receiving end of that barrel is a DUTY that only the person holding the gun can perform. And learning how to do that properly is a RESPONSIBILITY never to be taken lightly.
Are you kiddin about gun owners in other states not allowed to return fire? That is pathetic. You what, dial 911 and hope the cop gets to the shooter before the shooter gets to you? That's just stupid on steroids.
Been doing this for a decade. Seen all sorts. We do what we must to promote our sport and love of our rights. In this case the one that protects the rest. Every time you teach an American how to handle a rifle or a pistol safely you are doing the Lords work!

We should move our Capitol to Texas! That should keep them in line, and shut their mouths with all their Give-away programs, & THREE years on Unemployment! and giving Mortgages to people who can't afford them, and giving Scholarships to Foreign Students, with fake credentials, who try to BLOW UP AMERICA! D.C. could use a good ole Texas Whomp!
P.S Texas has a Balanced Budget right? Hmmm. Does California? no, New York? no. Mass?no. New England? no. Our Federal Government? NO! Uh Team Obama has put us 13Trillion Dollars in Debt! and now they want Amnesty & Cap & Tax? Obama & his Radical Dems, & Hollywood Airheads could take a lesson from Texas, and other states like Texas! (Oklahoma) to get us back on track.
It would be unconstitutional to outlaw labor unions, BUT every state that doesn't already have a "right to work" law should pass one. In Virginia, the right to work law makes it illegal, in no uncertain terms, to either join a union as a requirement for employment, or to force any employee to join a union against their will. Check out "right to work" laws.
States should also forbid state workers from being unionized.
It would be such a relief if Clean minded, Red blooded Loyal Patriotic Americans ran our Country.
- As you said it would all be over in 6 months. I can't stand all of this pandering, and deceit and propping up obama to gain CONTROL of our Freedoms and our Money! It's sickening. Decisions such as you outlined in your letter are logical, and lead to successful ends. Why do we have Marxists in charge? Our vow is to BE SURE that every elected official from now on has Executive experience, and Loyalty to America! not to Karl Marx or some Leader or Country that wishes us ill. More importantly we need people who are not resentful of 'Folks who make too much money & don't belong to Unions' We need pragmatists to return our country to Prosperity! and Peace! Cheers! I like that Idea!!
