Cedra Crenshaw, Candidate Mom, Escapes Clutches of Chicago Machine
by Kyle OlsonCedra Crenshaw proved to be too quick to be the latest victim of the Chicago Machine. She’s running for the Illinois state Senate as a Tea Party Republican, and Democrats did their best to keep her off the ballot.
Though the district is reportedly 2-1 Democrat, she’s still making them sweat and they tried their best to find anything to prevent voters from having a choice – even stooping so low to nit-pick about wording on Crenshaw’s petition.
Crenshaw has been fighting, sometimes alone, for public school accountability and parental choice. It’s those types of leaders that make the power brokers nervous.
If wording on a petition could defeat Crenshaw, then Democrats and power brokers in Chicago and Springfield wouldn’t have to answer to voters for their record. So sad, Machine: Crenshaw will be given the opportunity to hold the entrentched power to account.
EAGtv caught up with Crenshaw to hear about why she’s running and what she’s fought for to improve education.

This is outstanding news for Crenshaw and for the Tea Party Movement as a whole. Tea Partiers are starting to elbow their way into elected positions. As we see, the political class doesn't like the intrusion into what they believed was their own private party. Too bad.

The odds are against her in a heavily Democratic district, and the campaign will get ugly as the Democrats will send out the union thugs, the smear tactics, etc against her.

Now that's what I'm talking about! Here is an intelligent conservative woman with perseverance. She is a threat to everything progressive liberal and they are foaming at the mouth. Cedra, know that the patriots of this country are behind you. Once you are elected those same patriots will be watching your six so that you may be able to do the peoples business without having to watch your back too.
This is great news! We fight them with ideas, honor and integrity and will win as long as we stay united and true to our beliefs. Power has corrupted many of our current leaders…in both parties. I hope Cedra wins along with the many other Tea Party conservatives. Notice I don't say Republican…although I am one I call myself a conservative first and foremost. I don't care what sex, color or religion you are…just be honest, conservative and uncompromising on your true beliefs.

I know EXACTLY how the Chicago political machine works (as I worked for them before I got an education and a REAL job), and I KNOW my Grandmother continued to 'vote' for nearly 10 yrs after she died.
The Chicago Democratic machine has long been known to provide results from the absentee ballots of the deceased; it was a laughing point among those with whom I worked then and I'm sure it is still today.

If you've been watching the news media lately, you've no doubt seen the press stories where the NAACP has been attacking the tea party movement as racists. They've even tried to turn conservatives and tea party activists against each other.
It's something I saw coming from a mile away. When I wrote the "American Tea Party Anthem" I included the following line in the song:
"So when they call you a racist, because you disagree, it's just another of their dirty tricks, to silence you and me."
And guess what: it's not going to work, and we are NOT going to be silenced.
The fight for our country's future is so important, and there is so much work that needs to be done by each of us.
I got involved in this tea party movement as a proud American (not a hyphenated-American, just a regular American like you and every other proud patriot) because I love this nation and what it was founded on. There is no other country in the world that celebrates and empowers the freedom of the individual as the United States does.
Our Founding Fathers left us a legacy of freedom that each generation must work to protect and uphold.
Sadly, corrupt politicians have sold us out and taken away some of those freedoms in recent years. They've grown the size and intrusiveness of the federal government. They've strapped us with massive amounts of debt. Our children and grandchildren will be dealing with these problems if we don't take action now.
