Obama, Advisor Cass Sunstein Remarkably Attacked Bush in 2006 for ‘Undermining Constitution’
by Kyle OlsonA 30-some minute 2006 documentary, “Quiet Revolution,” by the progressive Alliance for Justice, hosted by actor Bradley Whitford, decried the supposed Constitutional abuse by the Bush administration. It was screened at the 2007 “Take Back America” conference, where the session description humorously notes an interview with a little known, apparently Irish, Senator “Barack O’bama.”
Remarkably, Cass Sunstein, now the regulatory czar a President O’bama, officially known as the head of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, said the Bush administration and its like-minded justices on the Supreme Court (specifically Clarence Thomas and Antonin Scalia) are undermining the right to privacy. By my count, that’s 2 on a court of nine justices.
Yes, the man that wants to “tax conspiracy theories,” put government-sponsored pop-ups on political blogs, and other Big Brothery things at one point was apparently concerned about the right to privacy. Shows what a little power will do for you, I guess. As Paul Joseph Watson wrote:
Essentially, Sunstein wants it to be written into law that the government can dictate the very nature of reality to Americans and that their opinions can only be voiced at best when accompanied by mandatory federal propaganda or at worst that Americans can be silenced entirely by federal decree.
All in the defense of the Constitution and the right to free speech, naturally. And this man had the gall to criticize the Bush administration?
The Alliance for Justice documentary exposes Obama and Sunstein for the Constitutional hypocrites that they are. They used such artful language to appear to be defenders of the Constitution. They even decried the usurpation of power by the executive branch and warned of the irrelevance of the Congress. I guess that’s not so much of a problem these days since they call the shots there, too.
The documentary, which clearly was intended to be a hit piece on the Bush administration and its nominations to the Supreme Court, is laughable given the people interviewed are now the ones in charge. It’s worth a watch to fully appreciate their scariness and hypocrisy.

They love to wrap themselves in the Constitution ( usually in a facile, broad sweeping, but not entirely accurate manner), but will shred the Constitution in a second for some purported "noble" Progressive goal like mandated socialized healthcare. This is why they need Alinsky's rules. If the whole thing were not a house of cards built on deception on propaganda – why do you even need the Alinsky playbook ( or Soros $ for that matter). What's his information on Obama offering people jobs to stay out of elections and why isn't he regulating companies like BP before they do great harm. In a way, it's not entirely accurate to say they contradicted themselves, since they never really were concerned about the Constitution in the first place. They care only about getting power and control. Attacking Bush with lies was just a means to an end. Feigned concern about the Constitution is counterproductive now that they're in power, and need to flout the Constitution to keep and expand that power.

If the Court finds there is no right to privacy in the Constitution it would not merely overturn Roe but make your health records public. Hmm. That's stupid. Health records are protected by statute, not a constitutional right, and would be unaffected by such a ruling. The Bush Administration never proposed warrantless domestic wiretapping, nor the suspension of habeus corpus. Nor did anyone claim that its only torture if there is organ failure. That would be asinine. The Establishment Clause would seem to be sufficient proof against an official state church no matter what one thinks of the wall metaphor.
The main "argument" is in the form of an appeal to authority. All those law profs in their splendidly tailored suits must know better than you ordinary slobs. The left flatters itself that it is uniquely possessed of political realism and intellectual firepower, but on the evidence here that claim is wildly exaggerated.

Fortunately for me he and my mother were separated for 8 years and got back together when I was 11. Progs don't usually have a good argument. Sometimes they can raise a good point, but rarely have I seen any kind of sweeping intelligence from them. They don't have good ideas. All of their ideas are subjective based. Progs use anger and fear to gain/retain power, since their goals and aspirations cannot logically be argued.
I generally agree with your statements, except maybe the last. They could argue their points logically, and in the open, but it leads to a very dark place that they know no one in their right mind would consciously go.
The fact that somewhere near half of the population actually BELIEVES this crap is terrifying! The possibility of our changing their minds seems highly unlikely, and the actual misery that these views will cause may be the only chance that we have…Object lessons are the only ones that truly stick. Pray that enough of them "get it" before they have effectively destroyed the greatest political system in human history…or, prepare yourself for the revolution!
