Uh-Oh: Another Dem Acknowledges Health Bill is ‘Wealth Redistribution’
by Kyle OlsonOne can only imagine the “Dean Scream” that came out of Burlington, Vermont the night the government takeover of health care passed the House of Representatives.
The always daffy Howard Dean appeared on CNBC’s “Squawk Box” Sunday to discuss the health care reform bill. He explained that the broader principle of the legislation has less to do with fixing the health system and more to do with a Marxist principle of redistributing wealth.
“When [wealth distribution] gets out of whack as it did in the ’20s and it has now, you need to do some redistribution. This is a form of redistribution.”
Ever the politician, Dean cautions that there could be “too much” redistribution, which could result in the “incentive” being taken out of the system. I’m sorry – when have extreme liberals ever worried about people having incentive to do anything on their own?
In the interview, Dean wonders what the “right balance” of income distribution might be for America. Again, as I wondered a few days ago, how are politicians qualified to determine what that “right balance” should be? If the way they handle our money in Washington, D.C. is any indication, the politicians would do us a service by steering completely clear of financial matters.
Welcome to the transforming America.
We have politicians “tweaking” the system in an effort to spread the wealth more equally among hard working people and people who prefer not to work at all. I doubt this is what the Founding Fathers had in mind.

When the plan gets rolling full speed ahead and redistribution on a scale never before felt in this country becomes a reality I will look back on the days when I really believed in the America of our forefathers. We've reached that point Howard. As an educated, self employed person, who fought, worked like a dog, and took risks to claw my way to the top 5%, I work to put money away for retirement. Beyond that and taking care of the basics, I see little motivation to bust my @ss to send 40-50% of my efforts for the federal and state governments to waste. Starting a side business and putting some people to work was a thought, but why should I take the risk and additional stress just to pay higher and higher taxes?

I listened to John Gibson for a few minutes today – he invited people to call in if they liked the new socialist health plan and I found it interesting that not a one of them would admit to being a supporter of socialism. See here's the thing, the 12 years of Reagan/Bush and the 8 years of Dubya were an exercise in wealth redistribution, it was just upward distribution to make the super rich even more super rich. During which time no conservative ever got all uppity about the tax structure or about overreaching abuse of power. And yeah, how there's going to be a reevaluation of how the tax structure works. Elections have consequences. Some of us view what happened before Obama as unfair, and we are Americans too, and yeah our voices will assuredly be heard, after years of being ignored. Deal with it. The obama is backing a race-based admissions policy at one public university.
The Wall Street Journal reports that the Obama administration has asked a federal appeals court to uphold ( deny white kids) the system at the University of Texas at Austin.
The case was brought by two white students who were rejected for admission at the Austin campus. 75 percent of students are admitted on academic grounds if they rank in the top 10% of their high school class… but the rest are admitted through a so-called "holistic" evaluation that takes factors like race or ethnic identity into account.
These white students say the admissions policy violated the federal civil rights law. So far, a district judge has rejected their claim… but it's possible this thing could wind up before the Supreme Court.
You see, this case actually tests a 2003 high court ruling that upheld a similar policy at the University of Michigan law school. At the time, the court said the school had a "compelling interest in attaining a diverse student body." It prohibited "outright racial balancing"…
but said race could be a "plus" factor in order to build a "critical mass" of minority students.
It's because Obama and the Liberal Socialists have a different world view. America used to have a Christian world view, our Nation is moving more to the secular Atheist world view.

I was just wondering what would the Liberal Government do if we just stopped working. Just that, all businesses just close down for one week and gave a clear message to the federal government that "We the People": can shut down the entire economy at our will. If that does not work then withhold all tax dollars from the Federal Government. Also just refuse to pay into the Health Care System. I really feel that a national week of Major Protest is needed.

I am in the same boat with the Self Employment taxes. The wealth redistibution goes much deeper than that though. Government has bailed out banks, which bail out irresponsible homeowners. Their net wealth improves $50k (short sales) when they walk away from a mortgage and my fully paid off house is dropping like a rock.
The government has spent incredible resources to keep the interest rates incredibly low. Cheap money available and absolutley no income potential for savers.
All of these: inequality of taxes, bailouts and fed interest rate policy, have the net effect of equalizing wealth.
Is there any incentive to work hard in this country (besides pride in a job well done)? Socialism? You be the judge.
