Is ACORN’s Bankruptcy Claim Just More Deceit?
by Kyle OlsonACORN, the ultra-secret, keep-the-books-from-the-leadership community organizing group, called the New York Times to say it’s preparing to file for bankruptcy? The corrupt outfit is choosing now to be transparent?

Or did it seek that opportunity to call an allied newspaper at precisely the moment conservatives were all in a lather about ObamaCare?
Regardless, ACORN leaders “not authorized to speak to the news media” claimed ACORN will soon be filing for bankruptcy.
The move could be an armadillo action so the group’s critics will move on to other things. ACORN certainly is down. It has reportedly lost significant private funding. It’s been booted out of Ohio for good. From the Times article:
“That 20-minute video ruined 40 years of good work,” said Sonja Merchant-Jones, former co-chairwoman of Acorn’s Maryland chapter. “But if the organization had confronted its own internal problems, it might not have been taken down so easily.”
ACORN’s leaders past and present didn’t help. Wade Rathke and his team admitted to choosing restitution over retribution in his brother’s nearly million-dollar embezzlement. But it wasn’t just the authorities that were kept in the dark for 8 years – the national board was, too.
Oh, and being accused of voter registration fraud in over a dozen states doesn’t help, either. So while ACORN will attempt to blame its woes on James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles, it ultimately has itself to blame for its apparent downfall.
One thing is clear: the brainchild of Wade Rathke – the web of hundreds of organizations all claiming a single address – does appear to be dead. But the dream lives on in smaller breakaway organizations sprinkled throughout the country. What remains to be seen is whether the new organizations will eventually unite to re-form the mighty ACORN, or if they will be small, relatively weak, like-minded allies that are limited to reminiscing about the glory days, when they elected senators and presidents.

Damn, what a shame… this great hel[p organizantion is going belly up…. well, the dems will follow suit this year as well… so no BIG lose..
Obama just revived his crew by giving them more of our hard-earned dollars. They need them to cheat and harrass in November for their progressive/marxist candidates. Obama's spending our money like it's going out of style – easy to do since the community organizer has never had to earn it himself and has no idea how hard it is to come-by.

OBLABLA thinks it is his….money that is
This is a sham. ACORN offices all around the US are changing their names & beginning a new organization. Of course they are going bankrupt. They are shifting their money from one to the other. Obama & Stern's little pet will not be allowed to fail. They are the AIG of Obama's grassroots movement. I'm personally happy this "organization" is having to tap dance once again.
i read recently that some "department" or another in Dc, probably headed by one of the marx*st czars is back to funding them again (against the congressional ruling… what a surprise) so this begs the question if you are getting your (my) $$$ why the press release?
I wonder if all the sychophant members of congress who think Oblahblah is the second coming realize that by not thwarting our residential egomaniac/marx*ist they are rendering themselves and all of congress totally irrelevant? He has made it abundantly clear that he will go around them at every opportunity to get/inflict exactly what he wants.
Why are we still talking about this organization? Why are they still allowed to operate? They are corrupt to the core and are associated with questionable individuals. Oh wait I forgot silly me they are a tool of King BHO silly me!
Like how the feds are just sitting back and not going after them… hmm gee wonder who gave the order to stand down?!
Bingo! They are already greasing the wheels for the November elections.
The Communist in Chief has usurped Congress and they willingly let him do so. The executive he ordered to placate Stupid-Pak is a prime example. Congress has becaome a relic in the Rpublic, (at least what's left of it).
(hi, Suzy!)
Follow them, follow the members, follow the leaders, follow them and root them out!
In a Land that used to have Laws and a Constitution a Government funded organization under investigation, accused of fraud and racketeering…. Would have had it doors nailed shut… The FBI would have confiscated all of their files across the nation and the Primary leadership heads accounts would have been frozen.
Of course they are "preparing to file for bankruptcy" Does anyone believe that there is going to be an honest vetting into this contemptible groups business practices? Can you imagine Joe anybody else in America robbing a bank then saying… well I thought it was ok to do so, I had every intention of returning my unapproved loan just as soon as you caught me.
America, James and Hannah need your help. Keep the cameras handy and watch ACORN or whatever 'new' moniker they choose, from every angle. Form an ACORN watch group. The crooks will slip up. Daylight is the best antiseptic for diseases like this.
The November tactic is to draw a commarison with people who opposed Obamacare with racism. We all know that. read Krugman's artilce in the NYT today and look at the comments. This is going to be the BIG LIE they tell from now until the elections.
We must be able to counteracts that and we have to be able to count on the GOP leadership to support us. One way that we can counteract this is to gain access to Dem strategists. We need to be able to prove that this is just a despicable political tactic.
Afterall, the Dems were throwing ethics charges to their OWN over this bill. the gloves will be off for the opposition.
Ruse was the first word that crossed my mind when I learned of ACORN's filing for bankruptcy. It's just too convenient. Funny how they think they're fooling us.
Follow the money!
This is off point but a must read for conservatives and Tea Party members.
I just recieved it.

Chapter 7, 11, or 13?? Good work?? me thinks NOT….
Just tried the link, I'm kind of new at this online crap, old school.
The article is about Tea Parties being "hijacked" by others with an agenda of "control" over people.
I don't know how to make the link work.
Maybe google the article, I read it, I have it in my inbox.
They all are tooLAZY to work for a living! OF course obama will re-fund them! O wants us to act like the crazies he's used to,and riot! Before its over we will be !!!!
Beware this sounds like a trojan horse
THIS MONEY IS BEING STOLEN FROM US! WAKE UP AMERICA! We'VE BEEN BAMBOOZLED!!
is this a serious question?…
ACORN is one of more than 100 organizations owned, or controlled, by SEIU and the Stern boys. It is, and always has been a Ponzi/shell game where money is moved around wherever they feel it's expedient. The Louisiana Attorney General is finally getting around to investigating a potentially fraudulent organization. So far we trust Mr
Jindahl as Governor; but eyes must be kept on this organization…
Is too tall jones too tall?
It it just normal Americans who pay attention to what is going on the only ones with common sense anymore? I'm tired of being told I'm eating an orange when I'm chewing an apple.
How do you create honest people? You never let them get away with being dishonest. Ever. Not even once. NOT EVEN ONCE!
ACORN never has been good for anyone but Big Brother.
In a different society say 100 year ago they would have all been jailed or simply laughed out of town.
link not working
I agree – this is just another game to throw their detractors in another direction. I just read last week that the White House quitely funded ACORN while the country was absorbed in Health care. Not sure how the two fit together but I do not trust these entities. They are very 'creative'.
The WH is gearing for 2012 and they are regrouping with their election machines, adding new groups/individuals (Al Sharton recently was recruited to help).
They made this impressive announcement to stick in the publics mind just before a federal judge ordered funding restored. Peter Orzag who is Obama's budget meister issued a letter yesterday during the House Care show to all federal agencies. Confuse the public while distracted, ignore the actions of give them the money, and then execute the name change. Pull the wool over the publics eyes. Wake up folks it's time to raise the charge again. We must be vigilant and respond by engaging elected officials, editorial pages, and the press. All ACORN is doing is a carnival schill game. WE KNOW THE GAME and are TIRED OF IT!
Let's take the trash out in NOVEMBER TO REMEMBER!!!
Yes I agree. We have to keep the spotlight on them. Watch for voter fraud, voter intimidation, election funding fraud.
lifelong con artist's giving up all that they know and have learned for the straight and narrow? do i have to lay odds if i take the other side of that bet? after last nights handout i don't expect these thieves to change their ways anytime soon even though charities should require much, much less now that will all be cured, i mean covered.
see i already need medicine
we'll all be
Is this whole move trying to take the sting out of any to-date unshown videos by Big Gov.com? It might not be a bad idea to get them out there while they still have some merit and shut down this behind the scenes refunding move by Obumble and crew.
Someone has to pay to bus the Democrat blacks from poll to poll in November. Remember, no questions may be "axed". Glad to clarify. REV Wright
Oh Gillan… I am so glad to see you! Where have you been?
That is very easy. When Obama was a grassroots organizer back in the day he worked as a Constitutional Attorney for ACORN. Since he began his political ascedency Acorn has supported him & campaigned on his behalf. When the Presidential race began they backed him along with Andy Stern & the SEIU which gave him to major voices which allowed him to pull away from Hillary in the Primary. He also worked with SEIU & Andy Stern, who by the way has visited Obama in the White House even more than his Generals in 2 ongoing wars. Stern has helped him craft a # of policies as well as healthcare. SEIU & Acorn do have a connection to each other through political ties as well as economic & social.
A bigger bunch of liars and crooks there has never been.
“That 20-minute video ruined 40 years of good work,” said Sonja Merchant-Jones
GOOD WORK!?! What good work? If you consider perpetrating voter fraud and using the people that live in low income slums as pawns to help bring our nation closer towards socialism as good work, then I guess ACORN deserves to be placed along side Mother Theresa in the good works category; but that’s not where I would place them.
hey, seems i've been a BadBoy out here lately….i'm gettin' a bit too personal and it's startin' to drag the debate into the gutter. So, while i'm not out to offend anyone, (well…. Progressives will never catch a break from me), i think it best i take a break, (at least from spewing dreck at any rate). i do apologize if i offended your or anyone else's sensibilities.
Time to lurk…..
Just over 6 months to take them down. Who's next? Whoo hoo!
not mine, Gillan! I'm just glad to see you are still here!
Not needed any more; they will all be hired by government to make sure we buy healthcare. Watch for names of IRS new hires.
At least Sonja has the guts to admit that while the videos were the tipping point, in the end, ACORN is to blame for its own demise.
“That 20-minute video ruined 40 years of good work,” said Sonja Merchant-Jones, former co-chairwoman of Acorn’s Maryland chapter. “But if the organization had confronted its own internal problems, it might not have been taken down so easily.
Unlike Bertha Lewis, the CEO of ACORN & perpetual "victim" who has opted for the Hillary Clinton vast right wing conspiracy excuse
"ACORN has faced a series of well-orchestrated, relentless, well-funded right wing attacks that are unprecedented since the McCarthy era," she said. "The videos were a manufactured, sensational story that led to rush to judgment and an unconstitutional act by Congress."
But cheer up Bertha – now that Obamacare has become a reality, you'll be able to have access to 'free' health care.
"Is ACORN’s Bankruptcy Claim Just More Deceit?"
That's rhetorical, right?
We're going to be playing 'Wack-a-Mole' with these vermin for a while yet.
thats what is needed i think
any group or org getting fed dollars needs watching
cut the link in half
it takes you to the site
This is the biggest crock I have heard yet. They were going to do a name change. Instead they are going to pull this phony ploy. This way we will be to stupid to realize our crocked politcians have them back on the payroll getting more taxpayer money. You know damn well the Dems are relying on Acorn to try and save their asses in November.
I am not an election lawyer (or any other kind of lawyer) so it is unclear to me who is to blame. Recall Bush getting the manufactured outrage from the Dims for politicizing the Justice Dept. Allegedly, one of his DA's failed to go after voter fraud with sufficient zeal and got the axe. Dims were outraged nad put Bush on defense for what seemed like a near eternity. What I want to know is, why aren't republican administrations capable of playing hardball like the Dims when it comes to things like Acorn and voter fraud. These people should have been out of business long ago and most certainly not sucking the teat of government largesse. Their tactics are ripe for RICO charges if anyone took the effort to investigate.
Of course it's deceit. You have two types of people. Givers and Takers. Unfortunately, Takers NEVER go away.
God Knows and the Truth will Prevail!
Wait, the president is spending money? Unheard of… It wouldn't have been so hard to come by if one of our presidents hadn't spent $900 billion on an illegally waged war.
Its probably like the shell game Air America bankruptcy in 2006, that was little more than a name change, and a minor one at that.
Wait, the president is spending money? Unheard of… It wouldn't have been so hard to come by if one of our presidents hadn't spent $900 billion on an illegally waged war.
Certainly, the move is no doubt an attempt to divert peoples attention from their activities at ACORN. But, am sure they will not succeed as all eyes are on them.
The bolsheviks are coming, the bolsheviks are coming.

I agree! Acorn may have started with wonderful intentions, helping those who needed a brake in getting started or to rebuild their lives, but like so many of the government ideas they grew into a monster that had people living on 4th and 5th generations of welfare, working only the system and sucking the life out of America! Acorn as such may disappear off the radar, but another demon will appear with another name to do just the same thing and keep poorer Americans enslaved to the government and to make sure that they vote to continue their way of life (welfare).
Kinda reminds me of removing the pestilence also known as gophers. James, Hannah, et.al. have smoked them out, now we have to finish the play using the Deus method of 'Wack-a-Mole'.
Let's save that as a last resort. We havn't run out of options, yet.
