President Obama Proves Glenn Beck’s ‘Fundamental Transformation’ Argument
by Kyle OlsonSomebody nominate Bret Baier for a Pulitzer! There has never been a more revealing interview with Candidate or President Obama and after yesterday, there likely won’t be one again.
The president found his conversation with Baier “frustrating” because it focused too much on “process” for his taste. The irony is, if Obama’s Democratic colleagues supported his health care take-over, process wouldn’t be an issue. They don’t and thus it is. So it is important because it shows the leadership will change the rules in order to get what they want.
But the president proved Glenn Beck’s argument that the fundamental transformation of America has begun.
“We’re not transforming one-sixth of the economy all in one fell swoop,” Obama told Baier.
This implies that what is being bandied about is only the beginning, not the end. And that pattern of thought has emerged from Washington with similar statements from Sens. Tom Harkin and Sherrod Brown.
It is likely what persuaded Rep. Dennis Kucinich to flip from a ‘no’ to a ‘yes.’
Obama also promised that the legislation will be available on-line for “several” days before a vote. Congressional leaders set a vote deadline of this weekend, so that bill should appear within hours in order for the president to keep his word – unless that was a casual promise never intended to be kept, either.
Baier’s interview showed the president doesn’t know what’s in the bill, when it will be voted on or what it will do to the economy. Nevertheless, we have a crisis on our hands and a yet-to-be-seen fix must be passed. NOW!

I wonder if anyone else noticed the arrogant disdain/anger seething just below the surface. Probably due to being forced to even speak to the evil FOX's minion since his own pocket media reaches sooo few people. Love that part!
I don't agree with Kucinich on any topic that I can think of, but I have always respected him because he doesn't hide what his opinions are. But for him to switch his vote like this is suspicious and disheartening. I guess he is like other politicians after all.

If you caught his statement on TV, regarding his changing his vote, he said (to paraphrase): After careful deliberation, prayer, talking with my wife, and closest advisors, I have decided to vote Yes."
What about the opinion of his constituents? Evedintly, they do not matter.
The libs/proggies went on the attack quickly after this, about how disrespectful Bret was. Why because he wasn't going to allow the BHO run on and on with his typical talking points and DODGE questions. For once someone has grilled this guy and as expected he failed without his precious teleprompter and prepared answers to already known questions.

One thing that they did do, which I found was telling, is they added a motion to say, Let's put a new price control entity in this law. This is what President Obama is saying he wants to add to the Senate bill. Give the government, in addition to having one person, the Health and Human Services secretary, be the regulator of all health insurance in America, he wants to give that person the ability to price control
What that is another way of saying is that's basically the back door public option. It gives the government the ability to run insurance, private insurance, out of business so that the government is the only player left. They want to try and insert this language in this bill in the Rules Committee, at reconciliation.
VAN SUSTEREN: All right, if I'm correct, then to sum it up is that some Democrats (SIC) think that the reason why there's an adherence to the Senate language on abortion is because the Democrats want to sort of push federal funding into abortion, whether it's true or not. Is that partial thinking (ph)?

VAN SUSTEREN: All right. And those who are sort of concerned about the economic aspect to this bill think that what's happening is the Democrats are trying to sneak public option through the back door.

I noticed it too. The arrogance of this president is astounding.
Some of these Senators are starting to realize how much power they now have in the minority. I can only hope that they use it wisely, and continue to use it just as wisely once they are back in the majority.
But how do you keep insurance solvent without pre-existing conditions?
A life insurance company that isn't allowed to ask how old you are or if you smoke (pre-existing conditions) would go bankrupt.
A car insurance company That isn't allowed to ask if the car has ever been wrecked (a pre-existing condition) would go bankrupt.
A bank that isn't allowed to assess your ability to pay back a mortgage before giving you a loan will GO BROKE, and take the nation down with it.
This is precisely what's happening to health insurance. He's out to destroy capitalism and then blame the victim for being dead.
We need to go after healthcare cost at the source. It's the DOCTOR BILL, the healthcare itself, that's so stinking high.

Listening to Rush, while at lunch, the president's defense of the process was that he didn't dwell on procedural matters but was focused on the vote which boils down in his mind (regardless of what's actually in the bill) to a vote for or against actual health care. So basically he wishes to paint the republicans, and any who disagree with the democratic leadership, as being against health care in general for voting against their health care bill. For someone who is supposed to be Mr. Bipartisan he sure likes to draw lines in the sand and bandy about labels for those who don't agree with him.

Bret did a great job hardballing the POTUS with questions he's never been asked on record. Unfortunately, even in 90% of American's didn't want this legislation to pass, he doesn't care. He has it in his mind that he's President until 2012 and he's going to do whatever HE wants to do. "High crimes and treason" are whatever the Senate defines them as, so whenever our elected officials grow a spine, they should take this Presidency down. Pelosi and Reid should be next, and the start making the list. All these folks deserve jail time, not so much for the legislation itself, but the process in which it's been done.
All these politicians have skeletons in their closets. It's the good ole boy club or more like the mob right now. I'm sure the subtle threats behind closed doors are really intimidating. So absolutely nothing suprises me. As long as there's closed door negotiations going on, that's a sure sign of intimidation and corruption.
Kucinich and Sherrod Brown, along with Zack Space, will be voted out from power here in Ohio. Space voted yes the first time, stating that it was "better than doing nothing". In an interview after Scott Brown's victory, Space said if he had to do it all over again, he would vote no…let's see what he does, since he is my local Representative. I have written to the editor at our local newspaper, but to no avail

It has slipped out several times in recent months that this health care bill is just a "foot in the door" to a single payer govt system. I commend Baier for attempting to get the pres to actually answer a question. I'm really tired of the pres taking up time going on and on with the same tired rhetoric. It's high time he gave honest answers to real questions that people have on their minds.

This one is easy peasey. I wondered why K didn't get on board when he realized he was working with Progressives.
Kucinich signed on as a yes for a reason. HE knows it is the first step to federal government health care. Anyone with a background in addition and subtraction can (if mentally willing) understand that taking $500 m from anywhere in the Medicare program will leave that amount unfunded. The (then unfunded) medigap part will die. (Also damaging health insurance companies.) Those people will have to go somewhere…govt health care. The same happens when you add more bodies to private health care insurance roles. Bodies= cost. Pre-existing conditions= exponentially more costs. With costs rising, the insurance company profit margin of 3-4% shrinks. When I as a stockholder see no growth, indeed an impending loss, I sell off my stocks. When the institutional stockholders see the same thing, they sell their shares. They hold larger stock blocks and usually lead the buy/sell trend.
This will cause the insurance companies to fold. An investor will not buy it because it is an unwise investment. That leaves the govt to buy it or let it fail. Failing, insurance as we know it goes away. Medicare is not cost effective for docs–costs higher than reimbursements. The same is true of TriCare for us military families. I've personally had docs tell me they have to cut out TriCare and Medicare patients because they can't afford them. These docs do not drive a Lexus. Insurance companies are gone, Docs won't take medicare (or it goes broker) or miltary insurance. Insurance cos are gone…that leaves all of us schlubs at the mercy of the babies who run to mommy for everything and the govt takes over.
We are the last bastion of true personal freedom on this earth and what scraps of it remain are being chained by this bill.

Yes, because we all want the government running one giant HMO with the government setting the rates and giving the IRS direct access to our bank accounts. The intent is to run private insurers out of business and once the government is the only game in town, watch our premiums skyrocket as Obamao uses the IRS invading our bank accounts to help pay off the deficit. In order to pay down the deficit, there would have to be severe rationing to save money, which Obie plans on doing by denying most treatments to seniors and the chronically sick.
Here's my suggestion: After this monstrosity finally passes (and it will), we get a group of two thousand people, march down to somebody's office at a time when we know they can't avoid being in, and make a citizens' arrest on charges of treason.
Abortions will be covered so as not to increase the population (sounds like China, doesn't it?), a government panel already set in place in the stimu-LESS bill will determine who gets treatment and who doesn't, based upon cost, age of patient and patient's future usefulness to society (which is age-based). In other words, just like Obamao has said on video, seniors (and the chronically sick) might want to take a pill instead of getting a heart bypass or cancer treatments.
Maybe some Dr owned hospitals in Ohio would help……

So, Obama's plan is any better? Why is he also nationalizing higher ed. school loans? What does that have to do with health care? How about the pork? The misstatement of the CBO estimates? The hidden agenda that we will be told what to weigh, what to eat, when to exercise, who will take care of us, and so on?
What about the separate but equal linguistically and culturally correct parallel health care system that the bill sets up? And the shift in funding to get this apartheid health program up and running?
What about the veterans' benefits that will be decided by the Treasury Dept. Dept. of Obamacare, and Sec. of Defense. Will he institute income-based care rationing via the VA? Or class-based?
The guy is a criminal, and so is Congress.
It is a sad day when you start to believe that your own government poses a greater threat to your freedom and prosperity than a terrorist organization or a rouge nation but we seem to have reached that point. I can't think of any instance where a terrorist or a foreign enemy could force me to pay for someones abortion or fine and imprison me for not buying insurance.
This monster must be impeached now. Ninety percent of congress should be brought up on charges of treason.

Bret Baier had me laughing when I watched this – I've never seen a politician of any stripe so uncomfortable. I loved every second of this interview. Congrats to Bret and the Fox News crew for actually challenging the President.
