Robert Gibbs’ and Andy Stern’s Purple Bracelets a Mark of Clintonesque Solidarity?
by Kyle OlsonI thought it was odd that Robert Gibbs was wearing a purple bracelet (and a purple tie) during his appearance on “Fox News Sunday” and CBS’ “Face The Nation.” SEIU president Andy Stern, the top visitor to the White House, wore a similar, if not the same, purple bracelet at one point, too. And in virtually every photo of Stern, he’s wearing SEIU’s purple color.
The bracelet is kind of a signal to tell Stern that the administration has it under control and ObamaCare will be delivered. Just a few more Democrats need to be shown the Chicago way.
Am I making too much out of nothing? Maybe. Who knows.
I do know the presidential administration Gibbs serves is doing whatever it can to deliver health care reform to Andy Stern and SEIU.
After all, that’s pretty much the only lot that wants it at this point. Even members of the president’s own party don’t want it, which is requiring them to twist arms in a way that would make Stern proud.
And this reminded me of another time a signal was being sent by the White House some time back.
During his grand jury testimony Monday prosecutors questioned President Bill Clinton about the necktie he wore on the day Monica Lewinsky testified before the federal grand jury.
Lewinsky claims she gave the president the tie he wore Aug. 6, the day she appeared, fully immunized, before Independent Counsel Ken Starr’s grand jury.
Prosecutors asked Clinton Monday if he was trying to send a signal to the former White House intern by wearing the gold necktie at a Rose Garden event on handgun control.
During the questioning prosecutors reached into a pouch and pulled out a photograph of the tie the president was wearing the morning of Lewinsky’s testimony.
Two sources, loyal to the White House, who were briefed on the president’s testimony said they were told, the president leaned back in his chair and smiled and then expressed bewilderment at the question.

Lewinsky told prosecutors she gave the president a half dozen or so ties and sent notes asking him to wear them as a demonstration that he was thinking of her.
Was Gibbs sending a signal to Stern, ala Clinton and Lewinsky? Doubtful. But anything is possible in the lead-up to the intra-Democratic Party showdown to deliver health care reform for Andy Stern and SEIU.

I don't understand how anyone that supports Health Care Reform would want it to become law in this fashion. This is the most sad and amazing think I have ever witnessed.

Did anyone notice that the other week when Obama came out and said that Healthcare was going forward that he was wearing a purple tie and standing in front of a yellow drape? You always see presidents wearing either blue or red ties, which has always irked me since I think the only way a man in a suit can add some color is with a tie, but they always wear blue or red. So I googled and found out that they wear blue to show fidelity and trustworthiness and red to show power and that they mean what they say. SO, why the purple tie in front of a yellow curtain when he was talking about Healthcare? Was that a silent 'shoutout' to SEIU?

When an adult wears a colored rubber bracelet it is not done without thought. There should be not doubt what the subliminal message is. Someone this week in power needs to draw the distinction, that with several Trillion in additional obligations related to the Health Care Hoax, this will be inevitable.

Purple and gold are their country's colors. They are wearing them to show their patriotism and loyalty to their country, which is NOT the United Sates of America. When one country takes over or occupies another through war down come all the flags and the occupying forces "colors" go up.
On a side note. I am getting sick and tired of all their smug faces even though I know the smugness is orchestrated to get an emotional, irrational response from us so we are at a deficit arguing logically. I find it interesting that Moodys sites the out of control budget and debt service rates as the most likely causes of a downgrade for the US and the UK, so why in the hell are they adding 10 trillion more with this sociaIist scheme?

Unfortunately, after spending much of the past year studying the roots of progressivism, mostly from the writings of its founders, I've realized that progressives seek a global socialist dictatorship ruled by elitists. The LAST voices they are listening to are those of their people who they consider to be beneath themselves. They all want to be kings, and they see "the people" as a bunch of ignorant serfs! They genuinely believe they have a RIGHT to rule! They are tyrants to the core. Regarding the previous comment that a purple bracelet is used for ovarian cancer, I too am very sorry for your loss.
It's unfortunate that after the numerous lies and complete defiance of WE THE PEOPLE, even if their purple bracelets were for cancer, it could never be veiwed as such – having said that, why then don't they just wear ALL the different colors showing support for each? They can't and won't because it is not about supporting anyone or anything other than their own agenda. So even if I were to believe it is innocent (which I do not0, then the yellow drape kills that belief completely. Not a single one of these guys would ever be called a MAN in my book.

I saw Gibbs the obsequious on Chris Wallace yesterday and I so wish that Chris had thrown the fact that SEIU and UNIONS bought Obama the White House when Gibbs was talking about the SCOTUS Citizens United decision. THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN UNION GRAFT AND CORPORATE GRAFT. I applaud the court decision if for no other reason than it admits that they cannot stop illicit funding so why handcuff one group versus another.

My prediction if this thing get 'shoved' through is that at least 25 of the biggest insurance companies in America will immediately file bankruptcy and the resulting economic cataclysm will crush the economy. The 'big ones' are tied into everything and if fortune 500 companies feel the pinch they will lay off 50% of their work forces, followed by their suppliers, the property lease holders and the advertising companies ie the domino effect.
"If" this bill does get through the meltdown will happen at lightning speed and many will not be able to defend themselves against it.

For a year now, nothing positive has happened in this country. It has been stymied by indecision. The dominoes are all lined up ready to fall. If this passes, it will be the first dominoe, and they all will come crashing down.
I only WISH they had some accountants. So far, all I see are activists, community organizers, union thugs, leftist professors and academics, theoreticians and lawyers. Does Obama have anyone, ANYONE advising him who has actually run a successful business or held an office in a private corporation?

Early-onset Alzheimer's runs in my husband's family. (Still no to this national health care farce bill which doesn't even address the problems inherent in the system.) We wear the purple Alz bracelets when appropriate to assist in publicizing the effects of the disease and to help raise research money. We spotted Gibb's bracelet and wondered whom he was supporting. Why during a presser? If it is SEIU, what are they, tween girls showing their fidelity? Why not just get the necklaces with half a heart on each side?

No major business can survive the regulatory onslaught that will come with it and just like the Smoot-Holley Act it will push the economy into an abyss. If I was still running my old company I would shutter the doors on passage as it would take away the motivation for going into business in the first place. I shut down my last business because of tax increases and if that could close the doors of a five person operation I can only imagine what it will do to a company with 10,000 or more workers.
This is economic doom if it gets through.

What people do not understand is that they will not downgrade US debt from AAA to double AA+. They will downgrade it to a much lower rate and re-adjust most every other currency up at the same time.
