Obama Dithered as Economic War Raged
by Kyle OlsonNow President Obama tells us he’s going to take the economy seriously. God help us.
As the war on the economic recession grew bleak and the unemployed body count grew, Obama and the Democratic Congress were bogged down in the quagmires of health care reform and cap-and-trade – wars of choice but not of necessity.

Obama and Congressional leaders dithered on the economy to satisfy their liberal base and deliver on campaign promises of a government takeover of health care, a cap-and-trade system and a scheme to eliminate the secret ballot in union elections.
Fortunately for America, Obama and his Congressional allies have been unsuccessful so far.
In a recent interview with ABC News, the president said he lost touch with the American people because he was so focused on crafting policy. And the result was the special election in Massachusetts that ended in disaster for Democrats.
So Obama has learned his lesson. And what’s his answer to the problem? Beef up his political staff. But first, let’s flash back to shortly after the 2008 election:
“An Obama White House will be focused on meeting the next challenge, not winning the next election,” transition spokeswoman Jen Psaki wrote in an e-mail Friday evening [to Politico.] “That is what he promised in the campaign and that is how he will govern.”
So after the Democrats had their political head handed to them by Massachusetts voters, the president goes into campaign mode because apparently being in ‘policy mode’ wasn’t convincing American voters. I’m sure that wasn’t a flip-flop, but rather a simple evolution. And thus, he’s falling back into the traditional progressive talking points of attacking Wall Street, bankers and insurance companies.
And beyond simply spending more money and racking up more debt, the president and Congressional Democrats have done nothing to spur private-sector job growth. But they don’t want voters to focus on that – they want the focus on what they see as the excesses of capitalism.
So it appears that’s the tack they will take in the coming months in order to court favor with disenchanted American voters. But seeing that Democrats have had an iron grip on power for the last year, they’re doing their best to create the narrative that they’re fighting against something:
“Instead of fearing what may happen, let’s prove that we have more than just the brains to govern—that we have the guts to govern. Let’s fight like hell,” Mr. Plouffe wrote…
But fight whom? Democrats have the votes and the power to do whatever they want. Are they fighting against moderate Democrats? Republicans? The thick-headed American people? Who?
Regardless, they’re going to come out swinging against anyone standing in their way, and we’re guessing they’re not going to discriminate about where the punches land.

Maybe it's best he does spend his time golfing.
"In a recent interview with ABC News, the president said he lost touch with the American people because he was so focused on crafting policy. "
Policy? What policy? The Porkulus and healthcare he subcontracted to Pelosi. What other 'policy' has he implemented, besides the World Apology Tour and shortchanging the troops?
"Regardless, they’re going to come out swinging against anyone standing in their way, and we’re guessing they’re not going to discriminate about where the punches land."
That pertains to anyone,m anywhere, anytime. It pertains to me, and you, and your friends, and your neighbors, and your wife, and your children, and your mother. It even pertains to James O'Keefe being arrested in Louisiana. I feel better now that a hardened criminal like O'Keefe is off the streets, we'll all sleep better tonight.
Granted, the Federal Bureau of Intimidation hasn't quite caught Osama Bin Laden, after nine years, and they have given the Christmas Underwear Bomber quite the coddling, but at least the busted James "Dillinger O'Keefe" !
Thank goodness he's really a centrist! It's true, Newsweek's Jon Meacham says so and Newsweek does NOT lie: (Obama) “is accused of being too radical, but he’s been governing from the middle for a year.”
The middle of what? Does the far, pinko left have a middle, too?
"In a recent interview with ABC News, the president said he lost touch with the American people because he was so focused on crafting policy. "
The policies to overburden the US treasury in order to collapse American Capitalism under its own weight of fiscal responsibility were crafted long before Obama became President.
No debt burden is too much for the Anointed one.
Watch this video and understand the tax system Obama is looking for.

They don't know for sure quite who they are fighting, but rest assured, it is US.
i have visions of castro riding around in a jeep micromanaging sugar plantations.
Barry’s an clueless ideologue whose only economic experience is something he’s read in a book. A Keynesian Kamikaze whose sailing the ship of state (America) straight into the iceberg. But as I’ve said before, you can’t defeat an enemy who hides behind the moderate moniker, so I say… “give’em hell Barry, haul ass left,” we’ll see you again, in November of 2010!!!
No.
It will have to be a shiney new Hummer. They are manufactured by Government Motors.
dooh. lets never complain about that again.
After a thorough criminal fleecing where taxpayer dollars have been poured into into union coffers, poured into Wall Street, poured into nationalized companies like GM and Fannie/Freddie, this gugered bottom feeding leftwing traitor is going to throw the middle class a bone. Why not, he's going to let the Bush tax cuts expire thus netting a gain into the federal coffers. More shell games.
Ladies and gentlemen, we have been completely sold out. The Founding Fathers had a revolutionary war over less; the filth in DC are not statesmen with disagreements, these are unabashed traitors and they deserve to be hanged.
Brass Balled Brazen Barry Bionic Boondoggle continues. The Kenyan Keynesian's Kaleidoscopic Kluster is about to unravel.
they gonna 'speak truth to power' some more.
Maybe it will be a GMC Canyon.
He was defiantly not dithering in 2009.
I too will sleep well tonight know Mr. Okeefe is off the streets…sheesh! Did you see the twelve-year-old troll attack, wow! A group of young people get together and do the job of the MSM, and they must be shot at dawn. I used to hear in the ‘60s and ‘70s, “the ends justify the means…man,” or “stick it to the man,” or “antiestablishment man.” My, my, how we’ve changed in forty years!
"Ladies and gentlemen, we have been completely sold out. The Founding Fathers had a revolutionary war over less; the filth in DC are not statesmen with disagreements, these are unabashed traitors and they deserve to be hanged."
I have always been politicaly active, my entire life. I have been active on this website since day one. Granted, I have said things here tounge in cheek, and in a facetious manner, but always in the vein of humor, parody and satire. I have never advocated violence, of any sort.
With that being duly noted, we are fast approaching the tipping point.
I can hardly wait for the empty suit NO-Bama to get serious about the economy, like it isn't messed up enough already.
CB, you are right, these socialist SOB's will be coming after everyone who isn't of the right mind….anyone who speaks out will be a target….that is the only way they can retain power and control.
The Cass Sustein trolls are the least of our worries. They are a distraction to be expected. The nrealissues ongoing in this country are unsettling, and upsetting. We cannot lose focus, or loose sight of the goal.
The fighting has been within the Democratic party….the moderates against the Socialists. It has been somewhat fun to watch so far, however it isn'g going to be nice for long.
Can we prosecute him for treason and then carry out his sentence on the 6 o'clock news????
Many of the leftwing traitors could be tried and convicted of treason.
Oops – wrong article. why am I on this site again? oh, that's right – the story about the O'Keefe kid. Why do they print other stuff here? Very confusing.
Absolutely. I just want him flogged and waterboarded, then deported.
Yo bro, que paso?

"…the president said he lost touch with the American people because he was so focused on crafting policy…"
Um, shouldn't theTOTUS, I mean the POTUS-"leader of the free world" be able to multitask? The United States Congress, controlled by Democrats-so far, willingly doing his dirty work. Countless numbers of agitators, I mean Czars. How can he not do more than one thing at a time? Oh, that's right. He's never had a real job. Never really ran anything like a city, county or state. Never actually controlled a budget (namely his own;knee deep in personal debt before the presidential campaign). Unless-as he reminded us, one includes his Presidential campaign budget.
how do you 'lose touch' with that which you never had a clue about in the first place?…
Man o man we have THREE more years of this? Clueless posing, empty rhetoric, non-governance and radical
theories posing as policy? Sheeesh! No matter what one thought of the previous administration it was NEVER
like this.
It really leaves one speechless…
Let's give them a target rich environment! They won't be able to swing a dead cat anywhere in this country without hitting at least one of us! LOL!
Actually, the latest word is that he plans on renewing those tax cuts. I am waiting to see see how that plays against the backdrop of "this is all Bush's fault. He ruined everything". Especially since the only successes he is having (and they are few) have all involved extending Dubbya's policies!
This State of the Union speech should be hilarious.
"Obama Dithered as Economic War Raged"
Thank goodness for small favors. Imagine how much worse off we'd all be if he were to actually DO something about the economy.
You say "non-governance" as if it were a bad thing. I would rather the administration engage in empty rhetoric than actually implement some its really, really bad ideas.
"The President said he lost touch with the American people."
This would assume that he ever was in touch with the American people.
The president dithered? Didn't he kick us between the legs? That is not quite a dither.
Atty Orly Taitz sues Obama in Washington DC over his lack of Constitutional eligibility to be the President. Orly’s Quo Warranto filed in DC 1/25/10. Copy of the Complaint can be obtained here.

James,
Thank you. I read the entire complaint. It is interesting.
The events of the past week include Stott Brown’s win, the death of HCR, the Supreme Court decision, Air America folding, and incumbents retiring, These Dem failures are wreaking havoc within their political base. Whether on HuffPo or DKos, The snarking comments, name calling and in-fighting is priceless. Take a look when you get a chance! If that doesn’t immediately brighten you day, check out the rant from this sad withering defeatist (and the responses he gets.)

I'm going to sum things up this way! For some unknown reason this last presidential election, our own government secretly declared war on the American People and abolished the U.S. Constitution by giving to us an illegal president!
Dear Democrats and Republicans,
Why did you give to the American People an ILLEGAL PRESIDENT?
Because the stupid bastardz toked on the pipe of hopeium and voted for the changeium.
He's been governing from the middle of my five fingers! Yep…from right there.
Heya, Conservatives: get your "Don't Close Gitmo", "I'd Rather Be Waterboarding" and other great stickers and stuff at:

He dithers and blunders.
I do not believe any good can come from this man (President Obama). The first rule of the playground is knowing right from wrong. The 2nd rule is you can overcome rule #1 if your a big enough bully (sometimes). We have all seen the arrogant way in which his congress was gonna ram unconstitutional heath care down are throats. Thank god for the American people in Mass. With all the corruption associated with this proposed bill theres no way any sane person would back it. But they were gonna ram it home!!! And now there gonna start helping the American people uhuh.. I was born at night but it wasn't last night.
I understand that he's as good at golfing as he is at running the country. He's just pounding it into the ground.
And he's a blathering dunder-head.
He's going to double down!! I have to admit that takes some giant cajones. The only problem, it is our cajones he's smashing.
This all going to end tragically for the big galoot. He is a walking and talking oxymoron!
.
He is so clueless.
Obama is the poster child why socialism is a discredited economic model.
In the last year we witnessed the raw vulgar display of greed, lies, bullying, arrogance of power, and corruption which are the hallmarks of socialism. That was the tip of the iceberg.
We are lucky we saw it in time for us to react with revulsion before our liberties were lost.
If Obama, the liberal/socialist Messiah can't sell it, then no one can. It's further proof that socialism is a flawed and corrupt model that will never work. People act in their own self interest, and ours was to reject it.
Clinton said the era of big Government was over in 1994 — he's smarter than Obama — he was right.
Congratulations my brothers and sisters of America.
Don't forget the slow motion implosion of the AGW watermellons. I wonder how you can sell carbon credits 'short'?
James, after reading the complaint, all I can say is WOW. In addition to his eligibilty, Soc Sec fraud allegations to boot! Funny, I live in the same area of OC as Ms. Taiz and haven't heard a word about this. We just don't see Chicago thuggery in our area.
he always hooks it, gets in the rough
Each major party nominated their own non-natural born citizen candidate. McCain was born outside the US. Obama's father was not a US citizen.
Obama dithering?
Tonights news is hilarious regarding James O'Keefe.
Just watched the reruns of the night, with Chris Matthews, Keith Olberman and Rachel Maddow. I was quite entertained watching them go through their mental masturbations culminating in a cacaphony of original orgasms as they giggled, and twitched, and gesticulated their way through the news.
It sure doesn't take much to give Chris Matthews the warm and tinglies, eh?
Why should he take the economy seriously? He is employed for at least another 3 years guarenteed. This is one job that he has saved or created, the rest of them don't count.
DIDJA EVER GET THE FEELING THAT OBAMA BELONGS IN A LONG LINE AT McDONALDS, STANDING THERE WITH A FINGER UP HIS NOSE AND WEARING A SHIRT THAT SAYS, "I'M WITH STUPID" AND IT HAS AN ARROW POINTING UP?
O-BOW-MA COUDN'T COME UP WITH A POLICY FOR CLEANING A TOILET.
I THINK THAT 54% OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE OWE ME A BIG @SS APOLOGY FOR ELECTING THIS BUTT-MONKEY.
The Obama Theater of the Criminal Mind goes into Act II, Scene 1tonight. It's all make believe. It's about grabbing money and power. It has never been about you, not your family, or country. It never was.
You've Probably Never Driven Me!
Ford Says' Drive One.
Heads up to market inclined minds.

I don't promote and I'm not into fame. Wrap your heads around this wave because this is getting spicy. We are about truth aren't we?
Holder has dropped all charges – apparently, O'Keefe had the foresight to join the Black Panthers. Smart move, kid.
Evidently so. That's the gag.
The president needs an exit strategy for health care! Quagmire! Quagmire! It's Vietnam!
“An Obama White House will be focused on meeting the next challenge, not winning the next election,” transition spokeswoman Jen Psaki wrote in an e-mail Friday evening [to Politico.] “That is what he promised in the campaign and that is how he will govern.”
How can Obama "govern" when he is still in campaign mode. He never left campaign mode to begin with as evidenced by the exorbitant amount of speeches he has given. This POTUS has no intentions of keeping any of the promises he made on the campaign trail, or any of the promises he will make while POTUS…Other than to possibly bring this country to it's knees by devaluing our dollar to the point of collapse…
Anyone ever heard of Fabian Socialism???

Hang on to your seat. NObama is going to introduce an increase in the Childcare Tax Credit. Wow, this will really turn the economy around. I hear the cash registers ringing right now.
He was NOT dithering at all. He was moving this economy in the direction that would give him the best opportunity to "never let a crisis go to waste". Once he brought the economy to it's knees he was going to pop up and tell us that his marxist (he wouldn't use the word "marxist, he would call it "progerssive") plan to take over the entire economy was in our best interests and that although he didn't WANT to do it, he had no choice and therefore he HAD to do it.
Too bad those ignorant citizens woke up and decided that enough is enough! Bye Bye Barry!
But he's an expert on economic policy. Though he has never even so much as run a lemonade stand, he gave a speech about it once back in high school. He knows.
Obama has not done anything for the economy, however, he has done a lot TO the economy.
"…..NO, NO, not God bless America1, God damn America….."
Obama is riding us dirty.
I never expected much out of the party that campaigned on Change, Hope and "NOT BUSH!"
Somehow I never really translated all that into anything tangible. I liked Bachmann's vote for prosperity a lot more. Alas, Spector says prosperity is not on the agenda.
I just can't top this comment: "Now, President Obama tells us he’s going to take the economy seriously. God (Elohim) help us."
Great post and response! I just loved it! Hey, what could we expect from a Kenyan-born undocumented Hawaiian?
Dare I even mention, who also is an affirmative action educated "idiot!"
Cowboy, you've done it again! Brilliant post! I, too, am afraid of what is coming! Obama is going to seize power, I just know it! He's black and in a perfect position to do so. I've said this in a previous post, but I an sure that "America" and "Great Britain" are the biblical "Israel," not Judah! "Jacob's trouble" will occur when people who came to America after the civil war (Sociologically External Personality Types (followers, not leaders) like our founders, will have us killed by the masses, doing the "world" a favor! PS: Also, remember, obama fired the FBI and CIA and hired "worldly" Interpol!
I only wish! It is "we" who are destined to be hanged! Thanks to the Civil War, we "true" American Citizens have been systematically "replaced" by the "world's gentiles"! Now, we're the enemy in our own country! It's not going to be pretty either, when a domestic terrorist alert is sounded and we're the enemy!
"the president said he lost touch with the American people because he was so focused on crafting policy."
And who, pray tell Mr President, are you "crafting policy" for if not The American People?
At least while he dithers nothing bad gets done!
That's why I never resonated with those "Obama didn't do anything this year" complaints – I WANT him to do nothing! Every time he does ANYTHING it moves us away from freedom and toward socialism in some way. The less he does, the better.
Hey, the parents of those children need babysitters while they go stand on the unemployment lines!
McCain was born on what was US territory at the time (Panama Canal Zone – it was Pres. Carter who gave it away) to American citizens who were in the military at the time. He is therefore considered natural born. Jindal was born in the US to parents who were I'm assuming citizens of the US for at least 5 years. He would then be natural born. If his parents were not citizens at the time of his birth, he might be declared native born and therefore not eligible. More research needed on this one. Obama's father was NEVER a US citizen, his mother was not able to confer her US citizenship upon her son at the time of his birth according to Hawaiian law at the time, therefore if he were actually born in Hawaii, he would be considered native born and therefore not eligible. If he were born in Kenya, he would be a naturalized US citizen (as I don't think he'd be stupid enough to run without being a citizen), but he would still be ineligible. You will notice that his supporters ALWAYS talk about Obama being a US citizen, but never discuss whether or not he is natural born.
C-SPAN aired a debate between Obama and Alan Keyes that ran twice in its unedited form in which Keyes accused Obama of not being a natural born citizen (the only type of US citizen eligible to run for president). Obama said (paraphrasing), "So what? I'm running for the senate, not the presidency." He did not deny the accusation. Further airings of the debate elsewhere edited out this portion. Gee, I wonder why?
Also, various Kenyan newspapers wrote about Obama's run for the US senate in 2004, declaring him Kenyan-born. It's in their archives. British newspapers refer to him as a citizen of Britain.
I wonder how his speach tonight which will villify Big Banks, Insurance companies and anyone outside of GOVT. that gets a bonus will affect the stock market tomorrow?
Will he have the stones (Bet he does) to suggest freezing spending (After doubling the debt.)?
I just hope he uses his condescending tone (Pick-up trucks are a racial thing) to make some points. That should set the tone for Nov. no matter what he does or most likely say's he's going to do.
My biggest fear is that when the Obamatons actually see the writing on the wall (Your gone in Nov.) they will panick and create an emergency to push through their Progressive agenda! It will be on then!
We are in agreement about Obama's ineligibility, even if born in Hawaii, due to his non-US citizen father. But not about McCain.
A natural born citizen is someone who attained his citizenship via the laws of nature and not of man. If you are born on US soil (one of the 50 states or DC) to citizen parents, then you do not need any human law to establish your citizenship. McCain needed a federal statute (a human law) to establish his citizenship, and so he is not a natural born citizen. Furthermore, Panama's constitution considers all persons born in the Canal Zone to be Panamanian citizens at birth.
Jindal's parents were not US citizens at the time of his birth. They were legal immigrants from India, and they were Indian citizens when Jindal was born. They became citizens later, but that does not matter — it is their status at the time Jindal was born that matters. Like Obama, Jindal was a dual citizen at birth (US / India).
Yes, the media does muddy the discussion by using the terms citizen, native-born citizen, and natural born citizen almost interchangeably.
Now, if someone could come forward with a recording of that verbal exchange from that debate, then that would be very telling. So far we just have the statements from a number of viewers. Keyes himself says he does not recall that exchange, but says that it could have occured and he just does not remember.
In addition to those newspaper articles from Africa in 2004, there were a few references to Obama as "son of Africa" when he made that trip to Africa last year. There were African fans of his parading around with signs saying much the same thing.
Hey, found your site by accident doing a search on Google but I’ll definitely be coming back. As for your post… I agree with a lot of what you’re saying here but wouldn’t it be just as easy to move on? I mean why mess with your quality of life if you don’t have to?
U R so crazy, I like your reply.
