There is a distinction here that nobody is looking at. There are money laundering laws on the books; laws to prohibit moving money from one account to another, in an attempt to "clean it" and give it legitimacy. So, let me understand.

Problem with strategy in Afghanistan. Boots on the ground leader makes request for more troops. President Obama says he needs to take the time to study, consult, game plan, think over, reflect on…etc….in an effort to make sure that we under take the very best policy for America. Mind you -and I don't mean to diminish the value (I"m a veteran myself)- we are talking about adding 40,000 livest to the already present lives at stake there. So, we are talking about taking as much time as needed to figure out a situation that directly effects about 100K US lives? And, I agree! He should take the time to figure a proper course of action.

Now, we have mounting evidence that the 'science' behind global heating/warming/implosion is questionable at best; maliciously fabricated at worst. And, President Obama makes NO call to take the time to figure this out, to look at it, to research it, to consult, to game plan? We are talking about something that will transfer industry and wealth away from every single person in this country….forever. We are talking about something that will directly affect over 350M lives today in America…and every life thereafter. Yet, we plow full spead ahead and don't question?

Global warming? Sun spots? Climate change?

Does anyone remember back about fifteen years ago, when this Movement of Minnows was gaining steam and their rallying cry was about the "Hole in the Ozone?" What happened to that? Did it heal itself? Did Al Gore enter space and put a Band Aide on it? Nobody ever talks about it anymore. I am sure that wasn't the Giant Sucking Sound that Ross Perot was talking about, that was Mexico.

I asked my wife about it. She grew up in the southern hemisphere (Almost as far south as you can get and still be on habitable ground) and remembers when the Hole was over her home country. She said that the sunlight is tangibly different–it burns the skin much, much more quickly. It's not a big deal in the States anymore, but it remains a big deal down south.

However, I vaguley remember seeing a study that suggested that there's always been a hole in the ozone, and that it's not necessarily man-made or man-exacerbated.

There is some pretty brazen stuff in the models, just one of which was hard coded values to drive up the numbers for certain years they just figured out what they wanted the graph to look like then plugged in these "modifiers" to make it conform when it didnt.

Imagine if someone like Microsoft inserted code into the NASDAQ computers to do that, change the stock price based on what they wanted it to be. Much more to come as propaganda code AKA the models are unwound.

In a related piece of modeling trash just released to try and change the topic (not in the e-mails) they in essence say use whichever of these data points supports our position and toss out the other.

That's the only criteria, which one agrees with our preconceived notion so if tree rings works this year well tree rings it is, that's a hard coded logic path in another of their so called models.

Except, they announced they threw away the 150 years worth of data, paper records and magnetic tape, they based their "proof" of warming on, back in the 1980's. All that is available is their "massaged" "value-added" data. Like a crimes scene washed down with bleach, no evidence of a crime here, move along people.

Thus we are led to believe there are also no records of the transcribed data, as it was converted to something their modern computers could use, like there was some drone reading each record, manually calculating the adjusted figure, then punching it into the computer, thus the original data never existed in any other format than what they threw out to "save space."

Such a scientifically important historical record, which can never be replicated, was simply tossed out as not needed, by the only organization that had the originals only, there were no copies anywhere. Sure. And the stimulus bill will have created or saved 2 million jobs in time for the State of the Union address as well.

You state in the article that Chicago did not have a day above 90 this summer, I think you missed something, that is because most of Chicago "hot air" is now located in Washington DC.

Without the data, there are no results. They are asking us to accept their check as valid after admitting they took the money out of the bank. The basis of science is reproducibility of results. You do an experiment, publish the results, anyone should be able to recreate the experiment, make their own measurements, and get the same results. In this case all we have are the observations. So anyone with this same data should get the same results. Except, allegedly the sole holders of all these observations has thrown the data out. Therefore there is no reproducibility possible. Therefore there are no valid results. Therefore there is no science. Anything derived from this now non-existent data must be thrown out. And that, would be science.

I remember the rigid and the floppy 8" disks. The rigid disks were invented by IBM in San Jose and called the Winchester 6 shot. Instead of having one hole for tracking sectors, originally they used the lack of a hole to track track 0. And San Jose's early development lab was located on Winchester Blvd., or at least that's how the legend goes.

I never took COBOL but I spent 3 months at IBM's new programmer training school on PASCAL. It was actually a pretty good language, almost as if it were designed for structured programing, which was all the rage at the time, and in my opinion, much better than today's object oriented languages.

I've done a lot of different languages, mostly "C," and Intel and Motorola ASM. I loved programing in assembler. It's like being in the cockpit of a jet fighter. You have access to all the hardware, you can flip any switch you want.

But IBM got out of that business and into services, so I ended up in networking, quality management and Notes database design.

And it makes me mad as hell that I'm so out of practice on programming, or else I'd be diving into the emails that have code snippets.

There is "virtually no possibility" of a few scientists biasing the advice given to governments by the UN's top global warming body, its chair said today.

Rajendra Pachauri defended the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in the wake of apparent suggestions in emails between climate scientists at the University of East Anglia that they had prevented work they did not agree with from being included in the panel's fourth assessment report, which was published in 2007.

The emails were made public this month after a hacker illegally obtained them from servers at the university.

Pachauri said the large number of contributors and rigorous peer review mechanism adopted by the IPCC meant that any bias would be rapidly uncovered.

"The processes in the IPCC are so robust, so inclusive, that even if an author or two has a particular bias it is completely unlikely that bias will find its way into the IPCC report," he said.

"Every single comment that an expert reviewer provides has to be answered either by acceptance of the comment, or if it is not accepted, the reasons have to be clearly specified. So I think it is a very transparent, a very comprehensive process which insures that even if someone wants to leave out a piece of peer reviewed literature there is virtually no possibility of that happening."

The IPCC, which was set up by the UN in 1988, is the world's leading authority on climate change. It advises governments on the science behind the problem and was awarded the Nobel peace prize along with Al Gore in 2007.

Pachauri was responding to one email from 2004 in which Professor Phil Jones, the head of the climatic research unit at UEA, said of two papers he regarded as flawed: "I can't see either … being in the next Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report. Kevin [Trenberth] and I will keep them out somehow – even if we have to redefine what the peer-review literature is!"

Pachauri said it was not clear whether the wording of the emails reflected the scientists' intended actions, but said: "I really think people should be discreet … in this day and age anything you write, even privately, could become public and to put anything down in writing is, to say the least, indiscreet … It is another matter to talk about this to your friends on the telephone or person to person but to put it down in writing was indiscreet. If someone was to say something like this in an IPCC authors' meeting then there are others who would chew him up."

Jones has denied any suggestion that he tried to suppress scientific evidence he disagreed with or that he manipulated data.

Some commentators, including the former chancellor Nigel Lawson and the environmental campaigner and Guardian writer George Monbiot, have called on Jones to resign but Pachauri said he did not agree. He said an independent inquiry into the emails would achieve little, but there should be a criminal investigation into how the emails came to light.

Pachauri said he doubted that trust in the IPCC would be damaged by the affair. "People who are aware of how the IPCC functions and are appreciative of the credibility that the IPCC has attained will probably not be swayed by an incident of this kind," he said.

He pointed out that five days after the emails were made public, Barack Obama announced a major commitment to cutting greenhouse gas emissions ahead of the UN climate summit in Copenhagen.

I don't remember if it was the history or the food channel, but I saw a segment on the Col., and they let part of the secret slip.

Partially cook with a pressure cooker, then move it to the convection oven to finish off. I've been experimenting for some time. But the pressure cooker really wallops the chicken, so timing is critical.

The scientific process says process and data collection aren't supposed to be hidden. If you hide, by definition, it is no longer science. And that's what I've been saying for the last 5 years. I knew this was a hoax back then.

What caught my attention was some of the earlier computer models were written in an old computer language called FORTRAN (Formula Translated). I first came across it in my first computer programming class in 1982 in college.

It was created by IBM for the military and it runs on main frame computers. I also worked at IBM for over 20 years in engineering and information services. If the CRU had any type of decent IS dept. all this is backed up somewhere. You always back up everything on a main frame. Main frames seldom go down, but when they do it can be devastating to multiple teams of users.

One time the IS dept. accidentally erased my virtual "A" drive. I lost everything. Months of source code. It took a few days, and my manager had to sign off on it, but all my data was recovered from automatic back ups down once a week, so all I lost was the work between the deletion and the last back up.

This smells incredibly fishy to me.

Interesting side note to that, when I first came to this country (*gasp* that's right, I'm a legal immigrant AND conservative, I must be from Venus.) ANYWAY, in grade school (I think it was around 9th grade or so) there was an environmental section and the teacher actually attempted to claim the ozone hole was above the US. As you might expect, she was rather annoyed when I suggested that wasn't the case.
