SEIU’s Next Beatdown Victim: Joe Lieberman
by Kyle OlsonIt appears one of the few things standing between SEIU and government-run health care is U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman. That may be the most dangerous place to stand in Washington these days.
The SEIU issued an e-mail screed a few days ago, entitled “Joe Lieberman will hate this,” exclaiming: “Joe Lieberman is at it again. Jockeying for attention.”
Something tells me SEIU fell all over themselves when Lieberman was on the cusp of being elected vice president in 2000, but that was a long time ago I suppose.
Anyway, Lieberman, along with Democratic Sens. Ben Nelson of Nebraska, Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas, and Mary Landrieu of Louisiana are named in the e-mail as “targets” that may join a “Republican filibuster” of a Senate health care reform bill that tops the length of Pelosi’s monster 1,990 pager.
And that, to SEIU, is wholeheartedly unacceptable and likely downright un-American.
Announcing a program to deluge those senators with telephone calls, SEIU explains:
We elected Barack Obama, in part, by calling tens of thousands of voters in key “swing states.” This year is no different. Voters in Arkansas, Nebraska, Connecticut and Louisiana need to hear from us about what’s happening on health insurance reform. (emphasis added)
If the four senators don’t play ball, in the words of SEIU:
If that happens, health insurance reform will not move forward. (emphasis not added)
When asked about the consequences of such a filibuster, Lieberman told Politico:
“I don’t think about that stuff. I’m just — I’m being a legislator. After what I went through in 2006, there’s nothing much more that anybody [who] disagrees with me can try to do.”
It’s becoming increasing clear SEIU will stop at nothing, and beat down anyone standing in the way of the socialist Holy Grail of government-run health care.
So the signal from SEIU to these senators is fairly plain to see: You’ve Been Warned.

Though Lieberman is to the left of Hillary Clinton, he is always right re the War On Terror and now this; though I wouldn't count on him to stick to it. He has always been a far lefty and wishy washy to boot. Perhaps he grew a bit of a spine, though, after what the Dems did to him when he was ousted from running, for re-election, as a Dem.
The SEIU is nothing but a corrupt, illegal entity, that should be investigated and dismantled!
SEIU: your tax dollars at work taking your tax dollars to get more of your tax dollars…or else.
Joe Lieberman is one of the few Democrats that seems to be For the United States. I hope he keeps his eye on the country and remember he had to run against a Democrat to hold his seat in the Senate.
Looks like Nelson and – I'm ashamed right now to be from the state that elected her – Mary Landrieu (aka the 100 Million Dollar Woman) have already caved. As expected, they are claiming that this is not a vote FOR the bill, just a vote "for debate".
God willing, we might have a prayer left with either Liebermann or Lincoln. Unfortunately, tomorrow could be a turning point we look back to in the future as a hallmark of where it "all" started.
SEIU, I wonder if they will start burning down business and houses to get what they want. they want money and power and death of free enterprise.

Rush, Krauthammer, Hannity and Beck among others are ALL scratching their heads in bewilderment as to WHY the Democrats are signing this political suicide pact ! Rush compared them to suicide bombers willing to kill themselves politically over this issue. Certainly there are a myriad of factors to consider but in light of NATIONAL RESISTANCE it still makes little sense to risk losing their seats between 2010 and 2012.

I could not agree more, however, as you know the union thugs and goons are cowards and sissies. That's why they intimidate as a gang or a crowd. I for one would love to see a single SEIU goon meet you for a one on one and I don't mean basketball ! And after you beat him into submission dress him in a skirt and blouse and send him back to the other pansies he calls union brothers…
As an "independent," Joe Lieberman may be the smartest man in Washington. He can fall back on his Democrat creds when needed and his fight will endear him to independent and moderate Republicans in CT. Fighting nationalization of health care will guarantee him another term, so long as he doesn't do anything stupid (like vote for EFCA).
He'll effectively drive a big wedge right up the middle of both parties.
I'm wondering how much farther SEIU and company are going to get, because I know union and Catholics who are absolutely livid over the current Congress, the current Administration, terrorism permitted at Ft Hood, the Afghanistan "decision" betrayal of our troops, civil trials for terrorists, closing Gitmo and HealthCare "reform". These just in the past month. Some seem to be just about spitting mad. I've never seen this kind of backlash, in a very union, very Catholic, East Coast city…There may be hope. It's not just independents who are turning on their elected product, the Left wing base is heading away fast too.

He also, as an independent, earns my respect for not being part of some party-loyalty nonsense. At least none that is apparent. But as leftist as he is, his being independent falls more in line with the intention of the founding fathers than loyalty to socialism in one party, and loyalty to socialism with a religious camouflage in the other.
My thought is that many of these Dems don't care about blowing up their US government careers because they have bigger plans…moving up to GLOBAL government roles once they have helped take us down.
They are such LIARS. They need 60 vootes to take it to debate. They could pretend to debate and change nothing. After that, they only need 51 votes to make it law and Reid already has those. Of course, at that point Landrieu and Nelson will vote against it. Reid gave them political cover. Landrieu and Nelson's constituents should remember the 2 traitors at the ballot box. Although I think Landrieu is a lost cause because some of her constituents are perennial "victims."
I think a large portion of the stimulus bill will be going to buy the 2010 elections. Holder will never investigate crime against his leader. Holder sold out long ago.
I think it's possible there will be a coordinated attack (think "crisis" here) somewhere in the US just prior to the 2012 presidential election so that The Won can declare martial law.

I believe that declaring Marshall Law has been in the plan from the beginning…They have created many "built in" excuses with which they can use….The economy….disease…a criminal trial in New York…That will also signal the start of a dark and dangerous road for this country…
Americans need to start calling the head SEIU office tens of thousands of call a day or what ever can be done to make there phone lines melt, most of the people they are calling are on “no call lists” so how do that get those numbers, maybe they are using one of those illegal dialing boxes that tell-a-marketers use.
But we need to give them a little of what they are trying to dish out and make them shake a little.
So Mary Landrieu is willing to sell her last minute vote and it only cost us $100 million .. and sad to say, Ben Nelson will likely sell out too. Of course, it's obvious that the desperation bail out money, much of which has not been disbursed and which has not helped unemployment one bit, is a slush fund for bribes and payoffs Obama and Reid/Pelosi use at their discretion to purchase votes they can't get any other way. And what is wrong with this picture? What's wrong is it is politics as usual in Washington, taking as much of our taxpayer money as they can get their grubby hands on to take more of our money. But let us not forget that Landrieu will likely be praised and applauded back at home for "bringing home the bacon" and never mind how she got it. As they say, all voters hate all politicians except for the one representing them! Will it take the total collapse of our economic system for Americans to realize there is no free lunch?

I am able to walk again after 8 months of operations, thank God for good Doctors and good Insurance. I am so lucky that I found a good young Doctor who could not only read a Ct scan but knew how to fix the problem. I am doing serious pysical therapy to be fully mobile by Christmas. Between the drugs and the pain, I was just able to work and sleep. I am glad that I missed most of the Obama nightmare. But I guess I woke to see the rest of his agenda being shoved down our throats.

Not even close still in my 40's. Yes i listen to Fox and CNN when Fox is not available. I just seem to be blessed with more health problems than most. I don't let the health issues stop me, in Feb, I was the only person in Nigeria in a wheelchair. Tough place on wheels but when I'm there in March next year, I will actually be able to walk around. In most places CNN is as close to real news but the internet is almost everywhere now.
No my view of reality is that of most people, you take your lumps, thank God for your blessings and keep working as hard as you can for your family. I think most of the people I know are doing just that. Until you are slightly taller than waist high for 3 years, that is an inconvience but my family and I still consume so I work. I have kids that go to private school and College coming at me like a freight train so I keep working. Luckily I work for myself but have to push myself to work harder becasue we have inflation coming and right now is the time that my future and that of my families will be made on.
