Bertha Lewis’s “Sista From Another Mista,” Randi Weingarten

[See a related sidebar below.] Randi Weingarten, the president of the AFT, had previously been the president of the United Federation of Teachers–the New York City teachers’ union.
Bertha Lewis, before becoming the CEO and chief organizer of ACORN, had headed up the New York chapter of ACORN.
Weingarten’s UFT had hired Lewis’s ACORN to help unionize 28,000 day care workers and bring them into the UFT fold. Just what exactly does the UFT know about child care? From ACORN itself:
“For us, it’s an educational issue and a moral issue and an economic justice issue,” [Weingarten] said.
From 2006 to 2008, ACORNcracked.com has been able to account for over $1.2 million in dues dollars from New York City teachers going to ACORN. And Weingarten earned a special recognition from ACORN earlier this summer at its 39th anniversary gala, hosted by chief AFT rival, the National Education Association.
Weingarten and Lewis are so tight, Lewis introduced her “sista from another mista,” Randi Weingarten, at a Working Families Party event in 2008. You can see that here:
When ACORN came under fire for widespread voter registration fraud accusations, Randi Wiengarten stood with her fringe comrades to defend the group in a cloak of fighting “voter suppression.”
Weingarten has brought her ACORN connections with her and now that she is on the national stage with the AFT, I’m sure that will mean only good things for our nation’s schools. Yeah, right.
Regarding AFT’s threat
But why do I bring this up and ask you to visit AFTexposed.com? We recently received a threatening letter from the General Counsel of the AFT (and CCing Randi Weingarten), demanding we shut the site down. AFT’s leaders apparently fear the information receiving wide-spread attention so they want to silence us, in typical union fashion. So a word to Randi: you’ll have to figure out how to put a website in cement shoes (after all, you are affiliated with the AFL-CIO) to silence us and stop our work. Your attempts at intimidation won’t get you very far.

Big Government posted this thread earlier today, at the same time they posted the latest version of the Rush thread. It was up long enough for me to post one post on it, wherein I referred to Randi Weingarten as Bertha Lewis' "sista from another mista." The administrator knows it is so what I write. You pulled the thread, and redid it and just re-posted it.
Come on boys, the only way you can do this, and make Big Governemt work, is to play it straight up. If you start pulling the disengenious bullshit that the MSM does, you'll loose members quicker than poop through a goose. Traffic here is dropping rapidly, and you need to do something to prop up the interest.
If you continue to play "shuffle the deck" with the threads, and censor posts, it won't work.

I don't think the title of this "Peice" is racially motivated, any more than Obama "winning" the Noble Piece Prize was racially motivated. You should have listened to the video. ACORN seems to have it's tentacles embedded everywhere anymore.
These groups are all cross pollinated with the socialist gene by the same people who have made it their life's work to work the system. We still vastly outnumber them. Glad another one is exposed.
I looked at the AFTexposed.com, and looks like the militant lesbians have taken over the teachers unions like they did NOW, and are working on their own narrow agenda of gay rights and politicizing our kids and our schools — but what about better education for the kids? Another day, another outrage.
The thing that makes me cringe as a conservative is why even use a title like this. Even in Rush defending himself against the NFL charges, his screener Bo Snerdley (who in a delicious twist of irony is black) had to "blacken up" his defense of Rush by saying "yo" every few seconds. The black community could really benefit from the conservative message…why, though we are not racist, do we keep poking at them in this way.
And yes I know it's a quote from Lewis. So if you attack my point understand that I know that. Why use "sista" and "mista" in the title. It can be dealt with in the story.
But, this no different from "BranJolina" or "WackoJacko". People will poke fun at you when you live your life in the public domain. Randi is no different just because she and her ilk have been hiding in the shadows hoping that no one paying their bills figured out what they were up to. Rush Limbaugh likewise is a public figure and even though the "media" is now recanting their recent defamation, some people believe he is a racist. Nothing to do about it. Wouldn't be good headline if it was not catchy.
Net, net is these people are cockroaches. What they have done to this country is vile and disgusting. Please don't go all utopian and politically correct, it was the League of Nations and "no more wars" that started all this crap with a simple and seductive utopian thought…

Speaking as a really really white person, what is so offensive about the "sista from another mista" in the title? It's a direct quote from Lewis, and it concisely conveys the fact that Lewis and Weingarten are idealogical twins. The author put quotes around the phrase in the title, so it's understood that the words are not his.

Keep the spotlight on them….they are corrupt. Look at their by-laws. They talk about ensuring healthcare for everyone. Now why would a union do this? If they get their way, they'll be taking benefits away from the workers they represent. Your statement is rather confussing. Are you being sinicle, and that is why your spelling etc.. is bad or are you a product of this educational system? The subject is about education which benefits all races. If the race card doesn't work, are you going to procaim in a loud voice- IT'S BUSH'S FAULT? Are you supporting UFT without looking at how this Union and its affiliates wants to only use children to enhance a political agenda? I am no friend of Obama, and there is not one ideology that he and I would agree on, I do not want him to succeed at what he is doing, but we should wish him well in all other aspects of his life. His children need him. We will just have to keep the likes of him away from our government. I wish we had a legal way to remove him before the 3 more years we have to endure, but who knows it might show up in one of these investigations. I do not believe that he is a legal president and I am sure something is bound to turn up. Having recently had a comment go into the black hole of "administrator approval" I understand where you are coming from Cowboy. But I have also seen other stories posted, disappear, then reappear again. Most often, there has been a problem with a link, or some other technical issue. I can't say I know enough about the technical side to be authoritative about it. It would be nice if comments made in the first posting were also saved and re-posted when the article reappears, but I can't say whether that is practical. I do think that the site has done enough so far to merit the benefit of the doubt.

this is most interesting…….great to read their financial reports. Can you believe the Teachers Union President makes almost as much in annual pay as the President of rth USA???? Look at the hundreds of high paid salaries to union employees that do nothing more than steal union dues from about 1 million members, then pay themselves huge salaries, and then spend most of their time and union members dues organizing their members for political means to lobby politicians for more pay and better benefits. Who are the real criminals here???
Now I want to read the financial statements for other unions like SEIU, AFL-CIO, etc etc ….should be fun to see what those guys make and where all the dues are being spent.

The 2009 LM-2 is only a part of the puzzle, that only shows the per capita – what the national AFT gets from the union members. In addition, there are additional dues going into the locals.
I think the corruption in the AFT goes deeper. When they organized my workplace, we fought them but the corrupt Gov of NJ (Corzine) backed them up and shut down our employer from providing information on why we didn't need a union. They did a card check and not a secret ballot.
When they did a vote for their outrageous union dues (1.25%), we kept beating them in the vote and voting it down, until they did the vote on a Saturday….and all these people I had never seen before showed up to vote. I've worked there for 21 years and know a lot of people and I have no idea where these people came from. I don't doubt they were from Acorn, and not really employed. I wish I could prove it.

I need a little help with the interpretation of this. The way I read this case below, if an intermediate union of public employees falls under the AFT national that covers private employees in addition to public employees, locals (even if they are all public employees in the local) are subject to the LMRDA. Is that correct?

No, believe it or not, I get all your points. I LOVE Rush but I'm making a small but important (I think
) point. And that is that let's never use black slang as a punch line. I thought what Bo Snerdly said on the show in content was great…and I love making liberals cringe…but some few of us conservatives use black slang as a punch line and despite our true intentions it seems like we're poking a finger in the eye of a group that doesn't need it, want it or is even open to our message. Most black folks I know DO speak the same way as any one of us and though they reflexively vote Democrat, often have no ideals in common with that party. Let's speak seriously of race. You would still quote the "sister" comment in the article because it's part of the story but we can start for one by not writing it as "sista." It's like liberals making fun of the way Southerners talk. It's not cool.

Lewis said what she said, ergo, it make no sense to not quote her/use the quote as a headline. If blacks don't like it, remember, they won't like it any the less, if her words were cleaned up. It's not as though whoever wrote the title was changing what she said; they didn't do to her, what was done and continues to be done to Sarah Palin, Condi Rice, President Bush the younger, etc. !
