Rathke’s Reach: Critical ACORN Doc Found on Asian Website

It has been well-documented that last year Rathke “left” ACORN U.S. to head over to ACORN International and export ACORN’s brand of organizing and tactics. He has since changed the group’s name to Community Organizations International.
ACORN Community Organizing Model is not the type of document ACORN would wish to have on the Internet. For ACORN, is tantamount to Eisenhower’s plan for D-Day being printed on the front page of the Washington Post. Not a good thing for the ultra-secretive group.
Consider this frank section of “SETTING UP THE ORGANIZING DRIVE:”
2. Contacts: The whole process of making contacts is built on a pyramid theory. Make one that leads to others. The purpose of contacts is to gather information and resources, and to build power. There are three types: hot, warm, cold. The hot contacts are people we have met before at some point in the organization’s history. Check the biographical file in the state office. Warm contacts are those we have not met but know something about in order to build an edge, i.e. we have an opener or a handle for the conversation – something they did, someone they know who we know, some reason to believe we can hit the core. The cold contacts are those people we must meet for some reason, yet we have no lead to them. The only edge there is simply an organizer’s skill in prying information and setting up his/her ego in order to loosen her/his tongue in person or on the phone. It’s a skill to be perfected, if you’re greasy, you are in the hole.
Groups such as Leaders and Organizers of Community Organizations in Asia clearly didn’t nor don’t understand the pressure and scrutiny ACORN has faced over the last several months. But their foolishness or naivete is the ACORN’s researcher’s gain.

I really don't see how this is bad or controversial. It's the same kinda thing you would see any charitable organizer or even a recruiter say. ACORN is putting poor people in apartments, not scheming world take over. Quit getting your panties in a bunch over nothing. Go look at what Halliburton/KKR has done with tax payer money and they're still getting no bid contracts. Now that was a clear connection to the executive office.
Multilevel marketing. at least amway has good chemicals.
Maybe they have a ACORN strength disinfectant for Dirty Bertie.

Okay, now we have the obligatory statement from a (paid?) ACORN "denier."

That alone is something no professional organization should ever put in any of their publications, the potentially-imagined sexual overtones are too strong. If there is anything else similar to this one comment that arguably could have "slipped through" then it would be a great candidate for a lawsuit or governmental action.
Gee, while I am not accustomed to reading such documentation, it sure seems to me like a barely-polite way of classifying people based on how much dirt they have on them and how much they can use it to their advantage. Like the unmentioned tactics of slimy political hardball were written out as Standard Procedure.
And people still defend ACORN? Going on this, I wonder how much dirt ACORN has on their "willing" defenders.
The more I read, see and learn about ACORN, the more aghast I feel. I simply cannot believe that there is a sitting president (nobel-prize winning) that was once affiliated with this group.
I'm going back under my rock, where it's safe.
This type of document is standard fare of every community organization. It is how you organize, you must know people who have the power to create change. What is more sinister is how many US Community Organizations are going international. Just imagine the havoc that ACORN has played in our electoral process going on in just about every nation in the world. Also multiply that havoc times the number of organizations that will start using the same tactics as ACORN
Acorn has not played any electoral havoc. An article on THIS VERY WEBSITE states that only ONE case of voter fraud can be related to Acorn , and even that looks like the guy was just a crook and had nothing much to do with Acorn anyway.
This document shown above means nothing , you could find stuff like this in any number of business books for sale at any airport.
As I have stated so many times before, those in charge of Acorn either Bribed or Blackmail Political leaders in some way shape or form in order to get what they want. This organization is not about helping the poor but about Money & Power. When the truth comes out alot of City Hall assessors and HUD and Hano employees will see time in Jail.
As to the first comment by Eddie, Please do not take this as an insult against you however the group that ran Acorn in New Orleans the Attorney's at Acorn in New Orleans set me up on fake rape charges in 1999. How did they manage this feat? They ran the police Union and the head of the sex crime unit was also the head of the UNION, Acorn ran the Police Union. Not only did they manage to have a rape charge filed against me but my office phones were illegally wiretapped.
I spent 4 months in a cell in New Orleans, and I will live to see the day that all involved will end up in prison. So much for Civil Rights
Here is where the ACRON apologists are wrong: the article displays that the interlinking networking tactics used by ACRON are now spreading internationally. All the more reason to make sure they don't get any taxpayer subsidies.
How about we common sense people who wish to govern our own lives and resources in freedom–you know, not having to sweat to make bread we only get to half enjoy?–infiltrate ACORN as hot leads? The socialists and statists did it to the universities and churches and government bureacracies decades ago, it's about time for pay back!
If Obama had never become President, ACORN would be in the news a lot less.
The FACT he represented them is the kicker.
