Candidates Who Invoke ‘Climate-gate’ Could Get Boost in 2010
by Kevin MooneyClimate-gate could further complicate the re-election prospects of congressional representatives from industrialized states who are already playing defense over the economic costs of climate change legislation.

Thousands of emails leaked to the Internet from the Climate Research Unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia in the United Kingdom appear to substantiate a growing body of research that questions the idea of man-made global warming. Climate-gate has the potential to emerge as an unexpected gift to Republican candidates in this year’s midterm elections. But there’s the rub.
With the exception of Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.), and a handful of other elected officials, Republicans have been reticent to engage and debate the dubious claims of human induced global warming, laments Steve Milloy, editor and founder of JunkScience.com.
“Too many of them don’t understand the issue and the extremism that stands behind green activism,” he observes. “They are afraid of being labeled as anti-environment and are just not well-equipped or well informed enough to confront policies that could result in an unprecedented expansion of government power.”
At the very least, 2010 Republican challengers could invoke the email scandal to demonstrate how research has been falsified and distorted to advance a political agenda at odds with the economic well-being of many Americans. This in turn could open the way to a larger discussion of global warming science and the role of the United Nations.
Waxman-Markey (H.R. 2494), which passed the House last year by a 219-212 vote in June, calls for reducing total U.S. greenhouse gas emissions by 83 percent below 2005 levels by 2050. The legislation would impose a “cap and trade” regime that limits the amount of carbon dioxide that could be released into the atmosphere. Companies exceeding their prescribed limit would have to buy “carbon allowances” in a government-contrived system.
At least six Democratic senators are now urging the White House to back away from pushing “cap and trade” in the midst of an election year. Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.), Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.) and Sen. Kent Conrad (D-N.D.) are among those who have expressed reservations.
Virginia’s Bob McDonnell very deftly turned Waxman-Markey back against his Democratic opponent in last year’s race for governor. His landslide election victory should encourage other Republican candidates looking to capitalize on economic concerns.
“Cap and trade is opposed by most employers in Virginia because they see what it’s going to do to the cost of goods and services,” McDonnell explained in an interview. “It is strongly opposed by the coal industry, for instance, which is vitally important to Southwest Virginia. Cap and trade is just bad policy and the more citizens understand that it’s going to increase their electricity rates over time the more they are going to oppose it.”
Nationwide data measuring the impact of Waxman-Markey in a new study commissioned by the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) and the American Council for Capital Formation (ACCF) yielded the following results:
- Cumulative loss in gross domestic product (GDP) up to $3.1 trillion (2012-2030)
- Employment losses up to 2.4 million jobs in 2030
- Residential electricity price increases up to 50 percent by 2030
- Gasoline price increases (per gallon) up 26 percent by 2030.
The NAM/ACCF study includes data on all 50 states.
In Virginia, for example, the NAM/ACCF study estimates that at least 41,400 jobs could be lost by 2030 as a result of lower industrial output that would follow from higher energy prices. Virginia residents would also see their disposable income reduced by $103 to $235 per year by 2020 and $608 to $1,096 by 2030 as a consequence of Waxman-Markey.
There’s no question that industrial states stand to lose the most and this should become a point of contention in 2010, just as it was in the Virginia governor’s race. But free market advocates who are looking to unseat cap and trade proponents now have the added benefit of climate-gate.
Even as cap and trade stalls in the U.S. Senate, the Obama Administration now appears poised to use the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) endangerment finding on Co2 to make an end run around democratic channels.
This maneuvering suggests that the economic arguments standing alone will not be sufficient over the long-term and must be co-joined with scientific data that can be included in litigation challenging the endangerment finding. But Republican candidates should get started now in exposing anti-scientific research that underpins alarmist positions on global warming.
In their messaging to voters they can draw from the expertise of numerous, well-credentialed skeptics who have found expression for their own research, despite the best efforts of the scientific establishment.
Over 31,000 scientists, including over 9,000 Ph.Ds, have signed off on a petition circulated through the Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine that states human activity is not responsible for causing catastrophic disruption of the earth’s climate system. Moreover, over 700 scientists have now endorsed a U.S. Senate minority report that questions man-made global warming.
Charles Dunn, dean of the Regent University School of Government based in Virginia Beach, Va., sees opportunities for Republican candidates running in parts of the south and the mid-west especially. As it turns out, these are some of the same states that would be disproportionately affected by cap and trade.
Liberal media organs and Democratic operatives sought to make an issue out of McDonnell’s connection with Regent University during the campaign. In the end, Dunn suspects this coverage may have actually benefitted the Republican candidate in that it further heightened his esteem among social conservatives. Consequently, McDonnell was better positioned to make an issue out of energy policy because his base was already solidified, he surmises.
Throughout the campaign, McDonnell emphasized his support for expanded nuclear power and for offshore drilling. That’s what the public likes to hear and Republican candidates in other states can build on this approach by asking their Democratic counterparts to account for the junk science that constrains American ingenuity.

Even Orwell missed out on the extremists claim that bitter cold weather is due to global warming. Republicans better make hay of Climate Gate for it was gift wrapped by the Dems.
“They are afraid of being labeled as anti-environment and are just not well-equipped or well informed enough to confront policies that could result in an unprecedented expansion of government power.”
Sell yourselves as sober stewards of the land, emphasizing "responsible use" of our resources. Make the other guys defend their belief that "prosperity equals exploitation".
Sure Glowbull warming causes this cold winter weather, just like a house fire causes your house to be nice and cool. Makes sense.
Now that "climate change" has been revealed as the hoax many thought it was, conservative candidates can suceed, but they need to inform the public, since the MSM has ignored this issue altogether. They should adopt the attitude that "climate change" has already been debunked, in the same way that its' advocates assumed that it was already occuring, and that anyone who still promotes it is seriously out of touch with current events.
This attitude has the added benefit of being true.
The candidate can point out that we no longer need to be shackled by a non-existent problem and that we can return to producing energy with gusto, resulting in a resurgence of our economy and cheaper energy prices, which, in turn, makes us more competitive in the global marketplace.
Joe Romm on cClimate progress claims this blizzard season comed from man made causes. He is a mental midget in physics. He also says the cause is different than a blizzard 100 years ago. Joe has the law of physics changed???
Joe is funded by George Soros. Soros is an indicted trader in securities.
Global Warming Weather Front Al Gore has hit the entire Nation with record cold temps. This is the scam of our life time. The Media and Higher Education sold out long ago to the Al Gore's of the world. Now we know how far they were willing to go.
If logic and truth informed political votes, we would never have been saddled with President Obama. Still, here's hoping self-interest, if not basic logic, is sufficient to unseat the progressive idiots!
Where ever Al Gore is, I'm sure he is not as cold as I am right now! With a broken heater we cannot afford to get fixed and two small room heaters, it's still freezing here…and I live in Florida!!
Global warming/Climate change is the modern day "Emporer's New Clothes" story, which was a collaborative effort of Algore, the EPA, and the far left. We are at that part of the story when the nonsense is exposed.
It is not terribly surprising that all the turmoil in our world is caused by people who make absolutely nothing but noise. Get a real job.
He's shoveling greenbacks into his industrial sized furnace to heat his mansion, pool, and guest houses.
I'm glad I live in Virginia!

One thing is clear in Massachusettes. If Scott Brown gets in there won't be a huge push for wind turbines off the coast of the Cape because he is for drilling and using our own source(s) of oil to replace foreign oil buying and helping our own economy and job market "until" other souces of energy are "fully" in place. Not a bad idea huh?
Any Republican at this point that still believe in "Al-Gore-man-made-global-warming" is a RINO (period).
We need to come up with another term instead of GATE, as in climate-GATE. Every time I hear something-GATE it makes me think of water-GATE and Nixon and the republicans.
Why not call it what it really is CLINATE-SCAM or something to that effect?
Just a thought.
Inhofe holds his ground. I wish Bush would have. Bush made it acceptable for RINOs to embrace climate change. We need more folks like Inhofe, who aren't statist shills.
Now what ever became of climategate? I mean it is trotted out and dusted off on this blog every week or so for the entertainment of the fringe. But what is happening in the rest of America? I did a quick google search on "climategate" and couldn't find a single dated press report after the middle of December. Not even from Fox News. So what happened? They told us it was game over, liberal hoax exposed.
The problem for the media was the outrageous conspiracy claims by the e-mail thieves did not produce any new evidence. When climate scientists produced peer-reviewed journals from 2005 containing the same language as the e-mails it all fell apart. Much of it was even referenced in the 2007 IPCC report, according to Newsweek.
The responsible media have reputations to protect, so they had to move on. Any denier scientist couldn't risk what little credibility they have remaining, so they melted away too. That leaves bloggers like old Kevin here, and talk radio. There is no need for credibility in either place, so I don't expect it to die anytime soon. Just remember when you reference climategate in your denier arguments, it has all been discounted by the public and you risk sounding even more foolish than usual.
There is only one thing that has enough power and influence over our climate to cause any lasting climate trend — its that big fiery thing up in the sky — called the sun — you may have heard of it.
The sun is in low phase right now, meaning that its output is slightly less than normal and that's why we are having colder weather. It won't always remain in low phase — eventually it will cycle into slightly higher than normal output. This is all known and normal, the sun's cycle has been known by science for more than a century. But as soon as the sun come out of low phase, which could be years from now — expect the global-warmers to start screeching again that they were right all along.
Don't be fooled by this scam, its just a scam to get your money and to destroy your liberties, those are the real goals behind the climate change scam. Man does not and cannot control the climate.
I just read a story somewhere else that a UN scientist says we are in a warming pause. And another story that cooling could last 20-30 years.
If there models are accurate, shouldn't we have heard about this?
I would hope that he'd be in favor of wind turbines – as close to the Kennedy compound as humanly possible.
Google is part of the AGW crowd. Al Gore is a senior advisor to Google. "climategate" searches on google are dwindling as we speak.
Use Bing or Yahoo! and see for yourself.

There is a fantastic article today outlining everything you need to know about Climategate at
http://commentarama.blogspot.com/2010/01/climateg...
I highly recommend it!
The global warming religion is do deeply ingrained in the non-thinking population that it probably smart for politicians to avoid it. At lease for the time being.
Thanks Mega, I'm glad you liked it.
I don't agree that google is some kind of liberal conspiracy, but I did as you suggested and did my "climategate" search term on Yahoo and Bing.
Again, lots of right wing blogs come up, but no dated press reports after early December. And it is press reports that bring the breaking developments to the public. I know Fox News will get talking points off of blogs and report them as news, but very few voters get their news there.
If there are any new developments we will hear about them in the news headlines. My point is that right now, you are preaching to the converted.
The fringe? What you deny the facts, I've shown you. You deny the polls too?
Global warming is lie. Give up you lose.
I know it and you know it.
I ca't wait for the official death in Mixico City in 2010.
LOL
A trillion dollar scam with a few to claim the profits for themselves. They will throw some crumbs to the scientists that made up this mess. If people would read the scientific history of Earth & understand the world has been going through these type of trends throughout it's life span of over 6 billion yrs. We are now to believe that we are destroying a 6 billion yr. old planet that has survived catastophic events (meteors, massive volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, etc.) over the coarse of a 100 to 150 yrs. To say it out loud sounds even more ridiculous. Find the money & you found the Holy Grail of the global warming science.
No. That would destroy everything the Climate folk wants us to believe. People who are now putting this information out feel much more comfortable in doing so because of the hacked data showing the fraud. Scientists who came to that conclusion have been threatened or drowned out by the Climate Nazis'. Since the fraud is exposed we can have our scientists showing the truth.
Global warming has always been about the money James you are correct.
Enviornmentalism in and of itself is laudable. I am a Native American I have a deep ansestoralo
If I were the GOP I would draw parallels between the closed door midnight politics of health care with the EPA ruling and Crap-N-Tax schemes, the anger from the former could easily be applied to the later.
We might not get our open debates on climate now, but framed correctly people would start asking why the administration and the leftist refuse to have an honest conversation if the science is so settled and it would be a nice setup for the 2010 elections and put them on the defensive.
Knowledgeable and esteemed scientists are speaking out about the “Global Warming” scam. Since the liberal MSM was very complicit in perpetuating this hoax, they ignoring the findings and articles of these scientists and will probably continue to so.

Excellent post Sil, thanks for the links.
I'm sure a statist troll like you is really seeking knowledge on the biggest Scientific fraud of the Century….hide out in your Lefty delusionland and watch as Rajendra Pachauri (UN IPCC fake climatic expert) is brought to trial for his thieving of billions in the name of hopey/dopey change.
You're in good spirits today Bill. Must have woken up on the "right" side of the bed.
I do enjoy Huffington Post. It is a different environment there. The posts are screened for personal attacks and you have to stay focused on issues. If you violate the terms they can you.
I believe global warming is happening all around us and is being caused by man. But we've been down this road and haven't changed any minds so nothing left to do but take our ideas to the polls.
My belief system is what it is and not likely to change by any of the arguments on this list. Still, I'm reading it and taking it in. Maybe I'll run into someone who can change my mind.
But just to let you know, the ad homs won't get it done.
There isn’t much going on with Climategate right now, the last big news was that Phil Jones (director of the East Anglia CRU) was fired and the matter is under investigation.
Your so called “responsible media” didn’t even cover the story when it broke or for twelve days after it broke for that matter. So why would you expect them to cover it now?
http://www.businessandmedia.org/printer/2009/2009...
The liberal media ignores conservative news. Don’t hold your breath to hear about Climategate from ABC, CBS, CNN or NBC. By the way, if you think the liberal media is so responsible then why are they going broke and being pounded in the ratings by more conservative outlets like Fox?
But if you think the general topic of climate-fraud is out of the news, you had better think again. Here’s a nice article linked at Drudge today.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-12...
For an annotated commentary on the e-mails from start to finish there is none better than this. http://assassinationscience.com/climategate/
An example is:
"With just months until the Kyoto Climate Conference, we find the germ of this idea fertilizing in an email from Joe Alcamo, Director of the Center for Environmental Systems Research in Germany, to Mike Hulme and Rob Swart:
Sounds like you guys have been busy doing good things for the cause.
I would like to weigh in on two important questions—
Distribution for Endorsements—
I am very strongly in favor of as wide and rapid a distribution as possible for endorsements. I think the only thing that counts is numbers. The media is going to say “1000 scientists signed” or “1500 signed”. No one is going to check if it is 600 with PhDs versus 2000 without. They will mention the prominent ones, but that is a different story.
Conclusion—Forget the screening, forget asking them about their last publication (most will ignore you). Get those names!"
And much much more.
Fox news @ 1800est tonite, and Mik buy a thermometer.
No one is attacking you mikatollah, no one is casting Ad hominems at you. But I'm glad you've admitted that facts don't matter with you. You simply BELIEVE. You are a "True Believer" and that's your right. Global warming is indeed a religion and you are one of the devout and that's fine, as long as it makes you happy.
Now, your calling us "deniers" — now that would be an example of an ad hominem attack because the term "denier" was usually reserved for Holocaust deniers and of course there is no reason to compare any of us with those kind of people.
Great post James, one of the best links I've seen, good job
I'll bet you that about 66 % of those who support him live in squalor and the rest live as he does!
Simply put, I will not vote for anyone who stiil buys into this scam.
"CLIMATE-SCAM" ACTUALLY TELLS IT LIKE IT IS!
A lot of folks on this list send me to U.K. links. It is a trend I have noticed.
If you are right and I am wrong, then climategate will stay alive and the networks will be force to cover the story.
Liberal media is not going broke. MSNBC and CNN are doing just fine (not that CNN is liberal). Air America is finding its way. Fox is doing well by cable standards. But not because of the quality of their reporting, but because they have found a right wing niche that panders to a small group of conservatives and news junkies like myself.
Now if you are referring to print media, well, they are all struggling to survive in an instant internet age. I saw where Washington Times is facing financial problems and the Rev. Moon is shopping it around.
I watch the second half hour of Bret Baier every night. And I try not to miss Rachel.
I guess I don't understand how you can say that Fox is doing well because it found a "niche." I think on some nights Fox has more viewers than all the liberal networks combined — that's SOME niche.
Mik's kind of right, global warming will occur, but not until the "Nukes" start detonating!!!
That's right, just "FOLLOW THE MONEY!"
I don't even have a religion religion, let alone some kind of climate religion. Science is by definition not based on faith. I hear this all the time from deniers and its a tactic to confuse the language. When we've changed the meanings of all the words it will be impossible to communicate.
Global cooling special on tonite w/ Bret Baier I heard. but I can't find now. Maybe one of their morning nitwits said, I donno…
Mik you watch MSNBS?
I'm just gobsmacked…
I suppose you don't know that in America over 40% consider themselves conservative & only 20% liberal. Who's got a niche. Can you explain the adjustments up at temperature stations in urban heat areas? It should have been down & cherry picking those type sites you wouldn't think these fake scientists would need to lie as well!
It is the nature of conservatives. They tend to like their news with a healthy dose of right wing spin. Nothing wrong with that, but they won't look anywhere else. They are conspiracy driven and think that the media is some kind of liberal plot and see liberalism behind every issue that doesn't go their way. So, they tend to stick with Fox. Good if you are Fox, but bad for news consumers who are only exposed to tailored news.
I don't think it's tonight, but if it is on I will check it out.
Pretty good trolling. You've gotten this far without name calling. But you blew it when you started repeating the same Liberal talking points about FoxNews. And I loved the CNN is not liberal line!! And NO, CNN and MSNBC are NOT doing fine. Maybe you should check your sources again…or rather check WHO those sources are, because they sure aren't telling the truth.
I've seen the poll you refer to from 2008. But when you poll them on individual issues, the ideas you would consider liberal do very well.
Forty percent of Americans do not watch Fox News. Fox gets about 3 million viewer in the evening so it's more like one percent. The networks poll about 6 million each. CNN and MSNBC together will get maybe two million between them.
Fox should send Obama a royalty check for all the right wing viewers that have been tuning in since the election.
Just my opinion wolf. But every time I turn to MSNBC they are on the air giving the right the dickens. As long as that continues I'll be fine. And like I said, I'll tune into Fox in the evening too.
And you also miss the point that fox is available on far LESS cable and satellite systems than all those other channels, but yet still beats them.
And no, when you poll them on individual ideas they are even MORE conservative. You're going off the deep end now. Your opinion =/= facts.
Poor mentally incompetent, dysfunctional and factually ignorant Mikatollah. Individuals are so liberal on social issues "you would consider liberal" that they would "do very well" in regards to the voting booth. In such liberal lands of California (home of Pelosi, Boxer, and Feinstein) the voters have voted in a majority for creating tough laws against illegal immigrants and defining marriage as between only one man and one woman. Are these the social issues you speak of? What a poor excuse for a debater you are Mikatollah.
Climate-Gate is the key to dump Cap and Tax. It will not go away despite the lamestream media's best efforts.
Climategate, global warming who cares! What I would be worrying about is that asteroid the Russians are going to try and deflect. If they get it wrong sounds like we'll all be toast. On that note I better go stir my endangered animal stew!!!
Use imminent domain to seize it and put the wind farm there.
Isn't Fox News making more money than all the other news outlets? Gee, that must mean that no one who votes goes to Fox News, right?
(snicker) How odd you parrot the Dem line so well.
Science, by definition, requires the free and unfettered exchange of information. It also requires that the proof for any claim to be released so others can examine it. The AGW crowd refuses to show their actual proof.
Everything they do is published for peer review. But it is very technical and isn't easy for lay people to understand. That is not an excuse for all of us who are interested in the science because there are a couple of good places to review summaries of their work. IPCC has an excellent summary published every few years.
Just because you don't understand the science does not mean it can't be understood. But it takes effort and a time commitment.
You sound like a birther demanding proof for a birth certificate that was posted on the internet two years ago. The information is out there but you will never accept it.
What are you talking about? My definition of troll? Do you think I'm hiding something? You are going to have to be more specific with your objections.
Fox makes more money than the other cables, that is true. What is your point? Do you think that means the right wing message is more popular? Fox doesn't have to compete with the networks for viewers like MSNBC and CNN. People who watch Fox don't care to watch the "liberal media". The other two cables have to compete with CBS, ABC and NBC. These guys draw over 20 million viewers each night. So yeah, Fox has a nice cable niche.
The average age of a Fox News viewer is 62 years old and the youngsters aren't exactly tuning in in droves. So they have the same demographic problem as the Republican party… what do we do when the old guys die off.
Your first statement did not sound accurate to me so I looked it up:
Cable News availability
Fox News – 102 million homes (2009)
CNN – 93 million homes (2008)
MSNBC – 78 million homes (2008)
Hahahahhaha..
Way to make up numbers – and even from DIFFERENT years??!??!

Mik check your facts, you are wrong about the Fox viewership it is largrely independant. Even you, admit you have to watch Fox to get anything even close to the truth…
Not that I am giving Fox a pass here…
I told you that Mikatollah was mentally incompetent, dysfunctional and factually ignorant .

Mikatollah is the worst debater ever! HA! HA!
You should have read my post dots. It would have saved you an hour.
I referenced the data years because they were different. The point is valid… that Fox News is not less available to cable consumers than the other cable news networks.
So debunk them.
This won't help much, but if you go to home depot and get the cheapest paint drop cloths, a roll of 2 sided tape, and a box cutter, you can cover your windows and it will help a little. Here in Missouri, it is good for about 15 degrees.
I thnk the conservatives are not pusihng this issue because it is a so-called science vs politics/government debate. The scientists who doubt warming, are not being "loud and proud" and getting on front of the news media to talk about it. Until that happens, people will not respond and push politicians to stop this theft of our gradchildren's futures. By the way, the so-called green economy will be created for China and other 3rd world countries to build, not us. the company that builds solar technology is already sending work overseas because it is cheaper to build in China. It is time to cut or elimnate taxes. Dissolve the EPA and other executive agencies because the are unconstitutional(they write regulations and those are actually laws), and once and for all show the progressives the door for the absolute last time.
Media bias is a fact. Canadian media bias is a certainty as those appointed decades ago to government hold all the strings here. American main stream media is more likely to carry a car chase than investigate an ongoing trudge to locate the raw and unaltered station data from Australia or tracking down the exact number of actual "scientists" Environment Canada submitted the parliament as the "Consensus of Canadian Scientists" in relation to the number of Environment Canada's own secretarial pool, data entry clerks and janitorial staffers therein.
If you see yourself as enlightened then Roger Peilke Sr must be a regular read for yourself as his credentials are exactly those of someone at the pinnacle of actual climate science. So how is it he too is ignored by the main stream media when new papers are indeed published, peer reviewed and proven by others through honest accessibility to his raw data and models? For that matter, I'd think that the new studies and published "peer reviewed" papers on carbon soot rather than CO2 regarding glacial melt in the Himalayas with China and India being the root cause would be front page news, wouldn't you?
True scientists are not media whores. Its unfortunate but when a scientist isolated the gene responsible for MS the breaking story was a car chase on CNN. Its been in the light of day for nearly 6 months but only now do we see IPCC chairman Dr Rajendra K Pachauri is up to hit neck in carbon offset futures and "green tech" which NEEDS to be forced upon us all in order for him to make billions. Hell it was a mere footnote that while lauded as a climate scientist by the main stream media, his PhD is in economics and he's being currently investigated by his own countrymen.
As for green tech itself just look at the EU where windfarms, solar arrays and even methane sequestering from waste biomass is up and running. The costs are enormous and make nuclear look good enough for massive new projects throughout the EU, India and China. They were where your government hopes to be half a decade ago. The figures are all tallied and now nuclear programs are looking better than ever for them all.
Ocean acidification is the new (old) thing.
No, media bias is your opinion. Fox News believes they are "fair and balanced" and take great offense if accused otherwise. In my opinion they are neither. Your assessment of network news or other cable channels or even Fox is your opinion.
I have indeed seen Roger Pielke referenced by many of your fellow climate change deniers. He is a strange choice because he is not a denier of climate change science himself. He has been critical of what is included and what is left out of IPCC assessment reports. But he seems to accept the fact that anthropogenic global warming has occurred. He is not a physicist and in the end, his is just one analysis among many.
Your personal bias against the science and the peer review process comes though loud and clear.
How about Mann made global warming?
Warming pause? would that be like, cooling? If you back up your car, is that a pause in forward motion?
Poor mentally incompetent, dysfunctional and factually ignorant mikatollah. Peer Review is manipulated and distorted garbage by the "Mean Girls" click of the Religion of Nature Worshiping Reverend Scientists. Period the end. Those are the facts. Respond to these facts in the debate, mikatollah (I'll help get you started in your predictable responses as you feign victimhood over my supposed ad hominem attacks. But can you at least address my facts with counter facts, that is how debate works. Just so you know. Broad generalities, non referenced and blanket statements don't count. O'Kay.)
Fact #1 – The Chinese leaders lectured Obama about the healthcare reform bill, in November of 2009, and how it would cause the GDP curve to drastically bend up. That is bad for money.
Fact #2 – As a nation we are engaged in a very long war against terrorists. That costs a lot of money.
Fact #3 – The healthcare reform bill bends the GDP curve up.
Fact #4 – Cap and Trade will to quote President Obama, "….under my cap and trade program, energy prices would necessarily skyrocket…"
Fact #5 – You have to pay for wars, healthcare and cap and trade.
Fact #6 – That means taxes or breakout the printing presses.
Fact #7 – That means inflation/depression and less money for the US to spend on any products made in China, cheap lead filled toys, expensive and non efficient windmill generators or otherwise.
Fact #8 – The oldest rocks which have been found so far on the Earth date to about 4,000,000,000 BILLION years ago.
Fact #9 – Nature Worship is a recognized religion with many different forms.
Fact #10- Global warming is a Nature Worshiping Religious Propagated Myth.
Fact #11 – 150 years of manipulated data used to to justify Nature Worshiping Religious Reverend Scientists' claims.
Fact #12 – 150 years by itself is not a long enough time by rules of the scientific method to justify their Religious Prosthelytizing Mythical claims about an earth whose age must be as old as the oldest rocks discovered that is 4,000,000,000 years old.
Fact #13 – 150 divided by 4,000,000,000 = 0.0000000375. That is how small and insignificant of a time frame we are talking about as it relates to the Earth's Climate History.
Fact #14 – The ice caps did not exist during the Jurassic Period 200,000,000 years ago and they formed after hominins came into existence on Earth.
Fact #15 – The earth experienced global warming during the Medieval/Middle Ages when no carbon emitting machines existed.

"Poor mentally incompetent, dysfunctional and factually ignorant mikatollah"
"mikatollah (I'll help get you started in your predictable responses as you feign victimhood over my supposed ad hominem attacks"
Think I'll pass dots. But thanks…
You feign victimhood by claiming ad hominem attacks in my statements against you that you are mentally incompetent, dysfunctional and factually ignorant. These are not insults. These are descriptive pronouns that define you in a debate mikatollah. These are facts. Nothing more and nothing less. Just business, nothing personal. Wear your mental incompetence and dysfunction with pride mikatollah. This is an example of your mental incompetence/dysfunction and factual ignorance in a debate:
"Your first statement did not sound accurate to me so I looked it up:
Cable News availability
Fox News – 102 million homes (2009)
CNN – 93 million homes (2008)
MSNBC – 78 million homes (2008)"
Fact #1: You do not reference your source.
Fact #2: You do not tell how your source collected the data.
Fact #3: You do not tell what the makeup of the numbers is (how were they derived ie. total #,mean, median, mode, range, etc.)
Fact #4: Months have an average of 30 days.
Fact #5: PM – P2+ (25-54) (35-64)
The O’Reilly Factor– 3,370,000 viewers (934,000) (1,561,000)
Fact #6: 11 PM P2+ (25-54) (35-64)
The O’Reilly Factor —1,471,000 viewers (492,000) (754,000)
Fact #7: Using those numbers and rounding to the nearest million, the O'Reilly Factor Reached 5,000,000 viewers in one day. 5,000,000 multiplied by 30 days equals 150,000,000 viewers in an average month. 150,000,000 multiplied by twelve months equals 1,800,000,000 viewers in a year. That is just one show on Fox.
That is why you are dishonest or incompetent (take your pick) based upon your statements and non referenced facts in the debate. These are your statements. I do not have the magic remote control that can force you to write such incompetent and ignorant dribble. This is your work. Own it. Be proud of it. No insults, no spin, just facts.
Yes, they are pronouns for you mikatollah.
Lisa = She
Bart = He
mikatollah = mentally incompetent, dysfunctional and factually ignorant

Three Britons and a Dutchman have been charged by Belgian authorities with money laundering in an investigation into fraudulent trading in carbon emissions permits, Belgian prosecutors said on Monday.
The fraud occurs when carbon credits are bought and imported tax-free from other EU countries, then sold to domestic buyers, charging them value-added tax (VAT). The sellers then disappear without paying the tax to governments.
The three Britons were arrested at the end of 2009 in the Belgian town of Tournai as part of an investigation into transactions worth some 3 million euros ($NZ5.8 million).
A fourth suspect from the Netherlands was arrested on Sunday. Prosecutors would not disclose the names of those arrested.
I also found it interesting that a former greanpeacer is now saying "can we find some common sense solutions?" even though the science is still out on the issue itself.
Here's yet another reason to get serious about GOOOH. I find it interesting that if they can't tax us with some government fraud like this, they simply dole out trillions of our tax dollars to their friends anyway. What are the chances any of their arguments for passing the National Health Care bill are anywhere near the truth?

I just don’t get it, if I buy unused pollution allowances from developing country where did I cap my pollution out put? Since developing countries are not producing pollution, how are they helping the cartoon show???
This is another Enron in the making!!!
