I Am Kenneth Gladney
by Kenneth GladneyI am a man with no chips on his shoulders and no axes to grind. I just want to be an accepted member of society. I want to make my own way in the world. A free man in a free country. On August 6, 2009 my manhood and my civil rights were reversed back to the 1960’s. I was working as a vendor at a townhall event on Aging, hosted by Rep. Russ Carnahan, in St. Louis. I was selling my buttons and flags.
A group of people with purple t-shirts were leaving the rally. As the group walked past me, I offered one of the gentlemen a Gadsen flag and a button. The man turned and looked at my board and said, “who in the fuck is selling this shit?”
I replied “I am Sir, would you like a flag or a button?“
He shouted at me, “What kind of nigger are you?!” Then, he grabbed my board, so I quickly grabbed it back, then the man punched me in the face and charged at me . I put my hands up to block the second blow from the large man, when two other people from that group grabbed me and threw me to the ground and started punching and kicking me. I was kicked in the head and in the back, legs and buttocks. Then a white woman ran up to me while I was on the ground and began kicking me in my head as well. A few people came to my rescue for which I am forever grateful.
Since then my life has been turned upside down and I wake up some days feeling scared and fearful for my life. The media has attacked me. They have made me out to be a dishonest and untrustworthy person. The real Kenneth is a kind and trust worthy man that just wants to be respected as a good man with a positive attitude that loves all people, no matter what walks of life they come from. I go to church and I believe in God, I hope to move past all of this and go on with my life. I still do not have a job and this situation has just made my life more complicated.

The left that has a strangle-hold on our country right now is so in fear of individuals like yourself, that they have to call you racial slurs, and beat you to assuage their fears. How manly of them. Kenneth, I would urge you to contact Mr. McCulloch office to determine the status of charges against your attackers. Also ask to speak with people from the Victim Service Council. They could provide resources for the financial and psychological impact this assault has had upon you.

Kenneth, hang in there, you are a brave man. Don't wait for any prosecutor to move on this as a criminal action. You really need to seek out a lawyer to see if you can file a civil lawsuit against the local SEIU and the invidividuals who did this to you in a lawsuit for damages. Call the Missouri State Bar association and ask to be referred to local pro bono attorneys who handle these kind of cases. I'd volunteer to help you, but I'm not admitted in Missouri!
How ironic that leftists, emboldened by the election of one of their own as President of the United States, would violate the civil rights of a peace-loving black man, in an incident straight out of the Jim Crow era!! This is not a coincidence and it clearly illustrates that liberals are just as likely as KKK members to brutally attack a peace-loving BLACK MAN WHO DOESN'T SUPPORT THEIR AGENDA!!

You cannot imaging how many people were shocked and distressed at what happened to you, pray for your recover, and wish you all the good things that a good life in America can bring. Your presence at a peaceful gathering of concerned and patriot Americans, and the very items you were selling, tells us much about your character. Even here in Canada there are those who are ON YOUR SIDE. My husband and I have great confidence in the resilience of the American People to finally roll back the dreadful overlay of Big, Invasive Government in their nation, restoring maximum liberty and prudence to civil society.
While there are thugs willing to do horrible things to citizens supporting constitutional government, and crude statements from the elite government and media hacks to insult them, it will be people like you who will prevail. No other country on earth has reversed the course and done the impossible in trying times than the United States of America. You are blessed your American citizenship, and admired for being among the very people who will affect the future of your country – and the free world at large.
This has been a long time coming. Do not despair about being unemployed for awhile; you will find your way out by doing whatever you can, small and large to the best of your ability, and by sticking to your principles.

Maybe law enforcement in St. Louis is too corrupt to hold them criminally accountable, but you still have the option of the civil courts.

Thank you for taking the time to put these words out. I felt HORRIBLE when I first read the story. I think it's terrible that people will turn on there own race because they do not agree with them. And these same people love to call other's racist all day. Sad sad. Blacks calling others "uncle tom" is a bunch of b.s. as well. No one is "acting white" They are acting normal.

I am very sorry that in 21st Century American, you found yourself, unexpectedly, on the front lines of a renewal of a battle we all thought had been fought and won many year ago. This battle is not freedom from oppression due to teh color of your skin, but a much more serious battle. That to have and express your own opinion, even if it is in opposition to the Federal Government. This is a right, previously preserved by an ever vigilant Free Press. Something which no longer exists in America. The Press is simply the tool of a government grown far to large as to be unable to serve the People from whom it draws its authority.
