Opposing Obama’s Blueprint by Celebrating American Exceptionalism

We celebrate American exceptionalism—everything that makes the United States the greatest nation on earth. In celebrating this, we reject Barack Obama’s blueprint for the kind of country he seeks to make us.
On July 4, 1776, fifty-six dedicated patriots resolved to risk everything in the hope of a new beginning. Elected to represent colonists from across the thirteen British colonies on the American continent, they decided to embark upon a grand experiment, to form a self-governing democratic republic.
They were risking their lives. Had they failed, they would have been hanged as traitors, their lands confiscated by the Crown, their fortuned forfeited, and their families left disgraced and destitute.
Yet they succeeded, and the freest, safest, and prosperous nation in the world was born.
We don’t just celebrate the historical fact of America’s birth. When we celebrate Independence Day, we celebrate everything the United States stands for.
We celebrate the right to speak what we will, no matter how unpopular, without fear of government reprisal. We celebrate our right to worship according to the dictates of our conscience. We celebrate our right to bear arms in defense of ourselves and our freedom. We celebrate our right to be secure in our homes and our families, and should we become entangled with the law, our right not to be deprived of life, liberty or property without due process, which includes everything from our right to a jury trial, to our right to a lawyer, to our right to not incriminate ourselves or be tortured.
While many of us take those rights for granted, the reality is that they are rare, both in history and even around the globe today. But those rights, that liberty, is what we celebrate on the Fourth of July.
In other words, what we celebrate is American exceptionalism.
That’s the belief that America is something special. We are a shining beacon of light throughout the world and throughout the annals of history. We are the exception, not the rule.

In other words, we’re all exceptional. But since the definition of an exception is something that stands out from the norm, we cannot all be exceptional. If we’re all exceptional, then none of us are exceptional. President Obama could not be more wrong.
He’s busy fundamentally transforming our nation. He’s leading a government takeover of our marvelous free-market economy, including the best healthcare system the world has ever seen. He’s trying to grant citizenship and the right to vote to millions of foreigners who have no interest in becoming Americans, pledging their loyalty to this exceptional nation alone and renouncing all other ties. He’s trying to silence his political critics, and muzzle those few media outlets that tell the truth.
And to top it off, as we saw last week, he’s packing our nation’s courts, and our Supreme Court, with people who see society the same way he does, and will rubber-stamp his agenda as being consistent with the Constitution.
On the Fourth of July, we celebrate our Independence Day—our freedom from oppressive government and our commitment to individual freedom. In doing so, we oppose Barack Obama’s vision, and his blueprint for America.

To me, it is painfully obvious that the current POTUS does not believe in us or the principles of our nation which is based on ONE NATION UNDER GOD WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL. I no longer care what he believes in. I just want a PRESIDENT who shares OUR BELIEFS and puts effort into working for OUR SUCCESS.

The word that keeps coming to me is "PLAYER" (or "playa" for those so inclined).
He's "played" his way into every station of life he's ever attained. And now he's "playin" the whole country.

i think in future elections, perhaps a litmus test could be american exceptionalism test. if they don't know what it is, or can't properly explain it, they are toast, this applies to every office holder, not just d.c., but state and local elections. if they cannot see the big picture, they must be blind. note there isn't a right answer, because it is a feeling, and if you can't feel it, you can't properly explain it.
While the progressive liberals have had a great many years to prepare for their 'take-over' of America, they never bothered to count on the true patriotism of the American people! We have carelessly sat by and allowed them to take over our school system, our finances, our lives in general…this cannot be tolerated any longer!! I always thought that the president was supposed to be the president to all of the people. We now have a president who is president only to the far fringes of society and in the minority opinion.
Anyone who is in a position of power has to make decisions at some point that will upset some portion of the people under his authority, but when you make those decisions, as long as they are well thought out and consider all options and opinions most people can live with the outcome. But when you piss on the heads of the majority of your constituents and put the will of the minority over the majority on every single issue that comes up, what you have on your hands is a mutiny and that is what is fast approaching.
I think in the near future this current POTUS and his minions are going to find out first hand exctly what a mutiny is all about.
Keep repeating it. It really can't be said too often.
But I don't think it's a problem of understanding. Just that some people think obama is an islamist. Some think he is a fascist. And some say he's just a puppet for all of the above.
Whatever it is we call him, we can agree that he's not good for us.

We will look back on this period of time knowing that after almost 250 years of this great country we turned the tide against the complacence and apathy that has been slowly growing like a cancer over the last 100 of those years. I firmly believe that what ever happens in the near future, we will have breathed the life back into our republic. We can't and won't stop now. The engagement of the citizens of this country is at the highest level I have seen in my life time and so, we will win!

7,000 Redcoats laid down their arms in front of General Washington while Cornwallis was so humiliated he could not go forward to meet Washington for the surrender of his troops.

America has been under attack from the inside for decades now. Maybe the single good thing about Barack Obama's presidency is that it has awakened us to that fact. There are many, many citizens who believe this country is oppressive, imperialistic, racist, and decidedly un-exceptional. They are in our government, our court system, the media & entertainment industry. They teach our kids, they lead our churches, they work in corner offices and on assembly lines. Growing up I never thought I'd have to debate a fellow American about whether or not our Founders were "terrorists" or whether or not this was the greatest country on earth, but I have. I've actually heard members of my own family claim that it's okay to ignore the Constitution, because it's been ignored so much already.
This is what we're up against. It's taken years for those who wish to destroy America to get this far, and the election of Barack Obama has been their biggest achievement to date. If we want to save our country, we have to do what they have done – work from the inside and be relentless in opposing those who want to fundamentally transform America. If we don't, Independence Day won't have very much meaning left at all.
Pardon the trivia here. The artist who painted Washington praying at Valley Forge was Arnold Friberg.
He passed away three days ago at the age of 96.
He also did set and costume work for "The Ten Commandments" and his artwork of The Book of Mormon scenes is loved by LDS around the world.

Two very different Americas…
Today I will celebrate the remembrance of our nation's independence day with friends and family.
We'll eat and drink, we'll laugh, we'll read the constitution and the writings of the founders, sing the Star Spangled Banner and then enjoy fireworks and thank God for America.
Tomorrow the fat pig bureaucrats will celebrate their annual dependence on taxpayers day and take a paid holiday off at our expense.
They'll eat, they'll drink, they'll laugh about and ridicule the people they serve and then bitch about having to return to work on Tuesday.

This July 4th celebrate something special. Celebrate your ability to live in a country where you can still be (for the time being) an individual, even though the Federal, state, and local governments are quickly making you a ward of the state. If you want to do something about this, though, you’ll have a chance in November. If we do it right this time, we can throw most of those parasites out in Washington and replace them with conservatives that actually want to bring this country back to a place where individuality and self-reliance are celebrated, and where a total dependance on the state is frowned on.
The founding fathers would have smiled at that thought.

The War of 1812 is one of the forgotten wars of the United States. The war lasted for over two years, and ended in stalemate. It did howerver, once and for all confirm American Independence. The offensive actions of the United States failed to capture Canada. On the other hand, the British army was successfully stopped when it attempted to capture Baltimore and New Orleans. I'm posting this Washington quote a second time. It was written shortly after victory in the war for independence. As I read it, Washington sounds almost like he is speaking directly to us today, several centuries later.

I'll bet that if you calculated the cost of the "dependence on taxpayers day" and every other "extended holiday" for the 2,748,978 government employees it would be a massive amount.
If you took tomorrow alone and assume that every federal employee averages roughly $300 per day in wages that number alone is nearly one billion bucks in give away money paid by taxpayers.
Multiply the number of holidays that are not "actual holidays" plus "sick days", "floating holidays", annual "sabbaticals", insurance and retirement benefits and the totaled number explodes into the hundreds of billions.

During the Revolutionary War, roughly one-third of the country favored Independence. About another one-thrid wanted to remain British subjects. The remaining one-third were somewhere in the middle. And the one-third that fought the battles included lots of inexperienced farm hands, many of them fighting in winter counditions in rags, no shoes, meager food, and a single thin blanket to sleep on. In their marches, the shoeless feet of some men left a trail of blood in the snow. All this in defiance of the best-equipped, most experienced and powerful military power on the planet at the time. The patriots won, thank God, and the new country went on to do things like defeat Hitler, befriend Israel, and create most of the marvels of the modern age we take for granted. This is the same country that Obama now wants to fundamentally transform, although for obvious reasons, he won't publicly specify what it is he wants to transform it into.
George Washington was utterly convinced the cause was hopeless without divine intervention. Some of his army that witnessed him charge recklessly into a hail of gunfire without a mark to show for it were persuaded to agree. There was even a prophecy by an Indian chief years before the war that "the Great Spirit protects the man, and guides his destinies, and he will become the chief of nations, and of a people yet unborn who will hail him as the founder of a mighty empire."
Once again, liberty is at risk, the country is divided, and those standing on principles of individual liberty are the underdog. I'm persuaded that once again, we will not stand a chance without divine intervention.
I would bet obama has never lit a firecracker a sparkler or even celebrated the fourth of July.

I think most of the comments here prove American exceptionalism. We are not ready to give in to Obama and his concept of America as just another country, and one that would be better off if it were more of a nanny state and more socialistic and less Christian. We are banding together in our neighborhoods, communities, at Tea Parties, and on the internet to support one another and reassure each other that we are not alone and that we have to work together to keep America the wonderful country it has been. It is not a perfect country because no country can be perfect, but it is still exceptional in the best way possible. My wife plays flute and the flute played patriotic music at church. the pastor was worked up about America's future and it's past it seemed.

I wish the quote, and its summation in "WE ARE BAD", were more reality than hyperbole. However, the USSA is watered-down, widely perceived as weak, and actually IS weak when it comes to resolve, morality, and leading by good example. The formerly great USSA has earned her embarrassing status as a laughingstock. Few countries- especially the dictatorships- respect us, because they know we are too concerned with hand-wringing over whether we offend some dirty c0c|<suc|<ing raghead. Some will argue that the invasion of the USSA by rat vermin from mexicvnt and other 3rd-world places, it proves that the USSA is still great. In fact, it merely proves that the USSA "fedral gubmint" has no resolve to protect itself, but has enormous resolve to hand out free benefits to every dirty, murdering, conniving, lying, despicable, dog fuc|<ing illegal alien that can get in.
So, "WE ARE BAD"? No… WE'VE BEEN HAD.
I'm not entirely concerned that your opinion might ring true considering our leaders in Foggy Bottom, but I'm heartened somewhere beyond the temptation to complete cynicism by the thought that there are literally MILLIONS of AMERICANS who are NOT in Washington D.C. or Hollywood; people the rest of the world knows to be the true heartbeat of the USA. We are more than the sum of our vestigial and parasitic parts in D.C.
