The NAACP Risks the Ash-bin of History
by Ken BlackwellThe NAACP is in the headlines again. This old and respected civil rights organization is taking the unwise step of condemning the TEA Party for alleged racism. Those allegations include unsubstantiated charges that TEA Partiers rallying at the Capitol against passage of the unconstitutional health care takeover had yelled racial epithets at black congressman who were walking from their offices to the House of Representatives to cast historic votes. They yelled the “N” word, the congressmen claimed. But no one seems to be able to produce any video, any audio, or any sworn statements naming names, or even pointing to specific yellers.
When asked why they chose to walk through a crowd of anti-ObamaCare demonstrators, the liberal Members disingenuously replied: It was the first day of spring. Right. And Gov. Sanford wanted to enjoy the spring air hiking the Appalachian Trail, too.
I want to remind my friends why the NAACP is revered in the black community in this country. At a time in the early 1900s when hundreds of communities in this land of liberty were in the grip of the murderous Ku Klux Klan, when hundreds of black Americans were lynched every year for daring to exercise their right to vote, when local law enforcement, editors and jurors ignored the plight of black Americans, the NAACP was there to champion civil rights for the oppressed.
For these and many other courageous actions, the NAACP deserves the gratitude of all Americans. But this legendary organization is risking its honored legacy when it cries wolf and hurls baseless charges of racism against Americans who are exercising their civil rights to protest against radical policies coming from Washington, D.C.
The NAACP can once again become the respected organization that champions civil rights for all, if it avoids these race-baiting tactics.

They scream about the Tea Party being racists…knowing full well that RACISM is the core of their organization! There has NOT been one iota of proof that the Tea Party itself is racists…keeping out the trolls that get in, to place their signs of racism is a little hard to do…On the other hand the NAACP gets tax payer money for their organization, whereas the Tea Party has NEVER asked the government for a dime!
unfortunately I believe the NAACP leadership has been hi jacked like the dems (and reps) have been hi jacked by lazy politicians who don't give a rats ass about anything but their own butts. Mr. Blackwell has written a great article and I am ashamed to say I was an American who fell into the easy rut but proud to say I am an American who has been awoken and takes my country, its history and now politicians seriously.
it's too late, the NAACP has taken the low road, which is also the easy way out. This generation of leadership of the NAACP dishonors those who did the hard work and fought for equal rights and respect by being lazy, and dishonest and racist.
The NAACP are following the Democrat Party……down the slag heap. They have decided that their own power trumps the liberty of whom they represent and will use misinformation, stereotyping and sheer bombast to get there. Remember, this is the group that tried to shakedown Hallmark Cards for a card that had a solor system theme with the words "black holes" that the NAACP said demeaned black women!

Everything is a threat to undo all their advances, and they will lose power/income, unless we do what they say.
A political union. Strong arm tactics, and threats of boycotts/protests/violence(by implication) unless you do what they say and help the black man, as they demand.
But yet nothing is being done by the NAACP to help the advancement of the colored people who are poor and are unable to contribute to the NAACP.
Just ask some of the poor black people in your community what they think about the NAACP.

As far as I am concerned, the NAACP is ALREADY in the dust bin of history. They lost all credibility with this latest stunt, which for me was the straw that broke the camels back. Frankly, they have outlived their mandate as constituted. They are an organization that is simply no longer needed. The fact that they have to trump up racial allegations in order to remain relevant proves this point. As much as the radical Left would like to to be so, this is not the 1960's. Race relations are about as good as they're going to get. The actions of the NAACP, the Black Panthers and the Obama administration are pushing us in the wrong direction. They all need to sit down, shut up and be content with equal protection under the law just like everyone else.
P.S. For Eric Holder and the DOJ…that means obeying and enforcing the laws!
The NAACP accomplished it's goals. We've elected a black President. The only thing that the NAACP can be used for now is the continuation of separation of the races. Who needs that?

Perhaps this explains why African-American abolitionist Frederick Douglass a century ago reminded blacks: "The Republican Party is the ship, all else is the sea." The history of African-American voting rights in America proves Douglass was right.
I do like the term “institutional racism” that is bandied about. It is one of those terms like saving and creating jobs. There is no way to qualify or quantify a statement like that. Sure does whip up debate though. I have heard every single talking head justify the NAACP with the argument of institutional racism as the point. The NAACP is the most current example.
NAACP Senior VP, Mr. Hilary Shelton was just on TV stating that there is "problematic racist activities by some of the Tea Parties throughout the country" so a resolution was passed during their convention to that effect..
Mr. Shelton alleged that there were assaults on Emmanuel Cleaver, who was called the "N" word during the passing of the deadly Obama/Pelosi/Reid Health Care Bill.. Really? Didn't Andrew Breitbart prove that there is no evidence of that.
If this is what the NAACP is spending their time on, I feel that they have outlived their usefulness. Who is paying them for the enforcing of the separation of the races? Your people are free, Mr. Shelton. We've elected a black president. Where's the racism? What's left now? Officials that would need to get a regular job if the NAACP were disbanded.

ROFL!! I have to say that is precious. What was just as precious was O'Reilly and Marc Lamont Hill Ph.D. on The Factor last night. I personally am never more awed than when anyone of any race believes that the first thing anyone who is white contemplates when they speak about an issue is how it will oppress another race. The vote in the House was 144 to 44 with 35 members not voting. The House vote was almost entirely along party lines with no Democrats supporting the bill and only 3 Republicans voting against it.

If it really existed, they would have no trouble whatsoever proving it. Also, if it did actually exist, then they really suck at carrying out their mission statement! I think a lot of the racism people see is actually just ignorance. And not willful ignorance. I know some older people (think 70's and 80's) who sometimes make comments that could be termed racist. They aren't racist though. They just didn't grow up around many people of other skin colors, whether because of time period or location. When they come in contact with a person that is different from them they don't treat them badly. They might ask some stupid questions but they don't usually talk down to the person or view them with any disrespect. There are also some younger people that have similar ignorance because of where they grew up and who they interacted with. But none of these people I have met (who sometimes astonished me with some of their ignorance) actually had any bad attitudes towards people of other colors or backgrounds. Oh, and some of the people I have run into that had a real lack of knowledge about people of other races were black. And asian. It obviously isn't just a white thing.
What they haven't hijacked, they've infested like the vermin they are…
Hopefully, they'll eat shit and die….
Very good observation. The NAACP is like so many other organizations that came into being for a very legitimate reason, and after accomplishing their goal are unwillingly to give up the power and glory, so they continue to try and find ways to be relevant. Perhaps they could use all their cash and influence to make micro loans to members of their community to start businesses or demand a better school system.

You make some valid points there. You have perhaps shown the difference between ignorance and stupidity (willful ignorance). None of this is about real racism. It is about conjuring images of racism for the purpose of division. Yes, it does exist and you are correct that the market is not cornered by white people. We do have more roes to hoe but I believe we can put it to rest as soon as we can relieve our political process of its deck of race cards.
I made the comment yesterday that as long as there is money to be made in the race game, we will have dividers.

Race is only a portion of why they do this.There is also the political aspect. They don't want to see the TEA party grow, so they make accusations that are PROVEN to be false, because they know that their rep still means something. However, if they keep going down this road, they will quickly lose all standing with the very communities that they claim to represent.
