Joe the Plumber: Setting the Record Straight
by Joe 'The Plumber' WurzelbacherThe last few days have me once again at the center of a lot of talk. This time, it’s not what I asked candidate Obama or what he said back to me. But it is because I again said exactly what was on mind and some people have now rather gleefully seen my words as a stumble on the national stage. Maybe so–or maybe it’s another step toward honesty that only looks like a stumble to those who think every word must be scrubbed for effect and the political advantage of those “behind the curtain”.

For those who missed it, I questioned whether Sarah Palin should have supported John McCain in his Arizona Senate race. I said it because I can’t help but think that this honest-to- goodness, true blue American hero has been changed by Washington, D.C. and not for the better. I said that instead of him “making me,” as a reporter asserted, he “ruined my life.” Truthfully I wish I hadn’t said that last part or at least had the chance to fully explain it because it’s not at all the “rest of the story.”
So let me set the record straight: I broke Ronald Reagan’s “11th commandment” not to criticize fellow conservatives in public and the liberal mainstream media has had a field day with it. I regret that. I wish I had said it to his face and privately. I do honestly believe that John McCain’s service to our country as a courageous naval aviator and POW rightfully earned him nothing but respect. He has represented the epitome of honor, duty and unimaginable sacrifice. And for the record, he didn’t ruin my life. He and Barrack Obama sent me down a far different path than the one I was happily on–a new path that made me famous, notorious, sought after and vilified. I have learned that all those good and bad things happen when you are thrust into the public eye. Like almost anyone else, I have loved the good and hated the bad.
Also for the record, I like Sarah Palin because although she has served as an elected official as Governor of Alaska, she still acts and speaks like any real person you meet who is worried about the country, the kids and our future. It has always seemed to me that she has a lot of good things to add to our national discussion and that her value does not have to come down to–as the liberal media has tried–whether she should be our next President. Is that the new test of a person’s worth and whether they can add important views on patriotism, faith and family and the role of the citizen? She might make a very good President but that is not the test of her worth. That false test, the subject of various recent polls, is designed by the elitists who have almost ruined our country to chase people off what they believe is their territory.
I do think Washington, D.C. changes most people for the worse. There is a sense of entitlement, a callousness when it comes to the opinions of average Americans and an opportunistic ethic that treats us like the means to every candidate’s personal ambitions. We have been lied to, ignored, taxed within an inch of our lives and generally treated with contempt instead of respect. It makes me angry and I don’t think I’m alone in this.
For the last year I have been working with the “good part” of the fame that my chance meeting with Barrack Obama afforded me. I have been speaking at Tea Parties, encouraging people to get involved and helping conservative candidates win deserved attention for their policies and promises. I’m using my fleeting moment of fame to do something good for the country I love. Anyone who knows me knows that I speak from the heart–not from a TelePrompter or script. Even with candidates I’m helping I tell crowds to pay close attention to what is being promised and to hold the person to their promises after they are elected–and throw them out if they betray the voters. I also don’t believe that the GOP has a right to assume that Tea Parties’ honest and spontaneous grassroots outpouring of dissatisfaction automatically wins the GOP votes because I believe they have been a big part of the problem. A good ad, an easy promise to be a true conservative (from now on) and the power of incumbency while continuing down the path of spending, privilege and power is little more than “business as usual” in my book.
I have met many wonderful people over the last year who have more than offset the venom and exploitation I have also experienced. Truck drivers, mechanics, waitresses, realtors and stay- at-home moms to name just a few have made me realize again how wonderfully strong and true our hometowns really are. A lot of these good people have stuck their necks out, too, to bring their voices to bear on what looks more and more like a corrupted political aristocracy. Like me, they are not pro’s when it comes to the snappy sound bite and they don’t have a team of pollsters crafting their every statement. They don’t always say the “right thing” either but you can’t doubt their sincerity, honesty or love of our country.
I decided to use my moment in the spotlight to ask hard questions and say things that are true because I don’t hear those questions or statements from the media or most in the political world. Now I’ve said some things that have again rocked the boat. I am being true to my heart and my head–I both admire John McCain’s heroism and I believe that he and many others have been diminished by a corrosive atmosphere of fawning adoration, easy perks and a seemingly endless supply of our money to spend getting re-elected. I don’t regret believing those things, just that they became ammunition for all those who loath another real voice on the national stage saying things that handlers have not carefully scripted to advance someone’s hidden agenda.
Finally, to fully answer the reporter who said that John McCain “made me”–I was made by my country, my faith and my family. I am an American and we have a long tradition of mistrusting politicians of all stripes.

Well written Joe!
I'll guarentee I
You go get em Joe!
We need more honest people, even (especially?) if they say things that are not always PC. It's a nation of citizens who never get the spolight and who are routinely ignored and privately demeaned by those with power. You keep telling it like is because more unvarnished opinions like yours opens up the full spectrum of needed ideas. I might not always agree with you but I'm glad you're here because you are a lot like me and the people I know.
Very well said. Thank you.
"I was made by my country, my faith and my family. I am an American and we have a long tradition of mistrusting politicians of all stripes."
Amen Joe
And thanks for setting the record straight.
Good article Joe. I'm not a McCain fan in the least but I wasn't surprised to see Palin support him considering he's the one who catapulted her into the national spotlight. McCain's views are to the left of Sarah Palin's and the Conservatives but it shows you what kind of character she has to remain loyal to the man that gave her an opportunity to introduce herself to the nation.
I would never vote for McCain but I respect Palin's honorable support of McCain. Ultimately it was the right thing to do.
Sarah is doing the right thing by backing the one that brung her.
Joe is doing the right thing by NOT backing McCain.
Joe is doing the right thing by highlighting that Sarah shouldn't be backing McCain.
Sarah and Joe should back true conservatives in the primaries.
Sarah and Joe should back the "most" conservative in the general.
Note: no mention of political parties.
Joe – YOU are much more of a Hero than John McCain will ever be. Good luck with your personal struggle to NOT be co-opted by the same drug of Fame that Destroyed John McCain's potential
I've got money set aside just incase Joe desides to run for either congress or senator. Either one is fine with me.
Joe, thank you.
"Finally, to fully answer the reporter who said that John McCain “made me”–I was made by my country, my faith and my family. I am an American and we have a long tradition of mistrusting politicians of all stripes."
That about sums it up. You are in a unique position, a private citizen who has a public forum. Consequently you understand Reagans 11th. Commandment and should adhere to it. I have the luxury of still being a totally private citizen (with the exception of Janet Napitaliano monitoring this site) and do not have to be as kind to McCain as you do, although that is a topic for another venue.
You just keep hammering at them, speaking from the heart and telling the truth. It doesn't make any difference if decent, honest, honorable folks stumble and get tounge tied at times; real Americans know the difference. We know that the MSM is filled with orgasmic glee, everytime they have a "gotcha moment". Tell them to kiss your ass.

Joe –
You stand today solid in the thoughts and affections of millions of Americans.
No soundbite glitch will change that. This article sets the record straight, and I know Senator McCain admires you.
You have been thrust by destiny onto the public stage – follow your heart.
IT'S ALL GOOD.
Remember, you are the Tea Party's favorite uncle ! Stay Strong, Brave and Beautiful for America !
Why would anyone want to be a "politician". If you have any talent any at all you do somehting else (in the private sector). Only those with no talent at all become career politicans. That/s why WDC is filled with lawyers.
Everyone who speaks from their heart will at times stumble! Only those who read from a teleprompter will always get it politically correct every time. WAIT!!! "CorPsman"…well, not even with a teleprompter will they get it right.
Speak from your heart and stumble…better than stumbling over a "corPsman"!
Tell it like it is Joe! Don’t let establishment Washington get to you buddy, it’s great fun to watch them squirm, at the slightest tweaking.
By the way, the reporter has it backwards…we make them!
Meh….don't worry about it Joe.
You're more of a straight talker than McCain will ever be.
Thank you Joe! Please continue to use your time in the spot light to say the things that Americans want to say if given the chance. My husband and I can't understand why Palin is supporting McCain. We are so untrusting of politicians now. It appears to us that she has become part of the machine. Wish we could be as optimistic about her as you seem to be. McCain needs to retire. He was part of "the fix" that led to Obama's election.
You know Obama supporters can't hate Sarah Palin, because in more ways than one she is just like Obama, check this story out
http://bit.ly/bHesDn
If Sarah did not give a nod to john McCain I would not trust her.
McCain is honorable but seriously stupid on Amnesty, cap and trade, and some other issues and needs to retire. McCain can't change, and I don't want to have to listen to his loudmouth daughter for another term.
J.D. Hayworth is the man of the moment and gets it. Thanks Joe the plumber!
Bullshit Joe. Call em as you see em and quit worrying about the 11th commandment. Your allegeince is to your country and fellow man, not to a political party. Don't sucumb to the pressure of partisan politics by sacrificing your principals because the leftist media will have a 'field day' with your words. You say D.C changes politicians. Well, the media changes reporters. Don't let that happen to you either. There was no need for you to set the record straight. It was all good to begin with and there shouldn't be any apology or consideration for some stupid 11th commandment.
"…in public"
Your failure to complete the quote was certainly nothing more than a lazy oversight, and not an attempt to distort the original meaning for the sake of rhetorical advantage, right?
What ignorance?
How is it decent not to criticize someone whose only claim is the same ideology?
Well, duh, "in public". Of course, even Taliban can say what they want in private.
My apologies for the off topic comment but there's not an appropriate thread for it [yet]………….
In the spirit of setting the record straight the anthropogenic global warming scam is collapsing at break neck speeds, which will allow us to set the record straight on this farce of AGW.
Which leads me to the new liberal catastrophe unfolding: the imminent collapse of the Euro. This was an absurd idea to begin with largely driven by Europe's desire to rival the US economy. Unfortunately for the economic illiterate socialists of western Europe they didn't take into account that the various nations of Europe have their own productivity, their own specific needs, etc. You cannot have a "one size fits all" economy and Europe is learning this. The Pound and the Dollar are rising, the Euro has lost 10% of its value in 60 days. The Euro is on it's way to becoming the Peso.
Western Europe, liberalism has squandered your wealth, stagnated your nations and given you a quality of life inferior to your free market capitalist American counterparts. You know what you need to do: Rope. Tree. Leftwing politician.
Joe,
Talking to a liberal is like trying to sweat a wet pipe and about as useful. Keep up the good work, you and Gov. Palin are weapons of freedom and liberty.
Joe
Had I been in Joe's position I would have said this: "If I keep my money here I might hire the guy down the street to work for me. If you take the money and send it to the guy down the street he will get far less of it with more strings attached. It benefits nobody except a bean-counter in DC and the postman."
Joe I would rather listen to one of you than ten thousand of them.
You named TWO similarities in their cirumstances. What you pointed out doesn't make Palin "just like" Obama in any way
Really, that was a pretty pathetic essay. I would rate it at about 9th grade at best.
Figured there was more to the story. If it weren't for Breitbart, the other side never gets heard.
You're free to criticize John McCain all you want. He's certainly no conservative by ANY definition! While I honor his service during the war, nothing he's done politically since 1973 has impressed me in the least.
I'm glad you wrote Joe. I had to defend you last night to my mother (and it got a little ugly). I didn't know exactly what the story would be, but I knew there was more to it. Thanks for correcting the record.
New politicians should bring out the new media and we will finally be able to bury the lamestream media.
It's basically a leadership principle, bonehead. One of the first things you learn in the NCO ranks is to never berate or belittle anyone, especially subordinates in public, ie. in front of his peers, the squad, the platoon etc. You call him/her aside and talk it out or schedule a counseling session. Myself, I prefer knocking back a few beers. I have solved more unit business, with a commander over beers, than anything else.
Regardless, that is what is being alluded to here. It's one of the myriad signature failings of pres-uh-dent Training Wheels. Well, thus far. Gee, we have two point eight four more more years of failings.
I can't wait…………..
There must be a hole in that box of rocks between your shoulders…..
one fell out.
I can only cringe thinking about where we would be without the internet and forums such as this.
Damn straight!
Boy is that true… The use of bread in the pipe helps suck up excess moisture.
Joe you are a straight shooter. Keep the powder dry.
And for the rest of the story
Thanks Andrew
I'll add to that. Not only in the military, as a manager in the workplace, it is unwise and unhelpful to chastise an employee or point out their faults in front of the other employees. Take them into a 1-on-1, out of earshot. Discuss the situation. Offer advice on how they can avoid the same mistake or situation in the future. If they need to be written up, so be it. But NEVER make it a public spectacle.
So, Twinespc, are you going to say that businesses are like the Taliban too?
There really wasn't a need for an apology, you said what you felt. The 11th commandment has been broken numerous times throughout previous elections. But since you did offer a sincere apology, than what was said is done and over with. On your day of infamy, I can remember a great toast in your honor at the local pub! Not to be forgotten.
Keep up the good work.
Your funny. The things you say are so damn stupid you are truly very funny. Keep it up LOL.
As for his loudmouth daughter, we have to remind ourselves that the turd never falls far from the A-hole.
more like a reluctant check-valve !!
This is true and ultimately keeps the proglibs from spewing the ultimate vile of supporting Mc Cain for president but not thinking he is worth being senator. She probably diffused an immense situation by doing a minor payback
While Ronald Reagan was clearly the best President in my lifetime, he was not a God, and therefore does not get to issue "Commandments!" In addition, it is in assuming that a (R) behind one's name denotes "conservative" that we have gotten into this mess where we spiral futher down the rabbit hole, no matter who is in charge. John McCain is only a "conservative" when compared to the likes of Barack Obama. That whole reach-across-the-aisle, bi-partisan, compromise on principles schtick of his has continually given us trouble. When politicians find agreement in how to "help" us, the people get screwed! "Gridlock" is our best hope, and has been for most of the last century!
Unless we have a president that we can trust to put the people first with a sincere desire to cut all the stupidity of tax and spend, your money is our money, we are the elites that you elected attitude, nothing will improve!
If I ever get interviewed by Chris Mathews I will bring some dope, brillo, torch, and some bread – if that does not shut his pie hole – I'll call for a snake to determine the problem!
If anyone thinks Sarah's views on drilling or anything else will be changed because she endorsed McCain or goes to Washington, YOU JUST DONT KNOW SARAH. She has a piece of mind that comes from deep faith, family, and character. She will not intimidated by ANYONE to change her core conservative beliefs. BELIEVE THAT!
Hey Joe, You voted for Huckabee in the 2008 primary. Have you noticed his record as governor? Big government. Nanny state ie: "fat police in schools" BMI test sent home to parents. He communited more sentances than any other governor in the United States. He started a lot of progressive programs, and changed the conservativism of his state. (enter Blanch Lincoln) Too bad you can't show the same loyalty that governor Palin has toward John McCain. He has been one of the most powerfull forces against Obama's agenda. I agree he is no "Reagan conservative" Having a son serving in Iraq I do feel more secure with him on the senate armed sevices chair. Lord knows Obama needs adult supervision on national security. Finnally, the Gipper loved John McCain. "don't let your 80% freind be your 20% enemy" RWR.
I am glad to see your a born again conservative. All the best to ya!
I note you did not answer my question.
Both neophyte politicians dreamed dreams colored by their grandiose delusions; dreams which caused them to aspire toward unattainable goals.
Excuse me – Obama made Senator by dint of the Chicago Machine. Palin was elected Governor by starting at the community level and working her way up, bucking the system the whole way.
I didn't even bother to read the rest of this juvenile rant. If your first point is so far off the mark, the rest can only be tripe, too.
It was.
Indeed……
and the fruit loops wondered why we were concerned about his lack of experience. Then again, as a marxist community agitator, you do just the opposite.
We are all the same in the eyes of God there 'twinespc'
But He is God and you nor I are not….hence
there are Reagan conservatives and there is the Taliban…. and I say you have a right to be critical of the Reagan conservatives and even be amiable toward the Taliban,…. but please…..
don't tell me you view them equally.
Good essay.
I agree with your thoughts on McCain in particular, and Washington politicians in general. However, I do not think anyone should be too hard on Sarah for the position she has taken.
She is between a rock and a hard place on this. Can you imagine the abuse if she spurned the man she worked very hard to elect as President? I do not know how much she agrees with McCain, but he was the standard bearer of the party when he asked her to be his running mate. Flawed though he may be, he was the better choice at the time. She cannot repudiate him 15 months later.
By the way, I don't know that JD is such a great alternative.
Way to go, Joe! Don't let them shut you up or distort your words!!
Imagine the MSM if Sarah had NOT supported McCain!!!
CL, I could not have said it better myself.
Joe, you are handling your new-found notoriety well. Do not cave to those who would twist your words and/or use you to their own ends for America stands with you.
Who knew we needed a Plumber to clear the pipes of freedom and liberty??
Well done, Joe. You express yourself just fine (and probably better) without a public relations specialist.
Reagan never issued the 11th Commandment. It was actually the head of the California GOP. Reagan merely repeated it in a speech at a party convention before an election it was not even running in.
"I want to tell you, if I could just say one thing — I know I have to be very careful, because you have primaries to go and so forth, and so I've got to stay neutral until the candidates are selected — except for one: the first Republican woman candidate here in the history of our party. But I know you'll have a spirited convention, and you'll have a spirited primary. But remember one thing — it came from the West, I know, but I'm still singing it — the greatest thing that's happened for the Republican Party is, when the chips are down and the decisions are made as to who the candidates will be, then the 11th commandment prevails and everybody goes to work, and that is: Thou shalt not speak ill of another Republican."
Remarks in New York City at a Reception for Delegates to the State Republican Convention
June 17, 1982
Well said, Joe! Keep up the great work!
I heard Joe speak in Raleigh, NC and saw him talk to people in the crowd. I could tell he was a true citizen/patriot. Sarah Palin’s endorsement of Senator McCain was in a no win situation. She would have gotten hell if she hadn't been loyal to Senator McCain – "You wanted him to be our President but not a Senator?!" And she knew she would get grief from Conservatives for endorsing a Progressive Republican. She chose loyalty and personal integrity. It is just fortunate for Republicans and Conservatives that Senator McCain didn't win, only to be blamed for the damage to the Nation for his Progressive policies. Hopefully, there is still time to undo what Obama has done.
Well said, Joe.
And I'm probably the only poster here that sorta likes McCain a little.
Hi 5, Fish
Right on Joe keep telling it like it is!
Sorry Paul, but I can't agree that it's fortunate McLame didn't win. The money that has been strip-
ped out of the US economy to enrich the dems slush funds would not have happened with a R win
in 08. These monies they will use against us for 20 yrs. Agreed we needed an awakening, but at
what cost? As Pres McLame would have at least had veto power. It would have been an unimagin-
able trainwreck, but we could have had some hope to wake up to every morning. Now gridlock is our
only ally.
You are an idiot. I wish you could understand being a Naval Aviator, landing on aircraft carriers day and night, spending five and a half years getting tortured in a POW camp. Dismissing McCain's service and throwing around the word "hero" like you have any idea what it means is disgusting. You sound like Pelosi and other military hating-liberals. Try serving your country.
For me, the jury is still out on supporting Sarah Paling. I am still doing my homework. If anyone chooses to attack me for that, so be it. I am a bit disturbed by her stance on school vouchers. As a true conservative, I think parents should have a choice in their children's education. Sarah stated she was against school vouchers, which made the National Teachers Association (the nation's largest teachers union) very happy.
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2008/sep/08/n...
Sorry, that should have been Sarah Palin.
Hey Joe,
That kind of talk is going to result in one thing only…people like us demanding that you run for office. You represent the values and patriotism that made this country great. You speak clearly and everyone knows what you mean. Thank you for lending a voice that reaches so many!
I think so, Bill. That is your right as an American. We just agree that we disagree.
John McCain is the quintessential prissy-ass fighter pilot, always looking for the spotlight. When the MSM
shined it on him he performed like an accordion grinders monkey. Didn't matter whose toes he stepped
on at the time. He was going for the adrenalin boost available to him at that particular moment. You could
see it in his eyes & body language. He would start to wiggle like a dog wagging his tail in the morning
when you first greet him. Now he's just a sad ol' man trying, to fool his constituents. Sorry I got off topic so
far, but I've been waiting to vent that idea for a long time.
Plumber Joe, keep up your current line, we need you more than the folks with stopped-up sewer lines do,
either way you are up to your elbows is sh1t. Love hearing from you, don't take any of this BS too seriously.
You've got a target on your back now, & as a fan I do not want you to be perfect, none of us are. I remind
you every time what drew me to believe in you was your statement that you thought your fame would be
fleeting. Well, it's persisted a little longer than you thought, hasn't it? Because you are Joe everyman,
& on the spur of the moment you came up with a remarkable question for the candidate strolling through
your neighborhood. A question that could have taken a candidate "out" any other year. This guy just had
too much mojo from the MSM helping him.
Joe, you're doing great, and as you can see, we
all support you….I can't see the big to-do about
nothing….Keep on, keeping on…….carol
Oh.That.Is.Just.Silly.
Just sent JD Hayworth a donation….I would love
to see him win!!
Because Reagan's "11th commandment" was not an edict that carried punishment by death or imprisonment, but rather an admonishment that conservatives would do well to resolve their differences internally and not assist the liberals and progressives by attacking one another PUBLICLY.
Oh. My. God. You really couldn't figure that out on your own?
After reading what you wrote about getting out there, even though I was doing it anyway, it just strenghtens my resolve to help the candidate I believe will do the right thing for us in my neck of the woods.
Wow I can't believe I wrote a sentence that long!!!!!
Thanks Joe!!!!! I am inspired!!!!
I for one was questioning why she would support McCain, but I believe your right in your explaination. A payback is the right thing to do.
Keep doing what you are doing for the people!
Just curious but those of McCain's era would see your id as North Vietnamese Army Patriot
[...] to be in a quandry because Sarah Palin is making some campaign appearances for Senator John McCain. Joe the Plumber is merely the most [...]
Spoken like a true patriot that loves this country. Your words speak for millions of americans and I'm just one very small voice in the crowd. Thanks for your insite and honesty. You are right about John McCain in all aspects. He is a hero but he has lost his way with the american people.
Some say Glenn Beck or others started the Tea Party movement. Well, they may have done many valuable and indispensable mechanical and educational things to help it along. However, I think Joe "The Plumber" is the person who really started the Tea Party movement.
He ignited the spark that started the flame — made people start to realize — albeit a little late for the election — how wrongheaded, destructive, counter-productive and essentially un-American the "spread-the-wealth by government fiat" mentality is.
Well said, Joe.
Even this "stumble" of yours (criticizing McCain) is nothing but a silver lining. If you had been more PC your comments would have passed unnoticed and you would not have written this article. I for one, am glad you did. A perfectly polished speech is great, but speaking from the heart carries much more weight. What you said was a great reminder to the GOP that they aren't automatically getting the Tea Party votes.
You didn't need to write this, but thanks for doing it. Keep speaking your mind. Maybe it's time to ask the President "how sharing the wealth is going". Hang in there Joe, we have your back.
The Washington establishment (both parties plus the media) is like a black hole. You come close to it and you get sucked into it. Sarah Palin, I fear, has gotten too close to it. I hope she can pull away before it is too late.
http://smallthoughtsfromasmallmind.wordpress.com/
Maybe if you rub those two brain cells you've got in your noggin you could start a teeny-tiny little fire.
Gary you are so right, Joe was the spark. Any other election cycle, with any other candidate Joes'
question to this candidate could have ended his campaign, however Mr.Teflon was untouchable in 08.
I believe you are right that Beck recognized the potential of a grass roots movement & had the organiz-
ational skills & platform to promote the idea. Thank You Joe & Beck.
Great post, Joe.
John McCain represents the GOP paradigm which the party needs to distance itself from pronto.
For all of his personal honor and integrity–he is one of a tiny handful of members of Congress who has NO pork-barrel spending attached to his name–he maintains in the face of all evidence to the contrary that bi-partisanship is a viable approach to governing.
Like Charlie Brown trusting Lucy with the football, this has always left the GOP staring at the sky as the ground comes rushing up.
I don't blame Sarah either for loyally showing her support; but really–I wish he'd have the good sense to do a Bayh here and now, and spare himself the humiliation.
Well said, Joe!
And thanks for setting the blog trolls and Lamestream media straight who'll take any sound byte and just run with it.
God bless you and all true patriots who are trying to save our great but imperiled Republic!
"I broke Ronald Reagan’s “11th commandment” not to criticize fellow conservatives"
—
Oh.My.God.
How is this attitude different from any totalitarian group (Taliban, NSDAP, Soviet Union etc.)?
Do you take pride in displaying your ignorance?
If it wasn't for McCain few people would know Sarah Palin. I'm sure Sarah feels she owes John MCcain for the opportunities before her. I'll wager she feels honor bound to support him, at least this once. I belive that's the kind of person she is. After her election support the debt will have been paid and them McCain is on his own.
Just stuff their hole with a little bread and git-r-done
Thanks Joe. This was a thoughtful and well-written piece. The last line especially – "I am an American and we have a long tradition of mistrusting politicians of all stripes." Maybe if we all got up, went to our windows, and shouted this at the top of our lungs (a la the famous scene from "Network")….but I digress. Hope to hear more from you.
Joe, while I sympathize with your position, I hope you accept that courting media attention and all the comes with it was ultimaately your decision, not McCain’s or Obama's.
I am disappointed in Palin's decision to support McCain, and I think she could have simply told him that she did not want to make a public endorsement. Her endorsement of him almost guarantees his reelection, which I hate! Now, when he votes for legalizing those illegal aliens, how is that going to make everyone feel?
So you're saying that Sarah did the right thing in supporting McCain even though we know she does not support his positions. If she does not support his positions then she must believe his positions are detrimental to this country on at least some level.
If Sarah supported McCain whose positions on most everything run counter to hers, then she has sold out her own beliefs. Stop making excuses for her and calling it loyalty. What do we call people that sell themselves? Oh, that's right. W H O R E.
If you think that Joe wrote this then you are even more ignorant than Joe. And that's saying something.
God you people are stupid.
Shoo little troll.
You rock, Joe- Don't let the bastards wear you down. Your voice is needed and invaluable. I wish you the best in whatever direction you take in life.
