ShoreBank: The 11th-Hour Cover-up

PollakLate last week, at the 11th hour, the Senate removed an amendment that would have required the inspector general of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation to investigate the corrupt ShoreBank bailout, as well as every other bailout since January 2009. It is the clearest sign yet that the White House and Democrats in Congress are covering up the truth. If there is nothing to hide, why block the ShoreBank investigation?
Even Rep. Barney Frank had publicly given his support to a ShoreBank probe. The bank claimed an investigation would delay the arrival of funds needed to keep it afloat. Yet Frank made sure that none of the banks being investigated would have had their federal assistance suspended (as the amendment originally provided). So there was no chance that ShoreBank’s bailout–if it were to be approved–would have been stalled.
Lynn Sweet of the Chicago Sun-Times–who is close to Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), the main political sponsor of the ShoreBank bailout–asks: “What exactly does Chicago’s ShoreBank have to do to survive?” But the real question she and other journalists must ask–and would ask, if this were any other bank–is: “What exactly are Democrats trying to hide?” If this Congress won’t investigate corruption, we ought to elect one that will.

Nothing short of heads on platters will do. Each and every day, the American people are subject to massive corruption and malfeasance.. If this is not tyranny I do not know what is.
I'm beginning to think that most democrats in Washington are big believers in Mayan prophecy. They must believe that the world will come to an end in 2012, so they're stealing everything they can, and covering for their partners in crime, in order to live it up before the end.
Any other idea that the world will go on beyond 2012 would mean that the country is going to catch up to their corruption and put them away for good. There's no way they're going to get away with this forever.
The democrat party is like an old sweater with lots and lots of loose threads. Start pulling on any of those threads and the whole fabric starts to disintegrate. Trouble is,,,no one is pulling,,,least of all the media 'watch dogs'. We don't need highly skilled investigators to uncover all the corruption as most of it is right on the surface. The arrogance of this administration is that they know no one will even lift a finger to stop them,,,,with luck that will change with the new administration in 2012. I would be only too happy to see that new justice department increase their budget 10 fold to get the investigations started. to pay for this we need only to abolish the Transportation and education departments,,,,both totally useless
If this Congress won’t investigate corruption, we ought to elect one that will. Along with one that can pass a budget. A Congress that reads the bills they pass would be nice. Maybe then we can elect a Congress that supports the Constitution that they swear an oath to. Instead of electing politicians that call tax payers Smart-A$$.
Perhaps there have been large unsecured loans made to the Obama's and their Merry Band of Theives which were not repaid, were forgiven and not reported?

I just got a letter in the mail today from Fannie Mae who just bought my mortgage… surprise… surprise. Soon they will have 98% of all mortgages. Clear example of Big Government trying to own and control every aspect of our lives. If Fannie and Freddie are not being investigated, why would we think or hope that ShoreBank would be?
Soon we will also be paying thousands more for our electric when the lame duck congress pushes Cap and Trade through killing more American jobs. On top of that… look for tax increases. Obama set the stage at the G20.
Time to invest in the paper shredder market. I think demand is about to skyrocket! I just hope someone is keeping copies. We can't let these cockroaches make it back under the refrigerator!
Is anyone keeping track of all the changes being made under the New Axis of Evil? So we can undo all this crap. That is my biggest concern, that we may forget something important and 10 years down the road find out we didn't reverse, change it or defund it and it ends up putting us again on the road to destruction. I can hardly keep up with all the changes.
Corruption exists because all are guilty. All of them are hiding years of criminal acts. That's why you can't find anyone with the spine to investigate because they're worried about getting caught themselves.
These rich elites live in a bubble, around thieves, and criminals. And unless you have a criminal record you aren't hired.
The only way to stop corruption, is for We The People to take charge. No one is hired until they spend at least 1 month in our world. Outside the bubble. Go in a rural area on a farm perhaps – and really sweat…..shovel manure etc.
We shouldn't be surprised when the snakes bite us. After all, we knew they were snakes when we picked them up.

Now they know they have shown their hand and ShoreBank by itself will be the focus of everyone’s attention (at least it should be). Obviously, we will have to prioritize. Overturning health care which represents such a large portion of our economy would be a great start. We will have to be diligent in electing those who will reduce the size of government with a focus on states rights.

I understand what you're attempting to say, however, your last bit sound a lot like Mao's sending what he called "elitists" to do manual labor in rice paddies. That is NOT a "good" thing.
Most American citizens don't work on farms, shoveling manure isn't a component of farms that grow soybeans and the like crops, and one little month in the "real world", especially shoveling bovine excrement, isn't going to teach any pol a thing about management, leadership, nor responsibility……………..things which no Dem and some GOPers have any knowledge of/ideas about.
A better way to phrase your idea, would be that we shouldn't elect any poll whose CV only contains political experience/jobs and no other.
A functional media is vital to protecting citizens from arbitrary and tyrannical government decisions. As everyone knows this is not the case in our society today. Time for a change. Hide? They're not trying to hide anything. It is perfectly obvious that they are protecting both themselves and Shore Bank.

Rather, I think that the Democrats are absent conscience. It doesn't matter what "prophecy" may say or does or doesn't, it's a case of Democrats engaging in "whatever works to reach the goal" (or the end justifies the means) philosophy that describes their insatiable demands to gorge on other people's property. I think today's Democrats long ago lost any resemblance or relationship with the U.S. and became some other force or 'nation' unto themselves, that truly despises our nation, what remains of it, and among it's primary goals is the destruction of this place we once called a Republic. Democrats are well known for wealth acquisition and they haven't become that way without a great deal of amorality — wealth acquistion that is not accompanied by a righteous consideration for others but one based upon theft and lack of conscience. That, in a nutshell, describes many of today's Democrats and certainly describes the DNC.
