We Stopped the ShoreBank Bailout: Now for the Investigation
by Joel B. PollakThe House Financial Services Committee voted Wednesday to launch an investigation of the ShoreBank bailout, a scandal that was first revealed here at BigGovernment.com. Of the dozens of banks that have failed this year, only ShoreBank received help from Washington and Wall Street. The reasons: its connections to the White House, its close relationship with Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), and its importance to the radical left.
After I broke the story in January, other bloggers, notably the Central Illinois 9/12 project, connected more of the dots. Soon, the Wall Street Journal, the Chicago Tribune, and even the New York Times began following the story. Two weeks ago, my campaign joined Rev. Isaac Hayes (who is challenging Jesse Jackson, Jr. in IL-2) and the Illinois Tea Party in a spirited protest outside ShoreBank’s offices on LaSalle Street in downtown Chicago.
Representatives Judy Biggert (R-IL) and Darrell Issa (R-CA) took up the cause and demanded answers about the White House’s role. Suddenly, the Treasury and the Federal Reserve began backing away from the bailout. That triggered a public attack on Treasury secretary Tim Geithner by the Illinois Finance Authority. Finally, Rep. Biggert succeeded in inserting an investigation of ShoreBank into the financial reform bill.
The financial reform bill is still a job-killer. But if it does pass, the consolation is that Congress will investigate the ShoreBank bailout. The fact that a bipartisan committee managed to agree on the investigation shows how important the allegations are.
Meanwhile, the ShoreBank bailout is still on hold. Thanks to bloggers, the much-maligned Tea Party, and bold leadership on Capitol Hill, we have stopped a corrupt bailout, against overwhelming odds!

I hope someone is keeping score and I definitely hope someone is keeping a file that keeps getting thicker and thicker. I can think of no one more deserving of spending time behind bars than Obama and his cast of thugs, including Axlerod, Emmanuel, Holder, etc. etc.
This country ain't Chicago yet and while we that care about this country can still make a difference we need to make sure that these crooks go to jail for a long time. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, usually you can be reasonably assured it is a duck.

I'm not holding my breath waiting for any convictions. Even if there is one, it will only be a token to placate the irate masses. The real perps will slither back under the rocks to emerge another day.

Watch both hands. The regime is becoming more desperate as it fails to take advantage of the "crisis" at hand. I do not trust them to listen to Congress. They are corrupt and will stop at nothing to advance their agenda.
As a side note: It is interesting to hear through testimony during Blago's trial how various members of the current regime were involved… including the one, the emperor Obummer. More corruption.

It's a start, albeit a small one, but a step the right direction. In last two years, trillions of dollars have disappeared into a black hole. We hear that the nations millionaires have gotten well, the market is churning, and most banks don't seem to closing their doors.
Meanwhile, out in the real world, unemployment remains high, home values continue to drop, and Joe Lunchpail's 401k is still gone. This has been a massive redistribution of wealth from the middle class to the well connected upper class.
Where is the accounting? Who got this money? Shore Bank may be a place to start but it's less than a speck on the tip of the iceberg. Audit everything and everybody that has touched this money trail.
Let's have some sunshine on this subject, regardless of who it takes down.

Oh goody, the fox is going to investigate how he got into the henhouse! That should work out just fine and I'm sure we'll get to the bottom of that fiasco!

The financial 'reform' bill is about as 'reforming' as the other 'reform' bills… it's just another piece of the Big Machine… a major power grab to DIVEST us of freedoms of all sorts… not just financial…. And ANOTHER NAIL IN THE COFFIN in this great, but wounded country.
For example, one of the many new bureaucracies, this capitalism-killing piece of crap creates, can step in and 'protect' you if they don't like the payments system you set up with your dentist!(which you need cause you're broke from all their other 'help'!) The fact that it is Chris Dodd & Barney Frank, two of THE BIGGEST CROOKS in Congress should be a BIG CLUE…. And it was probably actually authored, like the other great 'reform' bills The Center For American Progress or one of Soros's other spawns.
If this thing passes, you don't REALLY BELIEVE there won't be some kind of end-run on investigating ShoreBank do you??
