The Marxist Roots of Obama’s Economic ‘Pivot’
by Joel B. PollakPresident Obama’s advisers assure us that he will use his State of the Union address tonight to deal with our nation’s ailing economy. Americans have already begun to hear talk of a “hard pivot” at the White House, away from health care and towards jobs.
Yet in economic terms, the president’s shift thus far has been more of the same: more government control and less individual freedom.

His attacks on banks—including a new tax that will invariably be passed on to consumers—caused stocks to plummet last week. He has targeted some banks for being “too big,” but without ending the costly policy of “too big to fail,” which removes the discipline of risk and reward. He crowed, “We want our money back,” but wants to use “our” money for his own spending programs, not for tax relief.
The central idea of the President’s new plan appears to be shaping up as a jobs program, in imitation of FDR’s public employment programs during the Great Depression, and funded by new taxes on Wall Street.
The plan is not about job creation—more jobs could be created by the private sector—nor is it about recouping the bailout. It is primarily about redistribution—and is based on old, bad ideas.
Look for two key words likely to appear in the President’s speech: “productive” and “unproductive.” These come from Democrat strategist Robert Creamer, who recently wrote a blog at the Huffington Post entitled: “Tax Bank Bonuses and Capital Gains of Wealthy to Pay for Jobs Program.” Creamer argued that the government should tax the “unproductive financial sector” and “incentivize productive work” instead.
Creamer is no obscure pundit. He is the likely architect of the Democrats’ political strategy on health care reform, outlining it in a book he wrote in federal prison in 2006. He has also been a guest at the Obama White House, together with his spouse, Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL). And his Huffington Post columns frequently coincide with the White House message of the week, both in substance and style.
The false distinction between so-called “unproductive” and “productive” work has a long and sordid history. It was a cornerstone of Marxist economic theory, and was also a staple of antisemitic rhetoric in Europe. Jews, barred by law from owning land and practicing certain trades, became prominent in finance—“unproductive” work, to their detractors—and were scapegoated during times of economic turmoil.
Last week, Abe Foxman of the Anti-Defamation League feuded with radio host Rush Limbaugh over whether the Obama administration’s attacks on banking had any antisemitic resonance. Regardless, the policy is wrong, motivated and by a tired and self-destructive Marxist idea: using the heavy hand of government to shift wealth from “unproductive” Wall Street to “productive” Main Street.
What this Congress and White House—and their political advisers—fail to understand is that Wall Street and Main Street depend on each other. The financial sector doesn’t simply create wealth for itself; it also creates markets for the products Main Street sells, and investment for the jobs Main Street needs. Conversely, if Main Street cannot produce earnings and create new jobs, Wall Street cannot profit or survive.
Americans understand this intuitively—which is why there has been little appetite for the war on “unproductive” work that Creamer and his associates are trying to incite. There has been relatively little antisemitism, either, despite the fears of some Jews that the appearance of Jewish names among Wall Street’s fraudsters and failures might provoke hatred. Americans are above and beyond all of that.
Not so, Creamer and other left-wing strategists—who insist that the Obama administration must not drop its radical policies, but repackage them in populist rhetoric. Americans are not likely to be fooled—not least because the political class fails to practice what it preaches. Perhaps if President Obama gave up golf, or returned his Wall Street campaign contributions, people might start to listen.

A "Hard Pivot" at the White House?
This is a cluster of epic proportions, that has quickly turned into a circle, and Barry is indeed the "pivot man".
“This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius.” ‘60s radicals are at their moment, forty years in the making…”we will not see any pivot” …in fact look for them to double down on their egalitarian Marxist agenda. I say “cool!” It’ll be much easier to defeat an enemy that is fully exposed in 11/10. So I say, “haul ass left Barry, we’re watching!”
We know where this man has derived his ideas & his policies. The key is to figure out how to stop them from moving foward with that agenda. If they are not going to listen to the majority of Americans what is the next step. He is going to try to move all the legislation pending & ram it through before the November elections. How do we stop it?
Obamie the commie doesn't know anything but socialistic approaches to economics.
Some say "pivot", I say "waffle".
Capitalism is the only thing that is going to stimulate the economy by promoting, not discouraging independent small and large scale business. Socialism simply does not work. Rob from the rich and give to the poor only works in fairy tales.
Speaking of Jews, Communists and banks, I see Timmy Geitner is getting grilled on his duplicitous roles prior to becoming Treasury Secretary. Y'all watch, he will be gone within 90 days. Barry will throw him under the bus.
He'll pivot 360 degress and end up in the same place, more rhetoric because he just doesn't get it, it's jobs stupid. His bubble he's in doesn't allow for common sense.
Pssst! Barry,
It's the economy, Stooopid.
Slipping on the banana peel.
Obama is going after another big stimuluis and a spending freeze. I wonder if some one told him those moves offset each other? (unless the spending freeze is 15 billion and the shopping spree is 787 billion.)
What the SWAMP GAS is releasing is a double down bet. Win at all costs or totally decimate the economy. Taxpayers realize that this in essence is a very poorly executed Ponzi scheme and can not be sustained. When you have a personal reduction in income, what do you do once you have determined that it is going to be many months or years before the income grows back? You reduce your expenses to the essentials. What does this President do? Well we must bower more and spend more. Obama is on a path to totally destroy us as a nation.
To my way of thinking it would be better to reduce some now than face total collapse. Just like we (responsible taxpayers)would do with our own personal home budgets. It would be better to trim and reduce across the board all budget items than totally collapse. Cut the cable bill-reduce grants, turn down the thermostat-cut the farm subsidy, trim the grocery bills-cut entitlements, trade down the car-reduce the fed wages accross the board, stop shopping at the mall-reuce or eliminate the UN.
The reckless spending needs to stop now so we can cover the needs. The wants can be re-evaluted later when we have the money in the bank and have paid off the debt. Until then we as a nation need a beans and rice diet of austerity.
Pivot like John Kerry on his sail board !!
We will not be fooled but will the indy's be fooled as they seam to pivot in the wind and never stand on firm ground.. I'd like to see them prove me wrong this time but only time and the 2010 elections well tell us if they do or not..
EDIT: BORROW MORE
Sorry!
Can we get spell check here please?
Kerthump! Geitner is toast.
Stick a fork in him, he is done.
The sharks smell blood in the water, and Timmy is chum.
Somedays, you eat the shark, someday, the shark eat you.
One of the greatest shibboleths taught in history is that FDR successfully ended the depression. That is patently false, his progressive/socialist programs actually acerbated the problems. Obama's Green jobs is reminiscent of FDR's National Industrial Recovery Act. The NIRA codes stopped the tailspin of prices for a short time, but soon, when higher wages went into effect, prices rose too. Thus, consumers stopped buying. The continuous cycle of overproduction and underconsumption put businesses back into a slump. Some businesses felt that the codes were too complicated and the NRA was too rigid. Declared unconstitutional later on. The progressive/socialist love to say that FDR created all kinds of jobs during the depression. What was wrong with those public works jobs? Many created enduring edifices–New York's Triborough Bridge, for example, the Mountain Theater of Mount Tamalpais State Park outside San Francisco, the Texas Post Office murals, which were funded by Henry Morgenthau's (and known communist dupe) Treasury. But the public jobs did their work inefficiently. That was because the jobs were scripted to serve political ends, not economic ones. problem was that the New Deal's emergency jobs were short term, lasting months, not years, so people could not settle into them. This led to further disruption. In the very best years of Roosevelt's first two terms, unemployment still stood above 9%. Nine percent is better than horrendous, but it hardly is a figure that induces hope.
The government does not create jobs, except for government jobs. Why will it not work. Easy, Milton Friedman laid it out. The more captital that is taking out of the system by taxation, means there is less capital for private industry to create or expand buisness, and therefore no job creation opportunities. Reduce taxes, cut government waste, limit unions, and cut back intrusive regulations, the economy will bounce back like gangbusters. Reagan, who was advised by Friedman, knew this simple fact and implemented it.
Excellent point!
You write well.
Double down bet?
I think they are used to shooting craps, and are betting on the come.
and don't forget that Robert (non-dairy) Creamer is a convicted felon, as well…
He stole from banks to finance his lifestyle while he did the 'people's work' for the Crook County machine, where his hideous shrew wife Jan Schakowsky extolls the virtues of Hugo Chavez and Jean Bertrand Arisitide for her House seat.
While in Club Fed he wrote the 'book' that Obama, Axelrod and Plouffe rode to victory. So there's that.
And understand that this lot is plethora of rigid ideologues determined to implement their vision on this country, regardless of the costs.
They must be stopped dead in their tracks…
You may be right, but I stay away from craps and do not know that game of chance. It always seemed to me to be a fools game with no bells, whistles or pretty lights!
Obviously, they don't know the game either, as they aren't doing to well at it.
Obama said he would use porkulus 1 to create jobs, the majority of which would be private sector. Right, sure. He claims he is now "Barrack Hussein Obama (snap, snap, snap) deficit hawk." As Krauthammer correctly pointed out, all he is doing is trying to lock in a new base line with his budget freeze. He increased the budgets for these areas twice in the past year to the tune of about $150 billion and now he wants to "freeze spending at that level." Hopefully his speech will be received with the same admiration and warmth Mass. voters showed on Coakley.
The Banks Are Going To Take This Bill Passed By Dodd And Co. Restricting Credit Cards. Out On The American People…… Again Not Asking The American People What they Would Like To Do…….. The American People Clearly Wanted The Banks To Fail….. to Prevent This Bubble From Happening Again….. Congress Did not Listen…
then Congress Does It Again With The Dodd Credit Card Restriction Bill….. THIS IS TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION………. IT'S SHOULD BE STOPED………
Narcissistic personality disorder is a condition characterized by an inflated sense of self-importance, need for admiration, extreme self-involvement, and lack of empathy for others. Individuals with this disorder are usually arrogantly self-assured and confident.
Vulnerability in self-esteem makes individuals with this disorder very sensitive to criticism or defeat. They may react with disdain, rage, or defiant counterattack. They are pathologcial liars. http://www.mentalhealth.com/dis/p20-pe07.html
This is really funny. Socialism was created by bankers for the purpose of unjustly enriching bankers. We are seeing it function exactly the way it was designed to work. Who got the "stimulous"? The same thing happened in 1988. There is nothing new under the sun.
What a better way to obscure this little tidbit of information than to publicly demonize the bankers who continue to call the shots, while all the while obediantly doing their bidding like a faithful obsequious vassal. The federal reserve is a private bank, not an instrumentality of government. It is interested in unjust corporate profits, not public service. I guess we realy are as stupid as they think we are.
Throw enough spaghetti against the wall, and something will stick! He is floundering, as he knows he overreached and he is losing not only his base, he has lost the independents that elected him…so they will try to pacify the masses with soothing rhetoric that he is going to get down to the business of restoring jobs in this country. Good words, but how? If he passes along tax cuts; payroll tax cuts; and easing of credit then businesses will start hiring and take chances to expand…but if he thinks government is going to create a job of building a bridge, or paving a highway, that an out of work architect, a machinist; a computer expert is going to start paving highways for the government, he is in la la land…but you see he doesn't want small business to succeed, he is doing this kicking and screaming! He knows the political landscape has changed drastically since Brown got elected in Mass. so he has to change his strategy, but do you really think that overnight he became a fiscal conservative? This is life and death political strategy! He has to do this…but beware because he is an ideologue and his agenda is still uppermost in his mind…he should say cut spending; not spending freeze…cutting out all the jobs in Washington that are held by freeloaders; political hacks; nepotism; that is what he should do..not freeze spending. It is like one raindrop in a barrel of water..please give me a break. I just hope the electorate will not be put to sleep with the rhetoric and stop fighting. He has to indicate to the people of this country that he gets it but mean it..healthcare should be shelved indefinitely; granting enemy compatents rights of the citizens should be reversed; and he should reverse the decision of this government to try the man who cut off Daniel Pearl's head in NYC, and try him in Gitmo..that vermin belongs in Gifmo with a military tribunal…we don't want these vermin in our NYC…the reckless spending has to stop, and immigration should be decided that no citizen will be granted amnesty and they have to come into this country legally like all the good people all over the world.
You people who think thank our illustrious president doesn't know what he is doing or doesn't understand economics are way off base. Our fearless leader knows exactly what he is doing and what's really scary is that for the most part he is succeeding. He wants to bankrupt America and make the producing working people of this country entirely dependent on the state for all their basic needs. He wants to take the earnings of these hard working individuals and redistribute it to his non-working, non-producing (except for welfare babies) black brothers and sisters from whom he believes the white man has stolen it from and thereby get even for their perceived downtrodden lives. He is using the revenge factor to incense all the so-called "victims" in this country to help him install his version of a communist government without their knowledge. A task that would be impossible if he was to be truthful about his intentions. In short he is crazy like a fox. He has a playbook and is following it just as it was written. We can only hope that he doesn't have enough time to complete the game. Right now I believe he is ahead of schedule even though most of us wish it was not true. It is amazing that over 40% of the people, if you can believe the polls, still believe this would be Chairman of the Council of People's Commissars (The head of the old Soviet Union) is doing a good job. It shows you what we are up against, which is 60 years or more of communist infiltration and brainwashing in this country. SENATOR McCARTHY WAS RIGHT!
PROGRESSIVES SHOULD BE TREATED AS HOME GROWN TERRORIST………
EXPOSE THEM ALL, FOR WHAT THEY WANT TO DESTROY IS AMERICAS FREEDOM…….

Capital is dead labor, which, vampire-like, lives only by sucking living labor, and lives the more, the more labor it sucks.

Capital is the seed that grows the businesses that employ the labor. No capital – no labor, no labor – no jobs.

Since the Scott Brown win I have not heard the phrase “Teabagger”
being used by MSM Reporters. It’s not because those same Reporters weren’t relishing using it as an epithet for Average everyday Americans. Their Corporate Masters called them off because of the Scott Brown win?
I think tonight’s State of the Union Speech will have a strong Clintonian flavor.

It seems that banks are not extending credit to small & medium sized businesses.
Yep……….
Isn't the Bernanke vote today, as well?….Every day, there is some new BS…I should be working on the new kitchen floor.
Yeah, it's rowing the boat with one oar! and go round and round….Then, when you want something New, Hope & Change, simply use the other oar….
I'd like to see that happen, but I just read a Reuters article saying that in those 250,000 pages that congress subpoenaed, there is no "smoking gun" proving Geitner knew anything about the bailout cover-up. To me that means there is a cover-up of the cover-up going on, and we may never see any real justice done. I hope I'm wrong.
Thank You Kristine, We could throw in the Kenyes Economic Model as well. Also, my opinion is that the "federal" Reserve Bank is the root of the problem….As no currency or credit is issued for the interest portion of a Loan.
The only thing they know how to do is run up the bills. I will be so happy to clean up the debt once they are gone. It will be worth it to see them all with splinters in their backsides.
They are screwing us on purpose! I'm imagine-ing the reason is to get into a new, Amero-dollar currency, which would be linked up with Mexico & Canada New designs of our money have been evolving before our very eyes, and seem to have that "eurooean" type look. So, "There's something rotten in Denmark"
The General Public usually is not aware of the fact that the FRB is not US Govt. EZ to verify, as the "fed" is not listed in the phone book, under 'US Govt", a very quick proof to those Doubting Thomas's.

Thanks to GWB and the GOP, or did the last 8 year slide down the memory hole?
Very good analysis. And watch as the media praise him for listening to the people and reaching across the aisle.
Utter hogwash.
Why would banks be extending credit or businesses hire considering the policies from this Administration?
TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION indeed. Very correct.
Where have I heard that before I wonder…
It's all a shell game! The chosen one will expounds his wisdom upon the unwashed masses (us) and his minions take the $$$ and run. Let's freeze spending after doubling the national debt. ! What's up with that!
I'm wondering if the Progressives are going to try and slip Obamacare through before Mr. Brown get's sworn in or if Nancy can get the house to pass the senate version and then only need 51 vote.
They are like the CRACK heads who can only see to their next hit!(Election or Pay-off) Harry and Nancy are the dealers and the chosen one is thier connection. Power is their CRACK, the more they get the more they want.
Term limits, two and gone from President to Dog catcher!
If you don't vote don't bitch!
Calm down Screaming Eagle.
If we put the Obama Great Leap Forward campaign in terms of the early days of the cold war, we stand a chance of being McCarthyed again. There is really no need to fight battles we have already won.
This guy's indoctrination was produced in the 60's and inbedded in his brain in all those classes he attended at Havad.
but they don't WANT capital available for private industry… they do not WANT private industry to create jobs.
they want everyone dependant upon the government for EVERYTHING… $$$… WATER (see Cass' position on seasonal puddles in your back yard)… health care… FOOD (see CA's current water issues also report from GAO indicating that under cap and trade land would be better used for growing trees than growing food).
They HATE private industry (aka capitalism) and will do all that they can to totally destroy it.
You must keep this knowledge in the forefront of your thoughts rather than trying to put forth LOGICAL methods to end this financial/political mess. There is no logic within them… only their own ideological determination to completely DESTROY capitalism and America and bring us (as Chavez said) over to the "socialist side".
He's looking like the pivot man in the daisy chain.
Exactly, if you were a bank and hearing all this hard rhetoric about making bad, risky loans, why would you make a loan to a small business, especially a start-up? Isn't that a pretty big risk?
Perhaps you should look at the Congress he had the last few years. Oh my… DEMS???
I keep trying to sign up, but never get the verification.

Engels was "brains" for Marxist economics. I tried to read his writings, and gave up on it. It's a difficult read for me. Anyhow, their stategy was to take over the banks and use funds to build their group, and limit financing to God-fearing people projects.
Obama was thinking about his basketball game…Pivot….
You are so right on point here, this is his sole mission and it needs to get out into themass media.
How do we stop it?
At the polls. God gave us a special gift in Massachusetts recently to hold us over until November. Always remember the God helps those who help themselves. Get out the vote. Turn up the heat.
As the saying goes, "If they won't see the light, make them feel the heat!"
I say "spin".
Tipsy! there is no way GWB and the last 8 years could "slip down the memory hole"
Your Dem wanna be president is making sure of that.
Marxist, Liberal, and now Progressive, a turd is still a turd, even if you dip it in choclate.
[...] Am I worthy? Am I productive? By schex From Big Government [...]
Collapse the system on itself. That is the goal. FDR tried to do it by not approving a plan Hoover created that only needed FDR’s blessing to execute30 days before FDR took office. FDR decided to do nothing and the bad situation he inherited only got worse, which he blamed on Hoover. Thankfully, it didn’t get bad enough to start behavior that would warrant martial law. BHO version of the collapse is to load the budget with so much spending that no one will finance it and being unable to pay any debts, the county goes bankrupt and China will own the country. There are two Ivy League professors of a communist bent that have described this scenario.
Lastly, having watched BHO, I don’t believe he knows how to lead. Just my opinion, but based on observation, of the following:
He can’t seemly speak without a teleprompter.
He takes no control of the debate on any bill in congress.
Even when the pundits say he needs to take the lead on the issues, he rarely does, and when he does, he has no effect.
Maybe this is due to so many years as a community organizer. Bill Ayers, or whoever he hooked BHO up with had to teach him how to do that much.
Finally, a leader knows almost instinctively how to connect with people and draw them in. Like him or not, this was Bill Clintons’ best asset, and BHO just hasn’t got it.
You are absolutely correct. The actions of the Democrats are malicious with the intent to destroy our nation. We let them off the hook when we call them "stupid." They want us to think they are merely stupid when in fact they are purposely doing everything in their power to bring this country to its knees. These people are the enemies of America and of everything America stands for. We had better wake up and realize that.
Creamer stole $2 million, but that's okay to him. You see, it's for the greateer good. We just haven't seen it yet. /s
You talk about the "The false distinction between so-called “unproductive” and “productive” work "…
There actually is a real distinction but it has nothing to do with finance: 'Unproductive' work is the work of the vast majority of government bureaucrats who are ‘producing’ things not valued by consumers but dictated by ideologues. "Productive" work is everything else –the entire private sector.
Describes Obie to a T.
Joel B. Pollak – congratulations on choosing to run for congress against the wicked Jan Schakowsky of Illinois. I hope that we at BigGov can give you a boost.
Isn't this impeachable? Problem: Can you ever imagine what would happen if he were to be impeached for openly breaking our Constitution? We would be economically destroyed anyway, if that were to happen! I'm afraid that the stew is boiling over the pot and it's no longer even winnable!
Republicans should laugh like a sitcom laugh-track, rather than should "You lie!", during the State of Delusion address tonight. Get Obama off script and angry by showing that nobody is taking his rhetoric seriously now. Don't be the "party of no". Be the party of "Are you kidding?" Laugh at the insanity of his proposals.
Then, pull a classic Reagan move, as with Gorbachev. Smile and say, "Let me tell you why we don't trust you."
Please leave Chicago out of this, we have enough problems without having to deal with "communist plots".
My God that sounds so 50ish.
Let's keep this campaign in the 21st century.
Your heart is in the right place but your rhetoric, believe me, we really do not want to go there again.
It's the live cats that I want to swing around and throw them at somebody and oh yes we did win
Where is the wall Reagan demanded be torn down?
As is always the case, your blindness is obvious to everyone but you. Even in the face of all that's happening in this country right now, you still deny that this country is overrun with Commies (Progressive Movement radicals). You deny that over the last 50 years they have infiltrated our universities, our political parties and our media. You deny that they told us they would do this (Crushev), and that they have made good on the threat while we sat on our fat asses and let them.
By denying this, you are no better than they are. Stop being a fool and wake up!
Progressives have figured out how to get around the checks and balances of our Republic. People like Creamer, convicted felon, are writing the future of our nation. Progressives embrace felons and self-avowed communist in the White House, that should be a clue.
They have been at this silent coup for much longer that we would like to acknowledge. I don't know when it actually started, but it was before the 1900s. After Paris 1919 they got a new vision for what we, as a country, could be and have been at it faithfully since then.
“Reason is not automatic. Those who deny it cannot be conquered by it. Do not count on them. Leave them alone.” -Ayn Rand
WOW I am so impressed with all of you and your ability to suddenly become conspiracy theorists or suddenly "angry" at the "biiiiig baaad government". One thing I've noticed since you all lost all your power is how quickly you all began with the whole "sky is falling" claims of the entire country is now socialist and communist and we have no individual rights and the government has taken over EVERYTHING! But the problem with these claims is there is not a single bit of evidence to back up any claims. Fact is there hasn't been any "change" (no pun intended) since he took office. The writer of this piece states Obama saying “We want our money back,” really means he "wants to use “our” money for his own spending programs, not for tax relief." Well where the hell is that coming from??
Something all of you new breed of right wing conspiracy theorists seem to be in total denial of is the level of greed prevalent on Wall Street and how that greed essentially created a disastrous economic situation. I know, I know..you all believe the fault is totally on people not Wall Street or banks. And you do have a point, there is a percentage of the burden here on the shoulders of people who took out loans they knew they couldn't afford. But in the same sense, the banks APPROVED these loans knowing they people couldn't afford them figuring they'd still get a return on their investment one way or another. But they were wrong. Then they went crying to the government, then under President Bush, for OUR TAX MONEY to bail their greedy asses out. and they got it!! Where was the outrage then??
Only now in light of seeing how these companies continue to do their greedy business as usual practices and Obama says he wants to put a stop to it…THIS IS WHAT ANGERS YOU?
I have absolutely no hope for this country anymore if this mindset is what is prevalent. The mindset that always favors the rich and powerful over the disenfranchised, ironically it's the disenfranchised who often support corporate rule through blind allegiance to one political party's ideology or another. We really need to hear more common sense approaches to how to fix this mess we're in or else you can kiss America's standing as a superpower goodbye.
Problem with you all is it's insincere and only rooted in your hatred of Democrats. I am not a follower not believer in either of the major two parties. The way I see it they both are incompetent and beholden to corporate special interests. But the funny thing about you all is how you somehow equate "rights of the coporation" to be the same as a persons rights.
The problem is he does get it. He's not stupid…he's ideologically sold out, corrupt, a liar and thoroughly inept wehn it comes to anything more than holding a clipboard on the street. He's not trying to go in the direction America was meant to go …he is at the end of a long line of progressive enemies of the U. S. Constitution hell bent on destroying the foundations and the fabric of our rich heritage and the document that Barry swore to uphold and defend. He is a blatant a liar… he does not uphold and defend the Constitution but in fact he's simply deluding the ignorant masses who are uneducated through the public uneducation system, are being paid off through entitlements and/or are too socially immature to hold a job or discern the stream of B.S. that constantly flows from the White House. What is worse? Bill Cllinton being impeached because he lied about his sexual liaisons with Monica Lewinsky, or Barry Obama's flagrant lies about everything but affairs with interns?
A "hard pivot" from far left to, what's after far left? Oh, "totalitarian despot." We're almost there.
“How do you tell a communist? Well, it’s someone who reads Marx and Lenin. And how do you tell an anti-communist? It’s someone who understands Marx and Lenin.” (Ronald Reagan, Arlington, VA speech, 25 September 1987)

A good read supporting this post is Amity Schayes' "The Forgotten Man"… FDR's influences were rabid Stalinists who tried to implement Socialist/Communists practices seen in the Soviet Union & failed, and subsequently found it worked better to implement them surreptitiously under different names.
I nominate my husband to replace him then. Unlike Timmy, he can understand TurbTax.
You're right, I would be a fool to believe your load…And I'm not into buying bridges…Sorry…!
Did you have a point? Or were you just blessing us with your presence, and proving you're phonically challenged?
What I found especially interesting about that book, (besides the fact that it clearly shoots down the generally accepted perception that FDR was a great President), is that Ms. Schayes (spelling??) is a member of the elitist CFR herself. I don't think these folks usually tolerate dissention in their ranks. This book is a must read for anyone looking for the truth about FDR and The Great Depression. A real scary part of history seems to be repeating itself right now before our eyes.
that's the whole point…we never won anything…they did. You need to open your eyes and take a good look around. You can't swing a dead cat in this country without hitting a Communist! McCarthy WAS right…we didn't listen (worse yet, we killed the messenger)…and this is the result. The fact that you don't see the connection makes me want to puke.
I think you've lived in Chitown too long. It's rotting your brain.
Obie is lazy and arrogant and always looks for scapegoats.
Bottom line is that Obama is indeed a Marxist…as all of his present and past behavior supports this.
Soo,,now that we have established this….vote his power out in November 2010 by voting out ALL Democrats in 2010 elections. Afterall,,it became very apparent recently there are NO moderate Democrats in Congress…ALL Democrats are Marxists.
Before you go lomping all of us in one group, get a grip and realize that, for example, I am a constituionalist. I haven't trusted either party of buffons for over 20 years and their are many of us who post on this site. You on the other hand, definitely show a progressive bias. FYI many of the minions in the white house now were in the private sector jobs that caused the problems in 2008. Mr Gietner was the head of the New York federal reserve when AIG got their stimulus money that went to bonuses. Barny Frank and Chris Dodd, two democrats, pushed to allow fannie and freddiemac to make the loans that caused the housing collaspe. So before you go spewing your strawman hateful attacks, make sure you call all the spades on the table.
Is everone who frequents this site a ridiculously gullible reactionaly ideoglogue or does this description only those of you who choose to comment?
How does the government punish banks financially, when all the money banks have is depositor money?
You're mistaken, old vet. Freddie and Fannie did not cause the housing collapse. That's a widely believed lie that was concocted by propagandists whose motives we can only guess at. The truth is that Wall St and mortgage brokers created the sub-prime explosion/implosion. Those are the players who were increasing the number and % of crappy loans for years before Freddie and Fannie, under pressure from their own shareholders to get in on the lucrative sub-prime action, eventually followed the lead of Wall St., Countrywide, et. al. F & Factually maintained what used to be normal standards for their portfolios for a while after the other players had abandoned real standards. But eventually F & F gave in to the pressure and followed the pack.
Another popular myth is that federal laws promoting loans to minorities and economically disadvantaged communities played a significant role in the fiasco. In fact they played a TINY role in the housing boom-bust and the ensuing financial crisis. Don't let the liars win, OV. Do your own research and be particularly skeptical of anything you read or hear that you're predisposed to believe because it lends support to your world view.
