Dems Gone Wild: Citizen Assaulted While Filming Oregon Gubernatorial Event

Approximately 10 minutes into the speech the moderator informs the public not to film. The citizen continues to film, stating it is his First Amendment Right. The camera is smashed into his face. This is clearly seen on the video.

I live in Beaverton, 15 miles to the Southwest of Portland and this is typical behavior by the DNC oligarchs here in Oregon.
Shocking yes but this is Oregon and we don't actually have elections here, we have the illusion of elections…
We mail in ballots and the media assures us that the votes were counted fairly by state employees and volunteers and that an election actually took place that day and that we all voted overwhelmingly democrat/socialist.
Kitzhaber was one of the driving forces behind the 'vote by mail' scam and Sen Wyden wants to make it the national system of voting.
When the process of voting becomes an entirely 'mail in affair' and you can no longer witness people actually going to vote the elections are no longer free or fair…
Since they changed the state's constitution using an 'experimental' vote by mail election in 1993.
This state has never been the same since that 'experimental vote' and the same thing will happen nationally if the scum bag dems make this the official federal system of 'voting'!
The media already picks our 'leaders' here in Oregon please don't allow this to happen to the whole country!

Have we firmly established a legal right to film in public? And if so, is it really a first amendment right, or is it derived from something else?
I mean, this is assault, straight up. Not saying this is right. But is seems to me, we're having all kinds of serious problems (with the police in some places, for example) because we do NOT have established case law to support a right to film.

Governor Kitzhaver, if you do not publicly condemn this behavior in your behalf then we must assume that you condone it. That Sir would make you a Fascist as well as a Democratic governor. Best that you apologize to the videographer and insure that the perpetrators are prosecuted for assault as they should be.

Politics used to be about getting the best person for the job. The best person was the one who would make the most effective and efficient use of the precious taxpayer's dollars. Now, for the Democrats, it's win and win at any cost and by any means. Why is it so important for them to be elected? What do they gain from all of this? It's not about the politician's salaries. They don't want the jobs for that reason. Hmmm…I wonder why they want access to the public treasury?

Whenever you're presented with proof of Democrat wrongdoing, you predictably either A) Deny the authenticity of the proof, or B) cite an example of a similar act committed by a Republican, as if it justifies the Democrat's behavior. Never do you have an actual opinion on the events in discussion. That's because forming an opinion requires the ability to reason. Instinctive, knee-jerk responses require neither thinking nor responsibility. You're basically Pavlov's dog in human form.
Too bad the camera wielding man after being assaulted didn't stand up and shout that he has just been assaulted by the two men on each side of him and that he needs the police to help him NOW! Surely there would have been an officer in the audience and the public disruption would have FORCED action. What is the speaker going to do? Continue while they work him over? Also too bad he didn't upon receiving the threat pull out a cell phone and call 911 and ask them to send the police as he is being threatened with violence in a church meeting. The cell phone at that point would also be catching and the police recording the voices of the perpetrators. I'd expect the end result to be his removal from the church for the disruption, but at that point, his focus should be upon forcing arrest and criminal charges for those who issue threats and carry them out. The only reason this behavior continues is because none seem to manage to force arrests and prosecutions for it. I don't care who or what party does violence – it has to be halted.
The general reason for the new shyness with cameras and cell phones? People have been caught nationally in video and sound clips saying things that are embarrassing, detrimental, and contrary to their other statements.
Although the Governor is a public figure and the public was invited to the event, isn't the church private property (despite its tax-exempt status)? I'm not excusing the bullying or the assault, but if one held a reception for a public figure, invited the public to participate, and held the event at a private home or workplace, could not the property owner or the property's tenant legally ask those on his property to not record video/audio or take photographs?
I'm asking as a matter of clarification of what the First Amendment protects and what rights property owners possess.

This is a terrible assault. Yes this should be denounced as much as possible! No violence is acceptable, neither a woman being attacked NOR a man having his own camera slammed in his face. I too am anxiously waiting to see if there is any film from the Angle/ Reid debacle. I would bet a pretty penny that it was the Reid supporters that started the whole thing.
This Country will not be restored to our core values until the fighting is for real. It will take a civil war – everyone knows it – we are just not prepared for it yet.
Unfortunately, the American Patriots will rest on their good nature too long, and nary a shot will fire by the time we lose our Country for good because our "rights", including the 2nd Amendment will be gone. nope.. once the public invitation went out (as shown at the start of the video), no longer does the "private event" clause fall into play. If it were a private event, with no open invitations, then yes, the tenant has the right to say no video-taping.

Whether the videographer was correct or not, WRT First Amendment rights, isn't the point. The question is whether the assailant was within his rights to forbid the filming.

The Chuch is Private Property, open to the public. The Church still maintains the right to establish their rules.
BUT, the proper way this should have been handled was for the Church representative to advise the filmer he needed to leave immediately. If refused, then the Police should have been clled and a Trespass charge filed by the Church. They would have been withing their right to do that – to ask anyone to leave – for any reason.
The way it went down was a crime and both the Mike Tyson impersonator AND the Church are liable for criminal and civil charges. O'Keefe would be very wrong not to pursue this legally.

Regardless, a man should never hit a woman unless his life is threatened. But then again if his life is threatened a republican wouldn't hit her, he'd shoot her.
For the sake of context, it would be nice to see the whole video. Why was the man not arrested if this picture tells the whole story?
Still, this man clearly was not acting as a person of authority for the Angle event. It makes it much more sinister when the authority punches you for exercising your rights.
The best part is the built in 'poll tax' in that the state doesn't pay for the mailing, you have to buy your own stamp or drive it to the elections office yourself.
The original argument was that this would help 'the poor, the elderly and the infirm and make it more "CONVENIENT"'….
i.e. 'voting is a burden' and 'an inconvenience' to them…

Security guards broke up the scuffle between a man who supports Angle and two women who support Reid after several bystanders failed to separate them at Faith Lutheran Jr./Sr. High School, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.
"He punched me twice, so I punched him back twice," Kay Mehta told the newspaper as she nursed a red, tearing eye and waited for police to arrive. "I was just defending myself."
Mehta's friend, Kelly Tanaki, said the fight began when the Angle supporter pushed her over. She said the fight occurred because she walked past the man, not because they back different candidates.
The unidentified man was detained by school officials of course and the obama gang bangers were let go
"I didn't expect anything like this, not in a million years," the Rev. Robin Joyce, one of the organizers of the event, told the newspaper. "Our whole aim was to have an educational forum to hear from the candidates about their economic positions."
The fight came after an impassioned event during which the crowd both heckled and cheered Angle and Reid.
Both candidates were asked about health care, education and job creation. Reid couldn't make the forum, but filmed his responses.
This is merely the logical conclusion of allowing socialists to determine what is and what is not "politically correct" two decades ago. We effectively lost the First Amendment when the public discourse was hijacked by The Right Not To Be Offended. Give regressive socialists an inch, and before you know it, they get to decide what your rights are, and when you may exercise them, as this video so vividly demonstrates. They're not going to give up this power without a fight, folks. Let's hope we don't end up invoking the Second Amendment to save what's left of the First…

I'm sorry. This story didn't have an ending. If the cops weren't called to report an assult immediately after it happened then it was all bullshit. Wouldn't it have made more sense to get images of the police cars and officers going into the church? It would have been a much better embarrassment to the candidate for this event to, at the very least, show up in the local police blotter?
