ACORN has quite a number of people working for it that seem to have very little moral sense. However, taping outrageous statements is not the same as uncovering criminal acts. Giles and O'Keefe have not produced evidence that ACORN has played a role in funding prostitution or has had any involvement in trafficking. That would require true investigative ability. For all its explosiveness, this really smacks of an undergrad stunt and I just can't work up too much outrage over it.

"Lavelle Stewart, a fair-housing coordinator in the group’s Los Angeles office, told me this week that she tried to get the 'prostitute,' who claimed she had been beaten by her pimp, to go to a women’s center.
'The fact she was not taking the help I offered her made me think something was not right,' Stewart said. 'It raised a red flag.'”

I find it ironic that so much of the discussion went on in front of the door with the “Program for Torture Victims” showing. What else do you call shipping in young girls with few choices into a new country, making them have sex with strange men? A life of prostitution is not a walk among the tulips. I guess human trafficking is in no way related to “torture”.
